RANGERS let me down big time last night as they struggled to a 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock. That beat the Super Single I doubled with Dundalk.

My Dutch treble saw two out of three winners while the other game produced a rare 0-0 draw.

I'm still showing decent profit for the month but it could have been better.

So we turn our attentions to Saturday and what looks another tough card especially in England.

I've posted separate Scottish and English previews – and check out Scott's European tips.

The card's so tough today that I'm keeping it to fairly low stakes.

    SATURDAY
Accrington’s three of four games so far have gone BTTS and Morecambe have potted in 3/4 of their outings so far. Corresponding fixture last season was 2-2 and 5/6 H2Hs have gone BTTS.

MK Dons have netted in all their games so far while Peterborough are League One’s second top scorers (9) and have conceded 6.

Chester’s first five games have averaged 3.4 match goals and Sutton, in 3rd place, have netted in all five of their games, conceding in both the away fixtures.

    *** Repost from Friday’s Thread ***

Good morning one and all, it is your main man Max here, with you’re Saturdays tips. Man City weren’t my friends in midweek but I hope the red side of the city are. I haven’t posted any tips in the past few days and there wont be any from me on tonight’s games. It is important to me that discipline is key, you don’t have to bet everyday and I think my followers appreciate that. I have commitments to fulfil over the next 24-36hrs so may not have time to dedicate to researching the 3pm games.

I do however, as my followers know and regulars on here, Man Utd are my go to team. I have landed NAP’s and NB’s in all 3 united games this season including the community shield, and have tipped Man Utd to win (1/2 Various) Zlatan to score (21/20 Stan James) and UTD O1.5tg (7/10 Coral) in all 3 games so why should I go against them tonight?

Hull have started the season so well, but I still expect them to be relegated. I don’t apologise for the same 3 tips on this game that have landed in all 3 United games this season and I am sure my followers cant wait for 5:30pm after avoiding the minefield of the 3pm kick offs. (Small stakes if your punting on these games)

Man Utd to Beat Hull 1/2 NAP (20PTS)
    Man Utd O1.5g 7/10 NB (10PTS)
    Ibrahimovic to score 21/20 (5PTS)

These tips have landed in all 3 games so far this season and I have tipped them in everyone of those. I wonder can I make it 4 in full houses in a row with Man Utd games? If I do I know plenty of you will be rich and it will be a happy site!

    Morning all.
Up bright and early for my first game of the season (and I can’t wait), should be a cracker!
    Huddersfield v Wolves
I’ll get my first look at our new signings since the takeover and boy what a game it is.
Both teams unbeaten so far so something has to give.
I backed Wolves last week to win from behind at St Andrews when I saw the starting line up. A starting line up that consisted with the new boys on the bench. As it goes the new boys weren’t needed even at 1-0 down as Wolves came back to win 3-1.
I can see Huddersfield starting on the front foot and wouldn’t be surprised to see us concede first again but we seem to finish stronger generally with our newer exciting players coming off the bench and causing havoc. It’s worth checking the starting eleven first but if we go with a midfield of Evans and Coady I’ll be on the 12/1 for Wolves to win from behind again
I’ve had a cheeky bet on us to be 1-0 down at HT and then win 4-1 which pays a nice 1,000/1 (optimistic I know).

As it’s my first game of the campaign and I’m feeling optimistic (even before the beers) I’ll be on these:
    Wolves to win
    5/2
    Wolves over 1.5TG
    41/20

Aside from that I’ll be on these:
    Chelsea win/over 1.5
    Dortmund win/over 1.5
    Real Madrid win/over 1.5
    2/1
    Betstars

    Chelsea
    Southampton
    Leicester
    Fulham
    7.36/1

    BTTS:
    Forest v Leeds
    Charlton v Bolton
    Watford v Arsenal
    Blackburn v Fulham

All the best for today folks!

