IT was all about one team for me and Borussia Dortmund are off the Christmas card lost forever.

Their failure to win or net a second goal at home to Augsburg beat me for two trebles – and while Peterborough v Notts County went under 2.5 goals after two in the first eight minutes I'm laying all the blame at the Germans.

Greg and others did well so hopefully plenty were on those bets.

Hopefully I'll eat into the accumulator losses tonight and maybe out up a Super Single.

The focus will be on French and German football. There is a full card of 10 games in Ligue 1 including Bordeaux v Nice and PSG v Orient and Inter face Lazio in Serie A.

Biggest of the night is in the Bundesliga with two top meeting and it will be fascinating to see how RB Leipzig fare on their first league trip to Bayern Munich.

There are six more Spanish Cup second leg ties and interestingly last night both scored in all five matches – three of which were basically dead rubbers. The first-leg scores of games tonight were Hercules 1, Barcelona 1; Leganes 1, Valencia 3; Gijon 1, Eibar 2; Real Betis 1, Deportivo 0; Formentera 1, Sevilla 5 and Granada 1, Osasuna 0.

So proper games tonight except at Valencia and Sevilla but most top teams will still be weakened and Barcelona have confirmed they won't play Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar or Gerard Pique.

So there's plenty to look and I've studied team news, form and stats before picking my tips.

My first effort is a btts treble based on stats. The last six meetings between Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen have seen both score and produced 28 goals and it's the same for Inter v Lazio although the goals tally is 22.

Add Bordeaux v Nice who met at the same ground in the French Cup last week with Bordeaux winning 3-2. With Mario Balotelli back Nice have every chance of gaining revenge against a side who haven't won any other games in their last six but should be goals whatever the result.

Last night I confidently backed Peterborough in their FA Cup replay against Notts County as they were fielding a strong team with Chelsea next up. Same goes for Plymouth tonight at Newport with Liverpool awaiting the winners. Newport improved after the appointment of Graham Westley but have lost their last four.

As long as Plymouth boss Derek Adams is true to his word his side should win and they are better on the road anyway with eight wins from 12 in the league including a win at Rodney Parade in October.

That's one Super Single and I'm making Guingamp a second as they head to Metz. On their day Guingamp can beat anyone and in their last two matches defeated PSG and drew with Lyon. Metz have no wins in five and without their main striker Mevlut Erdinic.

My Top Treble isn't too crazy – Lyon at home to Angers, Monaco at home to Caen and Benfica at home to Rio Ave. All three are short-priced favourites and should win well – and I've added a 0.5pt long shot.

    Morning gents,

My focus will be upon one game tomorrow and not for the first – or last – time, I’ll be wending my way up into the Andes to see if there’s still gold to be found way up in the clouds…

THE STRONGEST VS. SAN JOSÉ (19.30 KO):

By now, I’m sure most folk will be aware of The Strongest’ stronghold and as if their La Paz fortress wasn’t daunting enough, The Estadio Hernandes Siles plays host to a team that haven’t won in 7 on their travels.

There may be trouble ahead for San Jose and their poor form is on a direct collision course with The Strongest’ best spell of the current campaign.

Our hosts come into this game on the back of 26 games without a loss and I predicted that they were ripe to hump someone soon before they put 7 past Nacional Potosi in their last home game.

The most recent H2H in La Paz finished 4-1 to the home side in May and I think that would be a realistic type of scoreline again tomorrow.

    Three selections to consider:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…5/6
    ????

    STRONGEST -2 H/CAP…21/20
    ???

    OVER 2.5 SHGS…13/8
    ???

    Good luck ?

I take it you were delighted we scored 3 for you tonight shaker.
Didn’t look good for an hour but I summoned the goal God’s just before the hour in the bogs, and as I flushed the waste away, behold, I hear a cheer, so only saw 2 of our goals.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Elvis – to much much information but I appreciated your summoning up the goal-gods.

Would make a good headline if you had your own online write-ups site:

‘Elvis the bog hog logs blog job as Bangor come up trumps’

I notice the team with the best record in Europe’s national leagues, tns are attracting huge crowds.
At Rhyl last time, the attendance was 99….and I was one of them, and I was only there cos I was bored.
If I had known, I would have paid twice to push it through the 100 barrier.
      Shameful isn’t it…..

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Sad to hear – if Bury ever get an away day there, we might swell numbers to 104.

    • chumpchange 7 years ago

Well this is all going nicely to plan. Followed all of yours and added in BTTS and over 2.5. Nice one sir and hopefully you might have a night cap lined up?

Top stuff mate. Lobbed them -2 in a handicap accer that was cashed out seconds before Caen scored against Monaco.

