THERE was an explosive start to the Ladbrokes Premiership last weekend with Dundee and Hearts leading the way with four goals apiece.
As luck would have it the sides clash at Dens today and out of 100 people I’ve asked no one is predicting a 0-0.
Goals galore should be on the menu and both teams to score pays 5-6 at BetVictor. Dee destroyed Killie 4-0 at Rugby Park with doubles from Greg Stewart and Rory Loy and with Kane Hemmings also posing a threat they could be in for a super season.
Hearts’ first two games have finished 4-2 against Arbroath in the League Cup and 4-3 versus St Johnstone in the league. Robbie Neilson will be happy with two wins and eight goals but keen to plug the leaks at Dens.
I hope it’s another cracker and believe underdogs Dundee will grab the points. They are a best 9-5 at William Hill and bet365 and to win and both score pays 9-2 at Ladbrokes and William Hill.
Stewart has started where he finished last season and is 6-1 at McBookie to break the deadlock. Hearts are a best 8-5 at Paddy Power while the draw pays 13-5 with Betfred.
The Scott Allan saga has made it a tough start for Hibs but they recovered from losing 6-2 to Rangers to beat Montrose 3-0 in the League Cup.
If Allan, who came off the bench to net, starts they should see off Dumbarton at the CID Stadium (answers on a postcard).
Hibs are 1-2 at Coral to cop a win and I’ll be on Jason Cummings to score first at 15-4 with bet365 and McBookie.
Last weekend’s Super Single was Dunfermline at home to Cowdenbeath and Allan Johnston’s men obliged with a 5-1 romp against 10 men. That followed a 4-1 defeat of Arbroath in the Challenge Cup and my title tips look in good shape.
Brechin have started with two defeats and no goals and I like the Pars at 23-20 with bet365.
Ayr also look set for a better campaign and can make it three wins in a row against an Albion Rovers side they beat 3-1 in the Challenge Cup a fortnight ago. The Somerset men are 5-4 at Ladbrokes and bet365 to hand Rovers a third successive loss.
Other sides I like include Raith at home to Livingston and Berwick at home to Montrose.
Last week I mentioned my four Scottish title picks and made no apology for taking favourites Celtic, Rangers, Dunfermline and Clyde. I quoted 21-1 at McBookie for the fourfold but it’s much shorter now.
(9-5, Hills, bet365)
Cummings (Hibs) to score first
(15-4, bet365, McBookie)
