IT was a night of drama in the Champions League with Celtic going through with a last-gasp penalty and seeds Shakhtar Donetsk, Anderlecht and Olympiakos crashing out.
I called the Celtic game pretty well by tipping Leigh Griffiths to score first and the Scottish champions to score 2+. I also said they could only beat themselves and once again they nearly did so by conceding a poor goal when seemingly in control.
Interestingly for scorer bets Moussa Dembele came on and took the second penalty and later explained when he's on the park he'll take them ahead of Griffiths.
Celtic now face Dundalk – and that's the one they'll want – Ludogerets, Dinamo Zagreb, Copenhagen or Hapoel Be'er Sheva and not Legia Warsaw as was reported earlier in the week.
I didn't trust Celtic enough to put them on the top tips and if I had they'd have put me through the mill.
My Top Treble was a flop but my goals treble won at 11-4 thanks to
both to score at Monaco v Fenerbahce, PAOK to score at home to Ajax and over 2.5 goals at Cumbernauld Colts v Hamilton U-20s in the IRN-BRU Cup.
That made it 12 out of 12 for overs in the first round of the new-look contest – worth remembering for the next stage.
I haven't put up a Super Single yet this month but this first one will be Newcastle to score 2+ at Fulham in the Championship opener on Friday. I've tipped them to win the league and putting faith in them right from the start.
Rafael Benitez took his summer spending to £45million yesterday by signing Mo Diame and Ciaran Clark while Fulham agreed with Aston Villa for star striker Ross McCormack.
Thursday's all about the
Europa League and games include Maribor v Aberdeen and West Ham v Domzale at their new home in the Olympic Stadium. The Dons have netted on six of eight Europa League trips and I reckon they'll score to give themselves a chance. That pays 1-2 at
Ladbrokes and they are 5-2 to net two plus.
To qualify the Dons are 11-8 at Skybet and 29-10 at McBookie for an away win that will see them progress.
How Maribor will react to the death of two reserve players in a car crash is anyone's guess. The tragedy could give them a cause or make them struggle to get up for a game so soon afterwards.
My guess is Maribor will edge it – possibly 2-1 – so best bets are both teams to score at 21-20 with 888sport and Maribor and both to score at 4-1 with 888sport.
I've spent a bit of time looking at the Europa League card and it's a big one. I'd look longer but need to concentrate some time on my weekend tips, anteposts and Daily Record column which returns to normal.
So I'm putting up two low-stakes trebles – it's not a tournament to take too many risks. The Top Treble starts with Hertha Berlin at Brondby. The Bundesliga side won just 1-0 at home but with better fitness should see off a team who lost against Hibs in Denmark in the last round.
Add Serie outft Sassuolo who will play their first European match at home. They're level 1-1 with Swiss side Lucerne and should finish them – could be goals here too so it's on the btts treble.
Complete the Top Treble with Rio Ave at home to Slavia Prague. The Portuguese outfit drew 0-0 in the Czech Republic and should use home advantage to battle through.

Does anyone know why Santos are 5/2 to beat Flamengo? Have half their players gone to the olympics or something? Seems crazy odds!
Have to be quick here before I acknowledge the losses tonight. Portland are playing a strong line up at home to Dragon and should get a big win here with the minnows form El Salvador with a big trip and late kick off.
Portland goal before 27:00 @ 5/6 @ 365 – 4.8 points
No luck tonight with Admira looking like they only turned up for the second half and Giovinco not firing in Toronto. Just posted the Portland goal but that will likely be it for Thursday with Friday looking very good.

Brazil v South Africa – Olympics
Gabriel Jesus ATGS Evens
Brazil kick off their attempt to win their first Olympic gold medal. They beat South Africa 3-1 in March and will likely start with an attacking front three of Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Gabigol. Gabriel Jesus you may of heard of recently as Pep has paid around 30m Euros to take him from Palmeiras to City after the end of the Brazil season in December (must rate him as he alledgedly rang him directly to convince him to sign). He has netted 26 goals in 67 starts and is the top scorer in Brazil Serie A. Hoping he can find the net and get Brazil’s campaign up and running.
Viitorul – Gent – Unibet
– Gent being almost certain of qualification after first leg (5-0) , i expect another open game considering that both team likes an offensive and spectacular style of play, 5 of the last 6 official matches played by Viitorul ended with at least 3 goals scored , and today will not be different ;)

