Rangers beat one of my Super Singles but the second won at 13-8 thanks to Motherwell. And I also landed a nice 11-1 aways treble with Motherwell, Hibs and Norwich.
Elsewhere most of my bets hit the bar but it was a profitable day thanks to the two winners and I'll settle for that on day one. My Bet of the Day for members won at evens and Bet 1 of my new £20 to £250 was also a winner.
Greg's nap was Hibs which came up while Desmond was a goal short on his 2+ double. Selectabet returned with his 2+ tips and provided a return with two winners out of three – one Wigan goal denying him a nice treble.
Star of the show was possibly Scott who put up two winners out of two. His 85-40 Euro double came up and Lyon netted a late consolation in the French Supercup against PSG to bring up a 9-2 both to score treble.
That's the way it will be throughout the season – a variety of bets and winners and losers from the main posters and regular contributors.
Sunday is another busy day with another first for Leicester as they face Man United in the Community Shield. In the Championship it's QPR v Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday v Aston Villa.
Celtic launch their title defence in Scotland at Hearts while Aberdeen aim to get over their Euro misery at St Johnstone. I've posted a preview covering the UK games with some tips.

Luzerne v Basel KO 12.45pm
Both these sides have claimed maximum points from their opening league matches – there’s only one team here though I see making it three from three and that’s the visitors! Luzerne were involved in Europa league action in Thursday night and sufferered a 3-0 hammering away at Sassusalo! Basel are by far the leagues best team and have won 8 of the last 9 meetings between the sides! This would be a tough game at the best of times for Luzeren but given they played on Thiraday night and Basel have had a full weeks rest and have started the season all guns blazing I’m taking Basel to continue that!

FJÖLNIR VS. ÍA (20.15 KO):
Fjolnir flew out of the blocks as a bit of a surprise package in the Icelandic top-flight but have been pegged back in their last few games.
Don’t read too much into their last result, a 3-1 loss to leaders FH – looks like FH have hit the groove again after their Euro Cup run seemed to take the wind out of their sails for 2 or 3 games.
IA have been quietly creeping up on the rail and for their part are potentially THE form team in the Urvalsdeild.
Unbeaten in 5 (no mean feat in this division) they have racked up 1-2-2-1-4-1 team goals in the process and will challenge the Fjolnir defence throughout.

I’m looking at big defender Mikael Lustig and I can’t believe 888sport are offering odds of 38/1 for first Goalscorer and 15/1 for anytime. Hi guy’s long time follower of the site and looking to put up a bit of info on my local league 1. Division in Denmark. The two team’s I am interested in today are HB Køge and Næstved. Both of which have signed young strikers from the super league., with something to prove.
Firstly HB Køge are a routined trup at this level , whereas their opposition Nykøbing are the surprise package with 2 win’s out of 2 after being promoted. They have invested and look good for a goal, but from what I have read, I feel HB Køge are going to ruin the party today.
They will want to dominate the tempo of the game and with their new signing Aleksandar Lazarevic at a lofty 192 cm and a pacey Jeppersen looking to show the home crowd what they are made of , this should be a step to far for the boy’s from Nykøbing.

I can’t believe the hype that Villa are going to do well this season. With the exception of a couple of players it is the same squad that was passionless and uninterested in there (pathetic) fight for relegation.

It’s 1-0 at half-time to Fiji which is a bit of shock as the bookies are still pricing Mexico at 1.25 for the win but they were far shorter at kick off
In their opening game Fiji also seemed to compete well in the first half as they were losing only 1-0 to South Korea at that point and went on to lose 8-0
Mexico earned a 2-2 draw with Germany in their opening match which seems to have been a pretty even game for the states with Germany dominating possessions but attempts on goal being fairly even
The thing that puts me off lumping on Mexico completely is that they aren’t dominating in the way Korea did as Mexico have only had 5 shots in the first half compared to 21 Korea had by that point
I’m hoping they maybe took Fiji likely in the first half and that Fiji will tire again

Just out of interest more than anything. The other day Nigeria played Japan in the Olympics in a 5-4 thriller. I only caught the highlights but it was clear to see the pace and power of the Nigerians made the Japanese struggle and their keeper was terrible. Today they play Colombia who have taken the likes of Pabon and Gutierrez in their squad, so they have some decent attacking options with experience, and with it being played in Brazil, they’ll be much more acclimatized and can see them getting a couple.
