AFTER a sorry Saturday it was almost a Super Sunday.

I ended 2.6pts up thanks to Lionel Messi's late winner for Barcelona bringing up the Top Treble.

But I needed a PSG goal for a 10pts win on the fivefold and the stake is returned for one wrong.

Greg put up some great stats on corners in the Dundee v Rangers and landed three winners including his Nap.

On Monday it's Arsenal's turn to avoid being giantkilled as they head for non-league Sutton with the winners facing Lincoln at home. I know Lincoln beat Burnley and Sutton knocked out Leeds but I can't see anything other than a Gunners win.

Arsenal are 1-6 and a couple of bets that catch the eye include Arsenal to win to nil at 33-40 with sportingbet, Arsenal to win both halves at 19-20 with bwin and Arsenal -2 at 11-10 with sportingbet.

For a Super Single that is of course a double I'm on Arsenal -1 and Newcastle to beat Aston Villa. I'm sure Arsene Wenger will pick a side strong enough to win with almost a bye to the semi-finals in the only tournament they still have a chance to win.

Newcastle will return to the top of the table with a win and open a significant eight-point gap over third-placed Huddersfield. Villa are freefalling to the drop zone after four successive defeats and one point in 18.

I can't see how they can deny a side boosted by the return to fitness of top scorer Dwight Gayle (Marcus's pal) who is worth a look at 17-5 with Marathonbet to score first. And it's pointed out Scotland midfielder Matt Ritchie (I nearly said Andy) has scored in his last five matches at St James's so is worth a look at 27-11 with 888sport to net again.

My aim is to wipe out the SS losses for this month and I'm confident enough in the bet to advise 9pts – it doesn't mean you need to stake so high so bear that in mind. Also if things go as expected I'll be able to cover the bet.

Elsewhere there is a La Liga game between Malaga and Las Palmas so I might come up with a treble or possibly put my one remaining point on Gayle to score first or an Arsenal player once I see Wenger's team.

Mr F – I don’t normally follow the football bets too much but really fancied your 4pt acca where you get the stake back if you get one wrong.

I already have a BetVictor account so put £20 on it. However, since PSG inexplicably managed to fail, I thought I would be getting my stake back, only to find it was just £10 rather than the £20 I put on. To make it worse, it was classed as “bonus funds”, meaning I have essentially lost the stake.

I know I should have read the small print and I am not sure what it is like with McBookie (not Scottish so not allowed) but I think it’s a bit of a let down. I basically wanted to know how you got on with this offer, since last time I checked (about a year ago or so) you would have had 40 notes on that.

Oh and I think you put a typo in your summary; It was a 2.6 point profit for the day (as correctly shown by your totals).

Keep up the good work and will be back in a month or so on the Other Sports thread with some baseball picks.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I do a lot of my online bets with McBookie and their refund is up to £25.
From their site: “Just place a minimum five team acca on Win/Draw/Win market – and if one lets you down we will put the money back into your account to use as a free bet. Max refund £25 per day.”
However, I also have accounts at William Hill and Ladbrokes and both also do the moneyback offer.
As you say you should check the terms and conditions. I’ll look at those figures.

    • jaseos 7 years ago

Cheers Mr F. I rarely do accas but yours looked great value when you consider that 2 had to let you down to lose, which is why I had a punt. For that reason I never really look at those offers in detail, even though I have those accounts active!!

Going to try and win more than my £20 back by putting the bonus tenner on your 9-pointer and adding Jong PSV and Breda to both score.

      Good Luck!

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

To be fair none of the fivefold should have let us down but I’ll remind everyone – anytime you accept an offer or do a special bet check the terms and conditions.

    Union Espanola – over 1.5 team goals @ 2.0 (2PT) – WON

Easy as you like, came in early in the 1st half. Maybe I should stick with the Chilean league instead of the A-League. Been more consistent of late. 3 tips, 3 wins.