Hi gents. Quiet couple of days but no reason to jump into anything. Posting for tomorrow. Torino host Genoa in Serie A where 7 of their 8 at home have seen over 2.5 with both scoring. Genoa suffered a 4-3 defeat to Palermo at home last time out and have conceded 2 or more in 4 of their last 5 away games. Torino keeping only one clean sheet in their last twelve total. This market has landed in the last five between these two, and four of the last five in Turin.

Andrea Belotti has 12 goals for Torino this season, 6 in his last 6 and is my favourite to net against a side who don’t travel well.

    Thursday – Serie A – 7:45PM

    Torino/Genoa BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ EVS @ 365/Coral – 2.5 points

    Andrea Belotti (Torino) Anytime @ 6/5 @ Various – 0.5 a point

Morning folks. 3 teams I expect to get relatively comfortable victories tonight so I’m on the following treble.

    Barca, Strongest, Benfica

All to score both halves 2.5/1

    Good luck

    • boomshackle 7 years ago

Lost – Benfica couldn’t muster a second half goal despite numerous chances :(

  5. nate pesh 7 years ago

A better card today but sometimes that makes it more difficult!!

    Oostende to win 8/5
Eupen vs Club Brugge over 3.5 MGS 5/4
Umraniyespor vs Akhasir Belediye over 2.5 MGS 21/20

As a treble it pays 10.7/1

As I said yesterday keep an eye on the Turkish cup it was goals galore and there are some good prices for over 3.5 goals in some games!!

Valbuena has scored in the last 3 games and he is 11/4 to score anytime and 17/2 to score first

    • solway11 7 years ago

that’s the first one in, good tip!

    Good morning folks,

Here are my previews for tonight’s action. 3 games to look for in the goals markets.

    9:45 Inter vs Lazio

    Prediction 2.2

    Key Facts

    * Inter have seen BTTS in 6 out of 8 home fixtures this season and in 12 from 15 at the San Siro since April
    * 10 of those 12 also went over 2.5 goals
    * Inter have scored in each of their last 17 home league fixtures
    * Inter have kept only 4 clean sheets in their 17 league fixtures this season
    * Inter have scored 2 goals or more in each of their last 4 home league fixtures
    * Lazio have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 10 away league fixtures
    * 5 of those 7 games also went over 2.5 goals
    * Lazio have scored in 9 of their last 10 away league fixtures
    * Lazio have kept only 3 clean sheets in their last 15 away league fixtures
    * Lazio have kept only 4 clean sheets in their 17 league fixtures this season
    * 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals
    * Each of the last 6 meetings between these two sides at the San Siro have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals
    * 9 of the last 12 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals

    Final Verdict
Neither side are particularly adept at keeping clean sheets and when these two meet, goals are usually on offer and I expect a similar outcome here with 7th placed Inter hosting 3rd placed Lazio.
Inter have scored in all but 1 home league fixture in the past 14 months and with Lazio in good form, I expect goals at both ends.
9 of the last 12 meetings have seen BTTS with all 9 of those games going over 2.5 goals and that’s my best selection here.

    Best Bets
    BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 10/11

    19:00 Hoffenheim vs Werder Bremen

    Prediction 2.2

    Key Facts
    * Hoffenheim have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 11 home league fixtures including 4 of their last 6
    * Hoffenheim remain ubeaten and sit 3rd in the league with 6 wins and 9 draws so far
    * Hoffenheim have scored in 14 of their last 15 home league fixtures
    * Hoffenheim scored 2 or more in 10 of those 15 fixtures
    * Hoffenheim have scored 2 or more goals in 5 of their last 6 home league fixtures
    * Werder have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 away league fixtures
    * Werder have seen BTTS in 19 of their 23 most recent league fixtures. 17 of those 19 also went over 2.5 goals
    * Werder have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 10 away league fixtures
    * Werders clean sheet in their last away league fixture (at Hertha) was only their 3rd in their previous 46 away league fixtures
    * Werder are unbeaten in their previous 4 league fixtures, picking up 8 points in the process. They lost 8 of their previous 11 league fixtures
    * Werder have scored in 28 of their last 34 away league fixtures in the past 2 years. More recently, they have scored in each of their last 6 on the road.
    * Each of the last 12 (TWELVE) meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS. 9 of those 12 also went over 2.5 goals
    * Werder are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Hoffenheim.
    * Werder have scored at least 2 goals in their last 5 away meetings with Hoffenheim
    * Each of the last 6 meetings between these two sides in Hoffenheim saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals
    * 28 goals were scored in those 6 fixtures

    Final Verdict
Historically this game has been a BTTS banker for 2 years now and given both sides current form, it is no surprise to see short odds on both of my favourite selections here.
Still, I expect the goals to flow and I will be making the BTTS and over 2.5 goals selection my NAP for Wednesday while a cheeky 2.2 draw is not out of the question with Hoffenheim loving a draw this season (9 out of 15) against a Werder side showing some signs of improvement in recent weeks (unbeaten in 4) and decent form on the road, including, you guessed it…a couple of 2.2 draws, most recently at Darmstadt and Hamburg.

