TopTips_Ladbrokes

ODD kept their side of the bargain by scoring against Borussia Dortmund – although maybe now they regret it.

The Norwegians levelled the tie on aggregate and brought up a 2.5pts Super Single at 6-4 before the Germans went goal crazy.

And well done to those who saw the tip and suggest Dortmund and btts – I wanted to see line-ups before backing it.

My only other bet on what was a usually difficult Europa League night was a goals double that was beaten by AZ v Astra.

So it was a 3.75pts win (forgot to stake off earlier) and a 2.4pts loss but a profit on EL ties is always acceptable.

At this time of the week my focus is on my Saturday tips and column in the Daily Record. Only when they're written will I look at Friday's card so hopefully some of the regulars will kick us off with a few pointers.

Lancashire strugglers Blackburn and Bolton meet in the English Championship while in Scotland Falkirk entertain Dumbarton. At first glance I'd go Bolton not to lose and both to score at Falkirk.

Villarreal face Espanyol in La Liga and there are usually goals when Wolfsburg take on Schalke at home.

I also like the look of Marseille at a Guingamp side who have lost their last three without scoring. Marseille won 6-0 at Troyes last week in Michel's first game as boss after opening with two defeats.

Goals fans will target the Dutch lower league and maybe the Austrian games and there are matches in Scandinavia and Ireland including Bohemians v Dundalk and St Pat's v Derry.

Having read Marseille have won seven of their last eight against Guingamp I'm chancing the visitors as the Super Single.

For a goals double I'm on btts at Falkirk with the last 11 of Dumbarton's away league matches going over 2.5 goals. Btts covers me for 1-1 but not 3-0 – and I'm adding San Jose v LA Galaxy over 2.5 goals.

I watched Galaxy's 5-1 rout of New York City last week and it could have been many more. There last nine have gone over 2.5 and they've netted 20 goals in their last five. Robbie Keane is 13-10 at bet365 to score and that's worth taking.

Ok enough is enough after losing 9 points tonight which could have been a lot more. Had to hunt around in play just to manage that.

I am going to concentrate on btts and over 2.5 mg markets. I am using a percentage average and h2h average for selections.

I will play 3 points on each selection.

I am also going to allow a max 3 extra points per day on purely wdw single games.

Cork City have had a rough couple of weeks in the Irish Premier League, losing 3-0 at Shamrock Rovers they’d take lightly, but their embarrassing 3-2 loss to bottom feeders Limerick wouldn’t have gone down well in the camp. Tomorrow they face a side that have slumped recently, with 4 losses in their last 5, Galway know tomorrow will be another tough game. Cork will be eager to keep the pressure on Dundalk who now have a 10 point gap so a win is vital. Galway have conceded 12 in their last 5, only scoring twice, and with a 2-0 h2h record for Cork this season scoring 2 or more, I expect a comfortable home win.

Cork are a short price but I’m going to go with a goalscorer who hasn’t produced over their last two losses, but had scored 5 goals in 4 games prior to that. Mark O’Sullivan has 9 goals so far and should get chances against an out of form side on the ropes.

Not sure I’d describe Limerick as bottom feeders. They are undeniably bottom of the league after a shocking start but are currently in great form scoring a lot of goals. I might be on them tonight as they are currently available at above evens to score 2+. I might be put off be the fact that they are missing two midfielders tonight, captain Duggan and a young African lad. Any Irish experts tell me how this might affect supply to strikers? Looks a good bet otherwise.

Last Friday 7 out of the 9 Dutch Juliper league matches went O2.5mgs, the other 2 games were 2-0 (close) and 0-0 (not so close).

Only 6 Dutch Juliper league games tonight neither of the teams involved in last weeks 0-0 are playing, all of the teams playing tonight has 2 or more goals in their matches last week.

(Word of caution though only 4 of the 9 games on Monday went over O2.5mgs)

  47. Hampy 9 years ago

Genk have a 2/2 win record at home zo far but form generally looks patchy at the moment. Charleroi have had 2 clean sheets in their last 3 games.
I could pick a result from that to be honest antonio. All that i can guess at looking at goals scored and conceeded is it points to an unders.
    Wont be on it myself

Not sure if anyone has noticed Jahn Regensburg in one of the lower german leagues. 100% record in the league. 5 games played. Not goal shy either. They play a team who have won 1 drawn 3 lost 1 and sit 8th in the table.
Normally i would be all over this due to amazing form but lately I have found this teams in great form seem to falter when I back them. ( the reverse happend when i bet against kamaz in the russian league)

  51. Paul 9 years ago

    @ Hampy,

Couldn’t agree more with your B’burn Vs Bolton prediction. It will be a rough affair. As a fan Rovers are in terrible form at the minute and our top scorer Rhodes is not fully fit so may not play. Bolton are also in a bad situation. Lack of form and lack of squad depth could see a low scoring game and lots of kicking the s$%t out of each other.

