MY Super Single lost but I needed the Top Treble more and it provided a bigger profit.

All the sides I looked at on Tuesday won – Brighton, Derby, Liverpool, Aberdeen and Hearts – and I'm sure it will have been an expensive couple of days for bookies.

My 31-10 Top Treble was Aberdeen, Derby and both to score at St Truiden v Standard Liege and while I fancied Hearts to win for the first time under Ian Cathro Idecided to take the bigger price of Hearts and both to score.

I also tipped Aberdeen and both to score and Liverpool -1 and either of them would have been nice Super Singles.

The Daily Double on the app also won and the members bet needs a Partick Thistle goal to complete a fourfold. I like days such as Tuesday when there aren't too many games to study and it's a similar situation on Wednesday.

The big game is Southampton v Spurs in the Premier League and it's tough to call but I don't expect Saints to lose. There are four Premiership games in Scotland and I've posted a separate preview.

Celtic and Rangers could rest players ahead of their showdown on Saturday so I might add some advice once I see line-ups if I'm around.

I've tipped a low-scoring Celtic win and can see Saints taking at least a point against Rangers with both scoring.

There's not much else to look at so I'm putting up tips now. The Super Single is both to score at St Johnstone and I've got a double chance Top Treble on Southampton, Motherwell and St Johnstone.

    Evening gents

What a day for the favourites

Aberdeen, Derby, Brighton and Hearts will have made up a lot of trebles and 4 folds – Well Done to those who were involved

Tomorrow see’s SPL action and I’ll be at McDiarmid to watch the famous Perth St Johnstone entertain an improved rangers side

St Johnstone v Rangers KO 7.45pm

This is a really tough test for Mark Warburtons men but there are 3 or 4 things that’s stand out that are making me bet with my head here rather than my Heart

    1) We have the second best away record in the Legaue, but we have dropped so many points at home
To teams below us and struggling! 16 of our 27 points come away – just 11 at home! Other than a 3-0 win against ICT we collected just 1 point from matches against teams fighting at the bottom of the table ( Kilmarnock, Thistle and county All beat us and we managed just a draw against Mothwrwell!

    2) Rangers are on a really good run at the moment, waghorn is back in the team and scoring and they’ll be backed by 5000 away fans ( sold out) which must give them a boost when both ends are full of Rangers fans! And one thing you can gaurentee is we won’t keep a clean sheet

    3) Murray Davidson has been outstanding for us this season, he’s the engine room and the ball winner in our midfield but is suspended for this match

We are too inconsistent, are struggling to perform at home and are missing one of our best players – that coupled with Rangers improving over the last few
    weeks I think they will
edge us out – I wouldn’t be surprised if this finished 1-2

Back Rangers 1/1 (William Hill) (NAP)

    Australia 850
Melbourne victory v central coast mariners

Victory are in fine fettle ATM with 4 wins in they’re last 5 while the mariners have lost they’re last 3.
Ccm have managed 1 win in the last 10 matches between the 2. Usually I’m on over 2.5/btts but I’m not sure about a mariners goal. Instead, I’ll be looking at
    Victory -2 Asian 2.075
    Victory over 2.5 goals 4/5
    Victory over 3.5 goals 9/4

Derby Win and U4.5 Match Goals @ 10/11 (Betfair) ///WIN///

Add: St Truiden O0.5 Team Goals

    Double @ 17/10 (Betfair) ///WIN///

I’d completely forgotten about Truiden after seeing their early red card. Turns out they managed to bag two in the second half regardless to bring in the double. Not sure I like anything enough from tomorrow’s card, but will have another look in the morning. :)

  4. HullShaker 7 years ago

Cheers Greg/Mr F – smashing info…was just umming and arring over this and BTTS’ chances as part of a double…mind made up now!

    SOUTHAMPTON VS. SPURS:

The Saints have a fairly solid home record but without Claise – lost to a groin injury – they won’t be as solid as they could be/have been and I expect Spurs to exploit this on Pottechino’s return to St Mary’s.

Pushing for that top 4 spot means Spurs are hardly likely to want to settle for just a point and will want to make sure they seal the deal so a couple of goals is well on the cards.

    SPURS OVER 1.5 TGS…13/8
    ???

    ‘GERS VS. ST JOHNSTONE BTTS…4/5
    ???

    DOUBLE PAYS…3.72/1

Best of luck with all bets ?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Not sure about the Spurs bet as they’ve been poor on the road but after today’s results who is going to argue with you.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Was going to get out to the pub to watch Saints v Spurs but seems I always jinx pub games with shite 0-0 draws and low-scorers so might give it a miss ?