  7. Jordan 7 years ago

Small interest here. Two ex Premier League teams in Newcastle and Villa who have clearly dealt with relegation differently. Newcastle had to come back from behind at Norwich last wee but dominated the game. Villa meanwhile were handed their fourth defeat in a row in a 3-1 loss to Barnsley. That makes it seven losses in eight and I can’t see them getting much against the best scoring team in the league. Sometimes Newcastle throw up a surprise but hopefully its not tonight. Can imagine this will be popular.

    Newcastle Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 43/50 @ Marathon Bet – 5 points

Picked out a few teams I like to score at decent odds, so have a look for yourself if you fancy them as they aren’t from leagues I’m familiar with.

    Randers – Denmark
    Wohlen – Switzerland
    Alessandria – Italy
    Malaga – Spain

Zlin in the Czech Republic too. But take note Zlin and Randers are just back from their winter breaks.

  8. robf 7 years ago

Really liking the look of Arsenal @ – 2 vs Sutton tonight. It will be just the sort of game for the likes of Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain to shine in as they are well known flat track bullies. Arsenal could quite conceivably run up a cricket score.

The main game today for me is the huge clash in the Southern League Central Division where mid table Beaconsfield Sycob entertain rock bottom outfit Petersfield United. The away side have accrued just 9 points all season and will be unlikely to add to that here. Bet365 go 4/6 on Beaconsfield h/t-f/t. Definitely one for any acca.

  9. bullseye 7 years ago

    England FA Cup 19:55
Sutton Utd vs Arsenal – total goal minutes = over 190 minutes 6/5 Bet365 **NAP**
    ————————————————————————————————–
    Turkey Super Lig 17:00
    Trabzonspor vs Alanyaspor – over 2.5 MG’s

    Italy Serie B 19:30
Verona vs Spal – over 2.0 goal line

    Double 8/5 Bet365 **NB**
    —————————————————————————————————

Whatever team Wenger chooses to field I think they will ultimately prove too much for Sutton to deal with and they could end up winning the game by quite a substantial margin. A lot of the potential goals may arrive in the 2nd half when Sutton start to capitulate especially the last 25 minute period of the half. If this is the case then the total goal minutes value could be high and certainly above the 190 minutes set by Bet365 so I think using this market is a good way of extracting value out of the match.

    Good luck all

    Morning gents,

It’s been a rum month but yesterday restored a bit of faith and whislt there was no 3rd goal in the Paraguayan game and Chiapas failed to net in Mexico for a small stake it was a decent enough profit on the day with 2/1, 1/1 and 10/3 winners.

Onto today and a few games of interest…

    SUTTON UTD VS. ARSENAL:

Two things that stand out for me in this game; the first is the volume of goals featured in Sutton’s Cup games and the second is the inclusion of an artificial playing surface.

Modern day A.S’s contribute well to games with goals – a combination of crisper passing; sweeter ball positioning for shots; a truer anticipation of first touch and a more secure footing for the standing leg when striking both moving and dead balls.

This will play to both team’s strengths but moreso to the Gunners in terms of their ability to play at maximum capacity – it seemingly doesn’t offer the hosts much of an advantage judging by some fairly rotten results against infinetely weaker opposition than the PL outfit they’ll face tonight.

    Sutton’s Cup games have been havens for goals with match totals as follows: 5, 0, 1, 5, 4, 4, 0, 1, 3, 9, 3 – I can see more added to this with tonight’s proceedings!

    Two selection worth considering:

    OVER 1.5 FHGS…EVENS
    ??

    OVER 3.5 MGS…5/6
    ???

    ****************************

BRADFORD PARK AVENUE VS. FARSLEY CELTIC:

County Cup clash here and though markets are currently limited, I reckon this one could well be a belter for goals!

BPA aren’t having the best of seasons and sit about 3rd bottom with (I think) the worst g/d in the NLN. Match goal totals are as follows for this season’s competetive games: 3-6-3-2-1-4-1-2-1-3-4-2-3-1-5-1-5-1-3-2-4-1-3-3-1-2-5-6-5-3-2-8-2.

