I HAD high hopes of a good night but was a few goals short.

Closest I came was on the goal treble where the lack of a Leicester strike beat me after the Fulham and Stenhousemuir games went over 2.5 goals.

Aston Villa draw no bet was the Super Single but they surprisingly went down at off-form Norwich.

I wasn't the only one caught out by unders at Bournemouth with Jordan also missing out. But it was a good night for Greg whose 4-5 Nap won as did his 13-10 double.

Tonight it's all about the Premier League with games including Sunderland v Chelsea, Middlesbrough v Liverpool, Crystal Palace v Man United and Man City v Watford and I'll post a separate preview.

Elsewhere there are three Championship games with Derby looking the best bets at QPR and plenty of cup games in Europe for those who can find some firm team news.

Tonight I'm on a West Brom side who have impressed at home to beat struggling Swansea.

For a Top Treble it's nothing fancy – can't see anything but a Chelsea win at Sunderland and Newcastle should win at Wigan even if the lowly home side have been tough to beat and not conceding many at home.

Complete the treble with Derby not to lose at QPR. Steve McClaren's side are back in the play-off places after a fantastic run of form while QPR have lost their last three.

And finally I'm on a goals treble – both to score at Man City v Watford with Pep Guardiola's side conceding in their last eight. Add btts at Crystal Palace v Man United. Palace have netted 10 in their last three, letting in eight, and should give a United side without Henrikh Mkhitaryan a decent game.

Complete the treble with Nottingham Forest v Preston in the Championship. Forest are another side who score and concede plenty while five of Preston's last six have seen btts.

Just an early doors opinion on Derby later on, we put in a solid performance against a Forest side that came to the Ipro to spoil the party. Forest were hungry for the ball and just seemed to have that extra yard in them in the first 30 minutes. Derby struggled to get a foothold on the match early on and Forest seemed to keep beating them to the loose balls. Then the sucker punch own goal just deflated them.

Its strange, I just felt an opener from either side would come from a nod-on either with a corner or a freekick set piece and it did. I also felt Ince was due a goal, and he got his name on the scoresheet. Hughes goal came from a clever cue-up to shoot – but passed at the last 2nd, the saved shot was them walloped into an almost empty net. I guess Hughes is trying to make a point that he’s good value for a better contract offer.
Forest had one dangerous loose ball fall to them and it was hit with venom and low. Carson made a fabulous save to keep the clean sheet safe, but with Forest a bit winded from their mini-run coming to an end, they’ll want to regroup I’m sure.

Derby’s back 4 is quite settled, the midfield is rarely being swapped around, and same with the front 3. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.

My instinct tells me again, the side won’t be changed out much, the form and stats tell me that we should be able to win this – BUT – Derby rarely get anything from any team away from home inside the M25.

Derby have 4 clean sheets on the bounce, 5 of our 6 straight wins have seen us keep a clean sheet with only Wolves bursting our net.
QPR have 3 losses on the bounce and are in 18th. Yesterdays matches have seen us drop from 5th to 10th and momentum is with us.

I shall take another look at a few bits and bobs tomorrow and see if I can find something I’d nail my name to.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Common sense tells me that Derby should score tonight and 4 straight clean sheets ( 5 from last 6 ) tells me QPR won’t. I’m not going silly on this but I shall be putting 25% of todays profit on bet365‘s price of 5/2 for the Derby win/btts No. Essentially its stating a 1 nil or 2 nil would be the likely outcome.
I think that is about where this match will likely end up. Even though we never played last night and all those teams around us winning, Derby dropped from 5th to 10th and for us to stay in the mix, we need another win. Travelling to the capital is always a tough ask historically for the rams but current Form V Form and you’d be daft not to punt on the Derby win which is drifting between 5/4 and 6/5. I also think i’ll put 10% on the straight win.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Can see Derby winning too but with it being midweek in the Championship I’ve taken the not to lose option as you’ll see.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

That looks safe enough, I have noticed too that 80% of Derby’s games have gone under 2.5 tmg’s which is the highest in the league. However, they have improved their goal tally as the season has progressed.

