Christmas is coming and I’m chancing to cash in early. Some will agree that 20 points is madness but its not that much to me considering the year I have had. Ultimately bet what you can afford. By no means safe bets as any serious punter should understand but not often I’ll put up 15 points on a double.
The only undefeated team in the NFL will be under the lights in the Superdome when last year the Carolina Panthers blew away their division rivals 41-10. On thanksgiving last week at the AT&T (another indoor stadium) they destroyed the Cowboys as well as Tony Romo’ collarbone and won outright by 33-14, despite the Cowboys being favoured by the bookies. All the Saints are playing for here is pride. Drew Brees has not looked like the elite passer over the last few weeks only putting up a total 20 points. Both of these games were on the road though so should be better in their own home, but ultimately should not be able to dethrone the only undefeated team in the league. The Saints have given up at least 20 points in 13 straight games, also the longest active streak in the league.
The Indianapolis Colts will head to the steel city for the Sunday night football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers who are coming off of a loss in Seattle which they feel they could have won if they hadn’t of turned the ball over so much. Matt Hasselbeck is 4-0 since replacing Andrew Luck for the Colts, but none of the wins are against opponents to scream about. The Colts have been out yarded (if that’s a word) in all but one of their games this season, and with Big Ben throwing for over 450 yards against Seattles top 10 pass defense, he shouldn’t have much trouble against the Colts who are 27th through the air. I think Hasselbeck can put up some points with the weapons he has, but ultimately a shootout with Big Ben on his own turf is only going to end one way. The Colts came here last year and left after letting the Steelers put 51 points on the board. Might not be that much but I think they’ll get at least 28.
