DERBY left it late but there's nothing better than a goal with the last kick to bring up the Super Single.

The Rams -1 at Carlisle paid a handsome 6-4 while the Daily Double on Derby and Jong Ajax returned just under 7-4 with Coral and thanks once again to everyone who contributed team news. It really help especially with the Jong teams in Holland and the Capital One Cup games.

Carlisle-Derby kicked off the cup games and most of the other first-round ties are being played on Tuesday night. I've looked at as many match previews as possible and the recurring them is so and so will be “ringing the changes” so my advice is to be cautious and try to check starting line-ups before having a bet.

Some sides who make a lot of changes from the weekend will have the squad to cope but others will be happy to write off the tie and hope for a decent weekend result in the league.

We also have the European Super Cup between Real Madrid and Sevilla with Real set to start James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in Cardiff against a side who have lost players themselves.

Team news has to be confirmed but if the three Galacticos are in the line-up there's no way Real will slip up. They are a biggest 4-9 at Paddy Power while over 2.5 goals is just 1-2 at McBookie and BetVictor.

To score first you can have Ronaldo at 11-4 with bet365, Bale at 5-1 with Ladbrokes and Rodriguez at 6-1 with Ladbrokes. Take your pick!

With so many questions to be answered in the Capital One Cup my Super Single is Real -1 at 1-1 with Betfred and bet365. They could put on a show tonight and if they're in the mood can put Sevilla to the sword although their opponents are still a decent outfit.

Among other matches there are French League Cup and Irish League Cup clashes and a full Conference card so and help from fans or anyone in the know is appreciated. And that's no to mention Man Utd and Chelsea in friendly action against Valencia and Real Sociedad respectively.

So here are my tips – but please remember the ones involving Capital One Cup ties are always risky.

The treble starts with MK Dons at home to Wimbledon and at least this is a game both sides will be desperate to win. MK Dons started the season with a superb 4-2 win against Gillingham while AFC drew at home to Shrewsbury. As is normal MK will leave some players out but they have more quality than their opponents so should win.

Add Blackburn who have a big enough squad to cope with making some changes at home to Scunthorpe who lost at Swindon on Saturday. And make it a treble with Forest Green who face a Chester hammered 5-0 at home to Barnet at the weekend.

    REAL MADRID -1 2.10

Real madrid will go off very short as they plan to use a full strength side for the UEFA Super cup.It will just be wave after wave attack in Cardiff.Bale, ronaldo and james expected to start.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

daz, they’ll be cut for sure – 4-9 isn’t bad if those are three are starting. Bale for one will be looking to put on a show in front of the Welsh public and Rodriguez will be hoping to continue from where he left off in the World Cup. Sevilla have bought one player – from Reading – and sold Rakitic to Barcelona for £16m.

  2. daz 10 years ago

They reckon Rodriquez will play behind striker Benzema with bale and Ronaldo on the wings.Another new signing Toni kroos will also be in the side.Real saying they really want this as it is 12 years since their last super cup.

  3. Marky mark 10 years ago

I’ll be on the -1 too Daz at that price.

After a shocker of a weekend let’s hope tonight was the start of an decent week ahead.

Well done and thanks mr f what a way to land the super single.
Real look like the proverbial banker @4/9.

  6. Dan R 10 years ago

Stuart Pearce was very vocal after the game on Saturday that he would be playing as strong a side as possible away to Tranmere tomorrow.

Forest @ 4/6 look good as part of a double or treble

  7. thechief 10 years ago

Mr F, congrats with the super single, made it even more sweeter Martin got it which a few were on I would imagine, including me.

    SUPER CUP

I am going put this up early as the price may change, Gareth Bale returns home for the Super Cup and I am sure he will be popular choice in the morning. He has scored in the big games for Madrid and his odds on in with quite a few firms, but is available at 6/5 Coral. I will add any other bets tomorrow.

    BALE TO SCORE 6/5

Good luck if your having a bet

“Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe looks set to make 11 changes for the trip along the south coast.

The Cherries boss saw his side start their season in emphatic style with a 4-0 demolition of Huddersfield on Saturday but the former Burnley manager will be making wholesale changes.

Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas are set for their first starts for Bournemouth while the likes of Ian Harte, Brett Pitman and Adam Smith will hope to be given the nod.

Benjamin Buchel looks likely to make his first senior appearance for the Cherries in goal having impressed his manager during pre-season.”