Overnight banker surprisingly stunk out with sport Recife only managing a draw meaning a void but only a solo goal in Toronto which is hard to come by normally!
DAY 6 NAP
—————
West Ham -1 AH
Ponte preta 0.0 AH
£178 pays £352.44
Picked out 3 games for today, the West Ham I was always going to include, then Ponte preta and gremio, gremio are too short odds considering they have lost walace and Luan to the Brazil Olympic team and I’m not taking a chance at that at this point of the week, I was surprised by Ponte preta’ odds to win the game @11-10 as my research suggests they should snatch a win, draw at minimum! H2H’s have been close between these two in the past with a very similar record for both but botafogos away form isn’t something to shout about
Good luck all today
I also have picked out my selection tomorrow if today is successful, it’ll be another double at again surprisingly good odds of EVS so let’s hope we get to the home stretch!
Morning chaps. Singapore double for me today…
12:30PM – Singapore S-League
Tampines v Geylang
Must win game for Tampines today if they want to stay within touching distance of the league leaders Niigata. They’re decent at home with 24 goals notched from 8 games – having won 6 and lost only once. They are susceptible to a goal though having conceded 12 in those 8. Geylang are more than capable of scoring – having bagged 13 times in their 8 away games – but they concede a lot as well and can see them picking the ball out their own net a couple of times here today.
4 from the last 6 meetings between these two have seen at least 3 goals scored. Tampines have been involved with some rather high scoring matches of late – with their last 6 in all competitions seeing 3 goals or more scored. Geylang can say the same in 4 from the last 6.
Home v Warriors
After a decent start to their league campaign – Home are in poor form. With only 1 win from their last 10 in all competitions, they’re desperate to pick up a win here today. Similar to Home, Warriors are struggling for wins – having lost their last 4 matches, conceding 12 goals in those 4 games.
Head to head shows these two have seen a minimum of 3 goals scored in 8 of their last 9 meetings. 15 of Home’s last 17 matches in all competitions have seen at least 3 match goals scored. 4 from Warriors last 5 have seen the same.
Home have also scored at least 2 goals against Warriors in their last 6 meetings, and with Warriors conceding so many this season, I reckon we’ll see the same here again today.
Over 2.5 goals double @ 27/20 (Main Bet 1pt)
Tampines to win & over 2.5 match goals @ 11/10 (1pt)
Tampines +1.5 Team Goals
Home +1.5 Team Goals
Double @ 7/5 (0.5pts)
Good luck today everyone.
On your tips thanks @waddo which one would you most confident of if putting a higher stake? Im thinking the 2.5 goals double over the +1.5tgls as both home sides tend to concede
Hi mate, I’m pretty confident on the over 1.5 team goals double and the over 2.5 goals double – less so on the Tampines win & over 2.5 goals. Good luck.
Cheers buddy! Always like your tips so fingers crossed
Looking good @waddo just another home united goal needed :) for the double and hopefully some more goals for the 2.5 double
Get in!! Nice one @waddo ???
Top stuff yet again @waddo please keep them coming! Any Swedish u21 games today?
*Win* ?? Over 2.5 goals double @ 27/20
*Win* ?? Tampines to win & over 2.5 match goals @ 11/10
*Win* ?? Tampines & Home, over 1.5 Team Goals Double @ 7/5
@theboss and @hombre3000 – thanks lads! No Swedish matches today bud.
brilliant stuff @waddo, was on them all!
Nice one liamw, thanks
Well done pal !!!
Thanks matey
Well done waddo..was on the main bet
Cheers mate, nice profit for you then.
Sassuolo v Lucern BTTS 10/11
1-1 in the first leg. Lucern scoring plenty at the moment so should be confident with 6 in their last 2 Swiss league games – but have also conceded 4 goals. Sassuolo at home last season in Serie A scored 25 and conceded 20 goals. They only kept a Clean sheet in 25% of their home games. Ok Lucern may not be a Serie A team but they have more than a decent chance of scoring
One final punt
NK Domzale Goal before 79 mins 11/8
West Ham struggled in the first leg and they have not had a competitive game since to improve match fitness. Everything new for them tonight playing in the Olympic Stadium. Domzale had 6 shots on target in the first leg – hope they don’t just sit back and try and protect their lead
@waddo Cheers !! i like your bets ;) GL

