IT will be nice to win some money from bookies this weekend but most people who lose will be handing back profit from Friday.
It was a great day for site followers with the big Hibs gamble landing and Johnb’s nap again doing the business.
Only a last-gasp equaliser from Reims at Marseille which beat the Top Treble dampened the mood but in reality it was all about Hibs.
Bookies again priced up a Rangers game wrongly with bet365 going 7-2 when the prices were revealed on Sunday. I tipped Hibs from the minute Rangers lost to Raith in the Scottish Cup and have been talking them up all week on various markets such as draw no bet, double chance, minus one and to score two plus.
The fact Hibs went off as match favourites shows how much money was piled on them. I put up two 2.5pts Super Single on the game – Hibs to win and Hibs to score two or more and the winnings put a healthier profit on my monthly figure.
Saturday’s Super Single is Arbroath at Berwick. League Two leaders Arbroath shouldn’t be as big as 17-10 with bet365 and there is a chance Berwick – 19 points behind their visitors in the table – will be focused on Tuesday’s Scottish Cup replay at home to none-league Spartans.
Arbroath have stuttered a bit with three draws and a defeat in their last four league outings but played well before losing 3-1 at Hibs in the Cup last weekend. They’ve beaten Berwick home and away this season so let’s hope for a hat-trick.
Victory against Spartans will land Berwick a money-spinning last-eight tie at Hibs and that’s got to be something they’ll be focusing on.
For the Top Treble I’m on Bournemouth to beat Huddersfield, Queen of the South at home to Alloa and Stranraer against Peterhead. Bournemouth speaks for itself while Queens were superb in seeing off St Johnstone in the Cup last weekend and will be looking to close the gap on Rangers.
Stranraer face a Peterhead side without banned star striker Rory McAllister and in the last meeting at Stair Park in October they won 5-0 – as well as beating the Blue Toon twice away.
Derby against Reading in the FA Cup, on-form Oldham v Colchester in League One and Hearts at home to Livingston are added to Bournemouth and QoS for five homes.
My European treble is Bayern Munich -1, Real Madrid -1 and Sevilla and some of the reasoning for that is on the new goals tips thread where bets such as both teams to score now live.
The other tips should be done for small stakes – and please remember not to back everything I put up and keep to level stakes.