  52. Hampy 9 years ago

Boltons got big problems with money also. Both sides are troubled like you said paul. Can see rhodes moving on soon which would be devastating for you. Cant see anything other than a dull low scoring game.

    Howdy folks

Drogheda v Limerick LOI Premier 19:45

Relegation 6 pointer, if Limerick win they bring Drogheda right back into the relegation mix and will pretty much save their season from a point of hopelessness just a few weeks ago.

    Limerick look tasty @ 2.88 but a +2.5 goals bet @ 1.73 looks like a stick on.
6,5,7,5,5 are the goals tallys in Limericks lasr five matches as they have come out and “been brave in trying to win matches” according to their manager.

They are going for it, one big push, all or nothing, die dog or shite the license.
+3.5 goals is also very backable at 2.9 with BV/McB

    +2.5 goals @ 1.73 for me

    • Oggy 9 years ago

Fitba. I’m feeling drawn in by 11/10 available for Limerick to score 2 or more based on form. I did read though that two midfielders missing tonight including captain. Any idea how this will affect the team. Will the tactic of trying to out score the opposition still prevail?

    • Fitba Tips 9 years ago

      Oggy

Yeah I think Limerick have a great chance of scoring 2+ tonight. Drogheda are on a really poor run of form and missing a few themselves although they have signed a few old heads to try and steady the ship.

As for the missing Limerick players, I don’t know how much theyll miss them but they will be out for the win for sure. It’s going out to win games that has brought them back to within touching distance of the others and I dont see them abandoning that principle against the worst team in the league (at present).

    • Oggy 9 years ago

      Thanks Fitba

I’ve given it a go, and a small interest in 3+ goals. Cue the 0-0 draw!

  56. HullShaker 9 years ago

    Morning gents,

Will be swerving the Blackburn v B*lton game as it could be any result given the inconsistencies of both sides.

    Two for me tonigh…

    IR V AFTURELDING – 2 Deild 7.00 KO:

IR have been one of the consistent Icelandic teams to back and that should be the case again tonight.

They sit top and despite a hiccup against mid-table Hottur a while back, their form/goals count is solid with around 4 team goals being the norm.

Afturelding are no mugs and may well score but should be outgunned by IR’s attacking play.

OVER 2.5 GOALS at 1/2 is well on.

Also worth looking at IR on the h/cap and 3-1/4-1 as correct scores…not a fan of the latter bets myself but pay 11/1 and 18/1 respectively!

Will also be having a go at Over 1.5 goals in each of the 6 Dutch Jupiler games which pays 1.6/1.

    Good luck all.

  57. Hsta 9 years ago

Ufl cup final day! Big game between Kaya and last years cup winners Ceres. Kaya are the underdogs and have a key player injured.

Ceres won last year 1-0 in a tight final against global and I’m staying clear of goals bets in this one as Ceres do know how to shut up shop unlike practically every other team in the Philippines! I’ll likely be on Kaya at 4/5 but not decided whether this will be today’s nap or not yet.

Friday night football, usually gets bookies off to a weekend flier?Something for the weekend sir???

  61. Paul 9 years ago

    Yeh we both have problems,

The difference is Bolton debt is all owed to the owner of the club so unless he asks for it back (which won’t be likely as the club would go into ruin) they are fine but just have little to spend.

With rovers we are paying wages etc and created big debts over the past few seasons but Gary bowyer has steadied the ship.

That is another reason for a performance tonight he is under a lot of pressure for the sack from the media. I think its overhyped as he has done well with little money but the players may work that little harder.

I do like the look of Ben Marshall anytime scorer 4/1 at PP.

Also small stakes on Hanley and Duffy anytime scorers at 12/1 look good due to set pieces, Bolton are notorious for defending them badly and our defenders go up alot

  62. Hsta 9 years ago

Dom… Yeh they’re having a great season, they had a small squad last year and weren’t amazing for goals but this year they’re knocking loads in! If Kaya weren’t having such a surprisingly good season id be lumping on Ceres but it’s a cup final and anything can happen…. Even like last year when Ceres won, global were the bigger club, massive squad and better players but still lost. Ceres are growing as a club lately though I’ve got a hunch they’ll take the trophy

Reading a lot of talk about this match being fixed on twitter. Ural to lose to “thank” grozny for letting them win in this fixture last season.

