IT was a role reversal of Tuesday with the Super Single winning and the Top Treble losing on Wednesday.

Still one out of two bets is fine and on a tricky night with all of the cup ties Greg Browning also did well with two winning tips out of three.

I thought I'd avoided all the pitfalls but of the five teams I put up Fiorentina let me down. The Super Single was Napoli -2 AH and it was good to see them put out a strong side against a Verona outfit I knew would be weakened.

On the forum my £10 to £100 challenge produced a winner as did the Betting Club so hopefully I'll keep both going on Thursday.

There's another Championship match on Thursday with Wolves entertaining Leeds and that could be a draw while in Coppa Italia it's Lazio v Udinese and Sampdoria v AC Milan.

Again the Spanish games are second legs with the scores standing at Atletico Madrid (2), Reus (1); Celta Vigo (3), Almeria (1); Granada (1), Leganes (2) and Villarreal (2), Huesca (3).

Villarreal are no bigger than 1-4 at William Hill to beat Huesca and 1-3 with bet365 to qualify after losing the first leg 3-2. Confidence was boosted with their weekend defeat of Real Madrid and while Copa del Rey isn't their priority they have named a strong squad as they try to overturn this tie.

Team news reported only Juanma Costa was being rested while Tomas Pina is banned but they have made eight changes from the team that beat Real so that's a concern with Villarreal -1 and Celta Vigo my double.

Celta are in good form and while they already have the tie won they'll want to give home fans something to should about. Almeria are bottom of the second division with one win in 15 so take the home.

Earlier I suggested Barca -2 at 5-6 with bet365 and Paddy Power against Guangzhou in the Club World Cup so I hope some were on it. I also suggested Lionel Messi or Luis Suarez to score first and again hat-trick hero Suarez will have been well backed with the Argentina star left out.

Barca -2 would have been my Super Single if it hadn't kicked off so early so instead I'm going with AC Milan not to lose at Sampdoria in Coppa Italia.

Milan beat their rivals 4-1 in Serie A at the San Siro recentlybut dropped points to Verona and Carpi and coach Sinisa Mihajlovic's job is on the line as he returns to the ground where he managed between 2013 and 2015.

He is boosted by the return of £20million former Genoa man Andrea Bertolacci and Carlos Bacca is back among the goals and his presence could be crucial with Mario Balotelli still injured. AC are unbeaten at Samp since 2010 and face a side who have taken just one points in four games under new boss Vincenzo Montella.

The visitors look quite big at 13-10 with Betfred but I'm taking the slightly shorter 5-4 on them to score 2+. Sampdoria, who are without top scorer Eder, have conceded two or more in three of their last five games and have conceded in their last 14 matches.

sides that have been fielded have been strong tonight, I’m hoping Villarreal come back from that deficit, any decent first goal or anytime goal scorer recommendations mr f? Much appreciated in advance

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

cartywright, not until I get or see team news – it’s all important in cup games.
Messi I suppose for Barca but as always Suarez can beat him to it.

  2. cartywrighty 8 years ago

Athletico having a slim lead, Villarreal looking to turn there deficit, ac Milan and lazio wanting to do what fiorentina and Roma couldn’t and advance to the next round, can see another night of strong fielded teams

Good stuff tonight Mr F. I’m sure you’d rather the SS win over the TT most nights.

Looking at tomorrows card I don’t think I’ll be on anything myself so just reposting the bet I placed for Saturday morning in the Melbourne derby.

This could be a biased one being a fan but I’m sure there is good value in Leeds! I will be taking them DNB at 2/1

This is a much closer game than the odds show, Wolves have just 2 wins in their last 10 loosing 4 and Leeds with 3 wins and 4 loses. Leeds played brilliantly against Hull 2 outings ago and last Saturday drew against Charlton which no one involved with Leeds was happy about. It was definitely 2 points lost as they created much better chances and missed some absolute sitters! With both teams drawing more than they have won this season a draw does look very possible but at 2/1 DNB I’m happy to take the risk on Leeds. A bit more composure in front of goal and its very possible!
Right back Berardi is injured but with a choice of Wootton or Byram that is not a problem. Captain Sol Bamba is also back to fitness and is expected to start.

Ill also be taking a smaller bet on Tom Adeyemi anytime goal scorer at 8/1. Since Bridcutt has come in he’s been playing a slightly more attacking role and bagged him self a goal against Hull, he should of made it 2 in 2 against Charlton missing the best opportunity of the game! He might of missed there but the point is he’s getting himself into good goal scoring opportunities and at 8/1 he’s better priced than some players who won’t even get put on the pitch.

