BOXING DAY is here so will punters be counting their tenners or slumping on the ropes?
We all know there are going to be some strange results over the festive period but if anything the first set of fixtures are the most likely to go to form.
I've posted separate English and Scottish football previews and reasoning for most of my picks are on there.
Blackpool were my original Super Single but their match with Oldham is one of many called off today. Others include Dundee Utd v Motherwell, Partick Thistle v St Johnstone, Raith v Alloa, Blackburn v Middlesbrough and Wigan v Sheffield Utd.
My Super Single is changed to Stirling Albion at home to East Fife but that price has been cut from 11-10 to a best 17-20 at McBookie.
With Stirling also on my original treble and homes I've now got a lot riding on them but I'm confident they'll win.
Other games on some of my accumulators are off but instead of adding other teams I'll work out any winnings using reduced odds and increased stakes.
Remember to keep to level stakes whatever your circumstances. You might have cash burning a hole in your pocket from Xmas gifts or you may feel a desire to try to win back what you've spent.
Just do what you always do and stake what you can afford to lose.

So I think I’ve spotted a good betting opportunity so here goes. Skybet are offering an enhanced treble on Liverpool, Man C and Spurs to win at 5/1. Despite many unexpected results in the Premiership so far this year this betting opportunity is based on Spurs and City being nailed on so if you disagree with this then this is not for you! My rationale, therefore, is 5/1 on Liverpool to beat Leicester are enticing odds. That said, like Mr Fixit I fancy Leicester to get something from the game as do Skybet clearly!
So a £1 stake gets you a fiver. Stake a further £1 on the draw and the away win (which are both touching 3/1 or as near as damn it) and you will win £2 in Liverpool win and £1 for any other result. Your stake should represent your confidence and I’m going £50. Even if Norwich or Sunderland DO stop a home win assuming Liverpool don’t win you make a profit. If you’ve not got accounts with Marathanbet (for the draw) or Unibet for Leicester then you could simply do a DOUBLE CHANCE with Unibet at 39/40 which means you win big if you fancy the treble and you cover the bet with the double chance option. Simples as Aleksandr Orlov might say!!!
If anyone sees a flaw in this please let me know!!!
Max stake is £22 coaterj. Well it is on my account anyway
Strange, max stake is in the thousands for me. Good spot on covering though.
Hmmm – flaw is that you are taking for granted a City win. We are playing awful. Very fortunate to win vs Swansea last home game. I would not be backing City with any confidence at present….and that’s from a season ticket holder.
Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and hopefully we have a good boxing day too.
First off, one to wake up to.
Australia A-League
Sydney FC to win and both teams to score – 21/10
Central Coast have lost 9 of their last 10 away games with the other being a draw and all 10 have seen both teams score!
League 2
afc wimbledon v BRISTOL ROVERS – 9/5
Seems to be value here with Wimbledon not finding a win in 7. Bristol on the other hand have won 3 on the trot now and really seem to of found some decent form.
dag & red v CAMBRIDGE – 13/10
Dagenham are really struggling sitting bottom of the table and loosing 3 on the trot. Cambridge haven’t lost in 4 now drawing last time out and winning the other 3.
Evening gents
Was difficult to finalise tomorrow’s, selections, not because it’s a tough card to choose from but because theirs was 6 or 7 matches I really liked! Here’s what im going for
Swindon v Gillingham KO 3pm
What a month it’s been for Swindon, 4 games ago they were languishing in the relegation places but after 4 consectutive wins they’ve hauled themselves to within just 6 points of the playoff places! Their last 7 matches have seen both teams and over 2.5 match goals! They welcome a Gillingham side who are right in the mix for automatic promotion! They won 3-0 away at Millwall last week and with 6 of their last 7 matches seeing over 2.5 goals, both teams to score, especially given county have concdeded in 15 consecutive
home league matches! Going for goals here
Back over 2.5 match goals 7/10 (BV) (NAP)
Leyton Orient v Portsmouth
Pompey have accumulated more points on the road than at home and taking them to net once again on the road! The O’s are good for a goal at home and with 8 of their 10 home matches seeing both teams score theirs a good chance of that coming in here
Dundee United v Motherwell
Accrington v Carlise
York v Northampton
Over 2.5 match goals treble
Paya 9/2
Ross County v Dundee
Ipswich v Qpr
Both teams to score double
Pays 13/5
wise choice greg im a swindon fan and the appointment of martin ling has give everyone a lift CMON THE TOWN

Evening gents. Eaten too many pigs in blankets today! Merry belated Christmas to all. Hope Santa has been good to everyone. Big day in the football world in England and Scotland but I’m always suspicious of betting on Boxing Day as no matter how professional, you wonder how many have stayed off the booze. Especially in the lower leagues.
Taking this more for interest than anything but do think all should grab a goal on their travels.

