DEFENDING champ Tomas Berdych begins his title defence at the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam today and is 2-7 at Paddy Power to start with a
straight-sets win over world No.99 Tobias Kamke of Germany.

Berdych will be hoping for easier progress than fellow top five seed Grigor Dimitrov who almost came a cropper against qualifier Paul-Henri Mathieu yesterday before squeezing through.

Second seed Milos Raonic is 4-11 at Paddy Power to win 2-0 against Andrey Kuznetsov – who is 7-1 at bet365 for a victory – while closer to call matches include Vasek Pospisil (6-4, BetVictor) v Philipp Kohlschreiber (4-6, SportingBet) and Marcel Granollers (7-10, SportingBet) against Sergiy Stakhovsky (6-4, Betfred).

In the doubles Andy Murray teams up with Gilles Muller and the pair are 2-5 at bet365 to beat Roberto Bautista-Agut and Joao Sousa who are priced up at 15-8 by Paddy Power.

There's also first-round action in the Memphis ATP event with Samuel Groth taking on
Yen-Hsun Lu and Sam Querrey v Benjamin Becker among the highlights.

In cycling it's stage three of the Tour of Qatar with Bradley Wiggins the 6-4 favourite at Paddy Power.

There's also Championship League snooker and a few NBA matches. Post your sporting tips and chat here and good luck if you're having a punt.

You’re welcome buddy, but don’t thank me just yet, they might turn out horribly!

    • Attila 9 years ago

AD – I think on the Clay, Belluci has it all over him. Can’t ser him not getting a set. As for Posposil, he seems to be your most anticipated bet today, & from research I’ve done, its oc the opinion Kohlschreiber is struggling with fitness & may not be able to stay with him.

What do you think of Berdych & Raonic to win 2-0? They were too short to take outright, but with Raonic’s bug serve & indoors, plus the form Berdych is in, I can’t see either dropping a set.

    • Ad 9 years ago

Sorry mate, only just seen this. I would expect them both to win 2-0, but Raonicloves a tiebreak and he won’t win 100% of them. Still, should be fine

  4. Mac 9 years ago

Morning all, Ad what would be you best bet in Pospisil and Sousa match? Thanks
Atilla where you get price for win at least one set? Thanks

  5. GruntBunny 9 years ago

My choice for NBA tonight after 2nd winner in 2 days is Grizzlies -8 @ 1.52. Nets had Johnson play most of last night’s game and tend to lose big, when they lose – 74% by more than 8 points. Plus, taking Huggy’s view that home teams try that little harder when at home, an extra rest for the Grizzlies should see them cover at least the 8 points. Anyone disagree – Jordan, Atilla, Huggy?

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Grunt Bunny probably one of the only teams I’d touch tonight with Brooklyn playing last night, but Memphis did lose against the Timberwolves last time out. Only thing putting me off. Spread -11.5 now.

  6. OriaZ 9 years ago

Well, Mavericks losing wasn’t really expected last night.
They lost Tyson Chandler and Monta Ellis during the game and never managed to get back.

GS Warriors got rid of the sixers but it wasn’t an easy game and the low score reflects that.
Spurs managed to win the 1000th game for Popovich, but didn’t manage to cover the spread.
Hawks did the job as expected.

Quite a few surprises in the end last night and 2 losses for me.

    • Jordan 9 years ago

They lost Chandler as well did they Oriaz?? Well that explains that.

  7. GruntBunny 9 years ago

Good advice, Atilla. Will tread carefully.

  8. Attila 9 years ago

Gruntbunny – not sure they’ll cover the 8. This could be a trap game for Memphis, with their busy schedule & tough upcoming fixtures this foul be a let down game. And with the Nets hitting some on & off form finally they may be up for it. I think Grizzlies win by 3 or 4 but Nets to cover the 8 (sorry, lol)

  9. Mac 9 years ago

Thanks Ad great start learn from yesterday mistake just cash out on Posposil set and break up. Looking forward for rest of great day thanks

  10. Attila 9 years ago

Pospisil wins 1st set easy & looking to take it in straight sets. Good stuff AD!

