STILL cursing Nottingham Forest after a tough day that ended with a decent profit.

After a ding-dong battle with Wigan the home men fired a last-gasp winner to end my hopes of four draws at 137-1.
It didn't seem too bad at the time as I was waiting on stalemates at Leicester and Derby in the late games and that's exactly what happened.
Three draws at 35-1 was enough to give me profit for the day with the Super Single winning thanks to a last-minute consolation from East Fife at Alloa.
I said the card was tough and that was proved. Greg landed his Nap thanks to a nice and simple Celtic/Rangers double at 11-10 but QPR didn't give him a late goal or in fact any goal for Jordan. And there was no joy for Desmond or Scott Allot.
My Bet of the Day for members only won for six in a row but Betting Bank and Challenge tips lost.
On Sunday there are three English games that look tough to call – Sunderland v Middlesbrough, West Ham v Bournemouth and Ipswich v Norwich in the Championship. Interestingly Norwich boss Alex Neil has never lost an away game in the Championship at 12 attempts and this could be a draw.
After Serie A wins for Roma and Juventus on Saturday night there are eight more matches and Real Madrid, without Cristiano Ronaldo, will be keen to start with a win at Real Sociedad after seeing Barcelona hit Sevilla for six.
I've had a good at the card and there's not much that stands out today but I'm starting with a both to score treble that is totally stats related so let's hope the matches live up to their billing.
For the Super Single I'm starting with Sociedad draw no bet against Real having checked team news. If you're ever going to beat Real this must be your best chance as the visitors line up without the likes of Ronaldo, Pepe, Benzema, Modric and Navas. Alvaro Morata is likely to start on his return to the club and Gareth Bale will need to put in a big performance.
Much depends on how Sociedad will perform and it's a risky one but with the stars Madrid are missing I'm chancing 1pt on the bet.
It's a low-stakes day for me but for the Top Treble let's go PSG -1 at home to Metz and they don't look to have been hit too badly by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's exit.
The same can't be said for Marseille who looked powderpuff last week in a 0-0 draw against Toulouse without Michy Batshuayi who netted for Chelsea at Watford yesterday. Take Guingamp not to lose at home to Marseille.
Complete the treble with Sassuolo not to lose at Palermo. Sassuolo have warmed up nicely with Europa League wins and should be readier to go than their hosts but let's keep the draw on side.

So Barcelona agree a deal with Man City on keeper Claudio Bravo. Im amazed with all the publicity its attracted, when we see the cock ups from Hart last in the premier league and for England in the Euro’s. Im pretty sure Guardialo took note of this when deciding to drop Hart.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Main reason he’s going is because Guardiola wants a sweeper keeper.
Same way as Brendan Rodgers has put Gordon under pressure by signing De Vries – who he says plays the ball out the way he wants.

    • snowster 8 years ago

After watching the barca keeper push in a free kick last night I’m not sure it’ll be much of an improvement if any. City look like they will keep few clean sheets this season so he will be plenty busy. As for sweeper keeper, the new boy is 33 so let’s see if he can ‘get there’ in time in the prem league

MAIN BET- AGF v BRONDBY over 2.5 mgs 3/4.
SMALL STAKES- BRONDBY over 1.5 TGS 11/10.
SMALL STAKES- PUKKI to score anytime 13/10.

SUMMARY: Riddersholm appears to have found some consistentcy with his team on home soil, and 5 of their last 6 games have gone over 2.5. Visitors BRONDBY are scoring and conceding goals for fun, their last outing ended in a thrilling 3-3! PUKKI goal scoring feats are well documented .

MAIN BET- FC LUZERN v THUN btts and over 2.5 mgs 20/21.
SMALL STAKES- LUZERN over 2.5 TGS 13/8.

SUMMARY: LUZERN form since last March has been fantastic , scoring 27 goals in last 9 games on home soil! Their opponents Thun in their two away games to new campaign have conceded 8, but managed to net 5! ( 4 of those coming against newly promoted L. Sports) Hopeful of seeing both teams contributing to goals required!

Unlucky with the 4 draws Mr F – 35/1 for the treble not to be sniffed at! Profits totals looks very healthy ??

