RESULTS were so good for punters last weekend I saw one bookie in the car dealers down the road trading in his Ferrari for a Fiat.

Let's hope he's not back in tonight doing the deal in reverse. Today's card doesn't look as kind as last Saturday's with Hearts and Swansea the standout teams for me.

As usual play with level stakes which means if you're going to hand back profits you'll do it slowly.

On Friday I had two winners. One Super Single came in at 3-1 with a red card in the Morton-St Mirren derby but the second crashed possibly due to Sevilla having a man sent off as they were held 0-0 at Malaga.

The Top Treble also won at 3-1 thanks to PSG, Derry and Birmingham not to lose.

These are my tips from today's Daily Record including long shots with no staking advice apart from make it small and fun.

Reasoning for most of the teams will be on the separate preview posts and remember to check out Greg Browning's tips and those from the boys at We Love Betting.

Mr F, what do you think about Burton Albion winning at home?

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Marquis, I’ve put up my tips and Burton are not featured although I’d expect them to win.

  6. Oggy 9 years ago

There are some great bets in the Premier league for me tomorrow. Firstly Tottenham look great odds at Leicester. The home team have doubtless had a great start to the season but I just feel that the honeymoon will end tomorrow. Tottenham will be top six come the season end and after a horrible game in Manchester and letting a 2 goal lead slip to Stoke last outing they will be desperate for maximum points here. I can see both teams scoring though so something like 1-2 seems likely.
I’m also a big fan of Stoke as a progressive club and I’d make them favourites to beat new boys Norwich away. The game they lost to Liverpool hung in the balance before Coutinho’s strike and they battled back well to draw with Tottenham last week after showing too little ambition in the first period. I’m sure they won’t make the same mistake twice and could well have Shaqiri and Bojan featuring tomorrow. They need to register 3 points soon if the season is going to live up to expectations.
Swansea also look good value at the disaster that is Sunderland currently. They seem to have picked up where they left last season and barring a turnaround from the home team it is hard to see past a Swansea victory.
I’ve got Swansea, Tottenham DNB, Stoke DNB. A more speculative Swansea and over 1.5, Tottenham, Stoke. Tottenham BTTS and the 1-2 for fun.

Sheffield United over 1.5 Team Goals

    3/5 (Ladbrokes)

Not the greatest odds in the world but the state Blackpool are in can’t really see United not score a couple here. Could be used as part of a double but I’m just taking the single

  9. Sean Ireland 9 years ago

Expected to see Wycombe in your homes Mr F,any particular reason why you over looked them or was it just a case of you already having enough in that section?

  10. Greg Browning 9 years ago

    Evening gents

    Kilmarnock v Ross County

Gary Locke would have been feeling the pressure a few weeks ago but his team have given him a bit of breathing space! Consecutive 2-2 draws has shown Killie can find the net and, the problem is they have scored 2 goals in every match this season! They welcome a county side who have had a decent start to the season and look as if they will have enough about them to stay up again! The last 7 meetings between these sides have seen over 2.5 goals, going for that run to continue with Kilmarnock finding their scoring boots but likely to conceed

Back over 2.5 matxh gosls 19/20

    East Fife v Elgin

I’ve been a big fan of Elgin this season and have posted them with joy a few times already l! They beat Alloa 2-0 after ET in the challenge cup on Tuesday which was a fantastic result given two leagues separated the sides! East Fife are a solid outfit at Bayvlew and dont lose many, they have the upper hand in fixtures against Elgin and are unbeaten 8 previous meetings! I think they’ll edge this!

    Back East Fife 11/10

    Other picks

QPR v Rotherham – over 1.5 QPR team goals 4/5
Carlise v AFC Wimbledon – over 2.5 matxh goals 19/20

I mentioned it straight after our game last week but Swansea at above evens looks a fantastic bet. If we had been playing them last week and not Norwich I have no doubt we’d have conceded 6 or 7.

The only chance we have tomorrow is looking to defend for our lives and hope to steal one on the counter. The longer we can hold them out the more of a chance we’ll have but I think they have far to much quality in attacking areas for our back line and once they get the first it will be a question of how many. Hope I’m wrong!

Knowing my luck they’ll score twice like a few wanted Thursday morning, but missing their key playmaker Feilhaber will be a tough ask against the leading assist to goal combination in the MLS with Finlay and Kamara for Columbus. Their front four pose a huge threat to any side and are perhaps up there for the best attack in the league when you take away the stars from LA Galaxy.

    Evening Guys, Saturday bets

A big card to look at but I am looking to follow up Sheffield United and Plymouth with super singles and I got it down to three teams I have gone for QPR. I know they blew it late on last Saturday but they have got goals in them with Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips. They are 3/4 various.

My goal scorers I’m staring with Charlie Austin. He as scored in his last 2 games and despite transfer rumours he is a premier league goal scorer. I fancy QPR and Austin could be on the score sheet. He is 13/10 Coral.

Morecombe have lost 3-0 on their two previous visits to Portsmouth and one of my favourite scorers in this league could help himself to a goal like he did last week. I will again be on Matt Tubbs at 5/4 various. He owes me one after missing a one on one in midweek.