    • richb20806 8 years ago

Totally agree mate and I’m a wolves fan. I’ve no idea in all honesty why the odds are favouring us so much. I think I’d have had it somewhere on a 13/8 15/8 split with Wolves having slight home advantage.

It’s a match I don’t think I’ll be betting on to be honest. We’re poor and are lacking in most areas. Earlier in the season we looked good but then shockingly sold fan favourite defender Richard Stearman and things went pear shaped.

One thing we had in our favour was goals but I think we’ve scored 5 in the last 5 games getting 4 draws and a win (in 2 of the games we’ve failed to score).

If I was heading anywhere on a bet I’d back a draw, maybe low scoring 0-0, 1-1 but I’ve no confidence.

Ultimately I think we’re both capable of winning the game.

If I was to look anywhere on the game a speculative low stake on BTTS.

I may very well look at bookings as I think we’re both capable of picking up cards.

40+ booking points at 5/6 is possible.

Your DNB Leeds isn’t bad but based on the odds there’s no value in DNB Wolves and I certainly wouldn’t back us straight win.

Leaving the game alone and my Nap would be advising others to do the same lol.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

richb20806, so far I can’t pick it – maybe I’ll see something later to persuade me.

    • sam c 8 years ago

You are spot on rich both teams are very un predictable to be fair! I actually hate betting on Leeds but I just feel that at those odds it’s got to be worth a bet.
It’s a good shout with the booking points too! Leeds have lacked disincline and are always making silly tackles, I think we had 5 bookings last time out!

  6. craneguy 8 years ago

mr O, feyenoord btts looks good at evens any thoughts? ta

    • richb20806 8 years ago

Not convinced on BTTS & overs for the wolves game. I think BTTS is quite likely and statistics show that if we score we concede.

I’m a wolves fan and to be honest were pish lately.

Saying that something has to change doesn’t it.

    • craigyboy 8 years ago

For me it depends on what team Jackett puts out. Having been on the bench for the last two games Afobe has to start tonight.
Could go either way. Very hard to predict which Wolves team will turn up. One goal in the last three home games doesn’t make for great reading.
Normally a decent atmosphere when Leeds are in town so we could have a bit of a midfield battle on our hands.
Yellow cards could be the way to go. There’s been a few in the last few Wolves games and I believe there was eight in the Leeds v Charlton game last time out.
Stuart Attwell takes charge (never a popular figure down the Molineux) so this bodes well for cards and Leeds IMO.

    • richb20806 8 years ago

Yeah I’m favouring cards. I think Afobe could very well feature with the fact that we’re lacking goals to such an extent. Your right though, atmosphere is good when Leeds come down

    • sam c 8 years ago

I’m with rich I’m not sure, past h2h’s certainly suggest it but recent results for both teams don’t really! That said it is good odds

  9. Jordan 8 years ago

Crane it might be worth a look but it all depends who starts for either side. Guangzhou do have a few decent Brazilians (Robihno, Paulihno, Goulart, Alan, Elkeson). Few Chinese players to look out for are Gao Lin, Zheng Long (Shane Longs Chinese cousin ;) ) and Yu Hanchao who I’ve heard is a bit of a leader, ahhhh that’s my time. Good night!

  10. Jordan 8 years ago

Don’t forget they’re managed by the great Scolari too and have a full season under their belt. Goalscorers wouldn’t be my thing in friendlies but some heafty prices for the Guangzhou players. Might see if I can get a 5 minute break to check line ups in the morning.

Gao Lin 11/2 (13 in 25 league games)
    Elkeson 7/1 (7 in 16 league games)
    Goulart 7/1 (19 in 27 league games)

Lyon vs Tours, over 2.5 match goals (2-1)
Juventus vs Torino, over 2.5 match goals (4-0)
Hull vs Reading, Hull WIN (2-1)

    13/1 won.

I didn’t watch any of the games but I’m guessing I got lucky with Torino’s red card and of course Hull’s late winner. Cashed out at 12/1 after Hull’s goal as soon as cash out was available.

