I CAN'T believe it's Friday already. It always seems to sneak up and give me a surprise.

That means my focus today will be on my Saturday tips and Daily Record weekend column – but I've managed to put up two tips.
The only games I've looked at seriously are Kilmarnock v Rangers and Bayern Munich v Werder Bremen. I've posted a separate preview on the Scottish match and can't see past the Ibrox men.
New Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti is under pressure to make it a record fifth title in a row and complete the work done by Pep Guardiola.

Bayern have won seven in a row at home to Werder, scoring 30 goals. They are 1-8 at McBookie to win and it's short so consider Bayern and over 2.5 goals at 4-11 with Paddy Power.

In the Championship there looks a good match between Nigel Clough's Burton and Derby and hopefully County fan nathan will put up his thoughts.
Real Betis face Deportivo and Espanyol tackle Malaga in La Liga and I don't fancy struggling Marseille at home to Lorient in French Ligue 1.
Elsewhere there is the Jupiler league to look at for goals and watch out for tips on these games. On Monday all went over 1.5 goals while I was one goal short on my treble.
Last night I posted two trebles on the Europa League and felt slightly robbed. West Ham beat the Top Treble after missing loads of chances against Astra.
All my teams scored in the goals but the one I took for overs finished 1-1 at Brondby so I was cursing my pick there.
For a Super Single it's nothing fancy – a double on Rangers and Dundalk at Wexford. Dundalk have lost their last two league games while focusing on the Champions League qualifiers.
That's over now and while they may be slightly fatigued by the effort they put in against Legia Warsaw in Poland they have to get back on track with Derry and Cork closing in on top spot. Stephen Kenny has spent some of his Champions League bounty by persuading ex-Rangers striker Kenny Shiels to sign up and if he starts I'd consider him to score.
I've added a Dutch treble – a mixture of goals and one win and I've included Greg's nap with Vitesse-Utrecht looking good for goals.

    Why not

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

I see Dundalk have signed Dean Shiels who I always thought looked decent at Rangers.
Bound to score a few in the League of Ireland.

    • the notorious 8 years ago

Shiels is 31 now, im not sure how my much he has left but still might chip in with a few.

  8. the notorious 8 years ago

Anyone picking Dundalk for acca’s need to know they have lost their last 2 games in the league (3 including Europe) Still it would be surprising if they cannot beat Wexford youths, a team second from bottom and conceded 47 goals in 24 games.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

They were distracted by Champions League qualifiers – should be OK now.

    • the notorious 8 years ago

Are you contemplating selecting them Mr f? I know you like to pick Dundalk a bit.

Don’t know – as I said too busy with Saturday’s card.
      Will look at Friday sometime.

Saprissa just kicking off now playing an almost identical side who won 6-0 in the reverse fixture. Unaware of the pitch condition but Saprissa should be good for a couple. Over 1.5 @ 1/2 and 2.5 @ 6/4. Both @ 365.

Nothing but a convincing Bayern win for me tonight.

  11. maxxxx 8 years ago

Good morning one and all, it is your main man Max here, with you’re Saturdays tips. Man City weren’t my friends in midweek but I hope the red side of the city are. I haven’t posted any tips in the past few days and there wont be any from me on tonight’s games. It is important to me that discipline is key, you don’t have to bet everyday and I think my followers appreciate that. I have commitments to fulfil over the next 24-36hrs so may not have time to dedicate to researching the 3pm games.

I do however, as my followers know and regulars on here, Man Utd are my go to team. I have landed NAP’s and NB’s in all 3 united games this season including the community shield, and have tipped Man Utd to win (1/2 Various) Zlatan to score (21/20 Stan James) and UTD O1.5tg (7/10 Coral) in all 3 games so why should I go against them tonight?

Hull have started the season so well, but I still expect them to be relegated. I don’t apologise for the same 3 tips on this game that have landed in all 3 United games this season and I am sure my followers cant wait for 5:30pm after avoiding the minefield of the 3pm kick offs. (Small stakes if your punting on these games)

Man Utd to Beat Hull 1/2 NAP (20PTS)
    Man Utd O1.5g 7/10 NB (10PTS)
    Ibrahimovic to score 21/20 (5PTS)

These tips have landed in all 3 games so far this season and I have tipped them in everyone of those. I wonder can I make it 4 in full houses in a row with Man Utd games? If I do I know plenty of you will be rich and it will be a happy site!

Its not like I watch Utd and hope they score and win. Its all insurance. I just collect after each game. If they slip up I can have a laugh with the mates and enjoy the highlights and Morhinhos face but unfortunately thats not gonna happen too often this season.

  12. philwindy 8 years ago

    Good morning all,

Real Betis take on Deportivo in the la liga.

The history of between these to teams speaks for it’s self. BTTS has come up in the last 5 meetings. so this is the standout bet. @1.95 BET365

Gustavo Poyet’s Real betis team got hammered by Barca in their opening game 6-2. I am impressed with the fact they scored let alone got 2!!!

Veteran striker Castro at the ripe age of 35 netted both :-) He is only 15 goals away from breaking a club record held by Poli Rincon. Being 35 he will need to start banging them in.
Poyet has also invested 19 Euro’s in new players through the summer.

