IT'S one of the biggest betting events of the season – and bookies are pulling out all stops to capture a share of the business on the Champions League Final.
Three firms – Paddy Power, bet365, Skybet – have set the tone with a couple of incredible promotions.
If Barcelona win in normal time Paddy Power will refund losing correct score, first/last scorer and scorecast singles on the match. Max £100 per customer.
Paddy Power are famous for their moneyback specials but this could be their all-time most generous offer with customers getting a 50-50 chance of having losing bets refunded.
The offer wasn't decided by the bookmakers but by their customers. Paddy Power punters were given a choice of seven different offers and 37 per cent of them plumped for that one.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Our biggest offer, on the world’s biggest match. What’s not to love. With such an offer who else could we choose to front our advertising than Imogen Thomas – the most talked about woman in Britain this week.
“We did consider the Middleton sisters but they were otherwise engaged.”
Bet365 customers who have a pre-match bet on the big game will be given a free in-play bet to the same stake on the Wembley showpiece.
Spokesman Steve Freeth said: “It will probably cost us at least a million pounds but we’re not expecting our customers to be too worried about that!
“We’re not picking and choosing our markets, simply have a bet pre-game on any of the 100 plus markets available and you’ll be given a free bet in-play to the same stake (max £50).”
Skybet's offer is if Lionel Messi or Wayne Rooney scores in regulation time they will refund all losing goalscorer and correct score bets as well as scorecasts.
PR manager Helen Jacob said: “We wanted to do a huge offer to celebrate the dream final to the Champions League and it doesn’t get much bigger than this.”
