SPURS didn't turn up at Norwich as the Super Single crashed but fair play to the Canaries for a battling display.

Sampdoria let the treble down early doors but at least the Big Hitters treble – which luckily avoided Porto and Atletico Madrid – came in at just over evens thanks to Bayern Munich, Juventus and Liverpool.

It's been a tough weekend but hopefully anyone who has lost out will start clawing it back tonight – and there's a big card on Wednesday I've already had a look at.

Sheffield Wednesday were my Super Single when their FA Cup clash with Charlton was postponed and I'll be looking to back them again. Both sides won at the weekend but of course Charlton's was a confidence-boosting victory against QPR.

Hull recorded a superb 4-0 win at Cardiff in the Premier League and should win their replay at home to Brighton but of course will be out ineligible strikers Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long who were so impressive in Wales.

There are two big games in Italy between Parma v Fiorentina and Napoli and Genoa. My thoughts were draw at Parma and win for Napoli and Oor man in Napoli is in agreement with those tips.

So to start the treble I'm on Napoli who will be back close to full strength after resting half a team in the 0-0 Europa League draw at Swansea.

I've spent some time looking at team news and stats and I'm in danger of overthinking it. So let's keep it simple and add over 2.5 goals at Jong PSV v Emmen in the Dutch second tier.

For a single I'd take over 3.5 but over 2.5 is fine for the treble. Nine of Emmens's last 11 game shave gone over 3.5 goals and 10 of Jong PSV's last 12 have been over 2.5. However, earlier in the season PSV won 2-0 at Emmen.

Irish fans have warned us about blindly backing the hot favourites in the Setanta Sports Cup ties but have pinpointed goals there as well as in the Linfield v Glentoran league clash.

One match that intrigues me is Republic of Ireland champions St Pat's at Northern Irish minnows Ballinamallard. It's the first meeting between the teams, first time the TV cameras have visited the underdogs' tiny ground and first time the club have played in the Setanta Sports Cup.

St Pat's are about 1-5 to win and although they're in pre-season mode they should win comfortably. Remember it's a first-leg tie so the don't need to go goal crazy but should win by at least three having shown their ambition by signing ex-Birmingham midfielder Keith Fahey.

So the safest be could be over 2.5 goals with Ballinamallard losing 6-0 to Linfield recently and picking up just two points in 10 games before beating basement boys Ards 1-0 last time out.

Benfica are short but should be safe bets at home to Guimaraes. They are unbeaten at home this season but so were Porto before losing to Estoril on Sunday.

There have been plenty of comments about Cologne beating an under-strength Greuther Furth who reportedly have illness problems. Team news for tonight hasn't been confirmed but it's one to look out for.

For the Super Single I've decided to stand by Wednesday even though they're odds are shorter than they were for when the tie was originally scheduled. A quarter-final with city rivals Sheffield Utd is a huge carrot and winning must mean more to them than Championship rivals Charlton.

Both sides won at the weekend but crucially Owls boss Stuart Gray rested half of his team in anticipation of a cup clash two days later. Charlton didn't have that luxury and could feel the pace tonight as well as missing striker Marcus Tudgay who is ineligible.

It's a close call but I'm confident Wednesday will nick it and set up a dream tie.

Hello all! I’m sorry I shamefully didn’t do a write-up for a tasty looking Sunday card but I was too busy feeling the effects of getting merry and basking in the sunlight of the top half of the Premier League table. Rumour has it I even told someone that I loved Kevin Nolan in a drunken haze. This has been very much denied by myself but after the run we’ve had, it’s difficult not to love anyone connected with West Ham right now. Anyway, I did manage to put up a winner for The Dane’s series which makes it 1 from 3 now. Hopefully this pick and the rest will be good today!

    THE DANE’S OVERS SERIES:

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE V WHITEHAWK 7:45pm (CONFERENCE SOUTH)

For my bet for The Dane’s series, I’m dropping down to the Conference South and to the South Coast. 5 of H&W’s last 7 league matches have gone over 2.5 goals while 8 of their last 9 home matches have gone that way. 7 of Whitehawk’s last 8 league matches have gone over 2.5 goals, whilst 4 of their last 7 away matches have gone over 2.5. They’ve met once in the league already this season which ended 2-2 and also twice in the FA Trophy which ended 3-1 and 1-1. I’m backing over 2.5 goals here because this is a Havant & Waterlooville side who are in excellent form at home up against a Whitehawk side who concede plenty.

OVERS TIP: HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE V WHITEHAWK OVER 2.5 GOALS – 8/11

    MAIN TIPS:

SPARTA PRAGUE V FC BRNO 5:00pm (CZECH PREMIER LEAGUE)

Sparta are the top team in this league and have scored 25 in their 8 home league matches this season winning all of them. They’ve scored 2 or more on 5 occasions including 4 of their last 5 home league matches. Brno have lost 5 of their 8 away matches this season and although they’ve only conceded 3 or more once this season away from home, they haven’t played anyone as good as Sparta yet. The H2H record shows Sparta have scored 17 in the previous 6 meetings between the sides and at 10/11, Sparta over 2.5 team goals looks a decent bet.

    ELAZIGSPOR V FENERBACHE 6:00pm

Elazigspor have won their last 4 home matches and although sit in 15th position in the Super League, they are slowly turning their form around. Fenerbache are top of the table and are 3 points clear of the pack, but they’ve lost their last 3 away matches and are wobbling a touch. Elazigspor are rightly second favourites for this one, but I have a feeling they could cause their opponents some problems. Fenerbache have only won once in three visits to their opponents and I’m going to be on Elazigspor double chance at 13/8.

    TIPS:
Sparta Prague over 2.5 team goals – 10/11
    Elazigspor/draw – 13/8

Also, tomorrow marks the return of the Czech u21 league PLUS there’s action from the Dutch Beloften and the Belgian Reserve league. These are your best bets for goals:

    CZECH U21:
    Dukla Prague v Varnsdorf – 12:00pm

    BELGIAN RESERVE LEAGUE:
    Gent v Club Brugge – 6:30pm
    Kortrijk v Mechelen – 6:30pm
    OH Leuven v Mons – 6:30pm

    DUTCH BELOFTEN:
    Jong VVV/Helmond v Jong Dordrecht – 5:30pm
Jong Den Bosch v Jong NAC – 5:30pm

Right that’s all from me! Best of luck to all.

      Havant & Waterlooville – Whitehawk
      Over 2.5 goals

      Stake: 6.67%

I predict no less than two out of Mr. Fixit, Alex and Greg Browning to end in profit and a total profit of no less than 10% over the 3 x 30 matches.

All stakes are in percentages of a fixed bankroll.)

Evening gents, posted this earlier tonight – thoughts on tomorrow’s Belgian and Dutch reserve matches: not going to go into too much detail but from the matches I’ve looked at, these are my top 5

All over 1.5 First half goals / over 2.5 match goals / over 3.5 match goals: To be be backed as either singles, doubles etc!

