I WENT with a big Super Single in a bid to wipe out the losses and it worked – until I added a second 1pt bet on Theo Walcott to score first after seeing the Arsenal starting line-up.

My 9pts bet was on Arsenal -1 and Newcastle to win and while the Gunners weren't great I always thought it was going to land. So after a difficult start to the month I'm just 0.6pts down on the Super Singles.

It's time to address the accumulators now and hopefully I'll pick some winners on Tuesday. Jordan, whose Newcastle to score 2+ bet was a winner, has already posted Sheffield Wednesday to score 2+ and they look one of the bets of the night at home to Brentford.

Greg's nap won last night although he didn't get his late goal at Newcastle so it was a decent effort all round.

As well as Sheffield Wednesday I reckon Derby to score 2+ at home to Burton is a solid bet and I'll be looking at FA Cup heroes Millwall at home to Chesterfield and Lincoln at North Ferriby. Both should win if they don't have reactions to their weekend successes.

Other sides I like include Huddersfield at home to Reading, Southend at Peterborough and Wycombe at Colchester as well as Livingston at home to Albion Rovers in Scottish League One.

I've posted a separate Champions League preview and quite fancy Monaco not to lose at Man City and Atletico Madrid to do likewise at Bayer Leverkusen.

There's quite a lot I like on paper tonight but I'm always aware there can be unexpected results midweek, especially in the English leagues.

After the success of last night's Super Single double I'm doing another but the second leg is tomorrow. I'm on Sheffield Wednesday to beat Brentford and Sevilla to beat Leicester in the Champions League. And with Sevilla's price dropping I'm posting early a SS for Wednesday – it's the one I have in tomorrow's Daily Record and it's Sevilla -1. I'll post a Champions League preview with Sevilla reasoning tonight.

The Owls are on a run of four wins and face a Brentford side whose only win six was against Aston Villa – and everyone's beating them just now. My double isn't too far removed from Max's but we have a lot in common.

While he spent Valentine's Day in Rome I took the missus to Roma (Clydebank's finest Italian restaurant) and later we could have been walking along the River Tiber if it wasn't for all the shopping trolleys floating in the canal.

Anyway enough waffling – I'm also adding a moneyback fivefold similar to what I did on Sunday when PSG let me down. I'm taking tonight's hot favourites – Wednesday, Derby, Millwall and Livingston as well as Huddersfield at home to Reading.

William Hill, Ladbrokes, McBookie, BetVictor and others refund the stake for one wrong but please check terms and conditions as max stakes differ. Also if non-league teams are allowed swap Huddersfield for Lincoln.

I'm also taking those five sides to score 2+ for one point and while I believe Monaco have a chance at the Etihad my only beat featuring them will be to score on one of the members bets.

Ditto on Wednesday, Mr F (Sheffield). Will add post in the morning.

    Sheffield Wednesday Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 10/11 @Boyles – 4.4 points

Could add Monaco to net but that one could go against the trend. However their performance against Arsenal leads me to believe they can score in Manchester too.

Probably pushing it here but fancy this too with a couple good prices for teams to score.

Morning all, it is your main man Max here. Hope your Valentines was good, I was in Italy and it is good to be home. Just flicking through I see some up and down days with A – League results taking a hammering for punters, and Barnsley failing at the weekend. Well done Mr F on the 9pt single/double.

I have a NAP and a NB to share with you all, it is over 2 days as I wont be around much today due to other commitments. My Nap is Sevilla & O1.5g. Leicester rested players earlier in the season (Vardy & Marhez at Chelsea) in particular seemed strange as they put all their eggs and anything else they could get into that basket in the Champions league.

Sevilla are a class side and who at home will be a class above Leicester on Wednesday. They are conceding goals for fun and Morgan & Huth are struggling and looking short of the pace in the Premier league games. I cant see past Sevilla & O1.5g at 4/6 Betstars.