    Look into it

  71. robbo 9 years ago

looking at the weekends fixtures in England ive made a shortlist of possibles, all prices bet365

villa 10-11 at home to a poor sunderland side
villa not great but think the price is generous given how bad sunderland are at defending

stoke 19-20 at home to west brom
pullis will set out for a dour 0-0 no doubt but I think stoke will have too much quality and nick a tight game

    Birmingham 12-5 at mk dons
I think the dons are in a false position after some kind fixtures and bham under rowett are no mugs despite having a limited squad(hes done a fantastic job with no money)could maybe see blues catching dons on the break and winning by the odd goal

    Walsall 17-20 at blackpool
the odds are too short for an away side in division 2 imo so will probably leave this one alone

    Gillingham 11-5 at peterboro
the price seems big, posh aren’t the team they were a few seasons ago but don’t really know much about Gillingham except they’ve got a decent manager in Justin Edinburgh

Plymouth 3-4 at home to Newport
Plymouth always decent at home and newports hastily put together squad will struggle this season

leyton orient 21-20 home to Bristol rovers
both teams doing well but fancy the o’s at odds against at home

Ural v Terek Grozny 3pm ko

Reading a lot of talk about this match being fixed on twitter. Ural to lose to “thank” grozny for letting them win in this fixture last season.

    Look into it

  77. Oggy 9 years ago

like the look of Marseille tonight at above evens. Guingamp off the back of a 3 nil defeat and Marseille just won 6 nil with ground to make up after a poor start and new manager in place. Also a really good head to head record.

Just got this week’s Free Kick newsletter and once again I am on a well-reasoned treble by Mark O’Haire. Last week only Reading’s failure to break down MK Dons scuppered the treble.

    Bristol City BTTS
    Bury win
Plymouth HT/FT (I might play it safer and go with Plymouth win)

Also, three aways is hard but I’m on small stakes with MrF’s away treble.

    Aberdeen
    Peterhead
    Walsall

    Two well reasoned bets.

  89. Danny T 9 years ago

Mr F the fair play rules have been relaxed also they base FFP on 3 season accounts it’s really complicated to explain it all in a post . However UEFA are due for a meeting very soon which seems to be an indication they will be relaxed further. The big money TV deal has helped as clubs can use projected future earnings in to the accounts for transfers now. The big clubs are expecting a pan European break away league to come about around 2022 . I follow this kind of stuff a lot as Liverpool were very close to a sanction hence the need to get the main stand bigger etc

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Danny T, it doesn’t make a lot sense – in the end only a few elite clubs will be able to win the Champions League. Or are we there already.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

John, you could do both sides double chance but that or as you say draw no bet are the only ways unless you wait for an inplay chance.

  93. Matty 9 years ago

Volendam look way to big of a price at 11/10 at home to VVV. Midweek they were 5/4 at one point away to Fotruna Sittard where they won 6-0.

They’ve won all 4 games so far with a +13 goal difference while VVV sit 11th with a record of 1-2-1 +3.

  98. RoyaleWithCheese 9 years ago

Dom7 Ah I see. I’ve just had a small bet on the away win

  99. Mark69 9 years ago

Usually when there are rumours of a fix & the match is under scrutiny the opposite to the fix happens to make it look good so I would have a small one on Ural double chance 8/11 so that way you have the draw too.

  100. Mr. Orange 9 years ago

I also saw those odds on Volendam Matty. They look to big and I think I will have a go. Volendam, NAC and Go Ahead are the best sides in this league.

I will also take over 1.5 team goals for Volendam and NAC @ 3.05

  101. Mark69 9 years ago

Royale, also Terek have drawn 4 of the last 5.

  102. Wato 9 years ago

Matty I had been looking at them myself over the last couple of days. The odds are shortening for the away side for some reason not sure if they have any key players missing for this game. I was tempted by over 1.5 Volendam goals at 5/6 but I have decided just to leave it. Have you backed them? I was also going to back goals in their last game and was kicking myself when they scored 2 early goals.

Billy McKay is the latest striker to be linked with Hibs despite Dundee United having agreed a fee with Wigan for the former Inverness Caley man.

The 26 year old was said to be in discussions with the Tayside club over personal terms but the Daily Record is reporting Alan Stubbs is keen on the Northern Ireland international although it appears based on the Hibees boss refusing to confirm or deny his interest in the player this afternoon.

It would be a bold move for Hibs and although it seems unlikely the player would choose to continue his career in the Championship rather than Premiership it can be argued he’d be joining the bigger club despite the two teams currently being a division apart.

McKay netted 54 top flight goals during his near 4 year spell in the Highlands and would be a terrific signing if there’s any truth in the story.

In a similar vein, rumours persist in the Capital regarding Hibs interest in Sheffield Wednesday striker Stevie May who is available for loan from the Owls after failing to convince new Hillsborough gaffer Carlos Carvalhal that he can fire the goals required by the English Championship side.

May is well down the pecking order in S6 and has been linked with Preston but if the rumours are to be believed, he could be set to return north of the border if Hibs can agree terms on a loan deal.

The former St Johnstone scored only 7 times for Wednesday in the league last season after agreeing a four year deal with the Steel City outfit but could still return to the club should his proposed loan move to Hibs or elsewhere prove a success.

Either player would prove to be a valuable signing should the speculation be correct and if they are the calibre of striking options interesting Stubbs then the club should be applauded for looking at proven players who’ll command a hefty wage rather than journeymen forwards of whom we’ve seen enough of at Easter Road to last a lifetime.