    Belguim Reserve League: All 6.30pm

    Oh leuven v Mons
    Lokeren v Charleroi
    Lierse v Zulte

    Dutch Reserve League: Both 5.30pm

    Jong Az v Jong Utrecht
Jong Zwolle v Jong Den Haag

Tomorrow also sees the return of the Dainsh reserve league, this is best watched as it’s the first week of fixtures – Copenhagen were good to us punters last season and are in action at 12pm

Still to decide on Bet 4 of over series – will post in the morning!

    • Rustychest 10 years ago

Cheers Greg you champion :) You’ve gone down the rabbit hole again.

  8. Sanj 10 years ago

After the last few holes, if Dubuisson gets it amongst the cacti again you’ve gotta lump on him winning lol!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Sanj, it’s mad. He can get up and down from all sorts of rubbish then takes 3 from the edge of the green. And on we go.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Day – finally. Well done to Ace Venturer – that’s 3 wins out of 4 weeks – and Johnb who tipped him at 20-1.

Quick copy and paste from old thread

Just sharing some research I’ve done for the Czech u21 games tomorrow

Games I see with most overs potential in order of how confident I am

    Dukla Prague vs Varnsdorf

    Dukla’s 10 home games have seen 43 goals (F25 A18) while Varnsdorf’s 11 away have seen 45 goals (F9 A36)

    Jablonec vs Hradec Kralove

    Jablonec’s 10 home games have seen 34 goals (F20 A14) while Hradec’s 10 away have seen 45 goals (F23 A22)

    Pribram vs Sigma Olomouc

    Pribram’s 10 at home have seen 43 goals (F31 A12) while Sigma’s 11 away have seen 31 goals (F14 A17)

    Viktoria Plzen vs Brno

    Plzen’s 11 at home have seen 35 (F22 A13) while Brno’s 11 away have seen 37 goals (F19 A18)

    Znojmo vs Trinec

    Znojmo’s 11 at home have seen 47 goals (F19 A28) while Trinec’s 10 away have seen 37 (F8 A29)

    Vysocina Jihlava vs Bohemians

11 home games for home side have yielded 33 goals (F13 A20) while 11 away games for away side have seen 40 (F14 A26)

This last match may struggle as both teams obviously have conceded the majority of goals in their matches

For those who don’t know The Setanta Cup is contested between teams from the League of Ireland (Rep. of Ireland) and the Irish League (Northern Ireland). The competition has evolved over the years and it now consists of 4 teams from each league facing each other in 2-legged quarter finals with the teams paired off against opposing teams from the other league.

Since it’s inception in 2005 the cup has been, for the most part, the preserve of teams from the League Of Ireland. Only 2 teams from the Irish League have had any success, Linfield in it’s early days and Crusaders in 2012. Despite this the games have been close fought encounters made all the more unpredictable by the status of the differing league systems i.e. the Irish League being well into their Winter League season and the League Of Ireland still a couple of weeks away from beginning their summer league season. Close encounters they were, until last year.

Last year saw a massive gap in the competitiveness of the quarter-final fixtures as the pre-seasoners apparently benefitted from factors that could range from freshness, the northern teams taking it less seriously as they hit the business end of their season or the LOI beginning to reap the benefits of their summer league system as the quality of player and product has seemed to steadily increase year on year.
The improvement in player quality is evidenced by Keith Fahey and Stephen McPhail returning to their roots for this years campaign. McPhail, at 34, may be past his best but Fahey is only 30 and still has plenty left. Both players have made recent Wembley appearances with Fahey boasting a League Cup winners medal with Birmingham from 2011. Colin Healy has been plying his trade with Cork City for a few years after a successful time in Scotland and England’s top flights and someone to keep a keen eye on is Richie Towell at Dundalk. The former Celtic youngster had a couple of seasons in and out of the Hibs team before he caught the eye last season. Expect big things from him this year.

Tonight’s fixtures see Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers (McPhail) and St Patricks (Fahey) all in action and all should be expected to win their games and probably with some comfort if last season is a good barometer. Sligo Rovers away to Crusaders is a slightly different matter but at even money with Boylesports the ‘Bit O’ Red’, who started last season like they had finished the previous one (which for the matter was outstandingly) and have signed an interesting forward with plenty of experience at good levels, Eric Odhiambo, should be seen as a bit’ o’ value and worth a small single punt.

We’re going with a treble of the other 3, Sligo in a single and also an o2.5gls single in the Dutch Jupiler league.

With the inherent difficulty in backing teams yet to begin their competitive season all bets will be half the SBS (Standard Bet Size).

    Good luck if you follow.

  16. Burger 10 years ago

Fitba, if any proof was needed that the Northern Irish teams don’t take the competion as seriously as those from the south, the top 2 Northern teams (Linfield & Cliftonville) have declined the invitation to enter this years competion. The only game if be a bit wary of backing against the northern side is Crusaders against Sligo. The ‘Crues’ play on a plastic 3G pitch and have an excellent home record. Also after winning the cup 2 years ago, they are most likely to take it seriously, but they have been slightly off the boil in the league of late. As you say, Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and St Pats all look good and I’ll be backing the treble too.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      Burger

Agreed that Sligo are less certain but they are fast becoming the most resourced team in Ireland. They recently announced a half-mill training ground expansion which is a huge out lay for a team at that level although I dare say there is some match funding/grants etc to help with that. 10 games into the league last year I would have put your house (not mine that would just be daft) on Sligo to win the league so good was their start and if they hit anything like those high notes they could cruise past The Crues. I reckon there could be a little value in evens

With the treble I was very tempted to go with the handicaps! But sense took a temporary hold. Could well be value in single handicaps for Rovers who surely must improve on last year, Pats won a lot of games to nil last season and Dundalk’s manager, Stephen Kenny is an absolute genius and the best manager in the league by some distance.

Of course this is opinion and only slightly substantiated fact.

    Concordia(10)-Steaua(1)

Steaua never lost with Concordia W5 D1 actually last meeting was last week ended with Steaua winning easy 4-0.I see another win today for Steaua but the odds are to low(1.4).Instead i find much more value in this bet and i cannot understand why the odds are so big because there will be same teams as last week so:

MAIN BET STEAUA (-1) above evens (2.20)

Secondary bet on this game will be based on the fear of Concordia. They surely will stay more in defence because in the last game opening up to Steaua cost them 4 goals.

    Parma v Fiorentina
Parma like a draw even though they have not lost for 12-13 matches. Its an impressive run if not for the fact they prefer a draw to a win.
Sort of sums up Parma who are a tricky side to beat. Taking the tempo out the game, defending and counter attacking which will be key tonight.

Fiorentina have the advantage on head to head but the last 4-5 meetings in Parma have ended a DRAW.

Fiorentina have a busy schedule and that may slow them down a bit. Good news is (after that dodgy offside Inter goal last week) is Gomez is back and closer to getting a game from the start, Tomovic and Savic are back with Aquilani and Valero.

I am not betting on this as its too tight to call. But a score-draw is my first instinct followed by the chance Parma could hit them on a counter with a few tired legs in the Fiorentina team as the game goes on considering they have to play in the Europa in 3 nights.

    Score draw

    Napoli v Genoa
Napoli will have 6 players returing to their first team that rested for Swansea. This is an important game and Napoli will likely want to start fast and strong to get the game under control.

