IT'S been a disappointing week but I'm still in profit for the month on the Super Single and advised accumulators – just.
The figures looked much healthier a week ago but it has to be accepted results are inconsistent at this time of season as teams try to find their form and get new players to gel.
One side who haven't had that problem are Dunfermline who have been my Super Single the last two Saturdays. I recommended them earlier in the week at home to Cowdenbeath at 4-5 but best price is now 4-7.
However, I haven't been able to resist the Fifers' lure and I'm taking them for a third week running but this time -2AH. That means you win if they triumph by three or more and the stake is void if they win by two.
Remember they defeated Beath 5-1 in the League Cup two weeks and check out my separate preview of the game and there will be Scottish and English previews posted too – as well both teams to score reasoning if I get time.
I'm putting up points for the top tips I've featured in today's Daily Record and listed my long shots but they won't be included in stats – win or lose – and should be played for small stakes.

I’d advise staying away from Hibernian. Started the season atrociously. 6-2 defeat against rangers. 2-1 defeat against Dumbarton last week. Last season hibs relied a lot on scot Allan who has now left for Celtic. Hibs will struggle unless a decent replacement is brought in. But there’s no chance of that happening before tomorrow’s game. Morton last week done well to draw with a decent Falkirk side. Morton at 8/1 looks decent or dnb at 6/1
Tony, Liam Henderson has been signed on loan from Celtic and Dylan McGeouch permanently as part of Allan deal but I don’t know of they can play today.
Not sure how they’ll react today but should be too strong for Morton.

I’m from Serbia and adore English football. Agree 100% with what you’ve said. MU made a big mistake with a big thinking Dutch guy. It seems that Depay is better than any other youngster from England? Come on…talented Yes, but paying so much money…I think that Arsenal just doesn’t have luck and perfect coach!!! Arsen is OK but he doesnt give enough focus on the defence. They need a kind of warriors back like Martin K. and Tonny A. not Mertezaker. And a bit more serious attitude when it comes to defence…for instance Ozil. Just an observation, and Not applicable to mr.f. There’s a multitude of games on today and value to be had by spending a little time looking for ‘under the radar’ bets. Personally, i find the lower divisions in scotland and england richer pickings than just sticking with the bigger leagues, where a lot of teams don’t seem to show any consistency from week to week, and the bigger teams are priced too short. The weight of punting on the big teams doesn ‘t alwa ys reflect the true price. I’ll post some lower division tips later

I’m off to dens tomorrow to cheer on the Perth men and going by our performances so far this season, there is little chance of is seeing a clean sheet against a Dundee side who have looked dangerous going forward! We’ve conceded in all 5 games so far this season with all 7 goals avoidable! 2 of our usual back 4 are still out injured ( hence the defensive frailties) We are slow starters and I think Dundee will be too strong for us going forward!

Ps-I would just like to add that has anybody ever looked at the Western Australia Premier League results? I have been following this league for some time now using Soccerway. I don’t think I’ve come across a division with so many goals! It’s been reasonably profitable so far. The games kick off every Saturday morning at 8am. You have to wait 10 minutes before kick off on Bet 365 to get the full quota of betting options but if you do a bit of research beforehand it should benefit you! With 5 minutes to go in the first half this morning 5 of he 6 matches have already seen btts! …….believe me this league is well worth following!

I don’t know about you but I like splitting my betting day into two parts at the weekend when there are plenty of fixtures. I take selections up to 18:00 as the first part of the day and then the evening fixtures later when, hopefully, some more profit has been made to invest.

For some reason the bookies think the hearts game will be a low scoring affair .. but after rall pointed out about not backing hearts but backing there ability to score goals I looked into it and all 7 games ever played between them and Ross co have seen hearts over 1.5 team goals and @17/10 I think that’s a steal ! Whilst I’d love to be buoyant and say Derby should be beating Charlton for the first home game of the season, the two injuries to Bryson and Hughes and the returning Thorne has been a bit like 1 step forward, 2 back. 4/7 price doesn’t add up. I think our last 16 or so competitive games and we’ve only won twice.
On a plus side, Charlton were one of only a few teams we beat home and away last season, Shackell – although not totally match fit has shown his class.
Perhaps the gaffer has too many players to choose from, strength in the bench is a bonus but you still need a relatively settled first team which he doesn’t seem to of found yet.
I’m betting on nothing silly today, no handicaps, no anytime scorer’s, just a single £10 on the home win.
The gaffer made 8 changes Wednesday and the only positive will be the lack of clutter in the lead in to xmas with fixtures which could work in our favour.
Hendrick was off the pace midweek and Grant made a howler for Portsmouth’s first so I expect Carson back behind the sticks, with Shackell, Thorne, Ince and Russell definite’s. Who he picks for the remaining 6 places, I have no idea. Bent got next to no service Wednesday and the only player who looked like he wanted to score for Derby was Russell.

