ENGLAND recovered from a dodgy start on day one of the first Test against South Africa to give themselves a fighting chance.
Alastair Cook and Co were just 49-3 but recovered well to post 179-4 on a rain-hit day yesterday. They have drifted from 5-2 to 15-4 (888sport) to win the opener while the draw will have backers at 5-2 on a slow, dry pitch.
The action in Durban resumes early on Sunday morning and South Africa – now 15-8 at Titanbet – will hope for some quick wickets.
