MONDAY wasn't a bad night with my only regret not putting Barcelona in the top tips.
I tipped over 3.5 goals and over 4.5 goals at 2-1 in their friendly against Leon but for the Top Treble added Cork -1 to Chelsea and Rangers -1.
Cork failed to sparkle while Chelsea and Rangers did the business with Chelsea -1 also bringing up the 6-5 Super Single. Rangers clobbered Clyde 8-1 and I predicted Kris Boyd to break his duck with the first goal at 3-1.
Any profit from Monday is welcome as we approach a tough card on Tuesday. There's a full Football League card, Champions League qualifiers, Challenge Cup clashes and Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
The fact only five teams out of 35 are odds on with William Hill in the Football League suggests we approach this one with caution.
I mentioned earlier Brora were my Super Single in the Daily Record and they've been mentioned on the site a couple of times. Punters believe Highland League champions Brora are a good bet at home to League Two East Fife and they've been cut to 7-4 at McBookie from 11-4.
Brora have banged in 38 goals in six competitive games this season and only conceded to Stenhousemuir who they beat 3-1 in the last round after extra time. They also held a strong Rangers team to a 1-1 draw in pre-season.
East Fife have lost their three openers so I'm taking a chance on Brora while you can have them at 8-11 with bet365 plus one goal.
Elsewhere in the Challenge Cup Falkirk should beat a Dunfermline side who have started slowly and Morton can see off Berwick.
We go from Brora to Bale with the first leg of the Super Cup at the Bernabeu. Atletico boss Diego Simone faces a rebuilding job after losing the likes of Diego Costa and has spent £90 million on new recruits such as Mario Mandzukic and Antoine Griezmann but they'll need time to gel.
Real fielded the world's most expensive side, including new boys James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Bale in the UEFA Super Cup.
Ronaldo netted both goals in the 2-0 defeat of Sevilla and I'm on him at 11-4 with bet365 to scoe first. Real are 8-15 with Ladbrokes to win.
Arsenal look decent at 1-1 with Ladbrokes to beat Besiktas away in the Champions League but again the price is falling.
I've spent most of the morning studying tonight's card and it doesn't look any easier. There are many teams bookies can't split and these are best left alone unless you're doing draws – and I might put up some as a comment but not a tip later.
Last night I said I like Cardiff at home to Wigan, Reading at home to Huddersfield and Burton at home to Exeter but Burton have lost striker Billy Kee to Scunthorpe today and that's a loss so bear it in mind if you are still backing Burton.
I said best aways could be Watford at Rotherham, Preston at Doncaster and Fleetwood at Scunthorpe. Scunny have also signed Luke O'Neill from Burnley after their poor start so Fleetwood might get it tougher than expected.
Brora are still 23-10 at McBookie so I'll put them up as the Super Single and let's hope we've called this one right.
It really is a bit of minefield and again I'd advise caution. I've decided to put up several trebles but don't expect anyone to do them all. Have a look, see what you think and back the ones you like.
The Top Treble of Morton, Cardiff and Real Madrid is the same one I featured in today's Daily Record.
My Euro treble starts with Arsenal who have won all 12 of their Champions League qualifiers. Turkey can be a tough to place to visit but I don't see it being unlucky 13 against a team who finished second behind Fenerbahce in the league but took their banned rivals' place.
Add Bayer Leverkusen who should be too strong away to Copenhagen and Napoli at home to Athletic Bilbao. Our old friends Red Bull Salzburg should beat Malmo at home but they're a bit short at a biggest 3-10 with William Hill.
For the English treble I'm taking Cardiff who looked impressive against Huddersfield at the weekend against a Wigan side who have lost 2-1 to Charlton and Burton after drawing with Reading. Add Plymouth who have also started well with six goals in two games against a Stevenage outfit who crashed 2-0 to Southend.
And complete the line with my League One title tips Preston at a Doncaster side who lost 3-1 at home to Port Vale at the weekend.
My Scottish treble starts with Championship side Falkirk at League One Dunfermline in the Challenge Cup. Add Morton at home to a Berwick side they beat in the League Cup a few weeks ago and take Stranraer at home to Albion Rovers. Stranraer were stunned 4-0 by Morton at the weekend but an early red cost them dearly.
And finally I've stuck up a btts treble going by stats and head to heads – remember don't back all these trebles but let's hope some of them are winners.

