WORLD No.6 James Wade became the highest seed to exit so far yesterday when he was bumped by Stephen Bunting while title holder Michael van German showed his class to reach the last 16.
Van Gerwen's fellow Dutchen Vincent van der Voort and Raymond van Barneveld also made it through and today Barney is 2-1 against 4-9 favourite Adrian Lewis in a mouthwatering clash.
Bunting – after his heroics in eliminating Wade – is now the 8-13 favourite against 13-8 shot Michael Smith. Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson are both big odds-on to beat Kim Hybrechts and Cristo Reyes respectively.
And last year's runners-up Peter Wright aims to edge his way towards another final, with the Scot 3-10 against Andy Hamilton (3-1).

The highlight of the afternoon session, and quite simply a pick em kind of match. VVV has won 4 of the 5 meetings he beat Deano 4-2 back in 2012 in the last 32 at the worlds and won all 3 tv matches including a cracking match last month in the players championship quarter finals 10-8 that was littered with heavy scoring, and loads of maximums.
It is with the 180 market I start with as these are both heavy 180 scorers and the pace will suit them both. They both are iffy on their doubles at times so it should be a good game to watch with plenty of legs in it. I will be on O23.5 legs at 4/5 Skybet and O12.5 total 180s at 11/10 Coral. It looks like at least a five setter and maybe even going all the way.

Ouch… rough night on the bball. The Ice Hockey match lines saved me though. I’ve noticed that large + spreads pre match tend to land fairly frequently, like Jazz and Pacers last nights. The Kings + wasn’t a big enough margin.
Moswei, it just depends on the game. Some NAPs have been -2 or +2 and they won by 20, and others have been +10 and they were beaten by 20…its a tough task picking the right couple of games out of a big card, and even then you’re relying on them playing to form…
Kim Huybrechts to get more 180s than Taylor at 21/10 looks too good to me.
Attila couldn`t agree more , when i first started nba betting i was amazed how often the spread so close to final scores. take last night at ht in utah game i backed under 196.5 ( final score 101 – 97 i think ) lost by 1.5
They aren`t that close by guessing they know their stuff.
With the spread at 5/6 or 10/11 you are aiming to hit at least 3 in 5 for profit .

Wright to win and both player to win 2 sets at 11/8 @ William Hill for me. Wright is short considering the 2 players abilities! I think both will win at least two sets so the safer option may be over 5.5 @ 5/6 but for me Wright will edge it.
LEE M totally agree, I think Huybrechrts will take a couple of sets from Taylor who swithches to the 19’s too often to be prolific on the 180’s. If Huybrechts can hit 5+ he should win the 180’s
Hamilton v Wright is tough with Wright so short. I can see Wright wrapping it up quite quick against a still out of form Hamilton. Under the 180’s should be good with Wright only hitting 3 in his last match and Hamilton taking over 3 sets to hit his 1st in the last round. However Wright took out a 144 and followed it with a 121 in his last match, is a prolific finisher so Wright highest checkout over 120.5 at 5/6 with Coral looks worth a bet to me. I think that is a better bet than Wright on the handicap or playing the 180’s

Huggubear, any idea on the NAP yet? I’m not taking GSW -18.0 ill say that upfront. They have bigger games to concentrate on just after new years so I I think they’ll cruise it & 76’ers will cover.
IMO the nap would have to be Hawks -3.5 or Raptors +2.5. Then again, the Jazz -8.0 against measly Twolves xould be the smartest play???

Evening Guys, Darts bets
A missed double by Winstanley meant no fifth set and let me 2 maximums out from landed two winners after the total legs came up, but on to a great night of darts.
Lewis v Barneveld
It shows the strength in depth that these two are meeting at the this stage. Lewis took out hotshot Keegan Brown in the last round while Barney survived a barrage of heavy scoring by Jamie Caven to win on the bull. It is the Lewis heavy scoring that tells me he will win this game. It wont all be 180s but Lewis 140s will eventually hurt Barney.
Barneveld lost 3-0 twice when Caven had the throw on his sets, he couldn’t get close to him and the same could happen here, Lewis as looked good so far averaging O100 in both games. The bet I like here is O23.5 legs 10/11 William Hill. Even though RVB was nilled in two sets against Caven there were still 27 legs in the match, while there were 29 legs in the Lewis – Brown game. This looks a close game, and six sets look likely.

Bunting v Smith
I was very disappointed that James Wade didn’t turn up last night, Bunting found his scoring form but only averaged 93. Smith fell two sets down but rallied to beat Dolan 4-2 with a barrage of maximums and averaged 98.90. Again this looks like being a close tight might, I would be surprised if either one of them won in straight sets, I think we will see at least six so again I’m on O23.5 legs 10/11 William Hill.
I am not surprised the bookies make Bunting a odds on favourite, he is the BDO world Champ, but I quite fancy Bully Boy to win the battle of ST Helens. He cant afford to go 2 sets down again tonight, but unlike when he threw the towel in against Taylor, he refused to lose against Dolan. If Smith gets in front early I think he will win and he is a touch of value in a pick em match at 6/4 Bet365.
Bunting found his scoring boots against Wade last night, but bully boy is a demon on the treble 20, he hit Dolan with 10 and prior to that got 9 against Suljovic, I think he covers O7.5 maximums at 4/5 Various
