FEB 2: SCOTTISH FOOTBALL TIPS

celticvrangers

I WAS spot on with Aberdeen to beat St Johnstone yesterday and Adam Rooney to score but who will be their final opponents.

The second semi-final between Hearts and Inverness is tougher to call after the Jambos’ recent revival.

They have won their last two in battling style and it’s difficult to back against them with ICT still to get going under John Hughes.

Hearts are huge at 4-1 with boylesports so I’m backing them on the double chance at 6-5 with bet365 in the belief they’ll at least force extra time.

The Edinburgh men are 16-1 with McBookie to win after extra time and 14-1 to proceed on penalties.

ICT are 4-5 at Betfred to win in 90 minutes and 2-5 at McBookie to qualify. They are 8-1 to go through in extra time and 14-1 on penalties.

Inverness will take heart from the fact they’ve beaten the Jambos 2-0 twice this season and will be pleased to have held on to top scorer Billy Mckay. He is 7-2 at bet365 to score first.

Hearts’ most likely scorer is Callum Paterson and he is 31-10 with McBookie. West Ham loan signing Paul McCallum is in the squad but unlikely to start.

Instead of playing for a final spot, Celtic tackle St Mirren in the league looking to extend their clean-sheet run. Fraser Forster is 1-2 with McBookie not to concede while Celtic are 2-11 at boylesports to win.

I’ll be on them at minus two at 6-5 with bet365 and Paddy Power having scored 15 in their last four – 4-0, 4-0, 3-0 and 4-0. Another 4-0 – as it was in Paisley earlier this season – is possible and pays 9-1 at McBookie.

Kris Commons is of course the first-scorer favourite at 5-2 with bet365 and Betfred while a defender who has been a threat all season, Virgil van Dijk, is 11-2 with William Hill to net at anytime.

For my scorer tip I’m taking one from left field and that’s rampaging full-back Emilio Izaguirre. The Honduran loves to get forward and has gone close a couple of times in recent weeks. He is 12-1 at Ladbrokes and William Hill to net and it is of course a 1p tip.

Correct Pa City aint the same when Augero is missing Chelsea will be up for this.

  3. MiniDuffman 4 years ago

Is Griffiths available to start? If he’s not i’m rather tempted by Commons to score 2+ at 12/5.

    • alva glen 4 years ago

He is in squad according to Sky Sports.

  4. raaljaca 4 years ago

Hearts at 14/1 on penalties is a decent shout Mr F. Reached the final last year via this route in most games!

  5. Graeme 4 years ago

What do you reckon as a supporter of your chances Raal??? Can’t imagine Inverness taking too many fans so potentially if hearts have 12th man it could count!!

    • raaljaca 4 years ago

Graeme, in my opinion our chances depend entirely on Gary Lockes game plan. If we decide to contain Caley and hopefully snatch a goal then we will lose, 100% certain, we need to attack them from the start without sitting back. Our team are all youngsters who basically don’t give a f*ck now and will get in anybodys face, we have nothing to lose and know any attempt at tactical football will see us beaten. We have some amazingly skillful players, still bit rough around the edges, but capable of playing fast attacking football and that has to be our plan. Extra time looks a big chance in my opinion and then it is a lottery basically. Mr F has Hearts on penalties as a tip and at 14/1 that may not be the daftest bet around.

Marky, I saw 14s so 25 could be wrong but sometimes shops have bigger prices.

Gd right up raal mate, gonna keep it small as its not easy to call but either team to win on pen’s for small stake still brings in a bit! Gd luck tho, although Inverness will want a derby with Aberdeen in final surely?

Mr fix do you think hearts will hold on Inverness down too 10 men

  21. Lossie jim 4 years ago

No disrespect to raaj but I’m hoping for ICT to pull through after being victims of an abysmal refereeing decision!!

  22. craig alves 4 years ago

Can’t break down 9 men in half an hour and paid the price, hearts would struggle to beat man utd on pens :)

    • raaljaca 4 years ago

Spot on Craig, we tried to walk the ball into the net in extra time, all our own fault.

  23. Lossie jim 4 years ago

Great extra time showing from ICT considering they were two men short!!

  24. Ricardo Blue 4 years ago

Got to say mr F that Hearts to win on penalties as a recommended bet is a little nutty don’t you think? Wouldn’t it be better having as “long shot” or something similar?

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Ricardo Blue, so Hearts to win on pens was a “nutty” bet. Was pretty close to being a winner though. My main bet on the Hearts game was Hearts or draw which came in. I had a little fancy for Hearts to win on pens and I don’t need to mark it long shot as regulars on here can work that out for themselves. Regulars also know how to cover bets and would like myself would have made a nice profit betting ICT to win on pens when it went to extra time and again pens.
