TopTips_Ladbrokes

IT would be easy to go betting mad this weekend but my advice is to keep to low or preferably level stakes.

A glance at the coupon shows all the old favourites but form is king and there's little or nothing to go on.

I've made a good start to the season and last Saturday I had five homes at 8-1, the top treble at 5-2 and a 23-20 Super Single.

Last night's Super Single success on Rangers -1 made it one loss in 10 but there was disappointment for double followers with Dundalk inexplicably failing to beat 10-man Longford at home.

I'm not taking too many chances this weekend and sticking to the tried and tested. Here my the top tips from today's Daily Record – aways, draws, etc will be back next weekend.

Separate Scottish and English antepost picks are up and there is reasoning for many of my Scottish picks.

I've mentioned all my title selections before but at a glance I'm on Celtic, Rangers, Dunfermline and Clyde in Scotland and Chelsea, Middlesbrough, Wigan ew and Portsmouth in England.

For top scorer I'm chancing Memphis Depay ew at 33-1 – let's hope he can reproduce the form that brought him 39 goals for PSV last season.

And as far as Premier League relegation is concerned I fear most for Bournemouth and at bigger prices would back West Ham or possibly Leicester.

Good luck with all your bets today and don't feel you have to use maximum stakes. August is traditionally a tough month but it should be easier to predict matches after everyone's played four or five times.

And if you have a couple of spare quid or play the lottery have a got at Betfred's new Scoop6 contest to win £1million or put £2 on William Hill's £50million jackpot coupon.

This one involves placing the Premier League teams in the correct finishing order 1-20. I hope someone gets lucky and there are two £100k consolation prizes.

Betfred are also again pushing their popular Double Delight and Hat-trick promotion and if you do first scorers check it out. And with goals galore they are giving you enhanced odds on both teams to score accumulators.

      GOAL SCORER VALUE PUNT {Repost}
Rooney has scored 10 times from 15 games against Spurs and has hit the net on 6 times on the opening weekend of Prem LG which is better than any other player who will be playing in Prem Lg tomorrow, given he will be leading Uniteds attack tomorrow and should get a number of chances it could be worth taking the anytime Rooney score/Man Utd win @ 2/1 Skybet

Sean great write up mate plenty to digest.I fancy Villa to get a win and 15/4 with skybet seems pretty good.Though il be on fhgs in the championship think there’s plenty to had to start off.Good luck all in what should be a fun packed day.

  8. Alves 9 years ago

Had rangers -1, never thought ad be cheering on the rangers scoring but £3 free bet off @PaddyPower and waiting on Bournemouth Palace Dunfermline Giroud anytime for £134 and a few other wee bets, fiver on Dumbarton Hibs BTTS, Bournemouth, Palace DNB and Arsenal -1.5 AH at 11/1+ that posted on Tues. Hopefully a winner out them

  9. darran 9 years ago

I think arsenal could be an excellent team this season alves

  10. darran 9 years ago

If man utd lose de gea it will be the equal of playing with 9 men ????

  11. Alves 9 years ago

Darran me tae, Cech is the difference I think, even if they don’t sign anyone else will still be pushing for title if giroud stays fit but Walcott will play that role. Think they’ll sign a striker and a defender but Benzema?? Can’t see it, would be a great signing as only 27, just don’t see Wenger splashing out £40M for him. Hope Arsenal win it though or Liverpool but they’ve got as much chance of winning CL :)

  12. darran 9 years ago

Very true alves a team that may surprise is Bournemouth providing they don’t change tactics also palace! However a team I think are pure shit and will go down is west ham

  13. Alves 9 years ago

Looks at HT like 3 losers in Huachipato game but took just over evens for overs 1.5 corners on 30 mins, using winnings on Huachipato RT5 at Evens since they’re 0-1 down

  14. Alves 9 years ago

Well they basically rested thieir full team at Astana so mybe Arsenal might get a ge out them :)

The thing I find funny is they only got threr through fair play but in 5 games got 3 players sent off then only took 2 1st team players to Astana to save further embarrassment :)

Christ, Manchester United being involved on opening day on Mr F’s punts :) I’d agree on BTTS but wouldn’t be backing us to win just yet Mr F but good luck. I think it’ll take some time for Depay to get into the pace of the game. Certainly looked a bit raw in pre season but he’s bound to be. On the ball, great talent, but off it he looks a bit lost. Might be the position LVG has him in but hopefully settles in quickly.