Despite being bottom of the table , Gifu are generally reliable for scoring away from home.
They got battered 5-0 last time out away but this was against the league leaders. They’d scored in the 9 previous away matches and got at least 2 in 5 games.

Im a life long Man Utd supporter and also think Van Gaal is the man for Utd. One thing I would be worried about is treatment of David De Gea at the hands of Van Gaal.
This has been badly managed by Manchester United, make no mistake about that, to allow a player of his quality not to extend a couple of years ago.
Van Gaal came out in public regarding the situation, something that would have never happened under Fergie. Van Gaal has then demoted De Gea to train with the reserves, a tactic he also employed with Victor Valdes.
Its the managers decision to do as he pleases but Van Gaal would be better served keeping the players situations in house rather then going public.
The question has to be asked why wasn’t [his contract] extended in that period? To allow his contract to get to this situation is poor management. And now United are paying for it.”

I’m off to dens tomorrow to cheer on the Perth men and going by our performances so far this season, there is little chance of is seeing a clean sheet against a Dundee side who have looked dangerous going forward! We’ve conceded in all 5 games so far this season with all 7 goals avoidable! 2 of our usual back 4 are still out injured ( hence the defensive frailties) We are slow starters and I think Dundee will be too strong for us going forward!

Smaller bets on scorers. Ryan fraser is playing in an attacking wing role always looking to cut in. Seen him in preseason and first two games of the season and looks dangerous. Definate value at 7/1 to score anytime considering he scored last week at brentford.
Tommy smith anytime at 9/1 also shows some value. A lot of ipswich goals come from set pieces and smith often pops up with a goal every now and again. Going on our performances in the first two games this will be buying money as our defence is playing like they’ve never seen each other before. If we had been playing Swansea today and not Norwich we would have conceded 7 or 8.

WasClueless, for what it’s worth, here is my thought on the rugby:
I dont think Slammin’ Sam is international standard yet, and defo not at center. France has got a VERY experienced center pairing for this game, who are solid in defense. Although Sam has Slade playing inside him, and with a ballplaying 12, he could certainly play Burgess in for a try, but I just don;t think his awareness and understanding is there yet for the game, so anytime try scorer seems a bit of a reach to me.
Might be a better one to go for Slade anytime try scorer at 3/1.

Accidentally backed btts at Sivasspor in my acca and not over 2.5mgs but thankfully it’s in now anyway. Only posted this acca and suggested backing Dong Thap in Vietnam today on here so happy with 2/2. Had a few other challenge bet losers not on here but the accas make up for them.

WC cheers. Have found Vietnam is really good for betting. Thought id share on here, it won’t be everybody’s cup of tea or go to league but I’ve found the results are very very consistent with a lot more emphasis on home and away form rather than head to heads. Home advantage is a huge thing, you get some mid table teams who win 7 or 8 home games straight and lose all their aways in between. Always lay Hoang, like today, when they’re away as they’re awful on the road.
Other team I’ve made good money on so far this season has been Admira in Austria Bundesliga. They seem great for goals and must have strengthened or done something dramatic this summer as they’re always evens or better for 1.5tgs/to win yet have been banging in goals for fun
Harry – yes saw Admira goals today … Vietnam is one I had a bit of success a couple of weeks ago and forgot about … German u19s is a new one I noticed today as a good league for goals … hoping to make a few quid on the > 2.5 MGS in the Ladies CL games again tomorrow!

Mr F sir … you didn’t put it up on the thread as a tip but saw your comment on the Euro -1 handicap … don’t like handicaps … so I sort of adapted with a >1.5 TGS treble of Ajax, Porto and PSG … two down and as long as PSG don’t see Red again looks another top tip – thanks!!

Very early I know but as I wait for the NYRB team news just put 1.5 of my points on Bayern to win the Champions League … reasons … watched 2 pre-season friendlies and the demolition of Hamburg.