Deportivo have sold their man man Lucas Perez to Arsenal and will not be travelling with the squad this is a major minus for Deportivo. 17 goals in 36 games last season. Not bad going for a dirty average team. Be interesting to see what he can do in the Premier league.

With all the transer talk going on at Deportivo, i am willing to back Real betis to win and a little wager on Castro to score.

    Real Betis Win @2.20
    Castro @2.40 AGS @5.00 Fgs

Deportivo have a good away record here so small stakes if you choose to follow.

Morning gents decided to give the Europa league a miss last night and based on the results I think it was the right call

It’s now thee weeks since Newcastle kicked off the season and on the whip it’s been a pretty decent start for punters -‘long may that continue

    Burton v Derby KO 7.45pm

The hosts were destroyed during the week by a rampant Liverpool side and tonight welcome a derby side who have a disappointing start to the season! Two draws and win and a defeat, worryingly they’ve scored just once! In fairness though the have had an extremely tough start to the season having to play fellow promotion hopefuls Brighton and Villa whilst trips to Barnsley and Preston are always tough! There’s no denying Derby have a superioir squad and given this on paper is their easy fixture of the season I’m taking them to edge this! Brighton, Villa and Preston have all failed to breach the Derby defence and that should bode well here!

Back Derby to Win 13/10 (Boyle) (NAP)

Derby to score before 54 mins 5/6

Will post some French and Dutch games later

  16. saddler78 8 years ago

Going to try and make a contribution to this great site so here goes
    Bochum v Hannover Bundesliga 2

Hannover have flew out the blocks this season scoring 3 and 4 goals in their first two league games. Manager Daniel Stendel in his first full season will be expected to get them back in to Bundesliga 1 at the first time of asking and they have made the perfect start. Looks like goals can come from midfield as well as the forward line. Bochum have started the league season unbeaten but Hannover should have too much fire power for them tonight.

    Hannover win 17/10
    Hannover O 1.5 TG 6/5

    Dutch Jupiler League

Sam Lammers (Jong PSV) anytime goalscorer @ 1.98 with 888 / Unibet

Jong PSV play one of the worst sides in the league tonight, the younsters of FC Utrecht. 19 year old Sam Lammers is the topscorer in the league with 6 goals in 4 games. He started scoring at the under 19 championship this summer with the Dutch team and put 4 past my team Den Bosch in the first game of the season. Jong FC Utrecht have conceded 11 in 4 games and I think Lammers can score tonight. He started all games and only got substituted once, after scoring those 4 goals.

Another wee look sticking a tenner on NAC and PSV to score 2+ tonight at EVENS+, looks a gimme to me so will use that for tomorrow…

Also Paddy Power are doing a free £5 bet everytime your player wins a match in the US Open, you can do £12.50 EW too and I’ve stuck Djokovic EW at EVENS. Might say it’s not worth going EW for an Evens shot but remember in tennis it’s 1/2 the odds for the final so only losing out on £6.25 if he wins but just can’t see him not making the final. If he plays the 1st round and wins it’ll be 7* free bets and £18.75 profit. Great offer imo

I am a sucker for late k.o South America games so for this one I went Deportes Ht/Ft win, straight win, score in both halves, win both halves, +1.5 team goals and +2.5 team goals.

Obviously a worry with the red card for second half. Cover on draw available at 4/1.

Perhaps have a look at the 1.30am ko game in Ecuador as it is almost a mirror image situation as to the Chile game. I am on away team at 9/2 with similar bets to those above.

    • southboy 8 years ago

I hope Deportes stay strong for you bud and see the game out for you. With the Ecuador game mate my picks would more than likely be Emelec & BTTS @5/2 and over 2.5gls at 17/20 just got this strange feeling Emelec will be too strong and away side will only grab the 1 goal. Best of luck though.

    5.30 Bochum v Hannover 96.
    Over 2.5 mgs 8/11.
    Hannover 96 over 1.5 TGS 6/5.
    Hannover 96 over 2.5 TGS 4/1.
Sobiech to score any time 15/8.

Summary: There’s no denying Hannover have been amongst the goals since Stendel took over at the helm in April ! His tenure coincides with the flow of goals his team have scored on their travels, 9 in 4 league games. As for cup and friendlies have a look for yourself! They’ve invested wisely since relegation, and look well capable of pushing for a quick return to top flight football. As for their opponents, well the one big stand out is undoubtedly the selling of Terodde! Time will tell if they manage to fill his boots. The tail end of last season saw on home soil, 6 out of the last 7 games go over 2.5, and 13 out of 15 teams net against them!

    Champions League Anteposts

    Group Stage:

    Dortmund/Real Madrid
    Atletico Madrid/Bayern Munich

Dual Forecast Double @ 47/50 (Skybet)

Probably a little early to be getting on these but I always like to have a look at the group betting once the draw is made. Getting on group outcome bets early is the best chance for moderate value, which I think is the case in the dual forecast double. It’s safe to say that if PSV or Rostov were to qualify ahead of either Atletico or Bayern, we would be witnessing one hell of shock (just as would be the case in Group F should Legia or Sporting prevent Dortmund and Real from qualifying). Therefore, at nearly evens, I think that double represents decent value and was a good enough price for me to jump on.