Bilic is basically a cockrash Nolan had said on Tuesday they were taking Europa league seriously then whipdick takes a second team its like he doesn’t know what to do and the two del boys running the club would be better suited to watching chas and Dave than football

    • Alva Glen 9 years ago

Darran agree with you totally Bilic said he ran it by the players if they were up for Europa and they were and then he puts out a 2nd string.West Ham should refund all fans who travelled.Arsenal will do them tomo anyroad.

Evening Guys, New football season :D

I will be keeping the stakes small at this time of season. I want decent odds for goal scorers and I like two tomorrow if they start.

My Super Single is Wigan new boy Will Grigg. He was Gary Caldwell top target reportedly after scoring 20 goals for MK Dons. Coventry won just 2 of their last 15 home games last season, and looking at their preseason results and reports they are still struggling. Grigg at 2/1 various looks big if he starts, and I am taking Wigan to win at 6/4 various.

In the premier league I am hoping Bournemouth survive they play excellent football and will be an easy watch on the eye for neutrals. They face a Aston Villa side who have made a lot of changes to their squad and have conceded quite a few goals in preseason, so I am taking Callum Wilson at 15/8 Paddy Power to add to their woes.

    Saturdays bets

    WIGAN TO WIN 6/4
    WILSON TO SCORE 15/8

    SUPER SINGLE

    GRIGG TO SCORE 2/1

Good luck if your having a bet

    • gordon 9 years ago

grigg has been injured, also with a new squad and manager i wouldnt touch us,been awfull preseason,my biggest bet today will be on under 1.5 goals in match…good luck

  27. Deeman 9 years ago

Might side with villa at those odds..think some of the players will want to prove a point and that they don’t only rely on the likes of Delph and benteke

Bournemouth also lack premiership experience so might be a bit nervy

I’m on villa and c palace at 11/1

  28. The Lucky Filipino 9 years ago

Really annoyed with the Dundalk result against Longford, the fact that they still could not pick up the win against 10 men was embarrassing though I expected them to cover the handicap with ease. Onto saturday now and going to commence with the point system for the month and see how I get on.

    Dunfermline WIN – BetVictor – 13/10 – 3 points

    Posted on Wednesday

    Early bird for Saturday Gents

    Brechin v Dunfermline

These two will finish at the opposite ends of the table this season and the way Dunfermline have started its hard to look passed them away to a Brechin side who I opposed away to Ayr last weekend a side who are going through transition! The pars have a much smaller squad this season but as a result have been able to bring in a higher quality player! They should open their league campaign with a win!

    Back Dunfermline 6/5

6/5 won’t last – the pars will go off odds on and will likely shorten to 4/5

Will be focusing heavily on the Scottish leagues this season and key will be getting on before Joe public bring the pricees down on a Saturday

    Morning gents

    My other selections for today

    Albion v Ayr

The Ayrshire men were my NAP last weekend and they duely obliged by beating Brechin 2-0! For me they will be Dunfermlineshire main challengers this year! Albion dos well to get promoted but this is a level up from what they are used to playing! They struggle in this league and will likely go straight back down! Taking Ayr to get their season off to a winning one and continue from where they left off last week

    Back Ayr 10/11

The start of the season is always difficult to identify where gosls will be and I’d echo Mr F’s thoughts on not going daft today

Three matches I do fancy for goals though going by recent meetings and how they’ve started this year

    Arbroath v Elgin

It’s been a tough start for the hosts having played Dunfermline and Hearts, 8 goals concdeed but they did manage to find the net in both games, with a creditable 4-2 defeat at Tyncastle! They host an Elgin side managed by two Perth men, Ex saints Jim Weir and Gav Price! Known Jim since he first came to Perth back in 1994 and Gav through my Junior days! Both good lads and they’ve used their saints connection to secure the services of three of our u20 squad on loan for the season, on of them being the highly thought of George Hunter! With him Gunn upfront there are a good chance of goals and with a history of goals when these clubs meet it bodes well