    Best Bets
    BTTS @8/15
BTTS and over 2.5 goals @4/5

19:00 FC Cologne vs Bayer Leverkusen

    Prediction – 2.1

    Key Facts
    * Leverkusen have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 9 away league fixtures
    * 14 of their last 19 Bundesliga matches have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals
    * Leverkusen have scored in each of their last 19 away league fixtures
    * Leverkusen have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 league fixtures
    * Leverkusen are in a poor run of form, losing 5 of their last 9 league fixtures
    * Leverkusen have lost 5 of their last 8 away league fixtures
    * Leverkusen have conceded 2 goals or more in 7 of their last 9 away league fixtures
    * Leverkusen have conceded 16 goals in their last 9 league fixtures
    * Koln are unbeaten in their last 9 home league fixtures
    * Koln have scored in 7 of their last 9 home league fixtures
    * Koln have lost only 3 of their last 20 league fixtures since April

    Final Verdict

It;s a derby match and while Koln are not particularly strong in my goals markets, visitors Leverkusen are and I expect the contrasting styles of these two sides to produce an entertaining and hotly contested local encounter.

I’m backing BTTS @3/4 with a strong level of confidence while the 5/4 on BTTS and over 2.5 goals does tempt with Leverkusen so consistent in these markets lately.

The visitors are struggling for form and I fancy they could be taken down by the hosts with BTTS @3/4 the main pick from this one.

    Best Bets

    BTTS @3/4
BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/4

    NAP – Hoffenheim v Werder – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @4/5
    NB – Inter v Lazio – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @10/11
    Koln v Leverkusen – BTTS @3/4

    BARCELONA VS. HERCULES:

Hercules seem to be inspired by their 1-1 draw with Barca and have won the subsequent 3 games without conceding.

Although the Big 3 up top won’t be playing – along with Pique – the Catalan side are set to play a ‘strong’ (albeit reduced) starting 11.

Can I see Hercules scoring? Yes I can and that opens the door for some potentially great value.

    Kortrijk v Oostende
    Inter v Lazio

    4.19/1

  12. bobreaksbookies 7 years ago

    @hullshaker

Could happen. Barcelona have conceded in 4 of their last 5 home copa del rey games. They also conceded to the likes of Huesca, Levante and Villanovense.

I would suggest Barcelona to win and BTTS @6/4 offers the best value if you like the visitors to score but given the fact Hercules have failed to score in 5 of their last 8 away matches (at liga 2 level) they may struggle to do so at the Camp Nou.

@kelly – can I ask, without being rude, what compels you to bet on Greek under 20 football?

Do you not worry about the possible factors that you cannot be fully versed on for such a match and such a large stake?

    • kelly.d 7 years ago

looked at der last few games and leauge position etc they beat a team in mid table last time out 7-1 and olympikos are top with a goal difference of +37 so score lots of goals so between gut feeling and a bit of a risk i went for it.

  24. GregBrowning 7 years ago

    Afternoon gents

The SPL u20 matches did the business last night night with the two I went for ending 3-1 and 4-1 – I left the Aberdeen v Motherwell game out ( 1-9 Motherwel FT)

It’s a packed card tonight and and for me personally it’s an early goal bet dream with a full French card at 7.50pm – 5 German games at 7pm and 4 Belguim games at 7.30pm

Have picked out two bets for tonight

    Hoffenheim v Weder Bremnan

The fact the last 12 meetings between these two sides have seen both teams score is enough. To suggest we should see more of the same here but with The hosts 6 of their last 7 over 2.5 at home and Bremen 9 from 11 away from home, we should see both sides contributing

Eupen v Club Brugge KO 7pm

The visitors may be sitting pretty at the top and travel to face a side 20 points worse off than them but this is a tough assignment – Eupan’s lowly league position is down to their awful away form! At home though they are a completely proposition, claiming 13 of their 17 points at home! Their last 10 at home have all seen over 2.5 goals with 9 of those seeing 4 or more! This looks like another match where we’ll see both sides contributing!

Back over 2.5 match goals double 5/4 (Bet365) (NAP)

Small stakes over 3.5 goals double pays just over 7/2

    Bordeaux v Nice
    Nantes v Montipeller
    Standard Liege v Lokeren

Ober 2.5 match goals treble 7/1

Remember the matches for early goals – will be on the 5 German games and a combination of the French games

Good luck with you mr bets tonight ⚽️??

  25. boomshackle 7 years ago

    Nantes v Montpellier

Montpellier have scored prior to the 66th minute in the majority if their away games while Nantes have conceded in most of their home games by the time.

    Straightforward enough then?