The obvious problem will be convincing players of this standard to sign for a club in the Scottish second tier however Stubbs is a popular man manager and sells the club well to potential recruits.

Only time will tell whether the stories prove to be correct

    • jim 9 years ago

Aberdeen should grab Stevie May. I’d love him to play for us.

JohnB I’m with you on this one and think Charlton are vastly underrated and overpriced at a Wolves side who have started poorly and took only 1 point at home too the 2 sides that Charlton defeated at home in Hull and QPR

    WEEKEND BETS

    PLYMOUTH V NEWPORT
    Plymouth Win/over 1.5 @ Evens paddypower
Plymouth have won 3 lost 1 so far this season whilst Newport have won 0 lost 3 from 4 and Only 1 team has scored more than Plymouth who have hit the net 9 times whilst Newport have conceded the 2nd most times in Lg 2 Nine times in total.
Evens looks a huge price for the Pilgrims to win by any score other than 1-0,snap it up.

    BLACKPOOL V WALSALL
    Walsall Win/over 1.5 @ 11/8 paddypower
As has been mentioned many times Blacpool are in dire straits losing 3/4 Legue 1games winning none and have conceded twice in each of thier 4 lg games this season sandwiched between those games was a demoralising 3-0 cup defeat against lg 2 Northampton.
Walsalls form has been an exact reverse of the Seasiders with 3 wins from 4 lg games losing none and scoring twice in each of those victories, they have also won 2 cup games against sides a division higher scoring 4 away to Nottm Forest and Twice at home to Brighton.
See no reason why Walsall won’t win and cover the 1.5 Tgs market in this one at what looks a very tasty price.

A lot of matches taking my fancy over the weekend, just one bet for tonight though

    Dijon v Creteil

The hosts have started the season well and have picked up maximum points from their two home matxhes winning 2-0 and 3-0 – Creteil have started in fashion alrhough they did lose to tonights opponents here on penalties after a 3-3 draw! Matches between the sides haven’t been short of goals with 19 goals scored in the last 5 meetings! 9 of the last 11 have seen both teams score and despite this league being goal shy there’s enough to suggest to me Its worth a stake as odds against

    Saturday – Premier League

    Bournemouth/Leicester BTTS
Manchester City Over 1.5 Team Goals

    Just over 11/10 @ Boyles (2.125 Decimal Odds) – 4 points

    Bournemouth/Leicester BTTS & Over 2.5 Match Goals
    Manchester City -1.5AH
Chelsea/Crystal Palace BTTS & Over 2.5 Match Goals

    Just under 7/1 @ 365 (6.93/1) – 1 point

Seven of Leicester’s last 10 away games have had at least three goals (five had had four or more) as have 15 of Bournemouth’s last 20 at home in all competitions. Should see goals here and I expect BTTS with Bournemouths 4-3 thriller in London last week, with Leicester picking up where they left off last season scoring and conceding in every game this season.

If someone was to predict that Chelsea would concede 2 or more goals in their first three games, they’d be hung, drawn and quartered, but this is the Premier League and it has happened. West Brom hadn’t even scored until their two goals from James Morrison against the Blues on Sunday. Swansea and Manchester City showed that pace can hurt the ageing Chelsea defence, and another side which brings abundance of those traits are at Stamford Bridge tomorrow. Sunderland are the only team to concede more goals than Chelsea so far (I was surprised too). All 3 of Palaces games have seen BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals and I think Palace could notch one at the bridge tomorrow if they take a leaf out of Swansea and Cities game plan.

Manchester City have won 14 of 15 home games against promoted teams since 2010/11. Since then, 32 promoted teams have travelled to sides that have been in the top three and 28 have been beaten with none winning. City have won their last eight home games (7 of them to nil and by at least 2 clear goals). Watford have struggled to score since their opening day at Goodison Park, and with City high flying I think a 2 or 3-0 scoreline is an acceptable estimate.

    Premier League

    13:45 Newcastle United vs Arsenal – Prediction – 2.2 – Suggested bets – BTTS @5/6

I expect a pretty interesting game here with Arsenal yet to find top form so far this season with just 4 points from 3 games and this visit to Newcastle is unlikely to be straightforward.

On the road, Arsenal are rarely that secure at the back with just 2 clean sheets in their previous 13 away games in the league and with their first choice centre back pairing of Koscielny and Mertesacker missing for this one, I feel it could be a tricky one for Arsenal to win today.

Newcastle do seem to have improved under Steve McClaren although they could hardly get much worse than last season’s dismal side so while their is a renewed sense of optimism in Geordieland, they need a good home performance to get the support fully behind them in the coming weeks and they may well get it here.

Good money has been spent for a change on the likes of Mitrovic, Thauvin and Wijnaldum and Newcastle should be a better team for it and with Arsenal vulnerable at the moment, I fancy BTTS and a possible share of the spoils.