    Back over 2.5 Goals 13/20
    Over 3.5 match goals 13/8

    Arboath v Elgin
    Berwick v Montrose
    Airdrie v Forfar

Over 2.5 goals treble pays 7/2

Good luck with your bets today gents :)

  64. linfieldaces 9 years ago

I’d a free 20 with skybet so plunged for
your tbl Mr F and added Wigan.Somebody wrote last night about Wigans new forward Grigg and he is a goalscorer at that level no doubt so for that reason alone they get the nod to make up my quad. Not one for accas these days usually fhgs and Mgs already getting a tbl in Aussie this morning already but off out for the day and hope to return to fire it all on Chelsea o/2.5mgs.20 on the quad returns 164.36 with no stake returned as it’s a free bet.Good luck all again today.Let’s make a winning start to the season for one and all

Sharing concerns regarding lack of form stats for lots of leagues kicking off today my research has led me to:

    Swiss Super League
    Luzern vs FC Basel
    O 2.5 & BTTS @ 2/1

Stats look good with both teams riding high and goals not a problem, plus three games in to season so some form to work with.

Make and take of that what you will and good luck for today all!

Hampy Hopefully Omiya will do the business on both -1 & -2 but even if only -1 comes in still get cash back to cover both bets so will be happy enough with that.

Reckon you are good for a home win today mate, Spurs struggled on the road last year.

Will wait to see Utd team news but might stick a few quid on your boys today.

  91. Alex 9 years ago

Yep United are by NO MEANS clear favourites in this game. We have Romero in net who’s never played in PL, and Spurs are on form.

I think BTTS is the best bet on this match.

The problem with united is they have a dodgy goalie ‘romero’ and dodgy centre-half ‘blind’.

  116. JJY 9 years ago

first games of the season notoriously difficult to predict so not going crazy with stakes today

what looks to be a value treble for me is as follows

Palace – squad has reinforced with some serious additional firepower far too much for a newly promoted norwich to cope with , also a local derby and conditions which palace tend to thrive under i see a simple win for palace here

sunderland – Advocatt is a fantastic manager and sunderland are no mugs they look seriously overpriced against a side that has lost its commander & chief in pearson whom i suspect was a monumental part of Leicester’s great escape last season , i don’t rate ranerri and the pressure today for them at home is going to be massive

Villa – initially i had bournemouth pegged for a simple win here , but after speaking to a lot of villa fans and doing a fair bit of my own research i feel may have underestimated them even with losing key players like delph and benteke they’ve made some good recruitments and had a good pre-season and i think sherwood is going to be quietly confident today and providing scott Sinclair starts i think he will be the player to make the difference potentially even get a goal

the cherries will be bouncing with recent promotion and although i expect them to score i think they’re going to under estimate villa and there significant premier league experience

    treble pays @54/1

also going for sinclair ATGS @11/2

Afternoon done a wee small stakes quad on Palace Everton Villa and Sunderland to draw with bet365 5 runs 470 here’s to a great first Sat of the season lads

  159. nathan ufton 9 years ago

    Derby Line-up:

I was right about the 4-4-2, but the middle 4 are a diamond which doesn’t really surprise me.
    Carson
    Warnock/Keogh/Shackell/Baird (captain)
    Thorne
    Bryson Hughes
    Ince
    Russell Martin

So we’re back to the holding midfielder role for Thorne with a very experienced back 4. Brysons inclusion is a surprise because Hendrick has had a great pre-season.
Its expected to see Russell in the starting 11 but a surprise to have Chris Martin back in starting 11.

Bent and Weimann after their impressive pre-season matches on the bench. Grant is dropped from the number 1 slot in favour of Scott Carson but just looking at our other names on the bench, its rammed pack with match winners.

I understand Boltons trio of new signings including heskey are on the bench.