That is tomorrow onto tonight, My NB is Monaco to score at 1/2 Various. They play attacking football and their record speaks for itself in terms of goals. They beat spurs home and away, and I expect them to find the net tonight. Man Utd fans will look at their ex player Falcao and Bernard Silva is worth considering, but as I am in for 10pts on Monaco to score, I have been asked, and so I will say for a point Lemar at 5/1 looks outstanding value at Bet365. I couldn’t put my followers or ANYONE off Btts in this game at 8/11 Betstars.

Millwall and Sheffield weds look short odds on, but I think they will probably win, however I will take them both to score include Huddersfield to net against Reading and that gives you a 4/6 treble at Boyles.

    Max’s Midweek Tips

Monaco to score 1/2 (NB 10PTS)

    Max’s score treble

    Sheff Weds
    Huddersfield
    Millwall

    (4/6 Boyles)

    Wednesday’s Nap

    Sevilla & O1.5g 4/6 (NAP 20PTS)

    Anytime you like for Max

    Lemar 5/1

Great night down the lane last night where Sutton were far from embarrassed against the mighty Arsenal, Despite Arsenal never being out of second gear the Sutton lads worked their socks off and can be very proud of their performance in this years fa cup.

Two bets I suggested yesterday was Roarie Deacon atgs @ 11/2 and the width of the crossbar denied this, my other selection a card before 40 minutes @ 5/6 came in thanks to an Arsenal booking.

Onto today any my bets are

    Dagenham & Redbridge over 1.5tg @ 8/11

Shouldn’t be a reason for it. Roar should be able to punish Muang Thong, as the Thai champions aren’t really the best defensive unit. Having said that “Messi Jay” has it within him to punish the Roar defence if given the right service.

I’m personally on Roar goals myself on this one, but didn’t get time to post here before kickoff.

Plenty of games in England’s lower leagues this evening and a number of them look to offer value – after weighing up the shortlist, I’ve narrowed it down to one match in particular…

    SPENNYMOOR TOWN VS. MARINE:

Spenny are odds on here and although I wouldn’t argue with their favouritism, the price is too slim and opens up value for Marine to at least make a bit of impact and I think they’ll do just that.

Look a little deeper into those 4 back to back losses and 5 defeats in 6 and you’ll see Marine have had the fixture list from hell: Whitby, Nantwich and Stourbridge occupy 3rd, 4th and 5th places respectively whilst Matlock are flying high in 8th with plenty of games in hand.

Prior to that, they played 14 and lost only 3 in all competitions including a 1-1 draw with Spenny moor just last month!

Spennymoor are a decent outfit but they are not consistent enough, scoring goals but invariably conceding…they’ve kept only 2 clean sheets in something like their last 19 games.

    Three selections to consider:

    MARINE TO SCORE…4/6
    ????

    BTTS…5/6
    ???

    BTTS 1ST HALF…10/3
    ?

    Best of luck ?

Walcott did the business last night as I was relieved to have avoided taking the handicap. February is turning out to be a cracking month even without the 365 offer winnings taken into account, so I’m hesitant to give much back in this final week. However, after much thought, I can’t resist the possibility of goals at the Etihad.

City have kept noticeably more clean sheets since Pep reneged slightly on his tactics when shifting Fernandinho to full back in a back 4. I say slightly because he is still forcing square pegs into round holes, with Kolarov deputising as a senior centre half and a bustling box to box midfielder playing at right back. I don’t see this changing with Kompany ruled out, either. Despite these clean sheets against the likes of West Ham, Palace and Huddersfield, City have yet to face a side of real calibre, in a good run of form.

Monaco are one of the highest scorers in Europe this season. I say this with conviction without the stats to back it up because they have simply been banging them in. Domestically, they’ve scored at the toughest of grounds (1 at PSG in a 1-1 draw, 4 at Marseille), while earlier in the season they put 2 past Spurs and 1 past CSKA in the Champions League (the game at Leverkusen became a dead rubber for Monaco). They have dangerous, attacking players, with Falcao finding his feet again and many a talent around him.