Cupa Romaniei – Viitorul – Steaua Bucuresti 20:30
    ———————————————————————–
Steaua won 1-0 Monday, the only goal of the match was scored after 3 minutes (Hamroun)
    ———————————————————————–
    Viitorul :
    – After Monday game they remains second in Ligue 1 with 40 points. Steaua and Astra Stadium are the only teams who beat this season Viitorul on their ground. However . It should be said that the match against Steaua was the first at home in Ligue 1 in which Viitorul does not manage to score. It remains the best offense in domestic competition: 42 goals scored in 22 games.
    – Florin Tanase missed the previous match to an injury suffered at the very last training and it remains unclear whether he will be back for today’s game.
Gheorghe Hagi (Chairman – Coach) :
    – “We could score more goals , but sometimes the ball does not enter . We learn in every match, Steaua , we dominated them in both games this season sometimes in a categorical manner, easy, easy day would come when we beat them .”
    ———————————————————————–
    Probable team
    – Buzbuchi – Benzar , Hodorogea , Boli , Mitrea – Achim , Nedelcu , Filip – Nicolita , Cernat , Aganovic; (4-3-3)
    ———————————————————————–
    Steaua Bucharest :
    – Steaua managed the second consecutive victory in the new mandate of Reghecampf after that 2: 0 in Craiova, and came within three points at Viitorul. But more important at this point is to talk about Romanian Cup title holder and Steaua being a finalist in 2013/2014 edition. On the other hand, I remember that Reghecampf used to use a lot of reserves in such games, and it cost him a match in 2012, when his team was eliminated on penalties by Concordia Chiajna, although dominated authoritarian national championship at that time.
    – Steaua coach has at hand a lot much thinner squad than have three years ago, so it is difficult to predict what changes might make. Given that Stanciu and Rapa are back after suspension, is likely to be holding the two in place of the suspended Papp and Muniru, who seemed drained of energy player in the Monday match . Breveeld was the weakest player rating in the previous match, and could be replaced by Tahar.
    Laurentiu Reghecampf (coach) :
-“If the score was 1-0 it is clear that we deserved the victory. We must close the match with Tade’s opportunity. Future played very well and gave us problems. They had very big opportunities. It is a surprise for me. The next match will make several changes in the first 11 and the team will look better.”
    ————————————————————————
    Probable team :
Niţă – Râpă, Varela, Toşca, Guilherme – Filip, Tahar, Stanciu – Adi Popa, Tade, Hamroun (4-3-3)
    ————————————————————————
    – Despite tight result, there were many chances to score;
    – Viitorul lost Monday , but after the first goal in the 3rd minute,they had a bar and did play well overall;
    – Before Monday Viitorul had 10 matches in which thei score;
    – I expect a spectacular game in which both teams i believe will score;
    – As i said earlier with Reghe coach Steaua will play Attacking Style , and Viitorul , team created only in the same way – i expect to see over 2.5 goals tonight;
    ————————————————————————-
    Bet – Viitorul – Steaua – Over 2.5 goals @ 7/6 Unibet
    @ craneguy – hope to inspire :D

One bet from me today gents

Standard Liege v Kortrijk KO 7.30pm

After a tricky opening part of the season, the hosts have been propping up the league in recent weeks and are in great shape coming into this having suffered just one loss in their last 8 and beat league leaders Brugge at the weekend! The visitors aren’t too clever on their travels with just one win in 16! Liege have won 9 of the last 12 meetings between the sides here and scored two or more in 8 of those wins! Taking them to do the same again!

      Re the Bet365 in-play offer

I received an email from them earlier this week informing that I was no longer eligible for their offers or promotions. I assume this is because I didn’t bet much with them other than the £50 inplay offers ( I mainly use Skybet and Betvictor) which I have done for around the last 12 months. I never guaranteed profit with the offers, simply done the over 0.5 goals then £50 on something, usually BTTS. I suppose the way they will see it is they are not going to make any money off me if I only use them for these offers. This happened to anyone else?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Irh, that’s correct. They want people who bet regularly not what they term “bonus abusers”.

    • richb20806 8 years ago

If everybody just used bet365 when there was an offer on there would be no bet365.

Nothing I like today, but I really like this one for tomorrow:

It’s the last game before the winter break in The Netherlands and Belgium this weekend and I picked two teams to end the year with some team goals on Friday night.

Sparta Rotterdam over 1.5 team goals
Lierse SK over 1.5 team goals
    Double @ 2.14 with Betfair (or 365)

Sparta have score at least 2 goals in all their home games this season. I think they will continue this trend on Friday night when they play MVV. Sparta’s goalscorers Verhaar and Brogno are fit to play. MVV conceded 10 goals in their last 4 games (2-2-3-3) and they miss their two central defenders Pereira (suspended) and Labylle (injured). Pereira played all games this season and Labylle has only missed their last 2 games.

Lierse had a terrible start of the season, but are back on the up and unbeaten in their last 9 games. They scored 31 goals in 18 games and scored in all but one of their home games. The only failed to score against league leaders Antwerp. They rely on the goals of Slovenian striker Velikonja, who scored 13 in 15 games and also have Kenyan international Masika in their squad. Lierse play Deinze who haven’t won in 11 games. They conceded 35 goals in 18 games and conceded in every away game. They conceded 2+ in 8 of their 9 away games, only keeping bottom team Heist to a 1-1 draw.