Bolton have a wretched form of opening games, I think they have not won in their last 4 or 5 from 6, where as Derby have won or drew 5 of their last 6 openers.

The team looks like its set up to keep a clean sheet and early on we shall see if we can do just that.

11/10 for the Derby win looks a great bet, but for the braver, a -1 handicap ought to be covered or even a win to nil.

    Good luck folks.

    1st half summary of Derby:

Bryson pulled off after a niggle on 20 mins, then 10 mins later Hughes stretchered off – it looks serious.

Derby seem a lot more solid at the back than usual with Shackell and Baird right in the middle of stuff.

There have been chances at both ends with Russell hitting Boltons bar and I’d say Derby are shading it but need to improve the linkage between midfield and the front 2.

Hughes injury looks serious which could be a massive blow for Derby and if they’re not careful Bolton could/should be bossing the midfield if they want to at least share the points.

Harry I think we’ll win. We usually start well and have a good record vs Swansea of late. 2-0 is a result I can see but don’t like the ‘to nil’ market.

      Hazard FGS @ 5/1
      Chelsea -1 @ 11/10
      Chelsea over 1.5 tgs @ 8/15

I like the look of those so it depends what you’re looking for really.

    1-6 FT

    Back Dunfermline 6/5 WIN :)

Putting three points on this now and may even add depending how tonight goes. Good luck with your punts gents.

  210. Greg Browning 9 years ago

    Back Ayr 10/11 Lose

Back over 2.5 Goals 13/20 WIN
Over 3.5 match goals 13/8 lose

    Arboath v Elgin WIN
    Berwick v Montrose WIN
    Airdrie v Forfar lose

Over 2.5 goals treble pays 7/2

Good luck with your bets today gents :)

Was lost with my other posts and as highlighted there’s goals when Gunn plays!

Need to thank bet365 and their cash out – was waiting for Doncaster for a to win 4-fold! They scored in the 93rd minute, went straight to cash out and they were offering 98% cash out – took it then 30 secs later Bury equalised, haha!

Who just saw that by Toronto. Crazy!

  270. PeteT 9 years ago

    @Jordan

Looking good for your MLS tip (I love the MLS :) ). Not quite sure how SKC got their penalty (the MLS loves a good penalty!) but I’m not complaining.

Would be curious to know how frequent penalties are in the MLS – it feels disproportionately more than other leagues but that might just be my perception.

    • WasClueless 9 years ago

I was thinking the same on penalties PeteT – seems to be a fair few!!

  271. craneguy 9 years ago

good day at the bookies for me. £215 won from small stakes. another £100 tomorrow with arsenal -1 on handicaps. The one I need advice on is Southampton to beat Newcastle for £330. no cash out value yet.

  278. mattr 9 years ago

My treble for tomorrow pays 1.69/1

    Copenhagen O1.5tg (Denmark 1500)
    Rapid Vienna O1.5tg (Austria 1800)
Charleroi – Clean sheet – no (Belgium Prem 1700)

May be an Aussie treble now too. Will post both again tomorrow.

    LOST
    1 point returns 2

    Stoke ncs
    Newcastle ncs
    Man unt over 1.5 mg

    WON
    2 points return 3

    Bank builder
    Brechin ncs
    Toronto o1.5

End the day level, very close to being 13 points up but Chelsea ended that situation and i guess for a few others as well.

The horses and johnb rescued my day as the footy was terrible today.

    Hope others had some winners

  280. cooldude 9 years ago

Mr f, with all the fighting and arguing between Wenger and Mourinho its still hard to believe that Mourinho let Peter Cech go to Arsenal.

But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. I find Mourinho’s behavior as a premier league coach disgusting and low life. If his team loses or draws its the referees fault and likewise if a man gets sent of its never the players fault.

But worst of all is his shameful behavior and disparaging comments aimed at Arsene Wenger all throughout last season and he shows no signs of stopping this season. People then wonder why Wenger snubbed Mourinho’s handshake when he’s been treated like shit.