Have had a good look through Sunday’s card and have picked out three teams I fancy to score

    Ipswich v Norwich KO 7pm

Derby time and it’s certainly a fixture Norwich have enjoyed in recent years they’ve won 5 of the last 6 meetings and play an Ipswich side who have had a torrid stat to the season! Norwich still have quality in their ranks and I’m taking that to show

Norwich to score before 54 mins 5/6 (Bet365) ( NAP)

    Herecles v Feyenoord KO 3.45pm

The hosts don’t lose many at home and have found the net in 11 of their last 12 meetings with Feyenoord! They’ve had a decent start to the season and this looks like it has a good chance

Heracles to score before 65 mins 5/6

    Hammerby v Gothenborg

I highlighted a few weeks Gothenburgs awful form domestically after playing a Europa league and they don’t keep too many clean sheets on the road -taking Hammerby to continue that

Hammerby to score before 50 mins 5/6

    • petet 8 years ago

      @gregbrowning

Hope you’re right about the Norwich game. I’ve watched all the games this season so far and we do lack firepower up front – that’s my only concern. When Jerome was subbed last week we really lacked options. That, combined with the fact its a TV match (which we always struggle with) does worry me but we do have a good H2H record with Ipswich and hopefully we can leave Portaloo Road (sorry, Portman road) with 3 points and a goal before 54 mins.

KO is 12pm btw – not 7pm for anyone following the game.

      Good luck all.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Cheers, will put up your post now.

  4. solidarity82 8 years ago

Liverpool done me for £1195 on a 13 fold for a £1, then beat a btts + win for £ 1250 for a £5. Now that was a sore one.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

      That’s tough to take.

    • harrybaines 8 years ago

I am in a similar boat mate, i had a btts acca that was £1100 returns and Liverpool did me over. Shocking stuff

    • bixieupnorth 8 years ago

i was three goals short on a daft 14 fold over 2.5 coupon, burnely v liverpool and bristol city v newcastle, paid over 8,000/1, gutted as looks like there were loads of chances in both games!! it’ll come in one day, only £1.25 on so no great loss, just a shame i was out for once on a saturday afternoon, watching north ferriby beat my beoloved tufc! that cashout button would’ve been worth a few quid for sure!

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Morning Bixie – how was the game? Was there on Friday and going to try and catch a few games this season – cracking playing surface!

    • bixieupnorth 8 years ago

it was a great day out mate thanks, despite losing, tidy little ground, great pitch as you say, friendly home fans and smiling stewards! we had enough chances to win it comfortably, but a combination of bad luck, poor decisions and a MOTM display by their very very young looking keeper ensured a great week for north ferriby.

  5. HullShaker 8 years ago

Close call with the draws Mr F – 3 out of 4 for 35/1 not half bad though on a brutal day for most.

    Night Owl 1:

    SPORTING SAN JOSÉ VS. OSA

    BARRIO MÉXICO VS. CARIARI POCOCÍ

    OVER 2.5 MG DOUBLE… 1.85/1

    **WON**

    Night Owl 2:

A similar double but substituting the Over 2.5 MGS for BTTS…

    DEPORTES TOLIMA VS. JUNIOR

    PHILADELPHIA UNION VS. TORONTO

    BTTS DOUBLE PAYS…1.93/1

Good luck anyone else on the late ones ?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Happy to make any sort of profit today.
Didn’t like the card at all and struggled to pick out much.

    • mar 8 years ago

Still here….need to make up for a poor day after an amazing night yesterday.

    • mar 8 years ago

Dont see the Deportes game though :/

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Evening mar – Colombian game kicked off at 00.30.

Good news is Leg 1 is home and hosed on ’24 with both teams scoring in the MLS early doors ?

    • mar 8 years ago

Thought I replied to this @hullshaker appreciate anything coming off a terrible day. Thanks.

  6. mar 8 years ago

But a 10 on the first 4 penalties to go in for Brazil….just going by stats. But didnt want to make anyone lose anything. Didnt push my luck after the 4 :)

  7. HullShaker 8 years ago

One domestic game for me tomorrow and it’s a visit to the lower leagues with 2 teams who’ve had a decent start to their respective National League North campaigns…

GLOUCESTER CITY VS. DARLINGTON 1883 (15.00 KO):

Both teams got off to a home flier with 4-1 wins then followed up with away victories – Gloucester winning 2-3 at Worcester whilst Darlo grabbed 3 late points with a 1-2 win at Curzon Ashton.

Darlington 1883 have had a torrid time over the last decade or so and there’s a good, solid infastructure at the club which I think will see them do well again this year as they fight their way back towards League status.

With 2+ goals scored in 11 of their last 14 games, i’ll have to take that on again but a feeling that Gloucester will put up plenty of resistance brings the Btts market into play.

    Two selections:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…19/20

    DARLINGTON 1883…OVER 1.5 TGS…23/20

Best of luck with all bets ?

  8. GregBrowning 8 years ago

@petet as a fan you’ll know better than me mate, backing it more to do with Ipswichs poor start

And not sure why I typed 7pm could have sworn I typed 12pm, haha

    Enjoy the game fella ??