    • richb20806 8 years ago

Yeah agree on the Wolves comments…. We’re looking like a different team at the moment. If also be putting some change on the ATGS market with mason and bodvarsson scoring. Or even Skybets 10/1 in them both to score.

After posting 5 solid tips from 4 matches on Derby County, I’ve been left bewildered by 2 woeful games and 3 sunk tips over the past 2 games.
On Tuesday, they conceded in the 95th to hand Carlisle a draw that took us into extra time and then the league cup record of 14-13 win on penalty’s. Carlisle should feel hard done to because they bossed the pitch for the first 45 mins. It took halftime subs to give Derby the impetus to take charge of the game, but it was still well below par.

I watched the Burton/Derby game and we deserved to be beaten. Burton dictated the whole match, Derby rarely threatened and many of our late season habits started to show its face in that game.
Burton closed down every ball, they used muscle to win all the 50/50’s and I felt Derby never even got out of 2nd gear.
We have the squad to win the league but if they don’t work for it ( and together ), we’ll win nothing. We played Bryson and Hughes in front of the back 4 ( possibly our most potent attacking midfielder and our most creative player playing 20 yards behind Butterfield, with Ince and Russell out wide. No service to Martin and now we’ve 1 league goal in 5 matches.
Burton played a 3 central defender back line, a pair of wing backs, 3 central midfielders and a front 2. Derby have the players to do that, but Pearson seems clueless in his pursuit of finding that winning combination.
How is it possible he can do so well with Leicester, then come to the Ipro and do so badly. He’s putting the wrong players in places they’re not supposed to play then making his excuses post match in front of the camera’s.

Mel Morris swung the axe at the last manager when we were in 5th spot because the manager wasn’t ” playing the Derby way “. – so what is the ” Derby Way ?? ”
    He’s abandoned the 4-3-3 and tried 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1, 4-5-1 and 4-2-3-1 and we’ve won 1, drawn 2, lost 2 and had 1 straight league cup win and a close-shave win on penalties.
We’ve scored 1 league goal, 2 in the league cup ( but.. nudge nudge wink wink… we can pump up those stats with the 14 penalties in the last round ).
Square pegs and round holes doesn’t work, and neither it seems does having far too many players to choose from. Some need to be moved on, some we need to cut our losses on, but we have to move forward, but with no more new signings. He doesn’t know his best 11 with the players we have, how is he supposed to know his best 11 with another couple of signings?? CLUE: Villa never played Bent and couldn’t wait to offload him, so why does the boss have so much faith in him?? He’s lazy – get rid.
Roll on October/November, its usually derby’s historic purple patch, hopefully we might have a manager who knows how to manage before then.

    Morning gents,

Best advice for Saturdays is don’t put any early KO’s in your accas – stings you every time and will have you crying into your 3.00 pint ?

I see some serious banana skins in todays English Premier League games and i’ll be giving it a wide berth – in fact (as Mr F says) it doesn’t look very appealling in general.

Instead, I’ll be heading straight to the NLN for this one:

    DARLINGTON 1883 VS. ALFRETON TOWN:

It’s no secret I fancy Darlo to have a great campaign and I’ve been courting the home side for team goals this season to good effect.

Today sees a visit from Alfreton and I see the Derbyshire side having a miserable journey back home as they take on a solid outfit at Heritage Park.

Alfreton have seen a hefty amount of goals in 4 of their 5 competitive games with 8-5-1-4-7 match goals scored and more notably, 5-2-1-0-4 goals conceded.

Darlington are consistent up top and have scored 2+ goals in each of their 5 games and have a much less ‘porous’ defence than Alfreton whom I think will struggle to break down the home side and will be picked off on the counter.

    3 selections to consider:

    DARLINGTON 1883 WIN…10/11

    DARLINGTON 1883 -1 H/CAP…3/1

    DARLINGTON 1883 -2 H/CAP…8/1

    * No prices for team goals but I’ll be taking Over 1.5/Over 2.5 if they appear at the right price.

    Best of luck ?

