I PICKED a 33-10 winner and 10-11 loser on Tuesday and really it should be the other way round.

The Top Treble landed thanks to Derby and Middlesbrough plus Charlton not to lose but Annan gubbed the Super Single after leading 1-0 at half-time.

Greg had a good night too with two winners on the goal-laden Championship – his 4-6 nap and 5-1 over 2.5 goals treble.

Both of us avoided European cup games and it's the correct policy unless you have firm team news. Tonight there's not much else on and while team news is sketchy I've found some that has helped.

Teams in action include Roma, Fiorentina, Napoli and Juventus at home in Coppa Italia, Dortmund at Augsburg in the German Cup and PSG at home to St Etienne in the French Cup.

Again it's worth noting the Spanish games are second legs with the scores standing at Athletic Bilbao (2) v Linense (0); Eibar (0), Ponferradina (3); Getafe (0), Rayo Vallecano (2); Malaga (1), Mirandes (2); Real Sociedad (1), Las Palmas (2); Valencia (3), Barakaldo (1).

Apart from those matches there is little else on. Hull are 10-11 to beat a managerless Reading outfit with just one win in nine while Dagenham and Redbridge will be hoping to beat non-league Whitehawk in the F Cup at the second atttempt.

I thought Hull would feature on my top tips but they are without centre-halves Alex Bruce and Michael Dawson and have won just once of their last nine home matches against the Royals. Reading are struggling but I've decided to leave it alone

In Scotland Wick and Linlithgow attempt to play their Scottish Cup tie and it looks a match where both will score.

For the Super Single I'm taking a chance on Napoli -2AH at home to Verona in the last 16 of Coppa Italia. It's risky because I haven't seen firm team news for the title challengers but it's reported basement boys Verona have six players out injured or suspended and will include youngsters as they focus on trying to avoid the drop.

Verona haven't won in Serie A this season with their only two victories being in the cup against lower-league duo Foggia and Pavia. Napoli should win this and it will be convincing if they go strong – the last two league meetings in Italy have been 5-1 and 6-2.

I'm putting the handicap bet up just now but I wouldn't put anyone off waiting to see the Napoli line-up before having a punt.

My Top Treble is actually a fourfold simply due to the odds. I'm banking on some hot home favourites progressing in the cups. Start with Napoli for reasons already stated and add Juventus who will be put out a strong side for their derby clash with Torino.

Add Fiorentina against a Carpi side who could be weakened for the same reasons as Verona and PSG who have won the League Cup for the last two years. Again they will be pretty strong and have won 14 of their last 16 games in this competition. St Etienne are out of form and have lost six of their last seven visits to PSG including a 4-1 defeat in October.

And remember to check out our friends at We Love Betting for their latest tips and video chat.

Just had a quick look through tomorrows card and game over in the Serbia Super Liga seems to have value,

    novi pazar v VOJVODINA – 7/4
Novi Pazar come into this game with just 1 win their last 10 loosing 7! Vojvodina on the other hand are currently on a 5 win streak and although don’t have the best away record they have found wins in their last 2 trips away from home.

Also just had a quick look at Saturdays card and Leicester are currently available at prices as big as 27/10! This looks way too big and will surely move by the time kickoff comes!

Shocker in Portugal last night but not mcch time to cry about it as the next flight is taking off for Perth, Australia for the morning. Melbourne Victory were being tipped pre season for back to back titles, and up until their last two games it wasn’t looking too bad. However two back to back 2-0 defeats on the road has hit them where it hurts and they’ll be playing their third away game in 10 days. That is a fair bit of traveling for the Victory and they’ll have one eye on their weekend fixture against title rivals Melbourne City who have scored 15 goals in their last three.

Victory coach Kevin Muscat says focus in on Perth Glory, not the Melbourne derby, but he’s also stated that he’ll need to freshen the team up. Perth haven’t had the start they would have hoped for but got 3 points out last time at home against the Mariners. Unbeaten in their last four at home and last three against the Victory, I think both will be out to try and take three points. Melbourne because the need to keep pace with the Wanderers, and Perth because they’ll hopefully have the stamina advantage over a well traveled side over the last week and a bit. Both have scored in the last five h2h in the a-League and I think we can expect the same again today.