Looks good Mr Orange – will have a punt on that … quite like the look of Den Bosch to score a couple at RKC tomorrow at evens. RKS have conceded 11 in 2 games … Den Bosch scoring 6 in 2 games – any “local” opinion appreciated ….

    Afternoon gents,

A good night last night but I read WC’s NZ post and stuck my two ‘peneth in fancying Hawkes Bay on the h/cap which lost early this morning.

Did better with the overnight Emelec game in response to a question, Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 and BTTS at a massively overpriced 6/5 both coming in.

Onto tonight and It’s Bolivia all the way for me – 4 midnight KO’S and 3 bets I fancy:

BOLIVAR to score in both halves…8/11…NAP

    BOLIVAR V SAN JOSE…Over 3.5 goals…11/10…NB

    LONGSHOT…All 4 games to see Over 2.5 goals…5.61/1.

    Good luck lads.

Been at work since 5 this morning – just seen the result – apologies :(

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Everything pointed to a sound HB win mate – even the bookies prices, so no apologies needed.

    • wasclueless 8 years ago

Cheers really took it because of the odds … Waitikere are a “decent” team (also havingpoached a few Hawkes players) just were completely out of form… I saw this a bit like Leicester v Chelsea!! Mind you after today at least the Waitikere manager got a result and still has a job !!!

evening hull, question is whish one is going to mad on goals theres always one…………

lot of reds in the mountains last nite hope its not silly season again…………..

    • craneguy 8 years ago

also hull, how are bury going to get on at southend tomorrow been 16 goals in southends last 5 mmmmmmm………..

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Ey up up there Crane – 11 of those 16 goals came in just 2 games though…in fact 7 of them were in the 1 game against Oldham.

To be honest, we were cracking to bet on until mid October. Since then we’ve been a nightmare and for that reason I’ll be cheering on my lads but steering well clear on the betting front.

  45. wasclueless 8 years ago

Will have a punt on games highlighted by Greg /Mr F
    Liege, Villarreal > 1.5 TGS 1.3/1

    Smaller speculative punt on
Nancy to score (I will pretend they aren’t French), Boavista v Academia BTTS 2/1

Just had a look at the Barca highlights. Great performance form Suarez and the only highlight I did see from Guangzhou was from a full stretch save from Bravo, so I felt quite unlucky with those bets. Never mind £14 down the pipe and on to tomorrow. Good luck tonight gents.

  49. richb20806 8 years ago

Well my beloved wolves aren’t playing all that badly to be fair.

As I posted earlier, it was too unpredictable a game for me to bet much on but as I said if we score we concede and because of that I listed BTTS as a possible. In at half time and dos have a point on.

Felt cards would feature and went a point on 40+ booking points… That’s not looking great lol.

At kick off had a gut feeling Afobe could net so went a point on and he didn’t take that long. It’ll do his confidence no end of good.

    Still feeling the draw though.

    • richb20806 8 years ago

      Lol and that’s the wolves… 2-1 down.

  50. noodle dude 8 years ago

Leeds Leeds Leeds! Had a half-time double on Leeds @7/2 and AC Milan @ Evs. 2 points to pay 18. Just cashed out for 13 points as don’t trust Milan. Happy days.

    • richb20806 8 years ago

Well I was right. Any game involving wolves is too unpredictable lol

  51. paulcwn 8 years ago

wow how late well done mr f

  52. noodle dude 8 years ago

Hahaha! Had 5 points AC Milan to score next goal @ 11/10 on 60 minutes. Had written it off and then a 93rd minute goal. God I hate/love betting!

  53. noodle dude 8 years ago

Only thing that has let me down is no second goal for Atletico in a 10/1 treble, but can’t say I’m bothered. What a few days this has been. If only I’d had the balls to post my bets as tips. Too much self doubt. From tomorrow I’m going to post a Super Single and Top Treble, a la Mrfixit, and see how it goes.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

noodle dude, look forward to it.

    • noodle dude 8 years ago

I can’t say I’m in your league Mr Fix It. If I’m totally honest I place hopeful bets (don’t we all). I just seem to be on fire at the moment and would like to try to share the bookie bashing. I’m usually in for small stakes, high reward. It doesn’t often pay, but this month I’m over 100 points up. Flash in the pan? Probably. Only time (and tips) will tell.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

noodle dude, everyone has good and bad days – it’s about not giving back after you have a good day and keeping to level stakes.
