FEB 14: FA CUP BETTING PREVIEW

MRF_10Bet_Liverpool5-1QPR

DERBY’s priority is clearly promotion to the Premiership and that was stressed by the signings of star turns Tom Ince and Darren Bent.

Hull’s Ince has hit three goals in two games and Aston Villa loanee Bent four in four. Today County turn their attention to the FA Cup and their squad looks strong enough to cope with an assault on the title and a potential trip to Wembley.

Bent should start in place of injured Scotland striker Chris Martin in the home clash with Reading today and Ince is also expected to play.

Derby have beaten Reading in the league and Capital One Cup this season and are a best 3-4 at bet365 to win with a revitalised Bent my pick at 5-1 at bet365 to score first.

There are three other FA Cup ties today and punters will tread warily after all the last-round shocks including Bradford’s win at Chelsea and Man City’s defeat by Middlesbrough.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists the FA Cup is a priority for his men this season and after beating Spurs in midweek I expect them to come through a test at Crystal Palace.

However, team news for this one is vital as the Reds have doubts over Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana. Daniel Sturridge could be stood down to give Rickie Lambert or Mario Balotelli a start but having lost just once in 21 I’m tempted by Liverpool at a best 11-10 with William Hill.

Stoke should beat Blackburn away with the Championship side making changes. I’m on draw no bet at 3-4 with Betway and Stoke are a best 6-4 to win with the likes of William Hill. I’ll have Peter Crouch at 6-1 with BetVictor to score first if he starts.

The all-Premiership tie between West Brom and West Ham is tough to call and looks a draw at 5-2 with boylesports.

With Middlesbrough and Derby in cup action, Bournemouth have a chance to return to the top of the Championship. Eddie Howe’s men are 8-15 at Ladbrokes and bet365 to beat Huddersfield and I can’t see them slipping up.

For a first scorer what about the impressive Yann Kermorgant at 5-1 with Betfred.

Yann Kermorgant was probably Bournmouths most dangerous player on Tuesday and much like the way Darren Bent has been playing for Derby, they both seem to be the main physical presence in the last 25 yards of the pitch to allow their main threat to mop up.
Kermorgant did such for one of Bournmouths goals with a clever chest-off and Bent bullied their left back into a mistake and layed off for Ince. Ince’s dummy before he shot was top class.

I’ve noticed with Ince, when theres an attack going off on the opposite wing, he always seems to be in the box ready to pounce. His positional sense is excellent.

I know Bent is the target man, probably will get a goal, but I really don’t like betting on 1st goalscorer because we’ve several others in the team that can do the business.

Both Bent and Ince seem to be the men of the moment, and although even Ward likes to pitch in with a handful, Hendrick seems to of picked up where Bryson left off last season. Hughes was our dynamo on Tuesday and the fightbacks always seemed to start from him.

Bournmouth ought to get 3 points tomorrow and I think they will, but Huddersfield are capable of upsetting the form books if they choose to turn up.

Also, Arsenal who will be less bothered about the FA cup than Middlesborough, so I can see Middlesborough having a real go at dare I say, a weakened arsenal line-up tomorrow. Arsenal want European football, and with Middlesborough finally getting to the top of the championship, I’m sure they will take the fight to the gunners – I can see Middlesborough getting at least a draw tomorrow.

I shall post Derby team news about an hr before kickoff and my pre-match selection thoughts.

    West brom vs westham

West brom draw no bet @ 4/6 with bet365

Well with tony pulis at the head of this team I fancy them to win but going to cover the win with draw no bet imo it’s a great price, home advantage coming of a great performance after beating Swansea 2-0. You could say West Ham aren’t no pushovers during this season but for me west brom draw no bet is the one for me today.

    Good luck fellas.

I said on the super single shortlist that West brom were far from impressive in beating my side brum last round and if West ham go full strength which they should given their league position (safe) then 2-1 on the away win is generous imo

Why would Blackburn want to rest players with a quarter final at stake?
It’s a kick in the balls to the loyal fans who dream of a day out at Wembley and their manager deserves grief if he does
Stoke worth backing then depending on team news