News is ok from Napoli. Rafael the second keeper who did a super first half job in Wales was sent to Villa Stuart in Rome and was confirmed to need surgery and is out for rest of seaon. Napoli will need to find a replacement who has no contract!

    hull v Brighton team news

Hull will be without in-form strike duo Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long for the FA Cup fifth-round replay against Brighton on Monday.

Both sides played on Saturday, making rotation a necessity anyway, but the Tigers’ January signings are both cup-tied meaning a chance for the likes of Yannick Sagno, Sone Aluko and Matty Fryatt.

Alex Bruce and Tom Huddlestone both picked up knocks in the 4-0 win at Cardiff and may be excused at the KC Stadium.

Brighton will check on Solly March ahead of the match.

The teenage winger missed Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat by Wigan with a minor hamstring problem but could yet make the trip to the KC Stadium.

Boss Oscar Garcia will have to make at least one enforced change to his starting line-up as midfielder Dale Stephens is cup-tied having already played in the competition for previous club Charlton.

Leonardo Ulloa, who scored his fourth goal in four games against Wigan, is expected to play on despite an ankle problem but fellow strikers Craig Mackail-Smith (groin) and Will Hoskins (knee) are out along with midfielder Andrew Crofts (knee).

I’D be very careful backing teams at this stage of the Setanta cup,as has already been noted the teams from the rep of Ireland are of a higher standard than those here in the North but you also have to note the fact that the Irish lg { north} is in the middle of its season whilst the Lg of Ireland {south} are in pre season.
    Games Today

    {south}Shamrock Rvrs – Glentoran{north}
    {north}Crusaders – Sligo Rovers{south}
    {south}Dundalk – Coleraine{north}
    {north}Ballinamallard – St. Patricks{south}

Setanta games this time last year {mon 11 feb 2013} Teams from south at home:

    Shamrock Rvrs 0 – 1 Coleraine {rovers lost at odds of about 2/5 }
    St. Patricks 0 – 0 Glentoran {st pats were just over 1/2 to win}
    Drogheda 3 – 2 Portadown {Drogheda were 4/5}
    Cork City 4 – 0 Cliftonville {Cork were just over evens}

As you can see games were of no value at all to punters with 2 teams losing at very short odds, todays games are a NO BET for me. Good Luck

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Sean, it’s a good warning and I’ll heed he advice. Surely though St Pat’s will knock a few past Ballinamallard.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Sean, it’s a good warning and I’ll heed the advice. Surely though St Pat’s will knock a few past Ballinamallard.

    • Sean Ireland { north} 10 years ago

Yes i agree that on paper there is a huge gulf in class between the teams on of the 4 ties they are the standout as Ballnimallard are easily the weakest team in it but the odds for St Pats away at just 1/5 means you will have to go into the -2 market to get any value.
Id prefer looking at the Linfield v Glenavon game that Alex has already hi-lighted,there should be goals in this one,i also fancy Linfield to win and Btts if i find a favourable price,10 of Glenavons last 11 games has seen both teams scoring and as Alex has said Linfield are very dominant at home having lost just once in 14 games.Ladt meetings this season produced a 3-2 home win for Linfield and a 3-1 away win for Linfield. This game should follow a similar path.

  41. raaljaca 10 years ago

    Spartak Moscow v Djurgarden 3.30

Only a friendly but given the number of goals scored in Spartaks Scandinavian tour it might be worth a small bet on the over 4.5 market. Spartaks last 4 games on this tour have seen 3-1, 2-1, 0-5 and 3-2 results whereas Djurgarden lost 0-4 last Wednesday to Lokomotiv Moscow.

    Over 4.5 match goals (2/1)

    • Alex 10 years ago

raaljaca – As you say, it’s a friendly so must be careful but those are good looking stats. Probably a 0.5pt stake? Maybe less because it’s a 2/1 shot.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Alex, the over 3.5 goals is priced at 4/5 which given it is a friendly seems to make the 2/1 for an extra goal quite big. I have done 75% on over 3.5 and 25% on over 4.5. Greg pointed out yesterday one of these games went 16-0 so I am swithering over the over 15.5 market!!

  42. Troy 10 years ago

Paul – With regards to team news for the Jong teams where does one search this information Sir Fixit(not to be mistaken for Jim’ll)ha-ha?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Troy, I’d try the club website. Alternatively put the fixture into google with the words match preview or team news and see what comes up. It’s a slow process checking teams news and I can spend hours on it sometimes.

  43. Alex 10 years ago

    One more from me today:

    LINFIELD V GLENAVON 7:45pm

This is a league fixture so none of the worries of the Setanta Cup. Linfield are excellent at home and they love a goal too. Their last 4 home matches have produced 19 goals, whilst 6 of their last 8 home matches have gone over 3.5 goals. Glenavon have seen exactly half their away matches go over 3.5 goals this season, but more generally, 6 of their last 7 league matches have seen 4 or more goals. Both meetings this season have gone over 3.5 goals and although I can’t see any odds for over 3.5 goals as yet, the goal line is set at Over 3, 3.5. That means if it ends with 3 goals, half your stake is refunded. If it ends with 4 or more, we’re quids in. That’s set at a fraction over EVENS.

    TIP:
    Linfield v Glenavon – Over 3, 3.5 goals – 2.025

    • Sean Ireland { north} 10 years ago

Good call Alex, ill also be taking the Linfield to win and Btts price when i find it :)

    Who wants 357/1?

    4-Fold ACCA 2
Parma to beat Fiorentina(BTTS and Win)
Brest to beat Bastia (BTTS and Win)
Elazigspor to beat Fenerbahce(BTTS and Win)
    Koln (Match Betting)

Parma – As per ‘oor man in Napoli’……Fiorentina could be suffering from tired legs after their 3-1 Europa League win and Parma are undefeated in 7 at home.

Brest were nearly included in ACCA 1 and should see off bottom of the league Bastia who they have beaten (2-0 and 3-1) on the last two occasions in 2013.

Elazigspor – Checked the stats and totally agree with Alex’s comments. 6 wins out of their last 7 home games.
    13/2 – What a price?!?!
    Fererbache – 4 defeats in their last 5 away games (2-1, 2-1, 2-1 and 2-0)

Koln to beat a severely weakened Greuther Fürth team! Surely a SS for Mr F!

Got to be worth a £1 or two.

    Napoli & Benfica Double

NAPOLI in 3rd place need to keep the pressure on Roma and a home tie against mid table Genoa should help their cause along with their excellent home record.

BENFICA remain unbeaten at home and should open up a 5 point lead at the top with a win over 6th place Guimaraes who are average away from home and currently 17 points behind the leaders.