Jordan, can’t see anything wrong with that – cheers.
How much are you staking on the Draws Mr F?
gianni, not much. I don’t include the draws in the stats – they’re too big of a long shot but people want to see them.
My advice would be something like 0.5pt trebles and 0.25pt fourfold.
Okay, thanks.

Derby early Pre-match summary:
I’ll do my best to be available an hour before Kickoff but after an unbelievably busy few days, I’ve had little time to go back over my earlier thoughts on the upcoming Derby V Fulham, so most of this is geared around the gaffers thoughts – Pre Bristol and Ipswich.
He said ” I want 7 points from the next 3 games ” – roughly translated to a point away to Ipswich and a Bristol and Fulham home win. Well the Bristol game was 4 nil and had Ince not got his FIRST career hatrick, most votes from both sides would of said the man of the match was Frank Fielding ( former Derby No1 GK ). We had that much in attack, it could so easily of been double figures. The formation was changed, Ince had a stormer and its given him a huge confidence boost -which was taken into the Ipswich game.
The Ipswich game was very much back to the rigid 4-3-3, the game had few chances, it was quite equal and Derby fans have to look at that match as an extra 2 points we didn’t think we’d be getting.
Now for Fulham. Last time out, the beat us 2 nil. It was in our wretched February where Derby’s league fell apart. I took a look at the starting 11 that faced Fulham then and I believe only 3 players who took part in that match will be in Derby’s starting 11. Whether we stay with 4-3-3 or the 4-2-3-1 that was devastating against Bristol, I actually don’t mind. With practically a full squad to choose from I expect Derby to get 2+ goals.
Statistically Derby have scored in 91% of all home games and Fulham have conceded in 91% of their away games.
Last season Fulham were full of expectation and within a few months of each other, we put 5 past them twice. League cup and League. Derby have that same depth of squad to choose from – possibly more and Fulham I fully expect will end up in the bottom half of the league come May.
Far too short at 1/2 with bet365 are Derby for a super single, but you can count on them delivering 3 points, so consider bolting them onto another team for a double.
I also expect over 1.5 Derby goals – I’m too tired to check the prices.
-1 H/C should deliver, BUT the -1 Asian H/C gives a little security.
We’re still hit and miss on corners and as I’m likely to miss out on the pre-match formation/selection I’m inclined to not advise looking at the corners race to market.
Bent is still on 199 career goals and seems to be still playing cameo’s. Very unlucky not to net against Bristol.
We also seem to be a bit more disciplined too so Derby card counts are coming down ( as happens to most teams that are in a vein of form ).
Looking at the whole of the championship matches, you can’t really disagree when I say that Derby’s match looks way more easy to predict the outcome than ANY of the other matches.
Merry Christmas everybody and best of luck with your bets.
Nice write up Nathan – before Xmas I took Derby >1.5 TGS, Stoke to score.
kitchee actually look on top despite being a goal behind at half time
kitchee draw no bet @2.20
lost. finished 2-1 to home side. got a little back on btts Nothing else going up until know what games will be played
Colchester, Swindon > 2.5 MGS
Accrington > 2.5 MGS
Eastleigh > 1.5 TGS, Dover to score
GL all today
Surely im not alone in thinking Crystal Palace at 2/1 is a great price?
Agreed – Crystal Palace are so consistant Away from home and Bournemouths recent results haven’t been matched with great performances so at 2/1 I think is a great price.
Another decent wee bet for today
Derby -1
Arsenal -1
Doncaster win btts .
Pays just over 33/1.
For treble . Gl all
Blackpool postponed mr f
bet365 seem to think “Over” is a horse running at Crown Ground!!
We thought we’d let you know that Over has been made a non-runner in the following event: Accrington Stanley v Carlisle.

Morning gents,
Shortlist for today’s Over 2.5 goal games – will be picking out some perms and also doing the 6-fold:
NEWCASTLE V EVERTON
BMOUTH V PALACE
SHAMPTON V ARSENAL
DERBY V FULHAM
SWINDON V GILLS
DARLO V WHITBY
6-fold pays a shade under 26/1.
Once played at Whitby Town in a pre-season friendly – finished 2-2 and was watched by a crowd of 3 people…not sure whether they lived in the stand but all looked at home with their bottles of White Lightning.
I fancy the Darlington v Whitby game to see a few goals and will take Over 3.5 goals as the NAP at 11/10.
Good luck with all bets.
Sorry,
Crystal Palace – DNB at 6/5 (NB) Think that’s an excellent price.
Finally football’s back. Need to escape the inlaws, driving me chicken oriental.
Shouldn’t have put my bets on yesterday as one of mine is already off due to weather I assume