Newcastle have scored in 12 of their last 13 home league fixtures while Arsenal are leaky on the road, keeping just 5 away clean sheets from all 18 league games last season, and with Koscielny and Mertesacker missing, I expect BTTS @5/6.

    16:00 Bournemouth vs Leicester – Prediction – 2.2 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @4/6

Without even looking at the stats, this is a fixture that really jumps out at me as one that should see some goals.

Bournemouth will be full of confidence following their fine 4.3 win at West Ham while Leicester come into this game as one of THE form teams in the country having followed up their amazing end to last season with a further 7 points from 9 so far this time around.

Bournemouth we know are an attacking outfit, and their fixtures should be ripe for BTTS this season with their philosophy very much about out-scoring their opponents. In Calum Wilson they have a young striker that is a real prospect, evidenced by his super hat-trick last time around (in my fantasy squad since day 1) and I fancy the home side to give it another big effort today. Bournemouth have scored 18 in their last 7 competitive home fixtures and I believe they can do it again today.

Leicester are unbeaten in 13 fixtures going back to last season and have seen all 5 of their last fixtures producing BTTS (10 in a row if you include pre-season fixtures) and given that they have scored on the road in 9 of their most recent 11 league games we can be confident they will find they net again here.

I like Bournmouth though, and I think they can take a point here in an entertaining fixture between 2 fan friendly teams.

16:00 Manchester City vs Watford – Prediction 3.0- Suggested Bets – Man City -1, Silva to score anytime @6/4

Man City have been tremendous so far and it’s hard to see how Watford can stop them here although the new boys are undefeated so far with 3 draws from 3 so they will come to Manchester with a degree of confidence.

The hosts should sweep through the visitors today though and I am expecting that they will cover the handicap @ 8/15 with goals likely. City have won 7 of their last 8 home league fixtures by more than 1 goal and I will be surprised if they don’t manage it again here although Watford are probably not the worst team in the division and do have a wily fox in Quique Flores as their new boss.

Still, Sergio Aguero is in tremendous form, averaging a goal a game and with creator in chief David Silva at the heart of everything going forward and I can’t see it being different here. I expect the Argentine hitman Aguero to score again but so do the bookies with odds as short as 4/9 on a goal anytime or a crazy short 12/5 on the forward for the first goal.

Therefor you might want to try Silva @6/4 to score anytime, given his current form and the likelyhood that City will score at least 2 or 3 here.

The Spaniard managed 8 goals in 16 home games last season (12 overall for the campaign) and I like his chances again here.

16:00 Chelsea vs Crystal Palace – Prediction 4.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS @1/1 BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 7/5, Pedro to score anytime @7/5

Like their London rivals Arsenal, Chelsea have really struggled so far this term and it took them until their 3rd fixture to earn 3 points, and they were perhaps fortunate to hold on for a 3.2 win at WBA having had skipper John Terry dismissed early in the 2nd half.

The new arrival of Pedro will certainly spark an improvement in attack and having tipped the little man to start and make an impact last weekend, I am backing him again to find the net anytime @7/5 in another game that could be entertaining.

Palace are really strong on the road under Alan Pardew, scoring in 19 in their last 9 away league games stretching back to last season although they did fail to find the net on their last visit to Stamford Bridge as recently as May, losing narrowly by 1 goal to nil.

Still, this Chelsea team don’t look anywhere nearly as solid as that and it could be that they need to outscore Palace today to get the win with the visitors really dangerous going forward.

Terry of course is suspended so Kurt Zouma will fill in at the back and with Palace having so much pace in attack, it might be a blessing in disguise for Chelsea with Zouma a much quicker defender than the aforementioned Terry.

I have a feeling though that we might see something of a thriller here with Chelsea seeing over 2.5 goals in their last 5 league games and Palace seeing BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 9 away games.

I’ve gone for a 4.2 win for Chelsea at a big price of 40/1 in my prediction for this one and having then looked back at last seasons results, it also turns out that Chelsea won their 2nd home fixture of the season 4.2 against Swansea. Could we see a repeat today?

1/1 is a great price for BTTS and if you want to be a little bolder, the 7/5 on the BTTS and over 2.5 goal market looks good to me.

16:00 Liverpool vs West Ham – Prediction – 2.0 – Suggested Bets – No bets

I’m not too impressed with Slaven Bilic and West Ham so far this season, and while I do expect a home win, the 4/11 on offer is far too short for me.

Liverpool do look to have improved but the price is just too damn short. And I certainly haven’t forgotten that opening day away win for the Hammers at Arsenal so this is a fixture probably best ignored.

    No bets.

16:00 Aston Villa vs Sunderland = No bets

No thanks. Not touching this one.

16:00 Stoke vs West Bromwich Albion – Prediction -1.0 – Suggested bets – No bet

This is the kind of fixture that could go either way, and I don’t expect many goals so I am giving this one a miss.