If you read my write up of a few days back regarding this season’s Argentina ‘Transition’ round you will know that there is no concern about relegation this ‘Torneo Transicion’ and with that said we have noted more teams ‘going for it’ and opening up their style of play. I felt bookies have been slow to adjust to this and are still pricing totals based on last season’s action. So far it’s let to a few nice payouts in a few games I’ve played including today’s earlier 2-2 draw in the early game at a very nice +3.66.
The late match tonight features Lanus and Atl Rafaela and I’m bypassing the 2.25 Asian handicap and going with over 2.5 at +129 for two units. I handicap the match at 3.56.
AR lost 3-0 to newly promoted Independiente at home. That made it 6 of their last 8 home games dating back to last season seeing over 2.5 cash. The two that didn’t go over landed on 2.
Lanus were runners up in the Inicial last season but ended 9th in the Final. Quite the slip. It can be said they were focusing on the Copa Libertadores during that time or that their defense just wasn’t as strong.
50% of Lanus’ matches went over 2.5 last season and their games averages 2.32 total goals in the Torneo Final. Both matches between these two teams finished over 2.5 goals.
Again, I feel like there is a touch of an overlay to the under here and for these reasons have to jump on the over with all 4 of my data runs giving me 3 goals with an average handicap of 3.56. The side was less clear so I will pass.

Hi tipsters. I’m in a challenge with a group of guys at work to see who can make the most profit from a £20 starting stake in the month of August. I think for Burton Billy Kee taking the next step to League one has been coming for a little while now. The guy is a natural goalscorer but lacks fitness so doesn’t last 90 minutes but great to bring on say 25-30 minutes from the end and bang a few in.
For me I will still take Burton tonight as they should bring a new striker in before the game as I don’t think their current squad has any great replacements and think contain a couple injuries. Less confident now but 3-0 Burton right?

Hi. ive never commented on here however i am a fan. I see a few people have pointed out that Millwall may be a good bet tonight. As a Wednesday ST holder i have to say i wouldn’t recommend it. William I would agree with you on McLaren, I reckon hes doing a good job and hasca settled side from the one who were unlucky not too go up last year after playing so well all year and being free scoring but coming up short in the final in which they outolayed QPR but coukdnt put one of many chances they created in the back of the net. Zamora ultimately scored late on and stole the match. Derby should turn things around and finish and around the play off positions which isnt unrealistic

As well as Champions league playoffs in Europe, there’s also the lesser known competition of the Asian Champions League today as Saudi side Al Hilal Riyadh take on Qatari outfit Al Sadd in the Quarter Finals. It’s been over 3 months since the group stages were completed and a long wait for both sides but finally it’s knockout football as both of their seasons get back on track. Al Hilal have already kicked off their domestic campaign in Saudi Arabia, winning both of their opening 2 games and topping the league. They come into this under the new guidance of Reghekampf, a manager who has joined the Saudi side after a very successful spell in charge of Steaua Bucharest in Romania. He’s an experienced manager who had great success during his 2 year tenure as Steaua dominated domestically and achieved Champions League football. Fans are hoping he can transpose his Romanian success into helping their side achieve glory in both the Saudi League and more importantly the Champions League. Al Sadd’s season is yet to get underway in Qatar, aside from a 2-3 win in the super cup over Lekhwiya. There’s been very little activity for Al Sadd in the summer apart from the announcement that their star man and former Spanish International, Raul, has announced his retirement from football. It’s a big loss for Al Sadd and they don’t seem to have made much effort to fill that void with only one notable signing on their books. This will be the 3rd meeting between the two clubs in this years Champions League as they were drawn against each other in the same group. Al Hilal topped the group with 9 points with Al Sadd finishing 2nd on 8 points so it was tight at the top. But Al Sadd’s last visit to Saudi Arabia ended with them leaving with a 5-0 defeat in the group stages with the away leg ending 2-2. Under the management of Reghekampf they will no doubt be a class outfit this season and against an Al Sadd side who are yet to achieve match fitness, have lost their star player and were thrashed on their last visit here, all signs point to a home win.