Opportunity for the reserves to show their skills. I consider Exeter as a team which lack quality, and therefore I won’t touch the Double Chance (1X). I’ll focus on the goalscorer-market, because the likely goalscorers won’t play (Wilson, Kenmorgant). Brett Pitman, on the bench against Huddersfield, has shown that he is capable of scoring goals, and as a probable starter, I will take him to score at anytime @ 7/5.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

BusinessmanNL, cheers for that – I think Howe usually makes plenty of changes for the cup games.

Chief I know its early but any thoughts on the challenge cup final yet?

    • thechief 10 years ago

Flickhead, As you say it is bit early yet with a round of super league fixtures to be completed. Leeds will probably rest a few as they are at London. Castleford cant afford to go into that match without a fully fit squad and face Warrington away so be interesting to see what sort of side they put out. They wont want to go into the final on the back of a hammering.

  12. Flickhead 10 years ago

MrF,r kid said Leeds were awful at Millwall saturday, defence very disorganised and no service from midfield going forward,im looking at Accrington to score over 0.5 mg at 8/15 and maybe double it with Shrewsbury DC against Blackpool.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Flickhead, I read Leeds were poor and won’t be touching them for sure.

Blackpool look value against Shrewsbury Imo, 9-4??
    Am I missing something here?
Two leagues difference, yes its a cobbled together team but still better players than the shrews have imo, i’m on

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

robbo, personally I wouldn’t touch Blackpool until things settle down. The shortage of players has well been documented but I believe they played OK at Forest on Saturday but lacked a cutting edge. The price is there to suck you in and I’d like to hear from our resident Blackpool fan.

  16. Flickhead 10 years ago

Agreed Chief, warrington will be smarting after that semi defeat, but Castleford have been very impressive this season.

  17. Elliott 10 years ago

Brighton should take care of Cheltenham at The Amex, however at odds of 1/2 I’d be a little weary after a dismal display against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. I was at the game and Brighton only mustered a couple of good chances all game.

Looking at the stats and Cheltenham have actually scored in their last 11 league cup games and Brighton have only ever got through the first round just once in the past 5 seasons. So if you consider competition history relevant then the omens aren’t good for Brighton.

Brighton have quite a small squad at the moment so there will be little choice but to start a few first teamers. Mackail Smith will likely start having been on the bench for Saturdays defeat. Solly March is also back from injury and set for a run out. Will Buckley should also start unless he is held back following interest from Sunderland.

Cheltenham are set to name a strong side after a good win away at Bury so I’m predicting quite a close game, with Brighton’s quality coming through, just.

BTTS at 4/5 may be the best bet or over 2.5 at 8/11.

  18. David K 10 years ago

Good double Mr F on what was very slim pickings.

  19. Flickhead 10 years ago

Robbo I fancied Shrewsbury might get a draw against a struggling Blackpool, but just checked best price on double chance, only 4/11,thats a leave alone.

Ltonight sees the Australian FFA cup and the tie of the round is sydney fc against melbourne city (formerly heart).
Sydney coach graham arnold has stated that he wont take any risks with any of his injured players (marc janko, alex brosque, shane smeltz- all strikers) and another forward bernie ibini played in the all stars game a couple of days ago.
Melbourne have included damien duff in their squad.
In another big game adelaide city play western city wanderers and I think with wanderers returning to ACL action very soon Tony Popovic will want to put out a strong squad in a precursor to that game.
    My tips are:
    Melbourne City 1.95 @ bet365
    WSW ht/ft 1.66 @ bet365

    Good luck to all

  22. Tadders 10 years ago

I was at The Den last Saturday (not singing Saville songs, I will add) and it was rocking and as a few have said the Leeds defence was really poor and apart from a few pacy lads upfront and lanky smith they offered nothing.
They litteraly were leaving unmarked players in their own penalty area and were all in all shocking.

Might be worth looking at the 0.5 inplay for Stanely but on skybet…

Acrinton first team to score – 2/1
Acrinton to score and btts – 10/1

Millwall will put out a slightly weaker team than the Leeds game however…

Lee Gregory who we signed from Halifax I expect to start and when he came on vs Leeds was strong and bright.

He is only 1/1 to score anytime but 4/1 to score first.

Best of luck all, early doors… But this is my insight.