If I had to, I’d suggest a narrow home win.

    18:30 Tottenham vs Everton – Prediction – 1.2 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @4/6, Everton not to lose @5/6

The live tea-time TV game comes from White Hart Lane and it should be a decent encounter with Everton in confident mood following their recent 3.0 thumping win at Southampton.

Spurs don’t seem to have improved this season, certainly not so far, and with 2 draws and 1 defeat, they are still searching for a first win of the new campaign and I fancy Everton can come away with at least a point here to frustrate the hosts.

The visitors can be backed at 16/5 to claim the 3 points but I prefer the 5/6 on offer for Roberto Martinez’s side to avoid defeat, given their recent performances and Spurs lacklustre displays so far.

BTTS is likely though @4/6 odds with Everton scoring in their last 5 away games and looking a much improved side to that of 6 to 12 months ago while 4 of the last 6 meetings between these 2 sides in London also saw BTTS, most recently in Spurs 2.1 success from last season.

Spurs do usually score at home (8 in their last 10 with 7 of those BTTS) and I expect they will again here with Everton rarely keeping clean sheets on the road as well with just 2 in 18 away games last season.

My gut is telling me that we might see a surprise away win so you might want to try the big 16/5 on that but for me it’s BTTS and Everton not to lose.

    Suggested Bets

    Newcastle v Arsenal – BTTS @ 5/6
    Bournemouth v Leicester – BTTS @4/6
    Man City -1 @8/15
David Silva to score anytime @6/4
    Chelsea v Palace – BTTS @1/1, BTTS and over 2.5 @7/5
    Pedro to score anytime @7/5
Tottenham vs Everton – BTTS @4/6
Tottenham vs Everton – Everton not to lose @5/6

    Bonkers Bet

    Chelsea 4 v 2 Palace @40/1

Horn got relegated last season and have started well this season at home with 2 wins from 2 scoring 10 goals in the process although 8 of them came in the last game.

Amstetten have started well as well but did lose their only away game 3-0 and the 2 wins and a draw at home have all come against teams no higher than 10th in the league while Horn are currently 3rd

Fancy a few goals so am on Horn over 2.5tg @ 2.25

  159. keecy 9 years ago

Mr F what’s your thoughts on the hibs v raith game? Raith in good form and read in another thread that john daly has joined from rangers. raith to score 2 is 11/4 pp. Another tie I have been looking at is bologna v sassuolo tomorrow. Sassuola 12/5 and appear to be the form side.Sassoola have won 4/5 of their last away games.

I have got both the above and dunfermline -2 and hearts to score 2 in an accumulator.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

keecy, I reckon Hibs v Raith will be a draw. Daly’s signed and may start but could take him a few weeks to find some form after a dismal time at Rangers.

  160. mattr 9 years ago

Yes I’m a Spurs fan but trust me I have been one long enough to be totally realistic and I honestly feel anyone backing Everton tomorrow is going to lose their cash. Having watched all 3 of our games so far, in detail, I have to say, despite the media (especially Jeff and the boys) taking their usual negative stance, that I feel we have looked pretty good and were unlucky not to get a better result in all 3 games. I know you make your own luck but tomorrow I believe we will. Now Spurs have let me down more times than I care to remember and I would never bet on or against them myself but don’t say you haven’t been warned if liking the look of the Toffees.

Man City to keep a Clean Sheet at home to Watford tomorrow pays 10/11 !!!

Watford have failed to score in both their home games against West Brom and Southampton while City have looked solid and shut out West Brom (A), Chelsea (H) and Everton (A). This is very generous odds. Watford have the pace to hit City on the counter and are certainly capable of scoring but those odds are too good to miss out on.

    Plymouth v Newport

I’ve been following with interest the developments at Rodney Parade this season since their Millionaire fan owner resigned in the summer! Newport’s rise from conference to league 2 was no coincidence that it coincided with county Fan Scadding winning £46m on the euro millions! He’s away and so appears are the good times! Finacial insecurity saw a number of players leave in the summer and results so far this seaaon have been poor! They sit 2nd bottom with just a solitary point and have concdeded 2 or more in 4 of their 5 games this season! They visit a Plymouyh side who have a had a great start winning 3 of their 4 leagie games and scoring goals in the process! It’s a tough ask for butcher who takes on his old Highland enemy Derek Adams! Things are bleed At Newport and Plymouth should take advantage of that

My tips for Holland for this weekend are:
    AZ Alkmaar wins
Heerenveen make at least two goals
Den Haag is a team that plays always for winning. So Den Haag scores a goal against AJAX
The defence of PSV Eindhoven is not so good.
Feijenoord scores a goal against PSV Eindhoven.

I wish you all good luck. Lets us take the bookies by the balls.