Montpellier to score before the 66th minute @ 5/6

    Good luck :)

    • boomshackle 7 years ago

Lost, didn’t score at all :(

  26. bobreaksbookies 7 years ago

Just a reminder for those who missed my Key Facts this morning for tonight’s games

    Hoffenheim v Werder – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @4/5 – NAP
    Inter v Lazio – BTTS @7/10 and BTTS and over 2.5 @11/10
    Koln v Leverkusen – BTTS @7/10

I know they might seem boring but those facts are the justifications behind my selections and when you are putting your money where your mouth is, you want to have as much information as possible. Well, at least that’s my theory.

    Good luck to all tonight.

    Ryan/Bo,

Having jusr re-read the thread from top to bottom it seems that you are starting up exactly where you left off.

    I remember it well.

You basically got up everyone’s nose that much that folk didn’t respond to your elongated posts and in turn, you threw your toys out of the pram and had several meltdowns and hissy-fits because of your lack of attention.

It was well documented and quite embarrassing for those that remember.

Do as you like but don’t expect anything but short shrift from most if your giving it the big one as soon as your back on and questioning (yes, you were) the likes of Kelly who goes about her business quietly and effectively.

Good luck and hope you can do what you promised you would do last time under a different name; give good input without it becoming the me-me-me show.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

To be fair he’s not being critical but the questions don’t need to be asked.
Hope he’s learned from his last time on here.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

      I will.

Best of luck to you too Ryan.

    Jamaican Premier (Red Stripe) 8pm

    UWI FC v Reno FC
    Boystown v Montego Bay

Both Teams To Score – NO, repeat NO.

Just 2 goals in UWI’s last two games, both 1 to nil, and 9th placed (of 12) Reno haven’t potted in their last three.
League leaders Montego Bay should see off bottom-of-league Boystown, who haven’t managed a goal at home in the last 3 of 4.

I see no injury news in the Jamaican Observer Sports Section…which is probably just as well. Don’t want four Flash Harrys coming on and smashing in hat tricks all over the place.

    13/8 at Coral.

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Looks a good bet that Stagger – brave but totally agree…good luck ?

    2.23 (Coral)

    ***LOST*** (One goal short)

  52. nate pesh 7 years ago

A better card today but sometimes that makes it more difficult!!

    Oostende to win 8/5✅
Eupen vs Club Brugge over 3.5 ✅MGS 5/4
Umraniyespor vs Akhasir Belediye over 2.5 MGS 21/20✅

As a treble it pays 10.7/1✅

As I said yesterday keep an eye on the Turkish cup it was goals galore and there are some good prices for over 3.5 goals in some games!!

Valbuena has scored in the last 3 games and he is 11/4 to score anytime and 17/2 ❎ to score first

    • dc john boy 7 years ago

    Monaco, The Strongest

    O2.5 Team Goals Double @ 11/5 (Bet365) ///LOST///

PSG score 5 and The Strongest score 7… unfortunately it was a poor, poor night for Monaco who were fortunate to score 2. A very late goal from 10-men Caen downed the handicap bet but thankfully I was able to cover on Caen to score with about 10 minutes to go. Admittedly I didn’t post that cover but I must admit I didn’t see it coming! Disappointing.

5 red cards and a goal in INJURY TIME hahahahaha

Going well against bookies here as away side petrolero only scored 25 in 21 averaging 1.2 tgs per game but home side N. Potosi have conceded 47 in 21 averaging 2.2 goals per game conceded worth a punt imo GL all on a late un………

im in,havent had a bet today so will stick a fiver on that, best of luck

  66. HullShaker 7 years ago

The Night Owl sees three games that kick off at midnight in Bolivia and I like sean’s Over 1.5 mg treble at 3/4, Crane’s also put one up that looks sound but I’m taking on a different game…

    CLUB UNIVERSITARIO VS. GUABIRÁ:

Guabira sit rock-bottom and thought it ‘don’t look great’ for them, they usually manage a goal from somewhere.

De Sucre are heavy odds on but no way i’d touch the win market and, as ever, goals are the way here.

They have scored 4-2-2-4 team goals in their last 4 home games and 2 would be a good shout today but is way too tight.

Instead, I’ll gamble on the one extra and also Guabira playing a part!

    UDS OVER 2.5 TGS…5/4
    ???

    BTTS 1ST HALF…10/3
    ??

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…12/1
    ?

Good luck and note I’m nowhere near as confident here as I was in the early Bolivian game!

  67. kelly.d 7 years ago

    just for fun
    €20 over 1.5 fhg in 3 games returns €345

  68. HullShaker 7 years ago

Guabira get their goal but surprisingly a nil scoreline for UDS beats the speculative BTTS bets.

A lot can – and usually does -happen in Bolivian second halves so still confident the home side can make an impact ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Ooft…USD 1st half goal away from a big return…wish I’d had a bit more faith in Guabira…1-3 now