  23. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Will be all about goals for me tomorrow but do fancy three teams to win:

    Blackburn to beat Scunthorpe

    Blackpool
    Peterborough

Only Accrington Stanley & Cambridge would be real shocks plus with Blackpool too hardly any players but 85/40 a massive price

    CRAWLEY Vs IPSWICH 19:45

As an ipswich fan been looking into tomorrows game against crawley and have found out majority of the ipswich key players will be rested or will not be risked as many received slight knocks/fatigue vs fulham.

Mccarthy has stated that hes going to be giving debuts to some of the youth and the bench will me mainly unexperienced.

Due to a more likely unexperienced squad i see btts as a near cert, however odds are reflected at 13/20 at will hill.

Goalscorer wise mccarthy has stated he will hand a start to young striker jack marriot who is currently 13/5 to score anytime and stands the best chance out of the most probable line up.

    crawley vs ipswich – Btts @ 13/20.
btts and over 2.5 goals @ evens.
Jack marriot anytime scorer @ 13/5 all at will hill.

Good luck if anyone is on and COYB just under two weeks until the naaarwich game!

    REAL MADRID VS SEVILLA TIPS

I’m sticking my neck out and going for a big priced Goalscorer for this match. I’m backing Sevilla defender Coke to score first goal. He’s generally available at 25/1 and 33/1 but Boylesports are offering odds of 66/1. Even better is that Boylesports are running the double bubble promotion whereby they will pay out at double the odds which means that should he score in the first 20 mins they will pay out at 132/1. I’m also backing him to score anytime, he’s as short as 6/1 but 22/1 again with Boylesports. Coke doesn’t score that often but does now and again. I just have a funny feeling about this one. I think the guy could score and hopefully he nets first.

    Recommended Bets:
Coke First Goalscorer 66/1 @ Boylesports
(Will pay out @ 132/1 if first 20 mins)
Coke Anytime Goalscorer 22/1 @ Boylesports

    Good luck everyone

Notts forest, millwall, middlesbrough, Real Madrid -2.Sevilla have lost two of their stars from last season, mbia has gone and ratikic has gone to Barcelona.they have not strengthened at all to replace the core that has been taken out of the team.I can see Real rioting tomorrows match 4-0

  35. Marcopolo 10 years ago

Yes guys I picked up a 4 team accumulator today at 10/1 odds for a 100US that was super sweet…

Today if you look in the lower leagues there is goal to be had…

Forest Green,Bromley,North Ferriby and Guiseley all at home should get it done….pays about 6/1

Capital One Cup can be tricky but don’t wager lots on that, try to keep it small too many team changes..but surely Reading,Watford and Boro should win!!!

  36. dave 10 years ago

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

dave, there are no “surelys” in the Capital One Cup first round. All depends on team news and mindset.

  37. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Looking a bit ahead- Sturrige to score anytime 11/10 seems a massive price at 365 compared to anywhere else, at home v a much changed Southampton team. Has been in good form pre-season and is the main man up front now.

    Rooney 11/10 at betbright or 10/11 elsewhere…

    Sturridge/Rooney anytime DOUBLE 3/1

Lovren to score v his old club- 15/2 at 365 again. If he plays he will a threat from set pieces.

I’ve took them all, I’m a pool fan and it’s the first game of the season I know but couldn’t resist a go on them.

  42. RennersLUFC 10 years ago

So here it is.. The man with the most unpredictable boss and probably the most impossible job in football, has his first home game.

Yes that’s right – Leeds United.

After a dire pre season on & off the pitch & a win against Dundee on last day of pre season masking over the big wide cracks, it was no surprise to see Leeds go down to Milwall.
Saturday’s performance was disappointing and for the first 45 minutes we never really competed. They dominated the game. We were a little bit better in the second half and we had chances but we never took them and those chances weren’t really through our making – it was more that Millwall made a couple of errors. But overall you look at the game and you have to say that the best team won over the 90 minutes.

I must say the sloppy defending by Wotton for the first at a corner is unforgivable but the penalty was very harsh against the young lad Lewis Cook (the latest star of the production line)

    Onto tonight’s game..