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Prices quoted from Coral first thing but see 365 have Darlo at 6/5 – it’s way too big and I’m all over it!

    • leroy 8 years ago

Agreed Hull. Somewhat surprised that Darlington have, if anything, drifted in price. Unibet go 1/1 on O1.5 Team Goals and I’m tempted to have a pop at that.

I’m on it Hull! Lumped my returns on from Warks Daggers tip. Good luck!

Youre a top man Hull but those Alfretons are gonna be singin goin home in the bus today lol

      I know ?…only just mind – 2 late ones for Darlo…3-4

SUMMARY: John Still’s boys came up trumps for me last week within 19mins, and I’m backing them again today against a Wrexham side struggling for form. On the road they’ve recently been shipping goals, and I fully expect free scoring Dagenham to net a couple here.

    Morning gents

Had a shocker last night, thankfully it’s the first one I’ve had this season! Hopefully it’s at least another three week to the next one, haha!!Derby would have stung a lot of people and it was a surprise to see low scoring affairs in Holland

Sticking close closer to home today and focusing on the Scottish card

    Forfar v Elgin

It’s two Ex st Johnstone stars at the helm as they two meet at Station Park! Jim Weir has done a terrific job at Elgin, narrowly missing out on promotion last season and have started brightly again in this campaign! One thing that will need addressed is their away form! Almost every away game for them is a treck and if it hadn’t been for their poor away form they would have got promoted! Forfar have adapted wel to life in League 2 and bar a hammering against Dundee, they’ve been terrific! They have managed to keep Talisman Gavin Swankie and Gary Bollan certainly has got them playing like title winners! Should be a cracking game but taking Forfar to maintain their 100% start to the season!

    Back Forfar 1/1 (Betway) (NAP)

Three matches I’m taking there to be goals in

    Celtic v Aberdeen
    Hibs v Morton
    Stenhousmuir v Airdrie

    Over 2.5 goals treble 3/1

Newcastle entertain Brighton in the time time kick off – will be on the usual late goal to be scored

    Hull vs Man Utd

I can say it feels good being confident backing my own team as i havn’t felt that way for years!! Hull have had a great start and with Mikd Phelan in charge they have somebody that knows Man Utd very well. I think we will have too much fire power for them so following bets to consider

    Zlatan AGS 19/20
Highest scoring half – 2nd half EVENS
Man Utd win and BTTS 11/4
Man Utd over 1.5 team goals 13/20
Man Utd race to 2 goals 8/11
Pogba to be shown a card 5/1

    • hampy 8 years ago

i think zlatan to score anytime and united 1.5 team goals may be heavily backed for the forseeable future nate. good luck bud am on just the 2 ive mentioned dont want to get too carried away with us just yet

    • nate pesh 8 years ago

Yeah I hear that hampy it is early days yet and mourinho will still have a lot to do but lets hope we put a few goals past Hull today with Zlatan getting on the score sheet in the process!!

    I’m on Bradford 01.5mg and MKD / Peterborough BTTS @2.19 (2 pts)
    Bradford o2.5mgs and MKD BTTS & overs @4.39 (1pt)

Both have come in in the last two matches for Bradford and Peterborough. Whilst Odlham are goal shy, Bradford clicked last weekend at Valley Parade against Coventry and I expect the momentum to be carried into this afternoon. MKD have scored in both home matches, Peterborough have scored in both away matches, and only 1 match has not seen BTTS for them this season.

    BREIDABLIK VS. STJARNAN (18.00 KO):

Great match-up here with both sides sitting even stevens in joint 3rd place with a g/d of +7 and 27 points apiece!

Two meetings already this year (January and May) with respective scorelines of 3-1 and 2-3 add flavour to both sides recent goals/BTTS records and I don’t think we’ll be seeing a 0-0.

In fact, if you’d backed BTTS & OVERS in the most recent 9 H2H’s stretching back over 3 seasons, you would have selected a winner 7 times out of 9.