    Australia A-League – 10:00AM

    Perth Glory/Melbourne Victory BTTS @ 3/4 @ Bet Victor – 2 points

Hull City started off the season well but have gone off the boil since losing at home to Derby, and Leeds on the road in two of their last three. Tonight they’ll have a good opportunity get get back to winning ways against a Reading side who have lost three on the bounce, four of their last five, and have not kept a clean sheet since the 17th of October, and only one away from home all season against Bristol City.

Hull have one of the best of home records in the Championship and their summer signing Adama Diomande came off the bench at the weekend for his debut after an injury kept him sidelined until then. Although he may not play, he offers a very good goal threat, scoring 17 goals in 21 appearances for Stabaek in the Norwegian league, and being called up to the Norwegian squad in June. I think Hull should be good for a couple here. For me they have one of the best squads in the Championship with the likes of Hernandez, Akpom, Snodgrass, Diame, Livermore, Huddelstone and Maloney, and those are just off the top of my head.

@john smith, its not in the news. where is ur source from?

  10. john smith 8 years ago

Sky repoted it but now stating ‘his future is being discussed’. ?

  11. Mr Fixit 8 years ago

john smith, not seeing this anywhere but the fact the board are discussing his future is a big development.
It was reported today it would cost £40m to sack him and that’s a compensation fee that would have to be negotiated.

  12. jacksonator 8 years ago

They’ve been saying that all day – the Sky article says there is no meeting Wednesday it is part of an ongoing discussion since the Southampton defeat in October

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

jacksonator, if it wasn’t for the amount of compo he’d have been away weeks ago.
CL run has saved him but board must have run out of patience because there is no sign of league form improving and little chance of a top-four finish.

    • jacksonator 8 years ago

I’m a Chelsea fan so have unfortunately been watching all the games this season, it has been completely woeful, players don’t look sharp, only maybe Willian playing at anything near 50% of the form last season. Players have to take some responsibility somewhere but if they are being so consistently bad something we don’t know about must be happening behind the scenes.

Confidence is shot to pieces and hard to see where the turn around is going to come from.

Jose has a lot of respect from the fans for what he has done to our club but feelings at the games (from fans around me anyway) is that patience is beginning to run out

  13. john smith 8 years ago

Sky have jumped the gun and now backtracked. I have the screenshot of their tweet but i am unable to post it.

Afternoon gents. Have the little one so couldn’t post before. Surprised to see that the BTTS in Australia was downed by the Victory. Fatigue might have been a factor there but still played the strongest line up possible, which is why I’ll be taking Melbourne City to score twice on Saturday morning. Mentioned they had scored 14 in their last three and should be able to take advantage of the Victories poor run.

Why sack Jose… He made a bad call and didn’t get rid of some of the players he should have in the summer. He won the league last year. They got rid of him the first time and that was also a mistake. Whoever they bring in will just get fired anyway so they should just let him sort it out.

Anyone reason not to fancy, hull at 17/20?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

superjim, only for the reasons I have stated.

    • davisam 8 years ago

@superjim if you think Hull to win I’d suggest taking them to win to nil @ 7/4 rather than 17/20 to win. Hull have won 7 home games this season, 6 of those have been to nil, including their last 5 so I’d rather go with that for the better price. Their home from is rock solid tbf to them, they’ve only lost to Derby all season.

    • superjim 8 years ago

Sorry Mr F somehow I missed the Hull bit. I’ve been to Hull loads of times with the ice hockey. Not the prettiest of places.

Dont post to often but reading look far to big for me at 4/1 at bet365 yes they have been off form but they have had a couple of big away results this season. Hull city with there defenive injurys havent looked the same losing 2 and only beating bottom of the league boltom 1-0 also top that with the fact that hull have only won once at home in the last 9 games they have played against reading

Lot’s of cup action around Europe today, I decided to stay close to home.