  214. ryan 9 years ago

Thanks for the nice comments re my Premier League preview. Here are my Championship tips on selected matches

    13:05 Derby vs Leeds – Prediction – 1.1 Suggested Bets – Draw @ 14/5, BTTS @ 5/6

I don’t like early kick-offs but a draw could be the bet to have with neither side winning a game so far this season and Derby still struggling to adapt to their new manager Paul Clement’s methods.

Derby have drawn 6 of their last 7 league games including 3 from 4 this season, and Leeds each of their last 5 so you have to like the 14/5 on the draw while goals are also possible when you look at the stats.

The hosts have just 1 clean sheet from their last 7 home league games while Leeds have managed to score in 11 of their last 13 away league ties. BTTS is a decent 5/6.

16:00 Nottingham Forest vs Cardiff – Prediction 2.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS @4/5

Goals look likely here with Cardiff visiting Nottingham and the stats are on our side for BTTS priced @ 4/5.

7 of Forest’s last 10 at home have seen BTTS with 9 of their last 11 overall resulting in the same outcome. A 0.0 draw with Charlton in their last home match was hopefully only an anomaly and I don’t expect a repeat here with Caridff a more attacking team than Charlton and Forest do usually score at home having managed that in 16 of their last 20 at home.

Further confidence can be taken from Cardiff’s record of BTTS with each of their last 8 away league games finishing with both sides scoring. They have also managed a goal in 15 of their last 16 away games in the Championship and given that they won 2.1 at Forest as recently as May, the chances are favourable on another BTTS here. The other fixture between the 2 sides last season also went with BTTS and I am confident it will happen again here @4/5 odds.

    16:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Charlton – Prediction – 2.2 – Suggested bet – BTTS @5/6

Wolves are 17/20 odds on favourites to beat Charlton here but I’m not convinced and I fancy the tempting BTTS odds with Charlton an under-rated side.

While the visitors are rarely involved in high scoring away games, with each of their last 5 on the road finishing under 2.5 goals but 3 of those did see BTTS and they are a capable bunch under the experienced Belgian boss, Guy Luzon with only 2 losses from their last 8 away fixtures in the league.

Last year Wolves were a strong, attacking team that narrowly missed out on the play-offs, mostly due to their leaky defence. Each of their last 5 at home have seen BTTS, 3 at the tail end of last season and 2 more at the start of this. 9 goals leaked in 5 fixture with 0 clean sheets tells it’s own story and while they should improve in coming weeks, it might not start today.

Given Wolves attacking record, scoring in 15 of their previous 16 home fixtures, and Charlton’s decent away form, I fancy a share of the spoils with BTTS @5/6 representing a decent price.

    16:00 Ipswich vs Brighton – Prediction -2.1 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @5/6

I’m expecting a close encounter here with the potential for goals as the top 2 in the division clash with both sides unbeaten records on the line.

Ipswich are kings of the BTTS market in recent months with 12 of their last 13 league fixtures resulting in my favoured outcome and while much of that happened last season, they have continued the trend with 5 out of 6 fixtures so far this season also seeing BTTS although their last home league fixture did finish 2.0 to the home side.

Brighton arrive unbeaten and vastly improved on last season’s side and given their form and Ipswich’s leaky nature I do fancy them to score in what will surely be a closely fought match between two sides in top form.

Ipswich are 6/5 for the win, and while they might just edge it, with Freddie Sears in particular red hot form with 4 goals and 4 assists this season, I feel Brighton are capable of taking something or at least scoring, so I’ll take the 5/6 on offer for BTTS.

    16:00 Huddersfield vs Queens Park Rangers – Prediction 2.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS @ 4/6, Draw @ 5/2

BTTS is possible here with 10 of Hudderfields last 14 home fixtures, and each of their last 5 home games producing BTTS and we might see another one here with QPR the visitors today.

QPR have seen 15 goals scored in their last 3 fixtures with BTTS in all 3 and while they look impressive going forward, they have conceded 2 in each of their last 4 league games and it would be a surprise if they kept a clean sheet having done so just once on the road last season, albeit in the higher division.

The hosts have drawn each of their last 4 at home and have lost only 1 of their last 11 league games, drawing a remarkable 7 of their last 8 and i’m going for a repeat today with goals likely.

    16:00 Rotherham vs Fulham – Prediction 1.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS @8/11, BTTS and over 2.5 @6/5

As you can see with my selections I’m concentrating on goals and this is my final pick for the Championship with stats suggesting BTTS is quite possible @8/11 between 2 sides still searching for a first win this season.

8 of Rotherham’s last 10 home league fixtures resulted in BTTS and while they look set for a hard season near the bottom of the league, they are capable of scoring here against a leaky Fulham having scored at least once in 10 of their last 11 home ties.

Fulham have seen BTTS in each of their 4 fixtures so far this season and going back to last season they have seen 10 of their last 11 league games all finishing with BTTS.

Given the desperation of both sides to get their first win of the season, i fancy an open game with goals likely and I’m going for BTTS @8/11 and BTTS and over 2.5 goals @6/5 with both sides seeing over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 6 fixtures.