      Derby team:

1 change. Russell to the bench and in comes Weimann.

      Carson
      Baird/Keogh/Pearce/Olsson
      Butterfield/Hughes/Johnson
      Weimann/Bent/Ince

the folks on radio Derby seem to think that Russell has not been his usual industrious self and the gaffer has rested him. This gives Weimann his first start in a while. Weimann has been limited to cameo appearances and hasn’t really had a sniff at a starting 11 position so nows his chance to impress.

Still sticking with Derby win/ btts NO ( essentially a Derby win to nil ) with bet365 @ 5/2.

Lets make it 7 wins on the spin. Good luck folks.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

      Good luck.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Derby win to nil @ 5/2

      Had 3 £10 bets, 1 speculative 3 way – 2 parts a goal shy, 1x 9 way acca Chelsea/man u/derby win + over 1.5 forest tmgs and 5 others over 0.5 tmg’s. 80 mins in cashed that out at £22 with man u being held at 1-1.

      But my brucey bonus was my treble: Derby win/btts no @ 5/2, Chelsea win/btts no 13/8, Forest btts @ 4/5 = £138 … kerching

Derby were just not at the races for 80 minutes, QPR had the better chances although Derby did have the ball in the net but Ince was offside, but QPR had all the stats, the chances, the possession, but both teams were so stuck in the mud.
At halftime, I was going to point you all at the under 2.5 tmg’s, but my original post had already done that.
Derby made 3 changes over the last 15-20 mins and although we were not that much better, Ince was given half a chance with a Kamara cross and volleyed it straight into the QPR onion bag. QPR must be as sick as a parrot. The game was all set up to be a 0-0 bore draw and 1 chance gave the Rams their 7th straight win.

Not even had a look at the fixture list, I know we have Birmingham on boxing day but with 7 straight wins and 4 cleansheets on the bounce – back in the top 6, and Steve McClaren already making a space on his mantelpiece for his December manager of the month award – to go next to Novembers.

Hope you guys made a few quid tonight.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Nice one – Derby not losing did for me.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

And Man U go score….. grrrr, anyway £22 banked was better than risking it all on the last few mins for 96 quid. Can’t grumble, £30 stake, £160 back.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Not to be sniffed at. Good day – site lost one member but made the others a few quid.
Good luck to everyone in the draw for the £238 Advent Calendar prize.

  4. HullShaker 7 years ago

The second Night Owl sees me touching down in Buenos Aries for a game the bookies have priced up goals tighter than I’d have expected…

CHACARITA JUNIORS VS. LOS ANDES (12.15 KO):

A Chacarita win will leave them tied for 2nd place whilst LA are scrapping for safety nearer the foot of the table…all to play for.

What stands out here is the prices for goals; both teams have been involved in games with goals – Chacarita themselves have seen 10 in just their last 2 games whilst LA come into this on the back of 3 1-1 draws.

H2H-wise, 5 of the last 6 saw 3 or more match goals with LA scoring 2+ in 4 of those last 6.

Argentinian football is a fairly unpredictable beast and that last stat could spell out some unexpected value though it is very much going against current form!

    4 selections to consider:

    CHACARITA OVER 1.5 TGS…21/20
    ????

    OVER 2.5 MGS…11/8
    ???

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…21/10
    ??

    LOS ANDES OVER 1.5 TGS…17/4
    ?

    Best of luck lads ?

Think ill take a punt on Skybets crowd boost accumulator on Liverpool,Chelsea and Man Utd to win @ 7/2.Way this works is the more people that bet on it the bigger the price you get no matter what odds you took on original bet.Original odds started at 5/2 which changed to 7/2 when 2500 had taken the bet, goes to 4/1 when 25000 take it,9/2 for 50000 and so on….You never know as it certainly has a chance for a small wager ;) Good Luck.

