EVERY Saturday William Hill's Owen Scott and McBookie's Paul Petrie do battle in the junior football challenge.
The dynamic duo will be putting up trebles every weekend and Owen has the bragging rights after four wins this season. However, a win's a win as they say and Paul finally got off the mark last weekend with Hermes to move to £14.44 with his other two games were off. All three of Owen's bit the dust and there are likely to more call-offs this weekend.
Owen's other two matches were off and at this time of year picking games that are on is tougher than predicting results.
For those who don't know anything about junior football the level of the top clubs is equivalent or in some cases better than Scottish League 2 outfits and we can gauge that easier now with the champions of the three regions – North, East and West – qualifying to play in the William Hill Scottish Cup along with the Junior Cup winners.
The term “junior” has nothing to do with players' ages and it often confuses people outside Scotland. Some of the top clubs such as Auchinleck, Hurlford, Irvine Meadow and Linlithgow pay bigger wages than most League 1 and League 2 teams and therefore attract players who could be plying their trade at a higher level.
McBookie list all games online and take bets on every junior match while William Hill only take bets in shops. Here are this weekend's tips from Paul and Owen.
Owen writes: All games were off last week and this weekend looks like we will see a few more postponements.

I'll going to stick to the East Region this weekend and I'm starting with reigning champions Kelty at 1-1s at home to Carnoustie. The home side had a bit of a sticky patch lately but I reckon they can get all three points this week.

Musselburgh (13-8) away to Penicuik is next up for me.  Both sides will now fancy themselves as being in the race for the title but I'm on Musselburgh as I reckon they have the better form.

Newtongrange (1-1) away to Camelon completes my treble.  I've had Newtongrange a few times in my treble this season and I don't think they will let me down this week.

Paul writes: First up in the West Region I like the look of Pollok to beat Rob Roy at 13-8. They had a disappointing result last time out but previous to that were in terrific form. Rob Roy are having an unbelievable season but I think the two sides are evenly matched therefore believe the better value lies with the home side.

In the East Region I am sticking with Dundee Violet to beat Blairgowrie at 10-11. The reasons haven’t changed from last week. Draws have been the biggest problem for the Pansies but this is a good opportunity against a side from a lower league.

Finally, in the North Region I am taking a punt on Dufftown to beat Inverness City at 9-4. The club have pulled off a massive coup in appointing former Aberdeen manager Steve Paterson as their boss and while he won’t be a miracle worker he should still be able to improve the team. Inverness have lost their last three league games so aren’t in the best of form which makes the away side decent value.

Musselburgh @ 13/8 with Hills is a lot better value than mcbookies 19/20.