‘Sparesely Farsley’ has a nice ring to it but these are two words that won’t be appearing in many sentences this season: 4-5-5-5-5-7-5-2-5-6-5-6-5-4-0 (both team’s keepers turned up)-4-1-4-4-2-6-5-0-3-4-4-3-3-6-4-1-3-5-3-2, match goals since October is enough to moisten the lips of even the hardest of goal-punters.

Like I said, limited markets and whilst 365 go 2/5 for 3+, I’ll wait and see what Coral and others have to offer but it is certainly one to keep an eye out for ?

Best of luck today lads ?

One for any Early Birds out there…

ADELAIDE BLUE EAGLES RES VS. CUMBERLAND UNITED RES. (08.00 KO):

10 of ABE’s Reserves last 12 games have seen 3 or more goals with 10 of the last 14 seeing 4 or more!

CU Reserves match goals make for pretty good viewing as well: 0-4-6-4-4-1-5-3-8-1-5 and whilst these are a couple of season’s old, the 2 H2Hs from the same time saw 3 and 4 goals.

At the moment today is a no bet day for me, off down the lane tonight for the visit of the mighty arsenal, arsenal are massive favourites and baring a miracle will put Sutton away but not without a fright or two, there will be goals that’s for sure but on the tight pitch I can see Sutton getting their chances and roarie deacon is the man that can take them, he is more than capable of playing at a higher level and tonight is his night to put himself in the shop window.

    COME ON YOU U’S

    Roarie Deacon Atgs 11/2

    Good luck with your bets

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I might be reading it all wrong but I can’t see how Sutton can give Arsenal a game as long as Arsenal are up for it and they should be.
They are now FA Cup favourites and it’s the only trophy they have a chance of winning although my money’s on Chelsea.
Sutton aren’t anywhere near as good as Lincoln and the only benefit is their pitch but a plastic pitch will be preferable to Arsenal than a muddy grass one.
I wish Sutton luck but I’ll be surprised if they score and if Arsenal don’t win something like 3-0.

    • big mac 7 years ago

I don’t see Sutton winning the game but on this pitch they will create chances that’s for sure, the playing surface is small which will help Sutton close down Arsenal and pressure them in possession, Sutton will be very physical aswell. Arsenal won’t find as much space to play as they are use to at the emirates but are obviously the more superior side and fitter side and that will see them pick Sutton off as they tire, but I see Sutton having a real good go in first 30 minutes and who knows.

    • craigyboy 7 years ago

I think it’s going to be an enthralling cup tie. The first twenty minutes I’d expect Sutton to be right in Arsenal’s face. Might be worth taking Sutton to score early doors. Obviously I’d expect Arsenal to prevail but for interest I might take Sutton to score in the first twenty minutes, should be around 20/1 i reckon when it comes in-play.

There’s the potential for Arsenal to not fancy this and it may take them half an hour to get into their stride. Leeds really struggled to create anything against them. I don’t agree with talk of Arsenal -2 or -3. Even if Sutton go 1-0 down I wouldn’t expect them to start throwing men forward until late.

Sutton to score in the first twenty minutes (odds not available yet), small stake.

      Main bet:
      Goal after 78.59
      5/6
      Bet365
      Bet365

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I think Arsenal will want it more than Leeds and we’ll be able to tell by their line-up.
Leeds fielded a weakened team and didn’t seem too interested in winning it.

    Afternoon gents

The Dundee V Rangers match went exactly to plan with it finishing 5-10 on corners, bringing in a full house of Corners bets! Was more pleased about finding it than the winners themselves! Definitley worth factoring for Rangers future away matches against the leagues bottom 6 clubs

It’s Monday and as usual there are a whole host of games from the Dutch and Belgian reserve leagues, im struggling for time today so won’t be able to look at those but I have see a Scottish game I like

    Ross County u20 v Hearts u20 KO 2pm

The young men from Dingwall have had a terrific season so far and sit 3rd with 3 games in hand! Nobody has seen more goal in their games than county and that rings true especially at home

There last 8 at home have ended

    2-4
    4-2
    4-1
    2-3
    3-1
    2-1
    2-2

And they come into this book off the back of hammering a decent Thistle side 6-2 away last week!