Hi gents. Loss last night in Bournemouth with only one goal. Tonight I’m on BTTS at the Etihad. Pep refuses to adjust his tactics in the Premier League, and trends show that no matter who they have on the offensive, they are likely to concede. One clean sheet in their last seventeen competitive matches isn’t a title winning side and Watford will get their efforts aat goal, more so on the counter. Stefano Okaka scored a brace in his last game against Everton and Walter Mazzarri has expressed there is more to come from the summer signing. He struggled in his first start against West Brom but that may have been the cause of match fitness due to a hamstring injury. He offers excellent value @ 5/1 with Coral.

    Manchester City/Watford BTTS @ 5/6 @ Betfair – 6 points

    Stefano Okaka (Watford) Anytime @ 5/1 @ Coral – 1 point

Ricky sorry only just seeing this now yes 1 pt per bet and sometimes do 1/2 pt doubles and trebles as per my 2 or 3 match goals treble further up the thread. The 2/3 match goals market has been working out quite well so far . Think I am up around +27 pts since August so hoping to continue that. Now that I know you may be following some or all of these I will try to get them posted a good bit before kick off or the night before. Any day I don’t post it means I haven’t looked at any games and would never put up or bet anything myself that I haven’t looked at well enough first. Good luck if you do follow some hope we can win together

The Eagles have failed to score in 11 of their 14 Premier League games against Manchester United. Jason Puncheon is the only current Palace player to score for the club against the Red Devils and is currently suspended, although. Although Man U haven’t won in London in there last 6 away games, I have a feeling they will be out to prove something tonight. Man u -1 @7/4.
The Sunderland / Chelsea fixture should be interesting. This fixture has seen 111 goals scored in 30 Premier League games, averaging at 3.7 goals per game. I fancy Chelsea -1 @ 6/5
    Double pays 5/1

  26. handyman22 7 years ago

Looking at the Vojvodina vs Cukaricki game at 5pm in Serbia and everything is pointing towards a Vojvodina comfortable win.
They have won 10 of their last 13 at home with their only loss to the superior all round AZ Alkmaar.
They have conceded only 2 goals in their last 9 home games and only failed to score twice in one of them games.
Cuckaricki’s away form reads WON 0 Drawn 3 Lost 7

    Vojvodina win 8/15 10pts
    Vojvodina -1 15/8 2pts
    Vojvodina to score 2+ goals 5/6 2pts

2 small bets up tonight thank feck after losing a whack last night, long road to recovery started ?

  56. HullShaker 7 years ago

COLO COLO VS. EVERTON 23.00 KO:

Needing 3 or more goals to coplete the double with TNS’ game home and hosed but maybe worth a closer look.

In 6 of the last 7 H2Hs, Colo have netted a minimum of 2 goals and I can see them making an early mark here to.

    COLO COLO GOAL BEFORE 30.00…6/5

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/8

    Good luck ?

    OVER 2.5 MGS DOUBLE:

    RHYL VS. TNS
COLO COLO VS. EDV – two games where we should see 3 goals land (dare I say it) comfortably ?…New Saints’ games speak for itself and Colo will, no doubt, add their usual default setting of conceding and scoring!

    Night Owl anybody?

Heading back over to Argentina and whilst I wouldn’t recommend anyone to put their life savings on this one, there could well be some value to be had!

SAN MARTÍN TUCUMÁN VS. JUVENTUD UNIDA G. (12.30 KO):

SMT aren’t setting the world alight and sit in 8th place having had a campaign best described as a mixed bag BUT their most recent form is non-too-shabby with 4 wins in their last 9 and the rest being draws thus making them unbeaten during that period.

Juventud’s recent form could best be described as shit and they are wallowing in bottom spot after no wins in 6. Goals conceded is what drew me to have a closer look at the game and they have leaked 15 goals in their last 5!

Prices look way to big and although I may be proven wrong – our friends the bookmakers don’t always get it right ?

    3 selections:

    SAN MARTIN OVER 1.5 TGS…19/20
    ????

    SAN MARTIN OVER 1.5 FHGS…24/5
    ??

    OVER 3.5 MGS…10/3
    ??

    Good luck ?