  9. maxxxx 8 years ago

Hey everyone its your main man Max here. I said it was a tough card yesterday and so it proved with QPR and Liverpool losing. I was going to tip on the Leicester against Arsenal game but the more I researched it, the less confidence I fancied goals and I was proved right. I gave a bit back to the bookies but as my followers know there is no worries as its been a great start to the new season. Super Sunday last week was profitable and I hope to land a few winners today.

I don’t fancy anything that warrants a NAP or NB so I am dividing my stakes up into 5pts so you should adjust your stakes accordingly. A big derby in the North East looks good for BTTS at 21/20 as they are both leaky at the back yet have fire power upfront, in the likes of Defoe, Borini and Negredo. I like Defoe to net at 2/1. This is a derby so expect fireworks and cards, so the 5/2 on the ex Chelsea man Papy Djilobodji who cost 8m to be carded IF he starts could be worth taking.

West Ham are fancied to open their first home game at the “London Stadium” with a win, but I wouldn’t rule out Eddie Howe’s team here. I again can see goals in this fixture, West Ham in Europa League and last Monday have been poor and maybe Payet can spark some life into them. Bournemouth have plenty of pace in their attacking areas so I like goals here. I am tipping BTTS & O2.5g 1/1. Callum Wilson scored a hat trick last season against the hammers and looks a GREAT bet at 19/5 and whilst I am tipping at great odds I am taking Bournemouth O1.5g at 15/8

    Max’s Super Sunday Tips

    Sunderland v Boro BTTS 21/20
    Defoe to score 2/1
Djilobodji to be carded 5/2 (if he starts)

    Wilson to score 19/5
    Bournemouth O1.5g 15/8
    BTTS & O2.5g 1/1

At these odds if they come in it could be early retirement for us all :-)

  12. nathanl 8 years ago

    Absolutely shocking from me yesterday…

    NAP
Liverpool 2+ (why I don’t use my own team)
Ajax 2+ (goal in 1st then couldn’t again)
    Basel 2+ (came in easily)
    ** LOST **

    NB
Young boys O2.5 mgs (7-2 final score!)
Basel O2.5 mgs (4-1 final score)
NYCFC O2.5 mgs (goal very early on but stayed a 1-0)
    ** LOST **

£10 acca fell TWO short with Liverpool and Ajax not doing the business so that’s a loss of £85 yesterday…

Only thing with this staking pattern is when it doesn’t go right, it feels like your betting balance has taken a big hit, however a couple of days with winners is the total opposite and feels like you’ve hit the bookies for six!

Had a few Inplay nighters out of pure frustration but luckily picked out 6 winners and 2 losers but all small stakes so felt a bit motivated again,
Woke at 4am and saw Canberra U20’s dominating so took them to score 1st and 2nd goal which they did and was 2-0 at HT, they were then 1-150 to win and ended up losing 2-3! Would have been a nice £1 on away team to win!

Off to research to try to bounce back!…

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Ta Kyle – great result fo your mob yesterday…you a Burnley lad?

    • kyle b 8 years ago

Indeed I am, seen all the good and bad times at Turf Moor since I was a little un for over 15 years. Yesterday was the best performance ive seen at the turf in the 3 spells we have had in the premier league since 2009. We may have surrendered possession (think we had about 15% and didn’t touch the ball in second half lol) but ive never seen us defend as well as that. There could be no greater likeness to parking the bus than what we did in the second 45, I mean we eventually grabbed a corner in the second half (to the delight of the fans) and left six players back while Liverpool left Origi up top haha

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

Great stuff Kyle – been to plenty of games up at Turf Moor – lot of mates from up Nelson/Colne way…bandit country ?

    Utrecht v Alkmaar

BTTS and Over 2.5 Match Goals @ 3/4 (Coral)

Alkmaar won impressively midweek at Vojvodina and aren’t shy of a goal. There is a history of goals in this fixture and I’m hoping that continues. The price is a little skinnier than I’d like, but it’s tempting enough for me.

  15. GregBrowning 8 years ago

Punterpounder, good luck with your last selection mate ??

Hullshaker, nice one last night sir

The footballing world he officially gone mad

I remember not so long ago it was only the top clubs forking out £25-30 million on one player, you’ve now got irrelevant EPL clubs spending that – step forward Crystal palace and Bournemouth! Think they’ve spent over £80 million between them – these are two of the smallest clubs in the league – £80 million????

Celtic Spent £4.5m on Scott Sinclair and as Scottish transfers go, that was a significant amount spent!

Going by todays market I’m valuing myself at at least £1.5million ?