Trying to look for contact details for oddschecker. Think they’ve been really poor recently as they don’t seem to be showing and prices for the SPL. No odds comparison for Celtic or Rangers game for Goalscorers. Being Thu these should already be showing or st least the majority should be. Poor show.
Yeah I’ve noticed that. Betrescue is an option.
Westham -1.5 ah 1.80
Sassuolo 1.5 team goals 1.72

Double pays 2.10
Cant wait for weekend. Looking at charlton to beat bury. I think Bury could very well get relegated this season amd are available at 3.25 for that so obviously bookies think that also. Too many players have left and no quality coming in. Plus leon clarkes a massive loss.
Sorry hullshaker just going off what im hearing off bury fans :S
No Hampy, you’re right – looking pretty bleak pal. The irony being we’ve probably the best traini g facilities in the lower leagues with City’s old set-up but little in terms of quality to train there ?
I know sounds ridiculous. The squad should always come first pal. Can only hope they can bring some decent players in with only 3 weeks or so to go .though the money isnt there in reality.
Westham -1.5 won
sassuolo 1.5 team goals won
double lost
My Barca/Celtic double landed last night, but as I’d already sailed past my speculative target of £37 before a ball was kicked, I decided to tweak it a little. My pot stood at £81 + loose change.
I kept back £40 ( I was only every going to put £37 or so onto that 9/10 double anyway ), but in the end had the double + a cheeky over 0.5 goal in the Scottish U20’s match + a legia warsaw double result.
Wake up balance was now £132. Treated myself to £20 withdrawal and I start from afresh today on £112. I have eyes on a couple of midday matches and a few teatime kickoffs to find a odd goal and depending on how that goes, I might do another 1/2 pot and take an in-play price boost on West Ham tonight. Your thoughts guys?
I know West Ham have the tie in the bag at 2-1 to take into the home leg and I think they’re around 1/4 to win. Not great hence I’ll wait 20 mins.
My mistake, apologies, West Ham trail 2-1 from the away leg, still can’t see them losing this tie though. Not sure on the quality of the side they put out in the 1st leg, but I’d assume they never went with a full squad starting 11 – as you do. So if there’s any hammers fans in here tonight, I guess you’d be the guys best equipped to comment on tonights line-up as and when its announced.
West Ham will be strong tonight because Bilic has said he wants through. Ring rust is the problem of course.

Well done alex. No probs waddo
Well my Irish u19s was a push yesterday with bohs drawing ,profit is profit , just shows always go with gut ! ?
Double for this afternoon, probably pick out some more later:
Vesa v CLE – CLE win (4/7)
This is a basement battle, and both teams are poor – but Vesa are truly hopeless. They’ve lost their last 11 games in a row. They are at home for this match, where they have scored just one goal in 6 games.That was also their only victory, a 1-0 scoreline. CLE have themselves only won 3 games, but should edge this.
Skarp v Tverrelvdalen
Skarp should win at a canter at home against the basement boys, whose goal stats read P11 F13 A42. Skarps stats are P11 F24 A18. They’ve lost their last 5. Nuff said.
Double pays 0.92/1:
Skarp v Tverrelvdalen O2.5 mgls (Norway, 6.15pm)
CLE to win (Finland Kolmonen, 4pm)
Good luck all with a bet on!
Yesterday was one to forget in SA but its back in the saddle and over to Iceland for a decent card…
I’ll mention one that should be well worth following in-play for goals although goal-line not yet set.
Orninn v Snaefell – actually now showing up as postponed on flashscore so won’t bother with reasoning…if it is on – keep an eye on it!
STJARNAN VS. VÍKINGUR REYKJAVÍK (21.00 KO):
Stjarnan are picking the form back up and have crept into 3rd, capitalising on recent slip-ups from FH and Fjolnir above them.
A win tonight will see them clear 2nd place and close the gap to leaders FH to just 3 points.
Standing in their way are a Vikingur side who themselves have hit a purple patch with 3 wins, 1 draw and just 1 loss in their last 5.
Their away form may hold the key though – out of their last 8 league away games, they have won only 1 and are up against a Stjarnan side who are no mugs at home.
There have been 3 H2Hs between the two within the last year with Stjarnan winning the most recent 1-2 and the others finishing 1-1 and 2-2.
3 Selections to consider:
STJARNAN OVER 1.5 TGS…5/6
BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…21/20
BTTS 2ND HALF…2/1
Best of luck.
For anyone interested the Nigerian football team have had their flight delayed so will now arrive in Rio just 18 hours before their match vs Japan after a 10 hour flight.