    Dortmund
    Porto

To Qualify Double @ 77/100 (Skybet)

As above, I really fancy Dortmund to get out of this group with a lot to spare, which is why their price to qualify seems a touch generous. I’ve teamed it up with Porto to get out of a relatively open group. Leicester have a great chance to qualify, but I think the European experience Porto have is more reliable a bet. They should at least be too strong for Brugge and Copenhagen across 6 games.

    Kilmarnock v a Rangers

It’s hard too make any predictions on the game without seeing Rangers team news. If the midfield 3 is Barton, Rossiter and Halliday then I don’t expect too many goals however if Holt, Kranjcar or Forrester play in the 3 there will be a lot more creativity. I think we’ll win and if he plays any part I can see Garner scoring. It’s important for us too win tonight and we will be back by an 8000+ away support.

    My tips are
    Garner anytime 11/10
Rangers over 2.5 team goals 6/4

    Both Bet 365

As mentioned previously Miller is 1 away from 100 Rangers goals and his first 16 years ago was at Rugby Park. I personally hope he breaks it in 2 weeks at Parkhead.

  50. theresa higgins 8 years ago

I think Rangers – 1 could be risky as they have scraped their last three results.

  53. HullShaker 8 years ago

Saprissa’s surprise overnight bore -draw brought an early end to my treble so another effort needed:

Like many, I’m looking for Dutch goals but tipping my 4-fold off with something a little closer to home…

    VITTESS…BTTS & OVERS
    NAC BREDA… BTTS & OVERS
    D GRAAFSCHAP…BTTS & OVERS
    RAMMY UTD…BTTS

    Pays a touch over 8/1

Also fancying a few goals in Rammy’s 3rd league game – so far each of their 4 games (2 league/1 cup/1 friendly) have seen both teams scoring with 4,4,3 and 3 mgs.

Two selections and both low stakes:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…11/10

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…13/2

    Best of luck ?

    Danish Superliga 17.00

    Randers FC v Silkeborg

4th vs bottom of the league and worst defence / attack in the league – Silkeborg are leaking goals like a sieve and struggling to find the net themselves. Randers are in 4th and unbeaten in their last 4 matches.

Take Randers to win and Under 3.5 goals @ 2.1 (Betfair)

    or for the brave…

    Randers & under 2.5 @ 3.4

    Derby team news/thoughts

    Carson
    Christie/Keogh/Shackell/Olsen
    Hughes/Bryson
    Ince/Butterfield/Russell
    Martin

Olsen at left back replaces Forsyth, the rest of the team is quite solid. Great to see the boss has had a go at shape change with 2 holding midfielders, but I think the above is mainly a 4-5-1.

Burton have 3 central defenders, wingbacks, 3 midfielders and 2 up front. 3-2-3-2. ( that’s the formation that Derby have not tried but I’d like tom see tried ).

After starting the ball rolling with his first stint at Burton that lasted 10 years, Nigel Clough left them on the brink of English football league for the first time in their history. He then came to Derby, stopped us from freefalling and made us competitive. Sadly that bromance never lasted long enough, and Clough has found his way back to Burton to finish the job he started. Last season, he got them into the championship. I couldn’t be more thrilled for him.
This match is new territory for me, and Yes, we’ve played each-other lots of time and Derby usually get the better of them – BUT, we’ve never played each-other in a competitive match.

A little surprise thrown in by Burton, they have former Derby captain Shaun Barker on the bench. His first football action since his career wrecking injury at Forest.
This game is a local Derby, BUT it’s not got the history that Forest/Leicester has, its different somehow. I want both teams to do well, but need to see Derby roll their sleeves up and get moving.

Burton I think have slightly more self belief and I really do think that for the first time in any league match for the rams, this match will go over 2.5 tmg’s. I am marginally confident that it will fall in Derby’s favour too.

The Derby win pays 11/10, the over 2.5 tmg’s pays 5/4 both with bet365.

Bothe teams have been well rested from the last league match and I think tonights match should have the makings of a great game for the neutrals as-well. Good luck with your bets folks.

  77. garry 8 years ago

    Mexico Apertura (3:00 AM)
    Tijuana v Unam Pumas

    Pick
    ➡Over 2.5 & Yes @ 2.00

Tijauna have had a very good start to the season and unbeaten in last 5 games. They have played 6 games so far and have scored in every game. Scored 2+ in first 5 games as well. They are sitting on top of the league and also boast a top scorer Dayro Moreno, who has scored 7 of their total 13 goals this season. They meet Unam Pumas side who are on a roll as well. Like Tijuana they have also lost only 1 game so far. Pumas have good record against Tijuana and they beat them twice last season with scorelines of 3-1 & 2-1. Pumas beat Monterrey 5-3 in their last game who were one of top consistent sides in Mexico last season. For me, Everything points towards goals and bookies know it as well. BTTS is priced short so I’m taking Over 2.5 & BTTS for this one. ?