I reckon leeds should have enough class to overcome Accrington but with all sorts going on at Leeds (Byram leaving, Owner lost the plot) and the potential changes to starting line up i.e very good young lads Taylor, Dawson & Cook maybe playing and these older pros that are struggling badly i.e Hunt Morrison & then I’m expecting a cagey game especially first half. So here are my bets:

    *Big Bet* Leeds Win 8/15
*Medium Bet* Draw HT Leeds FT 3/1
*Medium Bet* Leeds Win BTTS 2/1
    *Small Bet* Leeds 3-2 22/1

  43. craigyboy 10 years ago

A few value bets I’m looking at for tonight:
    Cambridge double chance 15/13
    Burton double chance 10/11
    Accrington double chance 28/17
I’d even be tempted to back against my own team with Northampton double chance at 2’s.

    Forest Green v Chester
    Bromley v Whitehawk

A little early to draw true form lines but Forest Green won away at Southport on Saturday, whilst Chester were thumped at home by Barnet (0-5).

Similarly, Bromley won 3-1 away whilst Whitehawk lost at home to Staines.

Can get 4/6 on both home teams. Suggest small stakes – 2 x home wins and the double.

By the way, you seen the Klitschko Briggs restaurant spat? Hilarious but looks suspiciously staged.

I agree Dr, ridiculously rehearsed. Once Klitschko retires, which will happen soon, the Heavyweight division is there for Wilder to unify which I really am looking forward to seeing.

A painter and decorator has won more than £7 million in a Lottery rollover.

The man from Edinburgh, who has not yet been named, had the winning ticket for Saturday’s draw.

He is to collect £7,084,472 and will celebrate his win and discuss what he plans to spend it on in the capital tomorrow.

    Halifax v Southport

The fortunes home and away of these clubs couldn’t be more contrasting! Step forward Halifax, battled at the top end of the league last season and were terrific at home! They lost just once at home all season! Southport were towards the bottom of the legaue mainly because their away form was horrendous! They won just one of their 23 away games! I don’t see that changing tonight!

    Back Halifax 4/7

    Forest Green v Chester

An absolute disaster opening game for the visitors on Saturday! They were hammered 5-0 at home to barnet and from what I’ve seen they have some problems! Fancy forest green who are decent at home to edge this!

    Back Forest Grewn 4/6

    Double pays 8/5

  72. Iddy 10 years ago

RAAL/ Mr F etc – Will Hill are offering 5/2 on Alexis to score an EPL hat trick this season – what do you think? He’s more than capable and I think Arsenal might hand out a couple of thrashings this season. Or are odds too low

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Iddy, it’s one of those speculative bets. He could do it or hit a few doubles. It’s not a bet for me but that’s not saying it won’t come up.

Does anybody know who is expected to be Chelsea’s number one keeper this year? I’ve read rumours of Cech looking to move but it’s hard to believe anything during pre-season. Any idea is Cortouis is taking over?

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Chip, I can’t see it being anyone but Courtois, all signs point to it and correctly so. As for Cech moving, he has hinted that he wouldn’t make a fuss should he be benched. I also see no team that would sign him?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chip, it will be Courtois as far as I’m aware. Don’t think he’ll wear not at least starting with the jersey. And he’s also the better keeper despite his youth.

Anyone looking to get On chris guys coke tips, he is a major doubt for the game and is very likely to be ruled out, skysports news have just said it!

  86. Greg Browning 10 years ago

We certainly have nothing to fear Mr F but I would still expect Celtic to win! Our matches at home to Celtic are generally really closely fought! The last 4 meetings have been 2 draws and a win a piece! Going back further only 3 of the last 18 games have seen Celtic win by more than a goal!

I think we’ll score, just a case of what Celtic side turn up!

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Greg, I think that’s the key – we don’t know what to expect from Celtic. It’s a tough league opener for Deila who is already under pressure and a best 8-15 for me is no value. Saints +2 will be a better price.