  57. Mark1976 10 years ago

Well Alex summed up this weekend perfectly, terrible and me especially. Has to have been my worst in several weeks, what was very apparent this weekend were the upsets. Champions league football midweek saw Dortmund lose at the weekend in the Bundesliga Barcelona and Atletico lose in the Primera Liga. Europa league on Thursday saw the demise of FC Porto, Tottenham lose in their respective leagues whilst the big guns that managed to prevail with wins after midweek fixtures were PSG, Juventus of course Bayern. Made be something to consider in future, hopefully this week will be more profitable than the weekend

  59. sean 10 years ago

Hello Mr f, been following this site for some time now, first time posting here, im thinking about having a big wager tonight on Napoli benfica double to try and get back some losses from the weekend,
    what’s your thoughts?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

sean, firstly don’t chase losses – it causes problems. Secondly, I never encourage people to go “big”. You should have a staking plan that would stop you from doing so and have a maximum stake that you never exceed. You and I know Napoli and Benfica are massive favourites and should both win but they double isn’t guaranteed.

does anybody know what happens if they give you the wrong odds in the shop?

like i put on a little accumulator, and they gave me odds of 4/1 for Espanyol or draw, like will it stand? will they even notice when i cash it in?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

dougal, it will only stand if they don’t notice the mistake. If they spot it they’ll pay you at what the price should have been.

  63. Tony 10 years ago

Captain on the same double trying a challenge bet 5 to not sure yet, surley both will come in the night for whoever is on these 2 hope so anyway.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Tony, Oor man pointed this one out, Parma v Fiorentina, the last 6 games between these two both teams have scored. Well worth a couple of quid.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, also two of Genoa’s last four have been 3-3 draws so they’ve been more adventurous in recent weeks. Might put up a btts/overs/unders line later.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Looking at it Mr F, Genoa didn’t score at Roma but they have only conceded 2 at home all season. Genoa scored at Livorno, conceded 19 at home this season and Fiorentina, conceded 17 at home. Napoli have conceded only 10 at home which basically falls bang in the middle of these stats but at 13/10 for both to score it is looking like it could well be worth chancing that Genoa can sneak one.
The 5/6 for both to score in Parma v Fiorentina is definitely not the worst 5/6 I have ever seen.

  64. Damo 10 years ago

I’m cashing out bet 2 challenge for a £1.50 loss, it may well come up (0-1)BUT the bet365 connection keeps dropping for long spells which is frustrating and forcing my hand in case it disappears completely.

Paul – I’m going to start the drum roll for a ‘BTTS and Win’ single daily! “Troy it’s a treble” ha-ha

That would be fantastic……or occasionally you could add one within the daily summary?! I.e. You were super confident about Hertha Berlin over the weekend

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Troy, re the btts and win market I’m not that keen on tipping them. I only started doing them now and again because of requests. It’s the same as anything else, a bit of research and it becomes easier, but I’ll just do them for now when there’s a big card. Tonight if I had to pick one it would probably be Napoli.

  73. hsta 10 years ago

Got a little carried away at the football over the weekend so wasn’t around to post but saturdays bets were 6 points on Leyton orient, 1 point on 3-0 leyton orient and 4 on adebayor anytime so last week went from 3 points to 15 by the end, overall it was a good week. prior to the un posted weekend bets I was on 8 points so any pendants can still see a decent profit from those.

Going to start on 3 points again this week and go for:

2 points Hull win – I think that late hull goal in the first may have knocked the wind out of brighton’s sails and that a home win is a good bet at 3/4.

    1 point – Higuain FGS at 11/4

Hopefully one of those come in but if not, then each day will have a 3 point limit

  74. Scott "The Cat" 10 years ago

Good call on the cash out Damo, with Kocaelispor being lower in the league I can see them being happy to keep the ball against 9 men and just stick with the win, maybe tuck another in if the opportunity arises. Korfez are the goal scorers but I can’t see them getting much with 9 men.

Update; there’s now been a red for Kocaelispor, more reason for them to try and put the shutters on this game

    • Damo 10 years ago

Yeah I wasn’t feeling it with the away side taking the lead, and with their terrible away record they would likely just be battling to keep a clean sheet. First time I’ve cashed out and been happy with my decision, especially with the three red cards. Games ruined, I put the bet up inplay and the first came quickly after I posted so I’m hoping nobody got on as over 2.5 goals would have been very short at that point.

    George,

Both teams have been scoring well and not conceding many, so they may very well cancel each other out for the 0-0.

On the plus side for you the home team has always won in the two H2H I can see, and bursaspor have scored at home every game this season.

If it was me I’d cash out so I didn’t have to start completely from scratch instead of running the risk to lose it all. There’s plenty of other games on today

Well in Damo, good spot on this market if you can pick the right games. I had Hyde at weekend but in a losing treble.

    • Damo 10 years ago

Yeah, the 12/5 seems pretty big for a few teams more than capable of scoring when the overs is opening at less than evens for over 3.5 match goals.

Think I’ll have another go with the Dutch/Belgium games later.

I predict no less than two out of Mr. Fixit, Alex and Greg Browning to end in profit and a total profit of no less than 10% over the 3 x 30 matches.

All stakes are in percentages of a fixed bankroll.)

I have another question, what if you bet on a tennis player called Mayer to win, but then another player called Mayer lost and they had exactly the same odds.

How is the bookie supposed to know which one you bet on? Because I bet on the other one while the first one lost!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

One whose game started closest to you putting the bet on would count. If the same times then they split the stake onto both.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

dougal, did you know there were two Mayers playing? It’s a tricky one because they may say you should have made it clear which one you wanted by using Christian names.

  103. Zlaja 10 years ago

    Parma-Fiorentina draw
    Espanyol-Villareal away win
    Napoli-Genoa under 2.5 goals

In both games we have a situation where home team won last round away, while guests lost at home, which should point to rebounding games for visitors. But, Fiorentina had Europa League game this thursday where they blew some steam off by winning at Esbjerg, so game is closer to a draw.
For Napoli game, consider under 2.5 goals, as Napoli has a rematch vs Swansea just three days later and Genoa usually plays hard after a game with plenty of goals.

  104. dougal 10 years ago

Surely not because the one I bet on hasn’t played yet, while the other one lost! How is that fair to lose my accumulator, because they never bothered to check!

I didn’t know there were two playing when i placed it. the thing is they literally have the same odds, both varying between 1.5 and 1.6. so how can they tell who it was? the thing is the bookies i go to aren’t very smart sometimes, i mean handing odds of 4/1 for Villareal or draw! The staff there are nice though, might give me the benefit of the doubt? Obviously it doesn’t matter if the other guy loses, but if it does it could get interesting!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

dougal, you can tell the difference by their first names. You may get away with it but if you bet on tennis regularly you should know there are two Mayers.

  108. Daniel 10 years ago

Thank you for a very Good website with always interesting facts and good tips. I am curious, do you have any stats on how your “Best tips of the day” have ended up over a long period of time (last month, last half year etc) – would a player betting on exactly these tips with Even units be up (or down) in a known percentage?

    Keep up the Good work!

    Cheers!
    Daniel

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Daniel, last year the Super Single was well up, in January it was down and in February it’s doing OK. All tips remain on the site for anyone who wants to check. If we were charging there would be stats for everything. To be honest I’d judge the Super Single daily – if you agree with the tip back it and if you don’t then leave it alone.

    Afternoon lads,

New job so can’t really post much. Great card in the reserves today as well, was expecting more excitement from mr browning over Danish reserve league though haha, Copenhagen just made me a fair sized sum.

Anyway, could be totally wrong here but teplice did me a few times before the new year, seem to be rather good defensively so overs might be tricky, don’t really bet on unders but just a heads up. But then I thought that about bohemians!

