IT’S great to see the return of the Premier League – a full card to choose from apart from games called off by the riots.

As usual the big guns such as Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are pretty short so I’m starting with slightly more moderate Wolves.

Mick McCarthy’s side travel to Blackburn for a reunion with an outfit they met on the last day of the season.

A 3-2 victory kept Rovers up and almost sent Wolves packing but they lived to fight another day.

That defeat was a bit of a shock because Wolves had been on the up and look a better side than Rovers.

McCarthy has added steel in the shape of Roger Johnson and Jamie O’Hara and enjoyed a decent pre-season.

Blackburn have swooped for Dundee United kid David Goodwillie but could struggle this season. Take Wolves at 11-4 with the likes of Ladbrokes and bet365.

In the Championship I’ll be all over Cardiff like a rash. Malky Mackay’s men opened with a fine win at West Ham then beat Oxford in the Carling Cup despite having eight players on international duty.

It was just the start Mackay wanted and his side, back to full strength, should be too good for a Bristol City side hammered at home to Ipswich last week.

Leicester also started with a win and while they’ve been adding to their big squad Reading will be reeling at the loss of star striker Shane Long to West Brom.

The Foxes are clear favourites for the Championship after West Ham’s stuttering start and should boost their credentials with another three points. They are 5-6 at boylesports.

Crawley play their first league match at home and should celebrate with victory over Macclesfield.

The League Two favourites opened with a decent 2-2 draw at Port Vale and are a biggest 1-2 with Ladbrokes and Paddy Power to go one better.

Finally, it’s up to Scotland and a Berwick side who need to get going in the league after taking a couple of cup scalps in the shape of Partick Thistle and Dumbarton.

Berwick were blown away by Elgin last weekend but recovered to beat Dumbarton and on home soil should be too good for East Stirling. They are nicely priced at 5-6 with Coral.