Afternoon all :) early Sunday morning another British boxer attempts to win a world title. KELL BROOK fights Shaun porter in America for the IBF Welterweight world championship.
    YES I have backed brook
YES I’m biased as a result
Here’s my thinking ! Ever heard the phrase back them till they get beat ? I know it’s a horse racing analogy but it suits here as this fight is between 2 unbeaten fighters “so someone’s 0 has gotta go !” Porter as I’m sure RAALJACA will tell you “and I agree” is a worthy unbeaten world champion who punches hard and tries to overwhelm his opponents as he did when winning this belt from Devon Alexander and more recently when defending it in great style over Pauli malignaggi. Sounds good ?? So why do I think Kell Brook can win ?
Firstly I firmly believe that while brook has faced lesser opposition than porter , kell punches significantly harder than any of porters previous opponents . The come forward style of porter is also taylormade for brooks cat and mouse style and like all ingle fighters kell is very hard to hit clean . Also he’s unbeaten so while not yet tested at world level ,THIS is his big chance and we know that Dominic ingle (brooks trainer) will have left no stone unturned in his preparation . Now getting a result in the states won’t be easy and brook will have to win well but I believe his strength of punch will be too much for porter and he will win possibly by k/o in the later rounds . so my tips are as follows ( and I have backed both )
Kell Brook to win @2/1 (widely available)
Kell Brook to win by k/o 9/2 (paddy power)
Good luck if having an interest :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Excellent write up William and I totally agree about Kell Brook as he is a phenomenal puncher. For me it would be a fight to watch rather than back but at the odds you have I really hope Brook lands for you mate. One good bet is no matter what the result there will be a rematch!

First round of La Coupe de la Ligue:

Rather difficult at this stage to predict, but here’s two games I’m confident about.

*ANGERS – NIMES BTTS: Their last week’s confrontation saw 5 goals (3-2), and since then Angers won 2-0 to Arles and Nimes drew 2-2 with Valenciennes. BTTS @ 1.98

*ORLEANS – AUXERRE BTTS: a derby neither of them want to lose. Auxerre got off to a good start (4/6, 3F 1A) and should be too strong for Orléans (3/6, 1F 1A), but given that Auxerre will start with 10 different players compared to the game they played last weekend against Clermont, I reckon Orleans will be able to score at least one. BTTS @ 1.98

I’m also pretty confident Nancy will win at home against Le Havre (@ 2.00).

    Good luck to all.

From the Nottingham Forest Website, Stuart Pearce is quoted as saying:

“I will go and pick the strongest team which I think is going to win the game.

“Of course I will be taking into account the likes of Chris Cohen who had 90 minutes against Blackpool and who is only just coming back from a long-term injury.

“But I was brought up at this club to know that every competition you enter, you try and win it.

“I made it my business to watch Tranmere during pre-season and I know they are a very good side. We’ll have our work cut out if we go up there under-prepared.”

    TEAM NEWS:
Forest boss Stuart Pearce is expected to make limited changes from the side which beat Blackpool on Saturday but skipper Chris Cohen could be rested after playing 90 minutes on his return from injury.

Competition for places in the attacking third will be high with Jamie Paterson and Lars Veldwijk pushing for places while Jack Hobbs and Eric Lichaj may feature as they continue their respective comebacks.

Rovers manager Rob Edwards says he will make a number of alterations to his side following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with York as he looks to keep his squad fresh for the upcoming League Two campaign.

Defender Marcus Holness is set to miss out with a hamstring problem but Matt Gill could come back into the side after missing the opening game of the season with a knee injury.

    Random cup facts for tonight.

Birmingham have scored in 13 of their last 14 League Cup matches. They have averaged 2.5 goals per game in that time.

Both teams have scored in each of the last 10 matches between Brighton and Cheltenham.

    Burton Albion
The Brewers’ last six League Cups games have seen a total of 31 goals, an average of 5.2 per game.

Colchester United – The U’s have won only two of their last 11 away games in this competition (D1 L8).

Leeds United – United have won their last 14 League Cup games against teams from a lower division since losing to Sheffield United in 2002.

Millwall have lost to a lower-division side in the League Cup only once in their last nine matches.

Middlesbrough striker Lee Tomlin has scored seven times in his last five League Cup appearances.
They have only lost to lower-league opposition in the League Cup once in the last seven seasons. That defeat came against Accrington Stanley in the first round last year.

Peterborough have scored four or more goals in each of their last five first-round League Cup games.

    Sheffield Wednesday
Wednesday’s defeat to Rotherham in the opening round of this competition last year was the first time they had lost at that stage since 2008-09.
The Owls’ haven’t conceded in any of their last four League Cup games at Hillsborough.

    Stevenage
Boro have scored in every League Cup game they’ve ever played in (six in total), but have kept just one clean sheet

Nottingham Forest have lost only one of their previous seven first-round matches (W4, D2).

    Wolves
Wolves have conceded a combined seven goals without reply in their last two League Cup games.