Corners are worth noting here too and this is a log of both teams recent match corners with team totals denoted in brackets:

    BRIEDABLIK: 9 (3) – 13 (6) – 13 (3)
    STJARNAN: 10 (6) – 16 (12) – 15 (10)

    2 Selections:

    BTTS & OVERS…11/10

    BTTS & OVERS + OVER 10.5 CORNERS…2.39/1

    Good luck ?

Boyle, Shinnie and Holt could all have had hat-tricks, still hitting the woodwork, shots cleared off the line, shots being deflected wide.

Every game this season Hibernian have been so far ahead of their opponents that its actually quite embarrassing for Scotland’s second tier

    • nb89 8 years ago

Biggest budget by far, so it’s no real shock. Rangers hammered teams at the start of last season and ran out comfortable winners as expected.

Looking at the starting line ups from what I’ve seen of games is that there is a lack of width. Fyvie, McGinn, McGeouch, Bartley and Shinnie are all central midfielders.

I think Hibs will have it won by March but looks like Queen of the South will put up a fight similar to what Falkirk did last season.

    • Johnb 8 years ago

HIBS are playing far better than Rangers did last year, the league is only four games old and it’s over already,
We play a lot out wide as our wingbacks Gray and Stevenson are frightening,
In other formations Boyle and Keatings have easily played wide

Fyvie today was simply outstanding for his first game back from injury, best player on the pitch, Andrew Shinnie & Brian Graham our new signings are simply far too good for this league, i have never seen Hibs play this well and I’m 46, Tony Mowbury had us playing well but this squad is different class, not one player played bad today although Marciano had nothing to do in goals even Joe Hart could have kept a clean sheet today

There is already a 7 point gap between Hibs and fourth place and with Queen of the South and Raith in 2nd & 3rd they don’t have a squad strong enough to sustain a challenge

I can still see another two signings hopefully Tom Hateley for cover on the right and then one of Liam Henderson or Gary Makay-Steven

  57. nate pesh 8 years ago

Nani making his debut for Valencia and is always a goal threat u can get him AGS & 12/5

But I like Mina at the same price!! Mins AGS 12/5

  58. HullShaker 8 years ago

    Well done all winners?

Sometimes it pays dividends to change betting tactics and sometimes it doesn’t!

I went for the Darlington win and h/cap bets with no team goal markets available and it all went horribly wrong.

In my defense, I also posted Darlington Over 1.5 and 2.5 team goals which steamed in at the end and I know some managed to get prices so well done if you backed the latter and not the former ?

  59. GregBrowning 8 years ago

JohnB, good result for Hibs but is there really any need to clog the thread up with posts about the match and how much Hibs are “hammering” teams?

We all know your a Hibs fan but the reality is Hibs are a championship team and nobody really cares if they are hammering outfits like Morton 4-0

I’m not having a go at your tips, I’d rather not have to read through though a dozen posts about Hibs games that’s all

    Cheers ??

Also when I knew there would be decent time added on I put up 3 goalkicks between 85 and full time. 23/10. Another one for your serious consideration. Well done all winners today.

The Night Owl sees me heading over to Ecuador’s Primera A Division for a match between 2 teams that haven’t got off to the best of starts…

RIVER PLATE VS. AUCAS (22.00 KO):

River Plate head into this one favourites and I make it that this will be Aucus’ 5th game in 16 days as opposed to RP’s 3 which could well have a bearing on proceedings.

Each of the team’s opening 4 games haven’t been littered with goals but the Ecuadorean top-flight is a good one for goals and you need only look at historical match goal counts for both…I can’t be arsed posting them!

I can, however, be arsed to post the H2H overview: 9 games in just over 2 years with the biggest headline being for me being only 1 of those games didn’t make it Over 2.5 match goals!

5 of those most recent H2H’s also saw ‘4 or more’ which leads me to 2 selections:

    OVER 2.5 MGS…EVENS (365)

    OVER 3.5 MGS…12/5 (CORAL)

    Good luck ?