    • Alves 8 years ago

4.5 million was a bargain, CL is worth a 1/4 of that and the amount Desmond has taken over last few yrs (wanyama, forster) only fair some £££ goes back in the team. Celtic are the only team in Scotland that could spend that amount but that’s only to compete in the CL, domestically we could play our 2nd team and probably still win the league, barring Iffy

  16. jim burnside 8 years ago

Brisbane Olympic first half at moment. I jst got 6/5 btts in 2nd half.I think personally that’s a gift.2-1 aftr 25 mins plenty of goals in this b365 gl

  18. HullShaker 8 years ago

Cheers Greg – absolutely crackers the money involved in football now – need to go back to basics.

I remember about 10 years ago, a Romanian club sold two players for a ton of meat each and a Finnish team selling their striker for his own body-weight in prawns ??

Quite like the look of a European team goal treble for this evening:

    NAPOLI
    ATHLETICO MADRID
    REAL MADRID

Over 1.5 TGS pays just shy of 3/1 and should have solid claims despite the absence of Christiano ‘Mothman’ Ronaldo.

Still too early in the season for me so I’m just going with a few goals bets in different variations, and all for small stakes, for an interest while watching Jeff and the boys

Bet 1 – all 3pm Premiership games to have 2 or 3 mgs (I quite like this bet as it covers 7 different score outcomes in each game)
    Burnley v Liverpool EVS
    Swansea v Hull 20/21
    Spurs v Crystal Palace EVS
    Watford v Chelsea 20/21
    West Brom v Everton 20/21
Perm any 4 and all 5 for 6 bets, minimum 4-fold pays around 14/1 and all 5 pays around 29/1 (plus all the 4-folds)

Bet 2 – all to Win and BTTS
    Burton Albion 11/2
    Newcastle 7/2
    Fulham 3/1
    QPR 4/1
Perm any 3 and all 4 for 5 bets, minimum treble pays 89/1 and all 4 pays 584/1 (plus the trebles)

    Bet 3 – all O2.5mgs
    Bolton v Fleetwood EVS
    Bradford v Coventry 23/20
    Millwall v Sheffield United 21/20
    Swindon v Port Vale 21/20
    Walsall v Charlton 21/20
Perm any 4 and all 5 for 6 bets, minimum 4-fold pays over 16/1 and all 5 pays 36/1 (plus all the 4-folds)

*HAD TWO 4-FOLDS OUT OF THE 3 BETS AND ONLY 1 GOAL AWAY FROM A FULL-HOUSE ON THE 2 OR 3 MGS LINE. THE WIN AND BTTS LINE WASN’T EVEN CLOSE. ALSO HAD ANOTHER 4/1 ACCA TOO THAT I DIDN’T POST SO A REALLY GOOD DAY*

Today’s bets, both for small stakes

    Treble pays just over 13/2

    Hey everyone!
Today few bets in Premiera Division.
19:15 Real Sociedad – Real Madrid.
Bale to score at any time 2,30 bet365
In last 3 matches Garet scores 3 goals. Without Ronaldo and Benzema he will be responsibility for goals.
    22:15 Atl. Madrid – Alaves
Atletico has good summer few good transfers like Gameiro, Vrsaljko, Nicolás Gaitán.
They need to win but how much? My tip for this match is Atl Madrid (-1) asian…stake1,90.

Just noticed that over 2.5 goals in the West Ham v Bournemouth is 21/20 seems good odds considering the 2 meetings between these two last season were 3-1 and 4-3. Worth a point in my opinion.

  61. ratboyslim32 8 years ago

You may have noticed that the Russian Div 1 have a very high percent of games that end in a draw. Today, I selected 3 games at random, with odds of 3.00-3.10. Placed a Trixie of 0.10 pts.

    0.40 pts return 5.41 pts!

I have another two Trixies on the other games so I’ll keep you updated.

    **WON**

    DARLINGTON 1883…OVER 1.5 TGS…23/20

The Night Owl sees me over in Brasil with two of Seria A’s lower ranked sides coming together…

    FIGUEIRENSE VS. CRUZEIRO (22.30 KO):

Quick write-up and have seen live coverage of both teams this season – Cruzeiro have looked the stronger of the two but not much in it.

In the last 4 H2H’s stretching back over this season and last, BTTS has prevailed with 1-1, 2-1, 5-1 and 2-2 scorelines.

Domestically this season, it really is a mixed picture with more goals conceded than anything else to go on!

Cruzeiro do edge it however and they have managed the better ‘scoring’ record with 2+ team goals in 8 of their last 14.

    Two selections:

    BTTS…10/11

    CRUZEIRO OVER 1.5 TGS…7/5

    Good luck.