    Northampton
Northampton have managed to record just one clean sheet in their last 27 League Cup matches away from home.

Gillingham – The Gills have gone 12 games in the League Cup without a clean sheet.

Bolton have only failed to progress beyond the League Cup first round once since the 1989-90 season – in 2000-01, when they were beaten 3-2 on aggregate by Macclesfield Town.

Sorry for the essay folks, off work and bored,a few stats of interest for tonight- team news crucial of course

GREETINGS FROM A NOT SO SUNNY CARDIFF

*Real Madrid had no fewer than 12 players at Brazil ’14.*

P.S.G/Monaco let a lot of people down at the weekend. No one mentioned the World Cup hangover that always has this slow start influence post World Cup/Euros.

    REAL MADRID Vs SEVILLA 19.45

    Sevilla DC @ 3.10

    Draw @ 5.25

The longer the game goes on, fitness will win the day. I am uncertain of the odds, trust me Sevilla to score after 70+ minutes is highly possible.

First Real Madrid scorer, Benzema @ 4.33

First Sevilla scorer Bacca @ 5, Aspas @ 8.00 (smaller bet)

I am duty bound to elect Benzema as I made a pretty penny from his exploits in Brazil.

Sevilla has played 5 friendlies, winning 4, losing 1. Sevilla has previous in this cup, having won it after winning the Europa League Final in Glasgow 2006. Sevilla has taken the pre-season serious, easing its players into fitness, with this game in mind. This is Sevilla’s biggest game of the season. Even without Rakitic, is more than capable of getting something from this game.

Madrid played 3 games in U.S.A’s International Champions Cup. Scoring 2 goals and losing all 3 games. With so many players at the World Cup we can’t be assessed on the 3 friendlies. What can be judged is the lack of playing time for the main Galacticos.

I met with a few Sevilla friends earlier,(not for too long), they reminded me of the tactics used against Benfica in the Europa Cup final. Sevilla’s game plan will be exactly that. Gameiro won’t play. Real Madrid will play an aggressive possession game, more likely 4-4-2. Sevilla fans reckon Madrid’s new players will pull the 4-4-2 out of shape, leaving it easy for Bacca to have an easy time to counter attack. Also Bacca has been well rested and looks in excellent shape. They don’t see a lot of goals.

To me, to play Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Navas first game in the Super Cup Final is a major risk to team formation and understanding.

If I hear any news that might assist choosing a bet I will try to post via my mobile.

I hope that I am wrong with my analysis and that Madrid brings back the Super Cup.

As a Colchester fan I can’t see us getting a result tonight, I watched our game v Oldham Saturday and we were good going forward but far to many errors at the back. We have also been notoriously poor in all cups In recent seasons. I feel we could score but am not confident enough for the BTTS, O2.5 is 17/20 and Charlton & O2.5 is 13/8 which I think is a good price considering how bad we are in the cups.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Could be totally wrong Tom as I’m not a fan. But I do live in the area, and I could tell you now, I reckon there are approximately no Charlton fans who will tell you they’ll score 3 tonight. It would take 3/1 at least to tempt me.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Chief, as you are fully aware any well known fighter put on an undercard is merely a PR exercise. You can show a few clips of him during any ad break to remind everyone he is in the wings waiting or you can simply give him 180 seconds maximum exposure in the ring. All the talk is simply to remind you Wilder will be there on Saturday night and anybody who knows their boxing will realise and lump on a first round stoppage. We are fortunate on here to have had several massive wins simply because we know what to look for and what to ignore.

Can you get sky sports 5 for free without taking broadband for existing sky sports customers

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Yeah Colin, just press the red button and its simple :)

  117. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Stubhoy, I’ve got 40% off tv package so won’t get free broadband deal as only 1 on each account at one time, I’ll probably give in to temptation in a few weeks and get SS thou, didn’t know itv were getting no CL or EL matches next season either

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Craig, I would imagine there will be plenty sites for live streaming of these games mate. I have Sky but not BT and won’t get it. BBC Alba covers all the really big important matches this season ;)

  118. Dee 10 years ago

Just to confirm if you already have sky sports and dont want the broadband you can still activate the sky sports 5 for free

  119. stubhoy 10 years ago

Colin just be aware that you aint signing up for broadband deal when activating SS5.Read small print.

