THERE is just one Euro 2012 qualifier on Wednesday and it’s on Northern Ireland must win.

They take on the Faroes in Group C and although they are a biggest 2-9 at Blue Square even though they have a bit of a striker crisis.

Faroes have been cannon fodder for most opponents but in recent campaigns have started to concede fewer while not yet posing a major threat in the opposition box.

When Derry attacker Steve McClean this week changed his allegiance to the Republic of Ireland his name was added to Kyle Lafferty, Josh McQuoid and Martin Paterson as missing strikers.

So a team that has netted just three times in eight outings will once again put its faith in record scorer David Healy, a player who can’t get a game for Rangers.

Healy, however, has a fantastic scoring record in green and white and could be worth a look at
7-2 with bet365 and Ladbrokes.

Assuming the Faroes don’t score the likelihood is of the game going under. Fewer than 2.5 goals pays an attractive 5-4 with Stan James.

The Faroes are as big as 16-1 with Chandler while the draw is 6-1 at Betfred but I reckon the Irish will nick it 1-0 or 2-0.

Recommended bets

  • Under 2.5 goals (5-4, Stan James)
  • Healy to score first (7-2, bet365, Ladbrokes)