Have a look at Brough Golf Course for your East Yorkshire stop-off by the way ?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

OK will do – that’s Brough and East Riding on the list.
Last year we went to Penrith and that was good.
Usually let Ace pick em – usually picks as well as his golf tips.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

East Riding (of Yorkshire) is the area not a course…Brough isn’t bad and close for your drive.

Best courses within an hour drive are Ganton (near Scarborough) which is off the scale and you’ll pay for it or Fulford (near York) which has a pretty impressive pedigree too.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Magic – heard of Ganton but we ain’t paying through the roof.

  5. HullShaker 7 years ago

Just looking ahead through this week’s card to see if anything stands out – only a brief look but helps focus upon games on the near horizon so can make the most of the time I have to study when know I’ll not have much come the end of the week.

This one could be worth looking out for and is certainly circled on my shortlist:

    LEICESTER VS. WEST HAM:

I’d be worried if I were a Foxes fan – they are potentially heading for a relegation fight and are certtainly on the slide with no indicators of a change in their fortunes.

Lot of bad feeling and negativity (particularly towards Ranieri today) creeping into the club these last few days and after last year’s high, it seems many of the heroes have returned to their normal day jobs of being bang average.

Huth returns but still no Vardy and they could be meeting The Hammers at just the wrong time. Won’t read too much into the Swansea win as they are just terrible but that’s 3 on the spin and can see them taking the game to Leicester.

Like I said, just an early heads-up for me but can sense West Ham might just get something out of this one…really liking the 2/1 for a Hammers brace ?

  6. fraser51 7 years ago

Missed Brighton as I’ve just woke up after nightshift.

May as well side with the rest of today’s favs for some entertainment

    Liverpool
    Derby
    Aberdeen
    Hearts

    9/2

    *WON*

I would imagine the majority of punters were on any mixture of the above teams, an easy day on paper delivered. Wish i got on Brighton to boost the odds though!
That makes up for Newcastle letting me down on Boxing Day.

    ——-

Looking ahead to today, nothing is screaming out to me to back.

My team Rangers, i can see the positives and negatives on backing at evens. St Johnstone is one of the tougher away venues on the fixture card and are more than capable of beating anyone in the league on their day.
We have been on a good run of results, although Saturday was a below par performance and we were lucky to come out with 3pts, wouldn’t of begrudged the highlanders all 3. If it is a similar performance we will get beat, but if we play to the level of previous weeks then we will travel back down the A9 with the spoils.
I am looking for a much more improved performance, a confidence boosting win ahead of the Old Firm on Saturday.

Unfortunately i am not making the journey up, finish work at 7am, a week off work now after working over christmas, going to chill out and watch it with a few beers on the sofa.
I will be backing with my heart as not very often you get Rangers at evens.

    *Rangers – Evens*

Hi gents. Just throwing up a bet for Friday as nothing is taking my fancy until then. I’ve also added a longer shot as its the end of the year, and either way I will be 70+ points up for 2016. It probably doesn’t average out to much per bet or points staked, but its certainly better than showing a loss, which is something I have now manged two seasons in a row since posting my points totals here.

I have been unlucky with my penalty bets over the last two days getting two out of three on both days, still showing a profit tho.
I am doing the same bet today games at Inverness/Partick/Southampton, a penalty to be awarded in each of these games doubles and treble odds 3/1 10/3 3/1 @ Williamhill treble pays just under 70/1

    Morning All

    Melbourne Victory v CCM

Well, I am expecting a very comfortable win for Melbourne today who will be keen to keep up the pressure on league leaders Sydney, and have a great opportunity to do so against a very poor CCM side who sit bottom of the table.

CCM couldn’t even manage a goal against Wellington last away game and I think they’ll struggle today with Melbourne having the 2nd best defence in the league.

Where there are goals you have to expect Berisha to notch but he is far too short to do so especially in a game where he has the potential to become the leagues top scoring player in history. Instead, I’ll be on the kiwi messi.

Over 2.5 goals and BTTS no 12/5
    Marco Rojas ATGS 11/8
Long shot correct score 4-0 10/1

    Good luck folks

  11. kierons 7 years ago

@boomshackle I was just about to say that about berisha and to back rojas atgs even berisha to score 2 is way too short.

My longshot is rojas to score 2+ 6/1

    Over 3.5 mtgs 5/6
Even though this is one of the best defences in the league I see ccm getting a goal and it will be their only hope o’donovan at 7/2 atgs.
The only other player who has any chance of scoring past them is fererria at 4/1 but he is not the same player he was last season so good luck on that one. Correct score 4-1

    • liamw 7 years ago

@kierons @boomshackle thanks very much for the heads up down under – got on goals and Rojas double at 8/1 in play, wouldn’t have been near it so cheers!