The hearts game on Sunday is still at 10/11 on 365, still smashing it with any profit I get haha

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

BG, EVENS still available with Hills and Corals but that will go soon enough as the Hearts price is being noticed more and more elsewhere and being commented on as a decent bet.

  122. Tom Winner 10 years ago

Jack Fenn – Well in that case I’ll lump on the U’s! Joking but good to know that other clubs have fans who are also so pessimistic. I still think there could be goals, our defence is pretty poor at the best of the times.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

I imagine there will be goals. The result depends who Charlton play, a lot of ins and outs. If they go one down, the mood in the crowd certainly won’t be the best. Charlton are favourites but there’s no reason you can’t at least take it to extra time if things go your way.

  124. raaljaca 10 years ago

Re Gregs post earlier, if people want a head start on backing and winning on the goals markets they need to have a twitter account to get the best info available prior to any match. I had never used it until recently but the information accuracy is unmatched anywhere else on matchdays.

    • daz 10 years ago

Most club twitter accounts list their teams before anywhere else. Also look at local club newspapers like yesterday with the derby telegraph.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

daz, I couldn’t believe how up to date some of the stuff was but then again I normally think ITV News at Ten is great for up to date things ;)

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

Afternoon raal i trust u are in fine fettle today ? regarding twitter account is there a place you get all the overs or do you have to search individual games.

Where do you specifically go to get the goals market on twitter ?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

1plus2, if you get a twitter account then just ‘follow’ certain teams etc all the up to date info comes to you. I am new to it all but still going through it and can let you know soon enough. It is merely an extra tool for us all to have and use alongside Mr F’s and oddschecker to try to gain the upperhand on the bookies.

  125. William bailie 10 years ago

I’ll tell him that mate lol good doctors advice that! Sure he will agree .I think we are all up for the hearts makes us all $$$$ campaign on Sunday :)

  126. Derek 10 years ago

What do u go on raal pal when u got twitter for football info

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Derek, the various teams sites mate. Can get updates on teams etc within an hour of kick off and if you cross reference that with the match betting on oddschecker it can be a brilliant guide. I am not a computer person mate but it is as simple to use as Mr F’s and even gives you up to date alerts straight to your own account. We can never have to much info! Mr F’s, twitter, oddschecker more the merrier.

  127. BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Cheers for the heads up raal, might drop a couple quid at both ;)

  128. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Anyone who doesn’t have an account at Paddy Power. New accounts can get these odds on PL outrights:

    Chelsea- 15/2
    Manchester City- 9/1
    Manchester United- 16/1
    Arsenal- 20/1
    Liverpool- 30/1

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jack, best bet would be to back them all for a guaranteed profit. I think Chelsea will win title but now under 2-1 which is rubbish so looking at them and Liverpool each way. Would consider Man Utd if they signed a couple of world-class defenders.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Yes, limited to one an account though. But as I’ve said before, for the first time since 2010, I do think we will win it this season. I think Liverpool will actually finish 5th, which I hope isn’t the case.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Jack, I think it will be really tight between the top five. Suarez is of course a loss but some decent players have been bought.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Of course, I’m not saying that at all. I just feel we will have an edge. My opinion United, Liverpool and Arsenal will be fighting for 3rd and 4th come the last couple of games.

  129. Dee 10 years ago

Raal Re: Hearts are you confident with the straight win or Double chance

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

    Czech cup game 15:30 KO

Prostejov (3. liga) vs. Slovacko(Czech Liga)

Have done some research on this match. Slovacko is making plenty of changes according to their website. They will be giving players a change to show that they should be playing in the first team. Also checked Prostejov cup matches from earlier years. Both teams scored in all of them.

Small bet on both teams to score 9/10 at the moment wil wait for evens.

  131. Dee 10 years ago

Iv placed on the straight win – and would love to double with Wilder if he is at 5/4 like you said that could be a touch over 7/2 but we are just waiting on that market to open up ;)

  132. daz 10 years ago

Twitter (enter teams name in twitter like derby was entered derby fc twitter in the search box.Add to this look for their local evening newspaper online. Finally if the team is mostly in blue on oddschecker then it is certainly getting well backed.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

daz, also got to say teamtalk site Greg mentioned earlier is brilliant for match previews and team news.