Bournemouth crystal palace over 2.5 match goals EVENS
Also have a 9 fold on premier league – bit of a mad bet at 211/1.
Personally believe Guru Browning has picked the plum over 2.5 goals game at Swindon.
I’m just adding one more to my betting slip, that being at the Racecourse Ground, Home side record speaks for itself in relation to scoring goals! Opponents today are a rejuvenated Southport, under new management, pace and positively have been added to a team who prior struggled for goals. Their last two games have seen a total of 13 goals!
Wouldn’t like to predict outcome of result, but believe both sides will contribute to goals!
Wrexham v Southport over 2.5 goals 7/10.
Bit of fun for Boxing Day…
Every chance we could see some low scoring draws in the PL card today.
Hate backing draws and scorelines but 1/1’s usually pay around 11/2-6/1 and a few games look like they could go that way.
All 9 PL games to go 1-1 looks a Boxing Day shoe-in and returns 44 million odd to one.
Back in the real world, I have shaved those 9 down to the 5 most likely looking candidates:
STOKE-VILLA-B’MOUTH-LIVERPOOL-SWANSEA games.
Pop them in a Lucky 31 and realisti ally if 2 come in, it’s a good return, 3+ and It’ll be a verry Merry Christmas.
Cant rely on Utd for anything! 2-0 Stoke …
wasclueless, don’t know anyone who fancied Man Utd.
Only reason for leaving them out of top tips was because of the early kick-off.
I certainly didn’t. took the 1/2 for Stoke to net and Derby > 1.5TGS!
Lazing on the couch today watching Soccer Saturday, 3 bets for an interest:
Main bet, all to win
Man City
Spurs
Peterboro
Plymouth
Pays just under 9/2
All Double Chance, small stake acca
Crystal Palace
West Ham
Rotherham
Southend
Bristol Rovers
Portsmouth
Pays 8/1
All to WIN and BTTS for really small stake perms
Chelsea 9/4
Derby 7/4
Coventry 13/5
Millwall 10/3
Barnet 10/3
Oxford 12/5
30p trebles, 20p 4-folds, 15p 5-folds, 10p acca, total stake of £10
All 6 returns £1,500’ish and minimum treble returns just over £9 to just about cover stake
I’m s United fan of 40 years, never bet against my team but Stoke at 12/5 were just to good not to do. At half time and watching that display it’s going to pay for Xmas
Merry Christmas folks, hope you all had a good one. Two bets from me today:
Speculative 7-1 double of Leciester and Palace both to score 2+
Evens double of Derby win and Arsenal double chance.
Hello there I am new to site today just a wee message to say,, merry xmas and a prosperous new year and may all your tips come true.. Great wee site,, and a few profits fae mr John b..and a few others.. Magic man.. Keep up the good work
Hullo! Santa! You forgot the goals
Bet365 cash out is not working.
Yea not working for me either
ifeanolaba, what did we do before cash out?
Anyway it’s not working but I am – so it’s off to the Sunday Snail.
I’m on Arsenal later and btts at Newcastle – hopefully both come in after a day that as poor unless you were following Greg.
Anyone think that arsenal are a great price considering a win puts them first because Leicester lost?
Like the -1 Asian handicap too.
Any thoughts?
Lads…
EVERTON – Win & BTTS Yes
GENT – Win & BTTS Yes
12/1
Due to bet365 technical issues with cash out got my stakes back and a little more as an apology so going on
Level stake on arsenal win
-1 Asian handicap as well
Giroud anytime scorer
Woeful day.
Might have to jump on us to win at Southampton later today to make up losses
Hmmmm maybe Ramsey to score any time @4.6 ?
Since Santi got injured he scored against Villa and Sunderland and he should have had 3 against City.q
Well done all/any winners – says it all on a day like today that Greg picked a full house.
There is a rumour going around that the reason Greg walks a bit funny is down to his crystal balls.
My 11/10 Darlo v Whitby NAP was rained off and the NB was void (Palace DNB at 6/5) so nothing major lost. The Over 2.5 6-fold lost at 26/1 and the fun 1-1 PL Lucky saw one in a 11/2 and 2 others close with 1-0 scorelines.
Won’t put up as a replacement NAP but a solid shout for Arsenal 2+ team goals at 6/5…looks good and if they are as resolute at the back as they were sgainst City, they should have little bother against a Saints side who have lost their way of late.
Due to advances in technology Hullshaker the crystal balls are now held within an App, haha! ?
Like your Arsenal over 1.5 goals
Yet another late goal in a Newcastle home match – unbelievabke Geoff ☺️
Geoff, unbeleivable indeed. With 83 minutes gone – 0-0. Like that ‘use the force’ scene in Star Wars I heard a similar voice (well, Scottish and smelt slightly of Jack Daniels) whispering “always a late goal at Newcastle…”
Got 2/1…tucked little ‘un up in bed, checked phone…happy days.
Greg, how do you do it man? Respect my friend!
Omg Arsenal . Having s right shi% day
Fair play to Southampton and any Saints fans but didn’t see that coming…4-0…WALLOP…Arsenal 2+ goals…lost.
HullShaker, Arsenal were terrible – no way they can win the title defending like that. Totally outmuscled and lucky to lose by only four. Who wants this title – my money’s on Man City but can Spurs be written off?
