WILL it be ZZ tops or ZZ flops tonight? Zinedine Zidane takes charge of his first Champions League tie and it’s a tricky one as Real Madrid head to Roma.
Both teams sacked managers after mid-season blips. Roma have won four in a row under Luciano Spaletti and while Zidane’s side are unbeaten in now their only away win in five was at Granada at the weekend.
So while Real are odds on at a biggest 5-6 with bet365 there are enough doubts about their form on the road to turn down that offer.
I’ve got a feeling Real, who have won their last three in Rome, will edge this by one goal but as it was in the case of Aberdeen on Monday a better bet could be both teams to score at 4-6 with betfair.
Real have conceded in four of their last five while Roma have netted 10 in four successive wins. They’ve bagged four in four meetings at home to the Spaniards – but drawn a blank twice.
Edin Dzeko has been Roma’s star attacker this season and the ex-Man City man is 12-5 at Ladbrokes to net. Whatever happens tonight I’m backing Real to qualify but that pays no bigger than 1-5 at Betfred.
Tonight’s other tie is between two sides who won’t go any further than the last eight – Gent and Wolfsburg. The Germans should come through the tie and are 4-11 at Ladbrokes to qualify but may have to settle for a draw in Belgium.