Not had a chance to post much lately, its annoying when life gets in the way of betting! But thanks to all the usual folks for great tips, @hullshaker has particularly been on great form and I’ve also enjoyed following many of @wato ‘s 2-3 goals tips. You can’t go wrong with the likes of Greg, Jordan, MrF, KellyD and many others – there’s barely a bad tip on here these days, great stuff lads and lasses!

Enjoy the rest of the festive period folks and congrats MrF on a great site!

    St Johnstone v Rangers
    Over 3.5 Cards
    ODDS>>>1.66
Last 2 meetings were at Ibrox but still had 6 and 4 cards. In Rangers 9 away games this season 8 of them have gone over the 3.5 line. At Home for Saints its 6/9. Teams at home against Rangers have been picking up an average of 3.2 per game so this looks a good shot.

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

It is 5/6 sky bet for over 3.5 cards and 6/4 for over 4.5 i will be going for the 6/4 shot . GL

  15. cockerspaniel 7 years ago

I think Morrawell are vastly over priced at Inverness tonight they are 3/1 at a few bookies.

  16. cockerspaniel 7 years ago

An away treble of Motherwell . Dundee. and Rangers pays 29/1 bet365. This has a fair chance .

Berisha 2+ 7/4 Lost – surprised he didn’t even get one when the team scored 4!

  18. liamw 7 years ago

ICT can’t be trusted to keep a clean sheet these days, but I do fancy Caley to grab at least one goal at home. Struggling to pick a favourite bet for the match so I’m splitting stakes between:

    Motherwell 1 goal exactly @ 6/4
    2 – 3 goals @ evens
    BTTS @ 7/10

  19. wasclueless 7 years ago

Southampton, St Johnstone BTTS Double 2.3/1

  20. sean567 7 years ago

Not much to go on tonight and all the games look as if they could be tight close affairs with the exception of celtic perhaps. With that in mind goals is the way to go imo.

    Btts accer
    Southampton v Spurs
    Partick v Dundee
    St jnston v rangers
    Ict v Motherwell
    9.5/1 bet 365

As far as the h2hs go for
    Saints v Spurs btts 6/10
    Ict v well 7/10
    Partick v Dundee 5/10
    Saints v rangers is 5/10
So both teams scoring has happened at least 50% of the time recently in these fixtures. Not one to go mad on but worth £10 imo

  21. nathanl 7 years ago

Today I’m ignoring the premier league game and focusing on the SPFL….

    • Inverness vs Motherwell both teams to score
    • St. Johnstone vs Rangers both teams to score

    Longshot

    • Inverness vs Motherwell both teams to score
    • Rangers win and both teams to score
    • Partick over 1.5 team goals

    Odds at —- 15.30

mr f seen yer post re getting stoned on the way out of auchinleck after a bankies victory, ad just thank yer lucky stars ye bear no resemblance tae the actor ned beatty ……………. :D

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

For those who missed the comment. When I say “stoned” I mean bricks and bottles were chucked at us.
Don’t get the Ned Beatty reference though.

    • kelly.d 7 years ago

pmsfl sure what else would it mean ????

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Hehe – visions of you enjoying a few ‘tropical roll-ups’ on the Bankies Supporter’s bus too Mr F.

I’m guessing the Ned Beatty ref is to do with squealing pigs from the film Deliverance?

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

That’s what I was worried about. I never go on the bus coz either I’m working on the Sunday Mail at night or need to get back to put up tips.
The bus is never in a hurry to get home if you know what I mean.
Get the train sometimes but usually drive.
Not a film buff – nae time to watch them.

    • -wato- 7 years ago

@liamw hope you didn’t get on my selections this evening didn’t go my way at all on this occasion unfortunately. Hoping for better tomorrow. Well done with your winners earlier mate. I agree with your earlier post too there are a whole host of excellent tips on here on a daily basis. I’m enjoying being a part of the site as I’m sure many others are too!

    • liamw 7 years ago

Thanks @wato, I did have a small stake on yours, bit unlucky with red card and such like! But it’s the long run that counts, I’ve followed plenty of your winners the last couple of months! GL for tomorrow.

    • -wato- 7 years ago

@liamw thanks mate, you’re right losing days/runs will always happen. I’m happy when they win but even more delighted knowing when the likes of yourself have been on them too! :)
