ROD (Punting For Fun) is back on track after landing a treble at just under evens – Celtic, Man Utd and Chelsea draw no bet.

That puts his betting bank back up to 25.3 points while Long-Shot Lee is down to six and could be days away from losing.

Rod and Lee are playing to see which type of betting will profit over the course of the month with £50 of betting vouchers going to Rod if he wins – half paid by Lee.

Lee's single or accumulator must be a minimum 10-1 and Punting For Fun's can be as short as he wants but must be odds on.

Tips must be posted every day – if anyone misses out Lee will be deducted one point and Punting For Fun five points.

Slim pickings indeed Willie and not a lot to choose from footy wise.

The obvious ones look like Anderlecht and Galatasaray and i did do these two teams along with St Helens in a wee treble.

But for the Bank builder i am going for a double out of the 3 and after much consideration i have stumped for Anderlecht double chance against Gent and St Helens against Salford.

Anderlecht lead 2-0 from the away tie last round and should come away with at least a draw at home, only concern is the dreaded cup game but that is maybe just a personal slant on it as cup games ain’t been to kind on the previous bank builder and this one but since games are a bit thin on the ground the chance is taken on Anderlecht double chance here.

Next up are the current super league champions St Helens this is the chiefs territory as he is bang on with Rugby League and for anyone knew to the site he is always 1st to look for in Rugby League games.

So back to St Helens who play Salford tonight away and with the World Club Challenge on the 22nd feb the Saints will want to go into this match on the back of a victory and of course the players will want to impress to stake there claim,
Saints last game they beat the Catalan Dragons and after a web blowing start to the season in the first half Saints restricted Catalan to nil in the 2nd half.

Saints made 351 tackles in the game and have been working on there defence and it will be a tough ask for Salford who will no doubt find the going tough against a Saints side who according to the coach will be wanting every side to know it will be tough against this Saints D.

Regarding Galatasaray not being included in the bet i read in a turkish footy team news site that Galatasaray are likely to play a weakened side as they have an important league game coming up but how true this will be remains to be seen but it put me off from selecting them in the bet but surely they should get at least a draw at home ?

So todays bet is 8.3 points double on

      19:45 Anderlecht double chance

      20:00 St Helens win

      Bet 365 1.80

Just shows you about team news playing a weakened side but they are up 4-1 at half time.

I had a nice treble of anytime scorers yesterday. Aguero, cisse and van persie. 13/1, it would be nice to get one like that up on a regular basis.

    • Punting For Fun 9 years ago

Sure would simon but not as easy as it looks most times eh ?

Too true, i’ve actually had some success with -1 handicap accumulators on the short priced ones. Some of them this week are so short, like barca, that i think barca -1 is 2/13. I think they’re 1/28 to win or something daft like that.
I don’t like going any higher than -1, -2 or worse is much riskier.

Thanks for the comment PFF. Back to the Dutch league for the goals tomorrow, although I fancy NZ in the cricket. And well done on another win for the banker brigade!