    Dutch Cup

    Over 2.5 match goals

    Kozakken Boys v AZ
    Capelle v Noordwijk
    Double @ 2.40 with BV

A place in the quarter finals is at stake for these 4 teams. I fully expect Kozakken Boys to score a goal in this game, they scored in every home game this season and with AZ being the better team I think we will see goals.

For amateur teams Capelle and Noordwijk this is the game of the season. Both teams can reach the quarter finals for the first time. The game is played at the stadium of Excelsior Rotterdam and both clubs will be supported by 1500 fans. Both team are scoring and conceding in their leagues and I think we will see some goals tonight.

It has been raining all day in The Netherlands, but both games will be played on plastic pitches.

Well done all winners and get in there City!

    In-play – Hull City…9/2…*WON*

    Melgar v Cristal…Over 2.5 goals…4/5…*WON*

See PSG have finally pulled their fingers out of there arses…a few sighs of relief from acca fans there I reckon.

  83. wasclueless 8 years ago

New Zealand – going to have a wee overnight punt on Hawkes Bay -1AH @ 3.200. They are in much better form than Waitakere …. reckon there will also be a few goals. Waitakere haven’t had a game for a couple of weeks and the manager has been focussed on their training. I will go with the in form team at those odds. They are managed by Brett Angell formerly of Everton /Sunderland

    • wasclueless 8 years ago

Odds now down to 2.600 since I placed bet at lunchtime

  84. glucey 8 years ago

Hey Hull..any tips on the Emelec game later on

  85. Jordan 8 years ago

Cheers gents, was fearing the worst after the loss in Australia this morning. 90 minutes for a reason. Well done to the winners.

  86. barman 8 years ago

the only think i hate when i bet on btts its when home team fail to score.

lost 2 bets ( – 30 euros) and the chance to win a 4hold and 6hold thanks to augsburg and westerlo.
but i had huge returns on a 3-4 and 4hold thanks to over3,5 mg on eibar, psv, utrecht and marseille.

  87. craneguy 8 years ago

cheers hull wasn’t watchin but hud a point on yer hunch gallus………………… ;)

  88. HullShaker 8 years ago

WasClueless – usually stick to the NZ Youth league but with you on that one tomorrow pal.

Goals-wise there’s little value and although it should come in, Over 3.5 is only evens.

H/caps the way here like you say.

Hawke’s Bay have soundly beaten opposition that have in turn beaten Waitakere and realistically should win by a clear margin.

    I’ll take the gamble on:

    Hawkes Bay -2…5/1
    Hawkes Bay -3…14/1

    Sensible stakes and good luck.

  89. HullShaker 8 years ago

    No worries Crane!

There’s the 4th in the Melgar v Cristal game as well.

    Over 3.5 goals…2/1…*WON*

  90. HullShaker 8 years ago

    Evening Glucey,

Had a good look at the Emelec game and it’s not one I’ll be going mad on but there is potentially some great value.

LDU very much hold the bragging rights in H2H’s and won the last encounter 2 zip. It will be a feisty one but value-wise, these 3 all look big:

    Over 2.5 goals…11/10
    BTTS…6/5 ( too big!)
    LDU win…9/2.

Hope that helps and good luck.

  91. craneguy 8 years ago

    gallus 3-2 melgar………………

  92. craneguy 8 years ago

took an in play melgar win 23/10 at 0-1 down just scored 1-1 WON

mr O’s netherlands double tip WON at 13/10 wont claim it though Jordan will give me a row again……..as didn’t post till after was on it

a nice evens and a 9/4 in Serbia today that I was on heavier than I should of been as mentioned on last nites thread it was a sink or swim bet WON thankfully

great stuff as always from the regulars keep up the good work………..

cheers lads a great bunch 1.7pts up from being almost 30pts down on sunday ;)