Much worse sides have found the net against City this season, both home and away. Only Watford and Bournemouth failed to score at the Etihad in the league, while Burnley and Swansea have both scored there in recent home games. There is simply too much value in this Monaco side tonight and, with their own inability to keep clean sheets on the road (just 3 in their last 15), City scoring is being considered an inevitability. I’ll be on the following at what I think is a good price:

Man City vs Monaco BTTS and O2.5 Match Goals @ 2.00 (Various)

Hi guys – been doing 8 fold BTTS for a couple of months now with a friend from work. Odds usually work out around 100/1 and we put a couple of quid each on our own picks for each other each weekend. Not won yet, but have come within 1 team a few times. Here is what I fancy for tonight:

BTTS in matches at the following gives around 135/1

    Derby
    Huddersfield
    QPR
    Sheff W
    Gillingham
    Accrington
    Colchester
    York

I also fancy BTTS at Maidenhead and Truro – a ten-fold gives about 380/1 – but left them out of the 8 as they have the lowest odds

Rocking with Huddersfield and Nahki Wells ?? again today as they try to keep up there push for an Automatic promotion spot to the Bpl. Huddersfield Town are unbeaten in there last 8 games @ home winning 6 and drawing 2. Wells has 9 goals to his name thus far this season after missing the early part due to injury. I am confident he can get #10 and help his team on to 3 vital puts vs another playoff contender in Reading.

    N. Wells 1st goal @ 5.50 (365)
    N. Wells Anytime scorer @ 2.40 (365) NB
    Huddersfield O1.5tgs @ 1.83 (365) NAP

*longshot for smaller stakes* Wells 2+ @ 8.5

    Man city Vs Monaco

Man City have conceded in 10 of the last 11 home games. Swansea, Burnley, Celtic and Middlesbrough have all came to the Ettihad and got on the score sheet.

Monaco are having a fantastic season, sitting top of Ligue 1. Will they fear man city defence? I don’t think so. They managed to score in there last 15 games home and away, and there last 6 consecutively.

Man City No Clean Sheet (BET365 1.44)

    Sheffield Wed vs Brentford

There has been a lot said about this game already and both teams are going in opposite directions.
Sheffield Wed have managed to score 2 or more goals in there last 3 games at home, while on the other hand Brentford have conceded 14 in the last 4 games away from home.

Brentford away from home have conceded in the first half for 5 games in a row, and an early goal here could spell big trouble for the defenders.

Sheff Wed Over 1.5 Team Goals (BET365 1.80)

    Adelaide United vs Gamba

Adelaide have had a terrible season sitting last place in the A-League conceding 14 in the last 6 home games. Isaias has just been ruled out for 3 weeks and as we know he plays a major part in how Adelaide set up.

Only Gamba fitness will stop them from scoring over 1.5 team goals.

    Gamba Over 1.5 Team Goals (BET365 2.10)

    Manchester City v Monaco
This will be popular tonight and rightly so. Visitors look bit overpriced and should give city a tough game tonight. Manchester City have improved their form but their defence has been shaky all season in premier league and that’s not good when you’re playing against top scorers of Europe! That’s right.. Monaco are top scorers of Europe and were the first team to reach 100 goals mark. City however are god for a goal or two at home. I like the looks of Sergio Ageuro to score anytime @8/11. Gabriel Jesus is out injured and this is Ageuro’s perfect chance to get his mojo back!

    Derby v Burton Albion
Derby are playing decent football at home ground and they should beat Burton Albion who have only 2 away wins so far (1 of them was against poor Rotherham). Derby have only lost 1 in their last 12 home games and that was their last match against Cardiff. They didnt go down without fight and match finished 4-3 to cardiff. Derby are scoring and conceding plenty (scored 3 and conceded 3+ in last 2 home games) I expect a derby win but I’m simply taking goals.

