ELGIN brought a decent Super Single up yesterday and tonight I'm looking at Stevenage in League One.

I don't think they'll be too distracted next week's FA Cup replay with Spurs as they try to keep up their hunt for a play-off spot away to Notts County as long as new-boss syndrome doesn't kick in straight away after the appointment of Keith Curle.

As new sponsors of this column I'll be quoting Unibet's odds for each of my lines (where they have odds available). You can claim a £20 free bet when you open an account at Unibet via this site.

    Good one Mr Fixit!

I’m sure your hamster will pick as many winners as the dog last week.

I’m having a go with your Super Single again. Hoping for three in a row this week.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Me too. I think much depends on how Notts County respond to new boss.

I don’t usually touch early ko’s but fancied st ettienne -1 on the handicap at 13/5 with lille in a double, nice payout of just over 9/1. Would have had city too but didn’t get the bet on until 5.15 and of course city were already winning by this point!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Luke, I had City and St Etienne who were a great bet. Wasn’t sure about Lille so left it alone but well done.

  11. Ross A 12 years ago

Had a tenner on him to score anytime . Should have been more adventurous and went first scorer

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Ross, a win’s a win. Just had a wee feeling about Mulgrew but with Stokes and Hooper on the park anytime scorer’s probably the safest bet.

  12. Eric 12 years ago

No joy with tonight’s Super Single.

    Can’t win ’em all.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Eric, it was a strange night. Not many goals about, barring the Motherwell and St Etienne games, then very late ones from Basel, Marseille and Notts County.

  13. Luke 12 years ago

Yeah I wasn’t overly confident on lille but knew they are by far the better side and on paper, should win the match! Having looked at the times of the goals in the st etienne game, they left it late to win, let alone win by 2.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Luke, yeah but St Etienne got there in the end. The boy Aubameyang who got a hat-trick is a decent player.

  14. Luke 12 years ago

Can’t say I’ve ever seen him play, or even heard of him before tonight! Scored one less tonight than torres has all season!! Gutted I don’t bet on Chelsea matches, but least rest of you are making profit at Chelseas expense! Even this weekend I’m not convinced Chelsea will beat bolton! The team is in dire need of some major inspiration, and I was hoping Drogba would provide it last night, but unfortunately he was just as bad as the rest! The players aren’t ever going to perform for AVB, and so I would advice punters continue to look at backing Chelseas opponents in the ‘draw no bet’ and ‘double chance’ markets.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Luke, remember the name. I noticed him at the African Nations when he scored in all of Gabon’s group matches and looked sensational. He’s still young but has moved to St Etienne on a permanent deal after being on loan from AC Milan. Reckon Milan will regret selling him so cheaply.

  15. george 12 years ago

gutted crawley let me down arrhh. I had basle , marsielle ,celtic ,st etinne, gateshead, notts county, man city. GUTTED.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

George, unlucky with Crawley but a good line. So many tight-looking games last week if you take away Celtic, St Etienne and Arbroath. Yours is one that would have been worth perming.

  16. Luke 12 years ago

Another player that may have slipped under the radar from all the big teams in Europe maybe! Until one of the bigger clubs come calling in the next year or two which is inevitable if he can keep form going! Paul, if you had to put money on who the Chelsea manager is likely to be at start of the new season, who would you go for?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Luke, he was at AC Milan remember so had already been signed by a big club. As far as Chelsea boss position goes it’s a tough one. I’m sure Abramovich has someone in mind if he decides to let Villas-Boas leave and it will have to be a big name. If I was him I’d be trying to get Guardiola with talk he may be looking for a new challenge at the end of the season.

  17. Luke 12 years ago

The Chelsea managerial job is most definitely a new challenge for him! That would be one heck of a coup if could persuade him to take over from AVB! I would’ve loved to have had Hiddink back, but unfortunately we left it too late!