Hope everyone is well, much love

    • Buddie 10 years ago

Been reading posts on this site for a couple of weeks. Loving the craic! Very new to this betting malarkey. Slightly handicapped as I am a female and worse I am a st mirren supporter!! Enjoying all the guys chat.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Buddie, brilliant a St Mirren fan – never met one before. I used to report on St Mirren games many moons ago. My best game? Must have been Clydebank’s 3-0 win at Love Street in the Scottish Cup when you were holders.

    • Buddie 10 years ago

We are a bit of an endangered species! I liked the drubbing we gave Celtic a few years ago which resulted in Mowbray moving on. Also really enjoyed last years league cup final. Paisley was buzzing. However I think my next bet will be on ‘next manager out’ if I can find one. We are looking very vulnerable.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Buddie, it’s been a tough season for Lennon and co. You should get a Premiership sack race market at McBookie. In the interests of fair play I also remember when you beat my boys 8-0 – luckily I was at the Scottish Grand National that day and missed it.

  118. Andrew 10 years ago

Mate, I couldn’t have said it better myself. To think about all the hours I spent researching burton Albion and other league 2 clubs and now I turn at Least 60% of my profit on weekdays haha! I owe a lot of it to you though mate, you were my mr miyagi on obscure foreign leagues haha.

Not sure if you caught me last time but honestly Greg, if your ever down in Cardiff for work again, lemme know cause lunch and beer are on me! Beloften tonight, I’m going for a browning senior 3.5 small stakes!

  125. bambarino 10 years ago

Coming from the home of bet365 I have a few friends who work there one who is quite high up so I asked about people having there account closed because they win to much this is there response- we have a lot of winning customers at bet365 at no point would anyone’s account be closed due to them winning to much as you would understand we deal with customers whos objective is to win money so what would be the point. Maybe there might be another reason why mr guys account was closed but it certainly isnt his winning bets.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

bambarino, they’re spinning you a yarn. I know several people who have had accounts closed or seriously limited by bet365 for basically winning too much. Now all of these people were betting on special markets, such as inplay goals, overs, first-half goals, etc. If you do mainly win-draw-win they may treat you differently if you win a substantial amount. I’ve spoken to my contact at bet365 about some of these accounts and there is no denial from them. Also I dealt with them when Chris Guy complained and they simply didn’t want his bets due to the sum of money he was winning on first scorers.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Bookmakers are there to make money. When a customer becomes non profitable to the bookmaker they will close accounts. I doubt very much this came from ‘high up’ as it is complete garbage.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, exactly. I’m pretty sure they have a guideline figure and if you win over it you will first be restricted then closed, especially if it’s on special markets. They monitor the types of bets people are placing and are wary about some of the obscure matches that are being tipped up. That’s why it’s best to have a few accounts and even do some shop betting if the prices are right.

    Spartak Moscow v Djurgarden **20.00**

Only a friendly but given the number of goals scored in Spartaks Scandinavian tour it might be worth a small bet on the over 4.5 market. Spartaks last 4 games on this tour have seen 3-1, 2-1, 0-5 and 3-2 results whereas Djurgarden lost 0-4 last Wednesday to Lokomotiv Moscow.

    Over 4.5 match goals (2/1)

  129. Jamie 10 years ago

Hi Mr Fix it, wondering if you could help me with a question please…

Can a Bookmaker refuse to pay out withdrawals to a customer who has previously had an additional old account with them? i.e Go to bet with said Bookie, forget password, open a new account, win – Do they still have to pay, or can they use this is an excuse not to?

    Thanks

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jamie, yes they can. You can only have one account with any one bookie. If you lose your password they can send it to you – opening another account isn’t the answer. If it’s been with no malice intended they may listen to your argument and pay you – but they don’t have to.

  131. Andrew 10 years ago

By the way folks, has anyone noticed as well as incorrectly pricing up the Swiss league since it’s return, the haven for goals that it’s been that the polish league has also proved profitable on the overs market due to the prices on offer. Been spectating mainly but I feel there’s money to be made if one picks the right games such as bialystock. Keeping an eye on the current game which was 6-5 for over 2.5

    • Damo 10 years ago

3.5 goals shouldn’t be a stretch here though and I’ve got that on a single but for the purpose of the challenge will take the safer option.

  135. Graeme 10 years ago

im from leeds and my mate works at william hill in city centre as a trader for them (stessful job I tell you)!!! he has fine margins to play with on each shift and must get every decision he makes right or he will get pulled up! they do close accounts on a regular basis but only if your costing them thousands they tend not to bother with a few hundred here and there he says.

Alex this sparta o2.5 looks good im watching the game they’re peppering them!!!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Graeme, I spent a day doing a feature on the traders in Leeds a few years ago and it’s a tough shift. As you say a wrong decision could cost thousands and of course accounts can be closed.

    • Alan 10 years ago

I don’t think there’s much danger of them closing mine.

  136. Max 10 years ago

Hi oor man don’t know if you have any goalscorers to reccomend tonight for any of the Italian teams?? Cheers

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

  137. Ryzo 10 years ago

Alex, thanks for highlighting the Sparta game mate. I lumped on 1st goal before 40mims at 4/9 and then had a smaller stake on 2nd goal before 40mins at 11/10. Also a big thank you to bet365 for screening the game live :)

  138. Richard 10 years ago

Today is definitely a day for people who like overs betting – got a lot on in these dutch games – fingers crossed for goals!

  139. Graeme 10 years ago

its quite interesting when he talks about it to be honest but very very complicated! he does get rewarded though and gets a fair wage and bonuses if they hit their targets! saw pictures of it, its impressive to see Mr F, makes you wonder how punters have any chance at all, but as you say study study & study again is the key (and a bit of luck)!!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Graeme, at the end of the day, especially for obscure games, it’s about beating the traders and trying to find out info they don’t have. Also some of them will have loads of games to look at and one or two will slip through the net. Right. off out for a bit.

  140. Richard 10 years ago

Ha anyone have groningen for their first half over – 2-0 up after 4 mins could be a new record

  141. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

I’m taking a slightly differant approach to my goalscorer bets this week. My anytime goalscorer tip of the day will be my main bet but 10% of the stake will go on a first goalscorer bet with the same player. Then will add 2 players as usual to make the treble but no singles with these. So in total 3 bets. Just trying to narrow my bets down a bit for hopefully a better outcome!!

I’ve decided to stay away from the cup games tonight so my anytime scorer tip of the day will be from the Spanish league and comes in the form of Sergio Garcia (Espanyol) This may end being a tight game but I fancy Espanyol to nick this by the odd goal. Garcia seems to be at the heart of all Espanyol’s good attacking play and is miles ahead in terms of goals in their team with 10 in 23 league games. Espanyol have won their last 2 home and away whilst Villareal have lost their last 3 away, neither have scored many recently, Espanyol-home Villareal-away, so its a bit of a risk this one. I’m hoping for a 1-0 or 2-0 home win but more importantly a Garcia goal!!
    Garcia first goal- 13/2 anytime- 9/4 bet365

Hey folks, came across the site a few weeks ago and it’s been invaluable. Some great tips, and great banter as well. Hooked daily!