Have some insider info on a minor goalie crisis at the toon sels is going to start although he’s been dreadful and darlow been dropped who has been really good a lot of the players are unhappy with this aswell. My not matter at all but could be some unrest already!?
It’s one to watch but they paid £7m for Sels so he always going to start the season.
By all accounts he’s not very good and won’t like the rough an tumble of the championship where as darlow has been there an done it!
We shall see let’s
Just hope it’s not Ashley’s doing again
Benitez will walk if Ashley interferes in team selection.

Brazil open their Olympic campaign today aand if he starts there could be some value on the Palmeiras man who is being looked at by the giants of the football world. Gabriel Jesus has scored 14 goals in 26 appearances this season. Not to be confused with Gabriel Barbosa who plays for Santos would could also start in a three with Neymar. Both Gabriel’s are 19/20 @ William Hill to net anytime but my money would be on Jesus.

19:45PM – Europa League
West Ham v Domzale
I’m not really a big Europa league betting man – been burned so many times in the past with this competition, so will be keeping my stakes relatively low. Having said that – I do think there’s value in tonight match. This match has been covered by a few people on here already…
The Hammers MUST win this, or they’re out, already in these early stages. They’ve been poor this summer with just 1 win and not much else to shout about. Surely tonight though, everyone will be buzzing with their first match at the Olympic Stadium and hopefully a packed crowd. They have an away goal which may prove to be vital and will progress with a 1-0 win tonight…
Domzale were pretty decent last week and probably should be 3-1 or even 4-1 up in the tie, Adrian made some very important saves and kept his team in it. Their domestic season has already started and they looked fitter than the hammers players did last week. I think they’re very capable of notching here tonight but I do think ultimately West Ham will progress.

FA Community Shield – Manchester United – Leicester City
—————————————————————————
Manchester United :
– Jose Mourinho is in charge at Old Trafford this season , United landed the FA Cup at the end of last season , the Premier League campaign was decidedly average as they trailed in fifth to miss out on Champions League football. In his Chelsea days Mourinho lost the 2015 edition of this fixture, 1-0 to Arsenal and he was to leave Stamford Bridge half way through the season;
– Major transfers in: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly;
– United’s new signings were on target although Mkhitaryan’s goal was a consolation in a 4-1 defeat to Dortmund in the International Champions Cup in Shanghai. A few days later United’s derby clash with City in Beijing was canceled but Ibrahimovic was on target just 4 minutes into his debut, a 5-2 win over Galatasaray;
– So this tie comes at the perfect time for Mourinho’s side to show what they’re all about by putting a marker down against the Foxes, hoping to take their place as champions;
———————————————————————–
Leicester City :
– Leicester won the title last season with 10 points worth of daylight over Arsenal, an incredible rise to fame under Claudio Ranieri. That achievement always meant their top stars would be targeted by other clubs in the transfer window and so far Jamie Vardy has committed to staying, N’Golo Kante has moved to Chelsea and the club are hopeful of hanging on to Riyad Mahrez;
– Major transfers in: Luis Hernandez, Nampalys Mendy, Ahmed Musa, Ron-Robert Zieler
– All signings come to the Premier League with high reputations. Musa with his impressive knack for goals, getting himself into double figures over the past two seasons, despite being just 23-years old. Mendy finished as the French Ligue 1’s second highest passer with 2950 successful passes and an accuracy of 92 percent. Zieler’s 148 saves – the second in the German Bundesliga – and Hernandez’s 140 interceptions (highest in the Spanish La Liga) also earned them a move over to Leicester;
– Leicester have also been involved in the International Champions Cup, drawing 1-1 with Celtic and losing 4-0 to PSG and another lose to Barcelona 4-2;
—————————————————————–
– as much as the fans are all cheering and hoping Leicester would come out on top and go on to perform another miraculous season, we have to be realistic , i think the Leicester fairytale is over;
– the likes of Ibrahimovic will be keen to put an early marker down on the field, as will Mourinho in his quest to win over those fans who have questioned just how attractive their team will be to watch this season;
– both teams was involved in entertaining games in which we saw goals(less United’s game against Everton) and i think this will happend again;