The sign of a true manager is to play the cards he has been dealt and Wenger has shown he is capable of qualifying for champions league football (no less then 17 years) with the youth players in mind.

If we compare how much Mourinho has spent on buying the premier league compared to what Wenger has achieved Im pretty sure Wenger could have won the Premier league even more then he did and Champions League numerous times given a good transfer bank.

Delighted with the Chelsea draw today as I really want Chelsea to suffer this season so eventually Mourinho will realize he has nobody to blame but himself.

  281. Rensen 9 years ago

I hope I managed put people off backing Marseille with the info I posted.they lost 1 0 at home.

    • WasClueless 9 years ago

Renson like you explained they are being asset stripped … definitely no longer a strong side

  282. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Wengers always had a good transfer bank mate just chose not to spend his loss to be honest as he’s done not alot with his youth as it’s proved. In Mourinho we trust CAREFREE

    • cooldude 9 years ago

linfield, so be it but Mourinho knows that this season Arsenal are a major threat to the title so he will resort to every underhand move possible.
Its one thing to make comments about a manager but to create lies and blame everyone else for your mistakes is disgraceful. Could you imagine Alex Ferguson or Bobby Robson conduct themselves in this appalling manner??
People in glass house’s shouldn’t throw stones and Mourinho needs to grow a pair before Wenger does eventually flatten him.

  283. linfieldaces 9 years ago

And it was Roman who sanctioned Cechs move as he dosnt deserve to sit other bench in his twilight years.Glad he went to Arsenal to be honest

  284. captain 9 years ago

    Hey Harpreet,welcome back mate ;)
    Where have you been?
I’m on your Btts tips mate Evens with coral just put £50 on it. Hope you we make some money. Good luck :)

  285. linfieldaces 9 years ago

I agree mate Mourinho is a mouth piece but that’s why he’s good entertainment.Think Cechs in a better place now and wish him every success as he deserves it the way he was treated to be fair and as today has shown our Belgian idiot isn’t very safe.Just think Jose is good for abit of value and added spice to the usual game of soccer

Mad busy tomorrow so will post my thoughts now:

    NEWCASTLE V SOUTHAMPTON…BTTS at 4/6.

    ARSENAL V WEST HAM…Over 3.5 goals at 8/5.

STOKE V LIVERPOOL…fancied Stoke at a big price but no Shawcross so will swerve this one.

PRESTON V MIDDLESBORO – Boro have a great squad and I think they’ll be pushing all the way this season. The mighty Shakers beat Preston in a fairly full-blooded friendly a week ago and we’ve a team that are not a patch on Boro’s current outfit…BORO to win at 11/8 is massive IMO.

Good luck with all bets tomorrow – off to watch MOTTD with a cold one…can’t beat it.

  289. JJY 9 years ago

palace ,villa , sunderland – treble – LOST

close and everything placed as i thought bar leciester being able to pick up from exactly where they left off last season

  305. Warburton is Magic 9 years ago

Craneguy looks like Rangers will be at least 6 points clear of Hibs come end of August. Seems like it is causing unrest at Hibs fully expected a decent win today.

Rangers will score plenty this season and blow most teams away. Handicap each week as we will only get better especially with Eustace coming in. Rangers win BTTS too as we will definitely concede.

  306. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

There’s the River Plate Ecuador team goals. Will cover the double now in the Emelec match.

    UNDER 2.5 mg 43/40.

  307. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Warburton too true mate Hibs beat me out of a holiday today tut tut but think the bears will wrap it up by Xmas the magician seems to have us rocking and solid mate

  308. HullShaker 9 years ago

Didn’t intend to have a go at any other games today but one keeps leaping out at me…would be rude to ignore it:

EMELEC VS. MUSHUC RUNA – kicks off at 11.30 and had a good look at this one.

The home side are firm favourites and I can see why…good form and a few solid wins. Mushuc, after a good early start, have tailed off in the last three but don’t discount a draw with the top side and wins against Cuenca who sit 5th.

OVER 3.5 GOALS at 7/5 looks very good.

  309. linfieldaces 9 years ago

Where are the fhgs in South America any chance here lol