Time for my first post!… Not a tip, but a question (after reading Graeme’s post above about his mate who works in William Hill, and closing accounts etc)..

I’m currently deep into a personal rolling acca. Doing well, but want to keep it going for a few more bets. I’m using Paddy Power for it. Should I continue to use them until I’m happy to end the acca and withdraw? Or is it advisable to withdraw now and put my funds into another bookie to continue the acca?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Liam10, you’ll get plenty of warning if they’re going to close you. First of all they’ll restrict stakes. If you’re doing a big rolling accumulator they’ll want to hang to you – it’s the guys who do singles they fear most.

Anyone feeling anything for the HULL-BRIGHTON game tonight?

    • PeteT 10 years ago

      Good stuff Hank.

In terms of the Hull match I can’t see beyond a Hull win in this game. Confidence will be high after the weekend, it’s a home leg and I think they’ll relish the chance to play in the next round. I just don’t think Brighton will cut the mustard – especially away from home as Hull is a fortress (a bit like Carrow Road! ;) )

    • Hank 10 years ago

Pete T, cheers and congratulations on an overdue fantastic result yesterday. only one question and that is why was Gary Hooper on the bench? Surely hes done enough to establish himself as 1st choice.

thanks for the reply and im in agreement regarding Hull though i will wait to see their starting line-up.

    • PeteT 10 years ago

Hank – we asked the same question about Hooper. I think it sums up Hughton’s tactics at the outset which was defensive and keeping a clean sheet. Hooper has been a great signing for us but the shocker has been van Wolfswinkel who just doesn’t seem to have clicked this season despite great expectations. That said if we stay up I think he’ll get a chance to make amends next year.

  165. honda 10 years ago

Well deserved win Pete against Spurs, was definitely on the cards after recent performances :)

    • PeteT 10 years ago

Hi Honda! It was Bittersweet as I backed Spuds to win (Super Single and I couldn’t see beyond it). No-one in the Barclay could believe we scored and held onto the lead but Ruddy was ‘Ruddy amazing’ with some of his saves – definite man of the match from the Barclay Boys!

So I lost the Super Single but we got 3 points – well it’s only money I suppose! ;)

I think we can just stay up – but what happens next season I don’t know. Interesting there have been reports locally that Neil Lennon stayed at Sprowston Manor last week for a couple of days (just down the road) and Brian McDermott has been seen near Carrow Road in the last few days too – the board have quite clearly said the the will only stand by Hughton if he keeps us in the Premier League (I think we are the only team in the bottom 8 who haven’t sacked our manager so far this season!) but you wonder if a change could be in the off-ing.

Hard run in for us this season – Man U, Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal are our last 4 games so this win could be essential!

  166. Andrew 10 years ago

Not even goin to try and spell the home sides name but the lechia gdansk game finished 3-0 to the away side. As raal rightly pointed out with the Swiss league, the bookies are overpricing the goals market; keep an eye on the polish ekstralaza since the defences seem to be having a winter break hangover! Will probably tighten up after a couple of rounds but good times for the moment.

    • Damo 10 years ago

Ah man, that sucks. Thought we had caught a lucky break as well! Zwolle alone had averaged over 2,5 goals themselves at home so very unlucky for them to take off their shooting boots today!

Bet365 toying with me by flashing goals up for the two teams I need for my btts double to then cruelly wipe them off!

  182. Alex 10 years ago

Jong Den Bosch 1-3 Jong NAC
    Jong VVV/Helmond 1-2 Jong Dordrecht

I said there should be goals in these two but unfortunately only 1 of them had over 3.5 which is what I went with.

  183. craigyboy 10 years ago

    Tonights double:
Having seen the team news I think I’ve got to go with a Sheff Wed and Hull double. Great odds with both teams nearly evens.
Bruce will want a crack at Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday with the extra motivation of a Sheffield derby. Two home bankers me thinks.

  184. thechief 10 years ago

    Evening guys,

I think Hull are a good bet tonight to see off Brighton in the FA cup replay. Brighton have failed to score in three of their last four away games in all competitions. The quick turnaround should suit the premier league team better. Hull are 10/11 Betvictor.

Matty Fryatt gets a rare start, he scored both goals in the previous round and I will be on him at 11/5 Bet365.

There were just 3 shots in the first meeting, and I read through the comments and the vibe is it could be an unders game. I can see why but I’m taking a chance on Hull 01.5 goals at 11/8 Coral.

    HULL TO BEAT BRIGHTON 10/11
    FRYATT TO SCORE 11/5
    HULL 01.5g 11/8

Good luck if your having a bet

**HALF TIME 0-0 JUST 5 SECOND HALF GOALS NEEDED :)**

    Spartak Moscow v Djurgarden

Only a friendly but given the number of goals scored in Spartaks Scandinavian tour it might be worth a small bet on the over 4.5 market. Spartaks last 4 games on this tour have seen 3-1, 2-1, 0-5 and 3-2 results whereas Djurgarden lost 0-4 last Wednesday to Lokomotiv Moscow.

    Over 4.5 match goals (2/1)

    • Alex 10 years ago

I had all the Belgian Youth matches to go over 2.5 goals…there’s always one isn’t there :P

  190. Alex 10 years ago

    HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE P-P WHITEHAWK

Shame because that was my bet for The Dane. I’ll have to do two on another day I guess!

    ELAZIGSPOR 1-1 FENERBACHE

    Elazigspor/draw – 13/8 – WIN :D

Just about but it’s a win nonetheless and I’m pleased it helped out Stormin and any else on BTTS.

Great day on the tips so far and Linfield are kicking off now!

    • The Dane 10 years ago

Alex – that would be great.

      The Dane.

  191. Oor man in Napoli 10 years ago

Well I didnt put on the Parma draw as it was too tight before the match but in-play was fine. Cassano I missed(but tipped)but managed to get Amauri at 4/1 at half time.

Napoli apart from Higuain, I like Mertens(pandev is on the bench) and Gilardino to score. Difficult game for Napoli tonight but still home win for me.

    have a good evening

  192. Stormin 10 years ago

Just a bit Alex haha. Very happy it came in for you would have preferred a couple Elazigspor goals after Fenerbahce scored to make it easier on your health!
Was just going to take Hull first goal before 80 at 8/15 and they score! Reckon they will score another before h/t but not so confident now

  193. honda 10 years ago

  194. Luca 10 years ago

Be surprised if Sheffield wed have a shot on target at this rate…

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Luca, it sure is a poor start. Strange when they’re so desperate to set up a tie with the Blades. Higuain, however, has scored first to ease my pain.

  195. Pak67 10 years ago

Hi guys, bit of advice please, waiting for espanyol/villareal draw for £200 profit on 3 draws parma & fenerbache won :) how would you suggest to cover double chance pays 1/4 not much value there, placed in shop so no cash in option either

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Pak67, as you say 1-4 is rubbish so try to cover it inplay. The longer it stays 0-0 the higher the price on the double chance.

  196. Andrew 10 years ago

Well its only Genk v Waasland Beveren that are ruining my Belgian goal line but other than that some quality tipping on the site today, saved my bacon anyway! All over thechief’s tips as well, added the Clausura to my blacklist last night but other than that I think im starting to look forward to some of the late night action, particularly the Colombian A and B which are proving profitable.