  11. Ad 9 years ago

Sousa set and a break up. Cash out time again!

  12. Ad 9 years ago

Cheers lads, was checking the Pospisil score at changeovers in my match this morning, the day has started perfectly!

  13. OriaZ 9 years ago

    Ad, day starting perfectly indeed.

The 4-fold you advised yesterday is half way there.
Young at least 1 set (WON), Pospisil at least 1 set (WON).
If Belucci can get a set and Karlovic wins, that’ll be a nice 13/5 win!

Well yesterday went against me to say the least! Dallas’ Monta Ellis left the court three minutes in due to a hip injury and the Splash brothers barely got wet making a combined 11-34 attempts. Washington and the Thunder doing the job on their side of things. Unfortunate but not to worry. Apologies if you followed.

Thank god for CashOut. Sousa has lost it in the last ten minutes. 40-0 up to go 1 up in the third set and put the pressure back on Simon and he just switches off completely and gets broken. Not over yet, but it’s a relief not to be screaming at the screen hoping for another swing in this one.

  17. BusinessmanNL 9 years ago

Great work yesterday Ad, ty! Which 4-fold would you advice for today/tomorrow?

    • Ad 9 years ago

Haven’t got the time to put any more bets up for today mate, I’ll get some up for tomorrow later on this evening though. Bellucci and Hernandez are still to run tonight.

  18. DK 9 years ago

Cricket world cup starts on friday. Warm up games going on currently.

England play pakistan tonight and i cant see england losing, 8/13 with sky. Can either take them as a single or put them in a double like il be doing.

England and arsenal 1.08/1 double. GL if you follow

  19. Ad 9 years ago

Sousa injured, quad strain. Makes his collapse a little more understandable, but Simon’s improved level has been the biggest factor. Alongside Sousa being more passive than he needed to be. The injury might mean he hits out a bit more to keep the points short. Simon is missing nothing now so he has to go for winners. 50/1 to win from here. £1 of my profit will go back on that. You never know!

  20. Brian tennis 9 years ago

Decided against Monaco but Schiavone won well in the end. Backing against estrella is tempting. First set Hernandez at 16/10 also looks decent.

  21. Brian tennis 9 years ago

Gonna go with roger Vasselin first set instead. Purely because odds are better. 9/4

    • Ad 9 years ago

Must have a decent chance Brian. It must be 50/50 that he loses one of the first two sets. Monfils rarely strings two good sets together.

  22. Brian tennis 9 years ago

Thanks for the confidence boost ad. It is a bit of a gamble as you say. Id rather take Hernandez because he could win comfortably but I have never seen the guy play. Although I think you might be right about estrella Burgos suffering a dip

    • Ad 9 years ago

I’ve never seen him play either mate! It’s a half- blind gamble. But yeah, going from your first ever ATP title at 34, finally achieving what you’ve been striving for your entire career against a top 20 player, to a first round challenger match against someone you’ve never heard of could potentially be very difficult indeed. Then again it could be easy, but that’s why it’s called gambling!

    • Ad 9 years ago

btw ive no idea if he will win or lose but I wouldn’t want to be on Monaco today. De Bakker has scored 3 good wins this week and Monaco hasn’t won yet this year.

  23. OriaZ 9 years ago

    Jordan,

What do you think of this NBA double tonight ?

    – Charlotte Hornets ML : They have a very good record at home but not a good h2h record against the pistons.
    – Grizzlies -8.5 : Grizzlies should cover this spread easily.

    Pays 33/20 (or 2.65)

I’m tempted by the Bulls as well playing their first home game of the month and should have the advantage over the Kings who lost four of their last six games.

  24. Jordan 9 years ago

Oriaz it’s not bad but the Nets are so unpredictable it’s hard to estimate.