Ittihad Coach Khalid Al Koroni is well and truly up for this game and has said his players will be going all out for the win. They welcome back their Ivorian striker Ya Konan who will be a big lift for them. Al Ittihad have got of to a solid start in their domestic campaign with 2 solid wins from the first 2 games. Al Ain will know that they need a good result on their home soil as they struggle on the road. Hopes lie on their talismatic striker and captain Asamoah Gyan who has scored 59 goals in his 47 appearances for Al Ain since his move from Sunderland in 2012. Al Ain also welcome Miroslav Stoch who they signed from Fenerbahce in the Summer. With what Ittihads coach has said about going to Al Ain to attack and with Al Ains mentality of all out attack then i can see this game being very open with lots of goals at both ends.

A place in the group stages is at stake and it’s a huge opportunity for both sides today as they meet in the Red Bull Arena. Salzburg’s goal scoring record is second to none on home soil. They have scored in 49 of their last 50 games here in all competitions and in 13 games in the Champions League at the Red Bull Arena they have never failed to find the net. A few weeks ago they lost striker Alan to a wrist injury and many suspected that this would have a heavy impact on the goals scored. Enter…Soriano, since Alan picked up that knock against Qarabag, the Austrian outfit have scored 11 goals in 2 games with Spanish striker Soriano scoring 5 of those goals. But they also have the likes of Sabitzer who has 2 goals to his name from midfield in 2 games and they have an incredible wealth of talent in their squad. Hopefully Red Bull put on a show tonight and if you follow them week in week out you will know what their style of football is. They simply swarm their opponents and attack, but against Malmo, that could well leave them susceptible. Malmo are no mugs, that’s for sure. They knocked out Sparta Prague in their last qualifying round which is one hell of an achievement but though they are underdogs here, coach Age Hareide is pretty confident that they will find the net and they do have a fantastic record of doing so. They’ve scored in 6 of their 7 away ties in the Champions League qualifiers previously and with Adi Hutter no doubt setting his Salzburg side up for attack, you have to assume that space will create itself for the likes of Rosenborg and Forsberg, both of whom will play tonight and both of whom are perfectly capable of finding the back of the net. I’m expecting goals tonight in Austria, it’s as simple as that.

Whitestar – whilst I completely agree with Mr F that other writers copy shouldn’t be ‘cut and paste’ it’s clear to me that you’ve not intentionally gone out to deceive or gain from this.
I for one, am grateful for the Barcelona match being highlighted last night. Whilst the copy wasn’t your text, highlighting information like that (ie “this is the rationale behind this match”) is useful. yes yes I know that it’s ice hockey, what’s more a european one and barely anyone bets on that but I can see big value here. Two very strong european teams face each other in a friendly match today. I think copying people tips is highly annoying and I see Whitestar was quick enough to post in the win when it won. I noticed a little while back my MLS tips were being copied to the letter by someone somewhere, hence why I dont give any out until just before kick off now. Leeds United v Brighton
Well my beloved Leeds are at home again tonight, not one of our favourites (home on a midweek night in the cold) always seems to stumble us now and again, thinking back to a few embarrassing results 5-0 loss to blackpool, 4-1 to Birmingham. But we have our ups also and tonight is one i think we will enjoy. Brighton have not had the start they wanted and they don’t seem like the team of last year at all. Personally i think the hyypia signing could be costly. On the other hand leeds have had mixed results and been a bit more lucky than i care to admit, but i can see us beating brighton tonight and its game like borough at home where you need to get the 3 points even if not at our best as that will be the difference between play offs and mid table. Billy sharp is an excellent signing and someone i wanted leeds to sign 5 years ago and he think he will be firing tonight!
Past fixtures between us both have majority seen goals, BTTS coming up on plenty occasions so even with brighton ot scoring in 2 anything is possible against leeds.

Evening Guys, Todays fixtures looks a total minefield, and a word of caution a lot of midweek games especially in England were void of goals especially in second half of the season, something to bear in mind in the both to score, goal rush market. I will be watching the Arsenal game and will have a bet on that game. I will be waiting for teams news on the Real Madrid game before putting anything up.

The Qualifiers are always tough to judge especially the first leg but Arsenal usually find a way to get the job done. Their as been O2.5 goal in the home sides 2 champions league games this season. I think Arsenal will be look for an away goal, so I will take a chance on both teams to score 10/11 William Hill.
In the goal scorer market, I think Demba Ba looks a decent bet. He was a proven scorer at Newcastle and his career stalled a little at Chelsea.