In closing, come on Sheff Wednesday for a class night!

    Andrew

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

4 in 30 minutes Greg, no problem. Game was switched to Malaga and kick off moved to the evening, I want my bet VOIDED!!!!! My 5 goal prediction was based on an afternoon kick off and the game not being switched ;)

  198. Alex 10 years ago

    Kortrijk 3-1 Mechelen

    • honda 10 years ago

      Decent :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Hsta, hope a few were on – tipped Higuain without being sure he’d start though with the injury problems he had. Need Wednesday to get a kick up the arse at half-time and come out firing.

    • Andrew 10 years ago

On the plus side Mr F, Charlton have been poor in the second half this season in the sense that they tend to concede a lot after the hour mark. Heres hoping for a game of two halves!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Andrew, yeah fingers crossed. Playing like donkeys at the moment. Luckily for me Higuain’s not a Donkey.

    • Hsta 10 years ago

Was a decent tip, he’s done well for Napoli this year.

Hope Wednesday sort it out for everyone, I thought they’d have started better than this

  208. Jim 10 years ago

    Awesome Alex

  209. Andrew 10 years ago

Just a quick heads up for anyone watching Cologne v Greuther Furth. We all remember how leaky the away sides defence is but watching the game (currently 1-0) id say theres definitely another goal in this one. Currently 4-7 for over 1.5 match goals but id expect that to shorten to evens soon and expect a second goal as the second half is starting to open up a bit.

  210. Damo 10 years ago

Lokeren goal secured a nice 5 fold over 2.5 goals bet. Good day/evening so far! Might take a look at SA for bet 4 whilst the luck is in.

  211. PeteT 10 years ago

Second goal for PSV reserves – just need one more to keep the Top Treble on track. They are making hard work of it tonight!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

PeteT. took that one on stats alone – so hopefully we’ll get another.

  212. Stormin 10 years ago

Just put the a bet on the wrong game. How you say? Watching Napoli game on bet365 and didn’t realise I had the sheff wed game open on the left and as both were 1-0 I looked at over 1.5 match goals and odds were great so put it on. To my surprise I checked my bet 10 minutes later to check it and seen I bet on the wrong game!! Going on chat see if I can void it

  213. Marky mark 10 years ago

Andrew r u watching game online??? got -1 koln

    • Andrew 10 years ago

yeah marky mark, on 365 mate. Koln are definitely the more attacking side at the moment if that makes you feel more confident, heres hoping for you mate!

  214. honda 10 years ago

Done the same Stormin! Locking matches can lead to confusion!

  215. Stormin 10 years ago

I’m confident there will be a goal in both but if Napoli does and Wednesday game doesn’t how sick would I feel

  216. Stormin 10 years ago

Just got it voided Honda. As much as I think both will come in and would happily do a double, the feeling if it didn’t come in and Napoli did wouldn’t sleep tonight haha

  217. Damo 10 years ago

Stormin, not too long ago I had a two horses to place picked out in my bet slip and had put £20 in the double section but never submitted. I was then watching a football game and bet on an overs, forgot the horse picks were already there and ended up with 3x£20 doubles with two horses and an overs goal line, and the overs goal line as a £10 single. Needless to say bet365 were not playing ball when I asked to void! The overs never landed but the two horses placed. I’m always doing daft stuff like that.

    • Damo 10 years ago

I might add that it took like 10 mins to get through to someone so by the time I had spoke to anybody a significant part of the remaining 20 or so mins which were left inplay had passed which was why they were hitting me with the t&c patter.
Good stuff you got it voided stormin!

  218. Hsta 10 years ago

I’ve decided to cash out on hull. I try not to state stakes but the cash out offer was so close to the win amount it wasn’t worth it in a cup game for me.

    Today summary:
    1 point – Higuain fgs – WIN
2 point – Hull win – WIN (ht cashed out)

New week rolling tally from today.
    Start: 3 points
    Current: 7 points

  219. Jake Hicks 10 years ago

Mr F, what was the Waasland Beveren KRC Genk U21 final score?

  220. clean the bookies 10 years ago

Raal glad someone finds it funny

  221. Stormin 10 years ago

Very fustrating Damo. The guy on chat quoted the rules but said he would do it as a gesture of goodwill so was pleased. Do believe there will be 1 or 2 more in the Wednesday game as they will go for it now but just couldn’t take the risk

    • Damo 10 years ago

I got them to void a bet a few days prior to that as well which didn’t help my case. I mentioned it on here actually, Ath Mad to win and Costa fgs when I thought it was Costa anytime, it ended up coming in after they voided it as a goodwill gesture! Typical :)

  222. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Fancy mertens to score anytime here. Took a small punt.

  223. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Small punt on Brighton to score 3rd. Could change the game if they do.

  224. Andrew 10 years ago

    And theres the second goal!

Unfortunately Marky mark, its an equaliser mate, hope that’s not too much of a coupon buster for you

  225. Stormin 10 years ago

Funniest thing now is odds on over 1.5 goals in Napoli game isn’t as good as what the Wednesday game was so will leave it! No more bets for me tonight then haha unless I find something I like with value or someone on here posts. Might go Napoli to score again as look good from what I’ve seen but after what’s happened I have in the back of mind Wednesday game seeing a goal and Napoli not. Think I will quit for now. Nice profit tonight and got champs league tomorrow! Need a breather

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Stormin, you got the Wednesday goal you didn’t want but I needed.

    • Stormin 10 years ago

Hope they get 2 more for your now Mr F. Always follow your SS and listen when you advise to cover etc. Decided to take todays in a double for small stakes with Hull over 1.5 team goals. That was 6/4 and flew in. Not confident but very much a chance to pull back at least a draw. Have to go for it and very much can see at least one more goal before full time unless Charlton can control the game. Can’t comment on it however as watching Napoli game

  226. Luca 10 years ago

    Get in 1-1

  227. Andrew 10 years ago

Don’t really get to claim a tip, so im taking that one as it was a tip haha!

Cologne v Greuther Ferth over 1.5 match goals – 4-7 WIN

Come on Wednesday, for a beautiful night!

  228. craigyboy 10 years ago

After a poor start I get the impression Wednesday are starting to impose themselves. Come on the Owls!

  229. PeteT 10 years ago

Anyone know exactly what happened to the Waterlooville match Alex tipped. If PP when will it be re-played? Arguing with some numpty at the moment who says as long as the match is replayed at any time in the future bet still stands.

I always thought it was 72 hrs or similar – and I doubt they’ll replay in that time anyway ….

    • Damo 10 years ago

If they announce when the match will be played again within a certain time (think it’s usually 24 hours or whatever) and that rescheduled time is within the same week the bet will stand but that rarely happens. You will get a refund tomorrow at some point.

    • PeteT 10 years ago

Cheers Damo. I think I’m speaking to the same numpty that Raaljaca had the other day!

They told me the game might be played later tonight – oh ok, 10pm kick offs …. mmmm, I don’t think so!

    • Damo 10 years ago

No worries, those times frames might vary a bit from bookie to bookie but it won’t be far off that anyway.