    I’m going for this

    Pheonix/Houston over 205.5
    Denver/Lakers over 192.5
    Memphis ML

    @ 10/11 @ WillHill

  25. Brian tennis 9 years ago

Gotta tip berlocq at 4/7. One of my favorite players. His opponent has shown some good form but berlocq is a mighty step up. Ad I seen you tipped schwartzman for a deep run. Schwartzman’s a hero aswell and I’ll definitely be tipping a fognini upset. However if berlocq does win his first two I see him as slight favorite against schwartzman. Should be a cracking match though

  26. Brian tennis 9 years ago

I thought the odds would be closer to even. Definitely not worth the risk at the odds given.

  27. Ad 9 years ago

It could all come down to whether Fabio is Fabio or whether the taste of success he got with Bolelli at the Australian Open will make him hungry for more. Will most definitely be going against him If the odds are good on Schwartzman though.

De Niro- did you watch the Goffin v Muller match? If so how was Mullers performance? Good enough to take against Dimitrov?

    • De Niro 9 years ago

      Ad
I did watch Goffin/Muller and was very impressed with Goffin funny as that may sound he looked fast and motivated, still not sure how Muller won that one.
Seems a lot of top players cant wait to be out of Rotterdam but thats the only way I can see Muller troubling Dimitrov i.e. if Dimitrov wants an out.

I know your not putting up the SS etc anymore, but you are putting up some suggestions.
If you could just post a bit earlier am happy to get on board with your thoughts for the day, i keep missing you due to time difference.
Not expecting too much so no pressure, just your thoughts keeps me away from football !
Ive dumped out almost 400 pounds on the football since youve stopped the SS.
So im happy to be a guinea pig with your suggestions – cant be any worse than the football is to me !!

klizan now 6/1. cover available for anyone on belluci.

  39. Ad 9 years ago

Annika Beck to win WTA Antwerp @ 33/1.

Beck is at her best on an indoor hard court and the draw here is one that offers some potential for an outsider to shine. Bouchard in the top half is surrounded by dangerous lower-ranked players – with Barthel, Zahlavova-Strycova and Cornet all in her quarter and Cibulkova in her half as well. She should of course get the better of them, but you never know. Beck hardly has an easy path herself, as 33/1 suggests, but I’ve already expressed doubts over Pliskova and that’s who she’ll face next if Pliskova gets past Lucic Baroni (which I’m hoping she wont!) After that, if it goes to seeding, she will have to get past Safarova, Giorgi and Kerber. On the face of it that’s a mighty ask, but all three of those players are very much capable of wobbling and choking and against someone as steady as Beck, who I’m hoping carries the form from her opener against Knapp forward, there is reason to be optimistic. Still, she could lose at any point between now and Sunday without it raising any eyebrows so this isn’t really a very solid tip, but 33/1 for a little bit of extra interest this week, pourquoi pas?

  40. Ad 9 years ago

Estrella v Hernandez cancelled. Estrella pulls out. He’s obv been partying too hard and agreed with me that he wouldnt be up to an easy challenger match after the week hes had!

    Thanks.

I have a five fold waiting on seppi to win.i am getting a good cash out value.should I take it as the mood seems to be back against seppi?ne advice?

    • Ad 9 years ago

I personally would take it yes mate. There is too much doubt over Seppi winning to risk it. He may well win, but ask yourself if you’d be confident enough in him winning to stake that amount on him as a single. I think Haase has a good chance.

  43. Ad 9 years ago

did you cover Klizan wet lettuce?? Bellucci had two match points then ran out of steam a little as Klizan stepped his level up massively. A disappointing loss, but the profit was there for anyone following.

131 points in the first half of the Suns/Rockets game. Daym!

  45. huggybear 9 years ago

    Bulls -9 and u197 was a great shout . Pity I missed out the u ….

  46. Jordan 9 years ago

Memphis win (not by the total as said the Nets are too inconsistent. Total smashed in the Suns game with 6 to play. All on the Lakers and Denver. So confident I’m not covering. Famous last words.

  47. Jordan 9 years ago

Nice one Huggy. Probably could have put the Bulls in my bet but never mind. 192.5 points in LA and it’s a good night.

  48. the wet lettuce 9 years ago

I cashed out when Belucci was a break up but 40/40 on his serve that got broke.

Rarely does a Cashout go in my favour but it did tonight.

    CHeers Ad nice profit again.