Should see some more goals here

some things never change for the last 6,7 years arsenal have been underperforming in the league finishing third and fourth and being also rans in Europe whilst fans call for wenger to go and the only thing keeping him in the job is the odd fa cup again it looks like its gonna be another one of those seasons for the gunners….

Interesting to see differing opinions regarding the big game at Sutton tonight, but I have to say I fall on the side of those expecting Arsenal to comfortably do the business. Arsene’s indications regarding playing a strong side are encouraging and given the Quarter Final draw last night, he should be looking to get the job done tonight with little bother. That being said, I have been swinging back on forth on Arsenal -2 @ 9/10 (Stan James). I mentioned similar sentiments when people began to doubt Bayern last week, and I think I’ll similarly be kicking myself if Arsenal win this 3, 4-0 and I’ve not taken the handicap.

Therefore, I’m going to wait for the line-ups. Usually you’re still able to get your money on without much of a price drop if Arsenal do indeed start strong. If Theo starts, and the Arsenal side is strong, these are the punts I have in mind:

Theo Walcott Anytime Goal Scorer @ 9/10 (Marathon)

    Arsenal -2 Handicap @ 9/10 (Stan James)

Just my take on the Arsenal game. They were pretty much knocked out of the Champions League last week, and the ‘Wenger out’ talk happened the very next day. Their next fixture is on the 4th of March and this could be their only chance of silverware bar Chelsea slip in the league. They ‘should’ play full strength imo, they’ll likely rotate a few faces but will NOT want a replay. They were 1/6 in places on the weekend and a bet that stuck out for me was their teams corners at Over 7.5 @ 4/5 @ 365. Lots of possession and attacks but Sutton could be hard to break down.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Best price now 1-9 and 1-10 which isn’t worth taking but I agree with you.
If Arsenal don’t win this Wenger has to go tonight.

    • Jordan 7 years ago

I’m not sure about tonight but there has to be a change at some point if Arsenal want to challenge the big clubs in Europe.

      Maritimo v national
      Bookings way to go here.
Last 5 h2h here at maritimo
      7 yellows 1 red
      8 yellows 1 red
      8 yellows
      7 yellows 1 red
      7 yellows.

This is a local derby, they don’t like each other and national are in relegation bother, so if they go behind cards will flow.

    NEWCASTLE VS ASTON VILLA

Excellent price available for Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie to score from outside the box which is where lots of their goals come from. Matt Ritchie is 13/2 with Skybet but 13/1 with 888sport. Jonjo Shelvey was 6/1 with Skybet but is price boosted at 8/1 but go with 888sport who offer a huge 15/1

    Recommended Bets:

MATT RITCHIE TO SCORE ANYTIME FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX @ 13/1

JONJO SHELVEY TO SCORE ANYTIME FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX @ 15/1

    Good luck everyone.

    Malaga v Las Palmas
Malaga are in trouble here, No wins in last 11 and No clean sheet in last 12 matches. In fact they only have 2 clean sheets this season and you’d have to go back to 26 november for their last win. Las Palmas have also suffered a dip in their form and have failed to score in last 2 games. I think both teams will score but I’ll take Las Palamas to score, priced 4/9 @bet365

Verona v Spal (Italy Serie B)
Verona got relegated from Serie A last season but they look like they will get promotion straight forward. Verona are top scorers on the league and average 2 goals at home ground. They beat Spal 3-1 at their ground and should do so again tonight. Verona only have 1 loss at home so far and are decently priced 1/1 @bet365. A win tonight will put them back on top of the league table!

don’t be such a killjoy deacon played a decent game and deserves a higher level than Sutton… Sutton put in a good shift and had their day in the sun that probably wont come round for another few years if ever and the best team won highlight of the night was the fat goalie eating a pie on the bench gotta love non legue good luck to them.