The guys on chat are murder to deal with, they just copy and paste massive sections out their faqs or t&cs.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

PeteT, depends on the bookie – some have 48-hour rules and others have up to five days.

    • PeteT 10 years ago

Yeah that’s fair Paul (let’s be honest its’s unlikely a match will be replayed that quickly but it makes sense). What I object to is “for your convenience, as long as the match is re-played the bet will remain on your account pending the event taking place”. When I asked how long they wait they said “given it is a league match it will be played at some point before the end of the season of the relevant league however we have no specific timescale as customer feedback is that customer’s find it convenient to leave the bet in play”.

You and I (and everyone else here!) know that’s not practical but unfortunately the person on live chat is adamant!

      **Groan**

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

PeteT, their rules should state how long you have to wait. Ask them to quote them to you.

    • PeteT 10 years ago

I’ll take that up tomorrow. I gave up on the live chat in the end as there’s only so much I can take before I lose the will to live!

Hopefully they’ll have it credited by then anyway …..

  249. craigyboy 10 years ago

Was the FA Cup draw not on the Sunday the day after the original game between Wednesday and Charlton was due to take place. I can’t help but think all the added expectation has helped Charlton tonight.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

craigboy, it was. But remember when the draw was made Sheffield Utd were 1-0 down to Forest at half-time and the draw fired them up.

  250. andyw 10 years ago

  251. Fitba Tips 10 years ago

its a very unpredictable league so finding the right team at the right price is the way to go. If you lay, opposing favourites would probably return ok. Will be placing bets on it most weeks

  252. Jake hicks 10 years ago

1 each is magic great news! Cheers Alex. Aaaaaaahhh….

  253. cooldude 10 years ago

I used to bet on it but stopped. Some of the games are just nuts, like both teams just all out attack for 90 mins no defense. Im a rovers fan myself, and you?

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

After last season it’s Dundalk all the way. Big fan of Stephen Kenny too. I think Scotland lost out when he went back to Ireland.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

Last season most fans were complaining that it had become quite defensive, most teams playing a single striker and packing the midfield. the interesting thing about the LOI is the claim that a lot of clubs can place on being the “biggest” club. Lots of sleeping giants like Shebourne, Derry, Cork and Dundalk until last year. Sligo are relatively new to the top table but unbelievably progressive and an impressively run communtiy club who attract big crowds.

Rovers I think dominate the trophy haul and benefitted finaancially from a lucrative European run a few years back but I hear murmurings of a lack of sustainability. They are still spending though. Most clubs run right to the wire and insolvency events have been almost annual for a number of years. All it takes is discovering a hidden gem or a young coach to turn things around. that brings the crowds back and a few years of sustainability. Problem for most clubs is a high player turnaround year on year with a lot of players known to go from club to club and turn out for a “new” club for the 2nd/3rd/4th time.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Fitba when is the league starting back?

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

Most games on Friday/Saturday/Sunday so I believe the opener is live on Irish telly Friday week, Derry home to rovers

  257. Damo 10 years ago

GIMNASIA LA PLATA VS. BELGRANO (00:15)

    BTTS 11/10

Goals in Argentina are usually scarce but this looks like it has a great chance and I’ll be taking a shot with low stakes.

  258. cooldude 10 years ago

Dont know nothing about him really

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

      Cooldude

      About Stephen Kenny?

Wrote a blog about him last season having backed Dundalk for the title at 33/1 and that was a close run thing. Wont be getting value like that on them this year though. I am thinking Sligo but it could be anyone of them, Rovers, Pats, Dundalk and whoever else might pop up unsuspectingly. Big things were fancied of Cork last year but they failed to impress so they also have a point to prove.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Ty fitba and Dudes. Is the legendary Joe Ndo going to go again this season? :) he must be 40 now

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

he played last season so why not. Pretty sure Pat Scully played for Rovers into his 40s back in the day.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

dudes, last season I used to back plenty UCD, Bray and Drogheda games for both to score. Avoided most Shamrock and St Pats home games as they had tight defences. Reckon this season the same 3 will be worth following goals wise and also Athlone who are now in the Premier. I have been to Athlone and Dundalk games years ago as my cousin was a Dundalk supporter but lived in Galway.

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

Picked UCD to beat ROvers last season at 9/1 (the only time i backed them). Rovers were draw Kings, Dundalk comeback kings and Away Wins, Pats WTN kings.

Rovers have to make a better fist of it this year, their outlay is massive. Most teams are p/t so the full timers should always have an advantage.

been to Oriel Park (Dundalk), Tolka Park (Shelbourne), Dalymount Park (Bohs – remember Bohs?), and the best named park in the World, Hunky Dory Park (Drogheda).

Mr f there were 2 match result games included at evens odds. Prob should have permed though. Although two outta 3 winners odds were evens

  267. Kev 10 years ago

Johnny I’m pretty sure his two on Saturday lost. I was on them both. His winner was a personal selection he didn’t post, I’m sure he said he wanted to email mr f the slip

I easily guess Ndo is the oldest player in the league!!

    • Fitba Tips 10 years ago

Apparently he is 37 and was on the subs bench tonight. Not sure if he made an appearance

  270. Johnny J 10 years ago

thats right i noticed it on sunday kev, bet it was belter

  271. Kev 10 years ago

    Damn Villarreal! :(

  272. Johnny J 10 years ago

i know mr f i see you perm and most guys do the same, i normally just wack a 5 on and hope for the best :)

now you can mix it up abit it seems a little easier than straight S&W…..better watch what i say here not curse myself :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Johnny J, when the odds are high perm them. Look at what your treble would have paid even for £1.25 unit stakes – total cost £5.

  273. andyw 10 years ago

Kev u may want to go slap whoever just missed that pen. Thats like my luck currently

  274. Kev 10 years ago

Espanyol missed a last min pen! :(

  275. Kev 10 years ago

    Yeah Garcia too!! :@

  276. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Can’t believe Garcia missed that!! Theres my tip of the day in the gutter ) :

  277. thechief 10 years ago

HULL TO BEAT BRIGHTON 10/11 WON
    FRYATT TO SCORE 11/5 LOST
    HULL O1.5g 11/8 WON

    :)

Few games to look at tomorrow, including Man united in the champions league. I will be looking out for Greg tipping Motherwell then lumping on St Johnstone haha.

    • PeteT 10 years ago

Good call chief! I felt confident Hull would win and score a couple of goals but I still think Brighton gave a decent account of themselves. Shame Fryatt didn’t come in but I still think he played really well and 2 from 3 made me a nice profit on the evenings match.

      Thanks as always, Pete

  278. Kev 10 years ago

Shaun I was waiting on 500 for the draw :(

  279. Johnny J 10 years ago

thanks for the advice mr f, point noted i should be more shrewd when it comes to that type of high odd betting…

and win sommat than lose it all

  280. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Kev sorry to hear that m8. Really unlucky. When a bets so close u wish it was so far. Be easier to take if a team your on gets thumped 5-0 or a player your on never has a shot on target. Oh well there always tomorrow bud. I won’t be betting on Garcia for a while!!! ( :

  281. Alex 10 years ago

Greg – My tips are all written up and ready. They include two of the games you’ve mentioned! One of the tips is exactly the same!