My next selection is John Akinde for Barnet. The big man scored 33 in 48 goals in the conference last season and has stepped up this season scoring 3 in 4. He is worth a small stakes at 3/1 at Paddy Power.

My final selection is someone I believe may do what Akinde did last season. I almost put him up in midweek but I didn’t and he scored. The player is Omar Bogle. Grimsby have scored 4 goals in both their home games this season, while Torquay have conceded 6 in their last 3 games. I think Bogle may become one of my regular scorers this season like Griezmann and Bacca in previous seasons. He is 11/8 Bet365.

In mid week only 2 firms had conference anytime scorers priced up. As always check the teams news before parting with your cash.

    Last night re e post

Some fine games on tomorrow and some surprising odds to be had, especially in the 3pm KO between the blackcats and swans

My fam was going on about Swansea this and Swansea that, and he aint even Welsh. I agree with the few on here who have already mentioned it, Swansea should win (23/20 matchbook). I checked to see if Swansea were sending out the under 10′s and when I realised they weren’t, I saw pound signs in my eyes.

Sunderland are season favourites to go down and given latest results, I’d still go with that after failing to get anything from their opening two matches against clubs of their calibre. 7 conceded goals in 2 games means that defence needs a back hand and its unlikely that would see changes overnight.

The Swans are in fine form, 4 points from 6 and scoring a double in both their games, most noticeably at the Bridge where it finished 2-2 courtesy of a Gomis penalty. Speaking of which, Gomis and Ayew have scored in both their games so far and each are available 5/4 anytime or 5/1 first goalscorer (Co.ral). Scrumptious odds to say the least against a club with the worst defensive record so far.

Ki is likely to be back from injury for the visitors, but bench warming if he does, and I wouldnt be surprised if the young Monk kept the same team that beat Newcastle 2-0 last week.

Mr Advocaat is still without Adam Johnson, but O’Shea should replace Coates in defence after Norwich rang rings round him in the 3-1 “shock” loss. Even so, I feel Swansea will add the to the hosts woes being all confident and puffing out their chests and stuff.

Mr f, I was at the Bohemians v Bray fai cup game last night and witnessed the most appalling decision ever. The goalkeeper was adjudged to have caught the ball behind his goal line he clearly caught it before then.
It was such poor decision even the Bray players were shocked when the goal was awarded. Now, refereeing in Ireland over the last few years has always been of relatively mediocre standard and decisions like last nights do no favors at all for league of Ireland.
Such a shame for Bohs to go out in that fashion as they dominated the second half.

  67. HullShaker 9 years ago

    Morning gents,

Some tasty looking tips on here today and will be putting a combo together from this and Greg’s thread…cheers!

My fancy for today will be taken from the mighty Shakers game away to Crewe.

We can score but seem incapable of a clean sheet…4-3 loss midweek and a couple of mistakes from our young keeper Walton showed this against a Fleetwood team we should be beating.

Crewe themselves have been in the mix for goals and have the same dilemma losing 3-2 midweek.

All things point to BTTS at 8/11 and BTTS and Over 2.5 match goals has massive appeal at 6/5.

Quote from Bury manager Flitcroft won’t put you off either:

“As the season progresses, I don’t think goals will be a problem to come by. We’re creating chance after chance and have been a real force going forward.

“But as we’ve been a force going forward it’s left us a bit exposed at the back so I need to get that protection back and the structure of the team back to where it was last season.”

Agree with you Hampy on Leon Clarke – on fire at the moment and looks good for goals…anytime goalscorer at 7/5 or 15/2 for a brace.

Good luck if you have a go and with all bets today.

putting this up now as can see prices shortening in coming days

    *treble*

    today: Burton @ 6/5
Leeds @ 13/8 EARLY KICK OFF
    Hartlepool @ 13/5

    £25 returns £519.75

may shorten in price before kick off i believe and usually do, taking a chance on leeds as early kick off but fancy them to do the business and clean up their act after throwing away a 2-0 lead midweek. Yorkshire derby and will want to make amends.

Burton and hartlepool both had amazinf starts to season and at these prices i just really cant resist the value espeically Jeffs Hartlepool ;)

Bit of interest but follow if you wish, i know some do :)

Best of luck to all and especially mark, linfieldsaces sean ireland and mickybelfast etc

Was only a Dundee utd goal short last week

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ian, watching Dundee Utd v Celtic and they could beat you again although they had a strong claim for a penalty after a foul by Bailly.
9 changes but all Celtic and should be at least three goals ahead.
2-0 now but United have the pen they should have got earlier.
      That’s what Ambrose brings though.

  87. Dazzler 9 years ago

Short and sweet today. H2H results have thrown up every type of result, so going to go on form. Barnsley great start, Bradford poor. Barnsley likely to win and DNB is worth a shout @1.83. Neither Colback or Taylor got booked. Colback didn’t get booked because he was never within 5 yards of a United player in possession and Taylor didn’t get booked because he was making Rooney, who was awful again. No idea why lgv is leaving Young in the bench.