    Double
Man City v Monaco – Both to score
Derby v Burton – Over 1.5 Match Goals
    1.27/1 @bet365

    ADD
    Atletico Madrid to Score

    Treble pays 2/1 @bet365

Few bets i like the look of tonight, don’t have time for a write up of any sort but i’ve spent a while earlier picking these out and feel like they’re good value.

Colchester win and over 2.5 goals 3/1

    Leverkusen – Athletico over 2.5 goals 5/4

Huddersfield win and over 2.5 goals 15/8

Lincoln win and over 2.5 goals EVS

Singles and a small stakes accumulator best of luck to all tonight!

  55. nathanufton 7 years ago

@mr-fixit I think you’re spot on with the Derby to score 2+ tonight. The price is around 10/11 whereas Derby price to win has dropped from yesterdays 4/5 to 3/4 and now 7/10 ( bet365 ).

Before the last couple of matches, I’d of gone all in on 3 straight home wins, but we’ve scraped a draw after being 3 down at ht and we’ve given up a 2 goal lead, only for Cardiff to grab a 90+ minute penalty and sink us 4-3.
We’ve shipped 7 goals in 2 games at home, whereas Pride park used to be a fortress not so long back. Win to nil’s were the flavour of most Derby’s home matches and our form lately has not been good enough for me to justify betting on the win/draw/win market.

over 1.5 Derby goals pays 10/11 with bet365 and that’s my choice tonight. I also would not be surprised if btts delivers too. Burton have had some impressive wins lately.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Yeah the goals conceded were main reason for Derby 2+ instead of the win.

  56. snowster 7 years ago

Has anyone clocked that willie collum is ref in the champs league tonight at Leverkusen?! 9/1 for either team to score a pen and 25/1 for either team to miss one. Surely he has to give one?

@cockerspaniel well done, when I made my post I’d not clocked you’d picked out the pen markets earlier in the day. Good stuff. I made my money on sporting index at half time by doing pen in the bayer game. I guess the faith in Willie came good tonight!!

    Love it when a plan comes together – 34 minutes…1-1 ?

Stuck this up a couple days ago and I’m sticking with it for tomorrow. No shock how bad Adelaide have been in the A-League this season and now host one of the J-League giants in Gamba Osaka. The Wanderers found out just how seriously the Japanese take this competition with the Urawa Reds thumping them 4-0 in Australia yesterday morning (our time). That was the Reds second game in three days, losing their Super Cup game on the 18th. Gamba have plenty of experience in this competition in Adelaide, and despite fitness, shouldn’t have too many issues.

    **LOST**

First Bet lost after 5 winners.. was a good run
Looked Bang on when City scored
Wonder how many bets were killed by Derby and Wednesday

    Colombia Primera A

Deportivo Pasto vs Patriotas Boyaca in-play 2mins 0-0

This bet is definitely going against bookies expectations and recent form so take from that what you will but there always seems to be goals when these two meet and Boyaca have managed 3 goals the last twice they’ve visited Pasto

    Over 1.5 fhg @ 4.00
    Btts 1st half @ 8.00
    Boyaca over 1.5 tg @ 6.00

Looking at a second Night Owl and whilst I miss the NZ Youth League like hell sine all bookies dipped out, the Senior League has been absolutely rocking with goals of late…one midnight match-up that promises much…

AUCKLAND CITY VS. SOUTHERN UNITED (00.00 KO):

Top versus bottom and Auckland sit top with a g/d of +20 as opposed to Southern’s -15.

Plenty of recent H2Hs to draw upon, the most recent was a bit of a wet fart finishing 1-0 but the previous 11 all saw plenty of goals: 4-4-6-3-10-3-4-4-4-3-3…in fact, looking through the stats, Auckland have scored a minimum of 3 team goals in 10 of the last 11 match-ups!

I take the home side to win comfortably here and although handicap markets are a dangerous beast, this one looks sweet.

Two selections – both from Coral:

    AUCKLAND -2 H/CAP…8/11
    ???

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…4/6
    ??

Streuth – comfortable 3-0 lead but a Southern goal in the dying embers destroys the H/cap selection ?