mr f, shocking miss from rooney tried to dink it doon the middle an flaffed it…….. mcginn had the ball in the net tae……..
Poss red card as well depending how the new rule is interpreted but Rooney handled on deck so he couldn’t allow McGinn goal.
Rooney’s handball was hardly meant though? Clearly we should have won over 2 legs but officials were a joke tonight. That was a shocking challenge red all day long despite new rules. Stockley sent off a joke too.
Nothing went Aberdeen’s way but bottom line is penalty miss was costly.
Looks like ma treble could be down though as luzerne down to 10 men against sassulo still time though……….Mind u also still waiting on another Rijeka goal & cork to score…….
Ur treble looking good, let’s hope for early goal in Iceland
Get a bit lucky in one game Apollon vs Grasshoppers, 0-0 with 17mins to go and finishes 2-1
Then
Sonderjyske vs Zaglebie Lubin 1-1 and Zaglebie hit the post in the 89th min
All on West Ham v Domzale now
will take a wee dabble on both Iceland 8.15 ko’s o1.5fhgs 13/10 goal in both so far inside 10 mins
LOST
think the new rule will cause a few issues this season tbh mr f………….
Aberdeen RT7 15/4, 2 corners needed in 15 mins 2-5 atm
Wouldn’t touch this me not after last game when they couldn’t get another corner in 25 mins for me to complete my challenge. Returns were £1450. Couldn’t believe it
Went for the value harry, down tae 10 men and needing a goal but never happened. 3-5 it finished :(
Over 8 5 asian corners 2.00
Both lost, same old story though wi scottish teams in Europe although Hibs and Aberdeen were unlucky, Hearts just woeful. Celtic flying the flag for Scotland yet again but hopefully with a bit more bite than last year
Usual glorious failure for Dons – in fact couldn’t have been much more heartbreaking. Maribor were rotten too.
don’t care what anyone says absolute embarrassment again for Scottish fitba hearts, hibs an Aberdeen out of Europe afore a baws kicked in earnest ………………
Hearts yes but Hibs and Aberdeen were unlucky – missed pens costing them both.
stjarnan gone 1 up cover not quite there only 2/1 u2.5mgs will let it run………….

West Ham -1 AH — WON
Ponte preta 0.0 AH — PENDING
£178 pays £352.44
second leg of today’s nap is off in 20 mins, anxious about this game as I have what I think is a BANKER double tomorrow to finish this week and this is the last that I’m not wholly confident on, I had full confidence with my research but the odds seem to be far too generous which makes me question the pick?!!
Good luck nathan – Ponte Preta game should have goals and I hope they go your way ?
Cheers hull – nice shout in the Iceland game, had that one written as a potential home win but didn’t pick it
(As I write preta score?)

Nice one HullShaker, was on these – looking out for the night owl!
Should have said I missed it pre match so luckily was on the straight O2.5 in play and not the BTTS, you were very unlucky not to see them all come in though!

He’s not perfect but let him be.
Sorry crane slip of the tongue, I know your not a tipster, just like myself you Place bets that are researched & have a chance. I also never back a bet mentioned by someone without researching it myself
Have to say though crane think your bets are always cracking & if don’t win they close that’s why I often have a go on them

AT HALF TIME***
Cashed out my days NAP for £288.75 – decided it could go either way as botafogo have had few chances and is my last unsure pick
Will post my 7th and final tip on new thread in 5
Nice one, nathanl. What was your starting stake?
£20 mate, said I’d roll over 7 days as a new technique so last day tomorrow even if it wins (fingers crossed)
Think I’ll continue to tip in this way, that way people can jump on when they see something they like
Just saw your post on the latest thread. Good going, nathanl