    Gomissssssssssssssssssssss

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Nick, just back from my game. Mixed results so far – as I’ve put 4pts on Swansea for the Super Single I’m advising 1pt on the draw at 4-1 with bet365.
Of course that doesn’t cover a Sunderland win but can’t see that to be honest.
Top Treble up at moment but Swansea and Hearts only winning by one. If either of them score again we can look at cover.

  116. Pablpower 9 years ago

  118. Nick 9 years ago

If somebody has advice it would be great…

Time for a rant, because this is a shambles.

Man utd vs Newcastle. No Tim Krul isnt that good. He’s already conceded 2 against Swansea and Southampton and then a clean sheet at OT? Do one, its the opposition that were useless.

Van Gaal needs to change his attitude, get out the dugout and get animated instead of sitting there all nice and warm. That seat is there when Utd are 5-0 up. Why does he still think hes managing Munich or Barca? Mourinho and Wenger need restraining orders to get off the pitch and this guys acting like hes already won the league. a couple of 1-0’s and a 0-0? Bring Moyes back if the club wants those sort of results, atleast he wouldnt suck the clubs finances at the same time. Even bring Fergie back from the top stand, guaranteed each player would have the match ball blasted at their faces at half time. Instead, their punishment now is being dropped.

Someone let shrek know the season has already started.

Van Gaal happy to drop anyone that doesnt perform. Well get a striker because ol’ wazza thinks hes earned his wages. On the flip side, Januzaj scores one goal and hes in the centre of midfield? Come off it.

Or how about declare the clubs interested in Pedro so Chelsea can get him. Maybe Otamendi so City can nab him. **** happened to Hummels? Content to play in the Europa league with Dortmund. Says it all. Mans a clown with his transfer antics, along with Woodward. The latest is Muller, think Arsenal need a striker….

Anyhow he brings in a last minute Balotelli-esque signing and I’m gonna make my shirt the worlds most expensive bog roll.

His saving grace was putting out an almost decent team, anyhow he had youngsters playing because hes afraid of Club Brugge, he’s clearly at the wrong club, even more so.

The team needs to gel is his usual excuse, well someone forgot to tell that to Andre Ayew, Bakary Sako, even Callum Wilson gets a hat trick this afternoon on day 2 of his premiership debut. Aguero adapted from the off, Costa the same, Torres at pool.

Manager needs time is another poor excuse. When you’ve managed world class clubs in your time, you’d know what to do and how to do it along with man management. It works for me when I play Football manager.

Till this waste man gets big boy results at this waste gash expensive team he’s help assemble, I’d refrain from putting a penny on them down.

mr fixit i think you’d bet on two drops falling down a window i think your stats show this it seems to be 1 step forward and 2 steps back…..in my opinion you would clean up picking just one bet per day and use alot more than 1pt on the selection…i know i will get stick here for voicing my opinion but from what i see of your stats its shockingly low for such a well known tipster

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

shelly, most days I put up 1 or 2 bets – on Saturday I put up my newspaper tips and you don’t have to do them.
Last week though they provided a big profit.
The Super Single and accas are still in profit for the month and if Swansea had won both figures would be much better.
There are fine margins in football betting and today one Swansea goal short was all the difference.
However, the 6pts lost today have been won back betting on the left drop to beat the right drop.

Mr Fixit, I think you need about if the super single lose, it will let your top treble down as well better to stick with another team in the top treble and take more chances anyway that’s my personal views.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

captain, as I said I look at it differently. I can’t leave out a team simply because they’re on another line.

    Some thoughts on later games

    Chile Primera Division

    O’Higgins vs Santiago Wanderers 9:30pm

O’Higgins last 6 games at home have all seen btts and over 2.5ftg come in and 11 of their last 12 in all competitions have seen btts and over 2.5ftg come in.

9 of Santiago Wanderers’ last 10 away in all competitions have seen btts come in 12 of their last 14 games both home and away have also seen btts

Last 2 H2H have seen btts

    Btts @ 1.80

Also fancy over 3 goals in the Leon vs Guadalajara game at 2:06am at odds of 2.10 and over 3.5ftg in Puebla vs Pachuca game at odds of 3.00

On reflection I was just one goal short in the spurs game and Swansea game which would have made it an extremely good day.

Bank back to 75.735 and if Racing can hold on and Santos win later will increase to 84.083. I will take that considering the last 3 days have been brutal.

    Bochum v Nurnberg – k.o 12:30

Bochum have started the season very well winning all 4 competitive games scoring a huge 12 goals. They currently sit top of the league with a game in hand and inform striker Simon Terrodde is the one to thank due to his 6 goals in 4 games. (5/4 shot to score anytime with bet365).

My selection for today is – Bochum over 1.5 goals 5/6 Bet365

Their opposition Nurnberg sit 10th and have had an ok start to the season but are leaking way to many goals, 10 goals in 4 games is not great heading into a game with Bochum who are very strong in their attack.

The current Bochum manager Verbeek is the ex Nurnberg manager from last season so he knows what sort of style and quality his former players will bring. I’m expecting goals in this one as both teams are very strong going forward but Nurnberg lack the quality in defence.
