I PICKED the wrong Super Single on Boxing Day in Leeds from a shortlist that produced plenty of winners including Liverpool, Spurs, Crewe and Crewe DNB.
Yes, I picked out a 5-1 winner but only team news prevented me from going with it. However, the upside was two winning trebles – the Top Treble at 4-1 thanks to Bournemouth, Norwich and Middlesbrough and an aways treble at 13-2 after wins by Spurs, Liverpool and MK Dons.
On the 12pt tips I suggested I made a profit of £135 thanks to the trebles so despite Leeds losing it was a good day.
On Friday it was all about English games, on Saturday the focus is on Scotland and returns to England on Sunday – that’s festive football for you.
I’ve posted a separate preview of the Scottish games and for my top tips I’m again advising 12pts stakes and the same four best as Boxing Day.
My Super Single is League One outfit Brechin who are a biggest 29-20 at McBookie and BetVictor to beat Dunfermline.
New Pars boss John Potter couldn’t stop his side crashing to a third defeat in a row to Stranraer last week and faces another tough test at Glebe Park. Brechin are in good form, unbeaten in 11, and unbeaten in their last two at home to the Fifers.
I’ve taken Brechin ahead of Dundee, Hearts -1 and Hamilton while Celtic -2 was also in my thoughts.
For the Top Treble there’s not much to say – I expect Celtic v Ross County and Hearts at Livingston to win well and I’ve added Stranraer, one of Scotland’s form sides, to beat Stenhousemuir at home.
Like Friday I’m going for a big aways treble – Hamilton at Kilmarnock, Hearts -1 at Livingston and League Two leaders Arbroath at East Fife.