    Suggested Bets

    Forest v Cardiff – BTTS @4/5
    Ipswich v Brighton – BTTS @5/6
    Wolves v Charlton – BTTS @5/6
    Huddersfield v QPR = BTTS @4/6, Draw @5/2
    Rotherham v Fulham – BTTS @ 8/11, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @6/5
    Derby v Leeds – BTTS @5/6

    Mark O’Sullivan (Cork City) Anytime @ 6/5 @ Ladbrokes – 2 points **LOSE**

Big day needed tomorrow but still 16.45 up for now. 10 points out on tomorrows bets.

First MLS game of the weekend is being played tomorrow morning when two of the top 3’s Western Conference sides play in California. Some will see that I posted LA Galaxy to win the MLS Cup this week, but this game could throw up a red herring with the Earthquakes winning their last 3 to nil against decent opposition on their day. The addition of Dos Santos might give Galaxy the boost they need to consistently pick up points on the road which they’ve struggled to do all season up until this month. This is one of the biggest rivalries in ‘soccer’, The California Classico some say.

Can’t really determine which way this one will end up but there should be goals at both ends of the field. Robbie Keane and Chris Wondolowski are both in scoring form, Keane has a brace in his last two games (13 in 10 and 6 in 4) with Wondolowski scoring 3 in his last 2 with a brace in Kansas.

    Just small bets here.

Chris Wondolowski and Robbie Keane Anytime Goalscorer Doubled @ 6/1 @ Skybet – 1 point

    Both teams to score in both halves @ 12/1 @ WillHill – 0.45 of a point (£4.50)

  255. Kal 9 years ago

Mr fix it what is ur record for this year so far. U only put up months

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Kal, they’re all archived if you want to look back.
The most important thing is the next tip.

  256. Nick 9 years ago

1.7 for o2.5 in the Galaxy game?!?

  257. keecy 9 years ago

cheers for the reply Mr F. Good to see Dost getting back to his goal scoring ways. Surprised with the Marseile result…they had a few chances but sel a vie… onto the main event tomorrow.

Teams I am looking at – wycombe, Coventry, Peterhead, dunfermline, sassuolo, hearts, Leyton Orient & Plymouth

As for hearts – this is probably the toughest challenge so far for us. Players rested mid week. I think the team is going to be well up for this fixture.

  258. Kal 9 years ago

This page is an oponion page. U put up ur oppionns. We would all be millionaires otherwise

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Kal, that’s your opinion. You don’t like it don’t read – tens of thousands do like it though.

  259. Tigerman1 9 years ago

Anyone on the Mexican league tonight?:)

  260. craneguy 9 years ago

aye nae bother kal did you get pass in your O level spellin’…………..

  261. keecy 9 years ago

Kal tipping is an opinion of the tipster. Up to you if you follow. Some you win, some you lose.

  262. Wato 9 years ago

In my “opinion” it’s a football betting tips page and an excellent one at that

  263. perlosky 9 years ago

Just one for me- Christopher lawamdoski(atgs)San Jose earthquake.

  264. Jordan 9 years ago

That would be Chris Wondolowski mate

  265. Greg Browning 9 years ago

    Motherwell v Kilmarnock

Both these sides managed a much needed win midweek to slightly ease the pressure on their respective managers ( albeit in the cup against lower league oppostion). However defeat in this match will see certain see the losing mangers position in question! Both clubs are on poor runs and defensively have been a shambles! There is enough of an attacking threat from both teams to suggest goals could be on the cards

Back over 2.5 match goals 17/20

Two other matches I’ll be on for goals

Peterborough v Gillingham over 2.5 match goals 19/20

AFC Winbeldon v Exeter over 2.5 match goals 43/40

  266. Jordan 9 years ago

1000 points? What you betting with Kal? Marbles?

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jordan, I think he’s lost his marbles. Just a rabble rouser – we get one now and then as you know.

  267. Kal 9 years ago

I followed ur marsielle tipfor 1000pts. It wasnt a tip tho. It was ur oponion. Thats why i asked why u dont put up yearly profit or loss istead of monthly

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

      Kal, you’re boring me. Goodbye.
PS. The Marseille tip was a couple of points – there’s no way you put 1000pts on it.
If you did you’re an idiot.

  268. Jordan 9 years ago

More fool you for backing an ‘opinion’ Kal. Its ok we all lose. Chin up.

  269. Nick 9 years ago

Biggest bet so far of the season tonight on Galaxy vs Earthquakes o2.5, 0-0 anybody?

  270. Jordan 9 years ago

Nick, as you might have seen I’m on a couple bets that needs goals so fingers crossed mate.

  271. Dave Wiseman 9 years ago

    Veracruz btts 34.54 returned WON

Veracruz o2.5 mg 38.00 returned WON

Nice start to Saturday, hope it continues.