  133. ryan allan 10 years ago

raaljaca…I have followed your tips for months and you are a very good tipster I have to say and I agree with you completely about Wilder winning by KO in the first round (although it is not quite the banker you make it out to be) and I would expect pretty low odds on the first round KO in this fight but your idea that he is going to unify the division seems a bit excitable. Who has this Wilder fought? Well when Audley Harrison, Malik Scott and Sergei Liakhovic are the only “names” on your record then it is fair to say he is thoroughly untested.

Wilder has not fought anyone in the top 40 and when you consider how weak this division is, that is a shocking stat given he has 30 fights under his belt. Wilder is the most protected fighter in boxing and I think any fight against the likes of Fury, Stiverne, Perez, Chisora, Pulev and of course the champ would see Wilder come unstuck. Maybe you will disagree but if his promoters thought he was the real deal, why have they not put him in a halfway competitive fight yet?

While Wilder clearly has power, he has never fought anyone with a heartbeat and I think when he finally does step it up, we are likely to see him fall back from where he came from. Reminds me a lot of Michael Grant back in the day and we know what happened to him.

America is desperate for a HW champ and Wilder looks the most likely and marketable but the way you go on about him seems somewhat naive given the absolute paucity of his opponents.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

ryan, I would not disagree with anything you say mate but I base my opinions on what I know and read. I have several good friends closely associated with the fight game and Wilder is held in high regard from what he has shown both in fights and sparring. He does have to be properly tested but so did every other great fighter at that stage of their career. Time will tell mate but I am happy to go along with backing both himself and Joshua against these calibre of opponents at present.

  134. BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

    Bristol City – Oxford City » J. Emmanuel-Thomas to score @ 13/8 [NAP]

I really like this bet. Bristol will shuffle their squad and Emmanuel-Thomas is likely to be involved. He has proved that he is able to score a goal, with 15 goals last season. He scored 9/15 (60%) goals at the Ashton Gate Stadium last season, and he might do it again tonight.

    • BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

Forgot to say he’s on a massive 5/1 to score first.

  135. Kev_Tranmere 10 years ago

Teanmere were absolutely appalling on Saturday and i mean we were Conference North level. I know it was first game of season etc but there will not be much improvement tonight as we were really that poor and its gonna take a while to sort us out regardless of Palios taking over.

Forest should do us comfortably tonight, Forest Reserves should do us comfortably too but Forest at 4/6 is a steal and -1 looks a decent bet too but this is the Carling cup afterall and 4/6 is a bit of a gift alone so stick with that for an easy safe profit.
Throw Forest Green and Real Madrid in the mix for a nice 3/1 treble.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Kev_Tranmere, thanks to you and other fans who have put up news and thoughts on certain teams – it’s been a big help as usual.

  136. Dee 10 years ago

  139. Johnny J 10 years ago

Raal you say team alerts to your phone from where the team own website? Would that include conference sides etc?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Alerts to your own twitter account but just looking at it all and trying to fully understand it Johnny. Asked a couple of mates who are extremely computer literate to explain it all to me in an ‘idiot’ type of way and will let you know as soon as I do.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, you can also simply search on google for a club twitter account if you want a particular team and you don’t need a twitter account of your own but of course you won’t get the alerts.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Thanks Mr F. Info goldmines out there.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, you can’t do too much research as you say but time always kills me. Right off to the Record – 3 nights on then 4 off so guess which I’m looking forward to more. Good luck with everyone’s bets tonight but keep stakes low. Will be watching the Real Madrid game and hoping they live up to their billing.

    Hello guys

Having worked my hump off for 6 hours researching the capital one cup fixtures assessing teams on a formula I have come up with and trying to see if its accurate based on a whole host of factors for success in the competition goals for and against head to heads and all kinds. I gave them a subsequent mark out of 25 and came up with what I hope a feel are a good set of tips for this evening.

    Main Bet:
    Btts to score double
    Chesterfield v Huddesfield (19)
    Brighton v Cheltenham (18)
    Btts pays 2/1 with Bet365

    Small stakes bet:
    Over 2.5 Goals Treble:
    Plymouth v Leyton Orient (17)
    Port Vale v Hartlepool (17)
    Morecambe v Bradford (16)
    Treble Pays 5.84/1 with Bet365

I may have a anytime scorer bet after more research on that prior to kick off when I have more team news available. I hope this trial will prove successful as II have been trying to work out a formula for some time as I previously stated the btts is the main bet and the second bet is a small stakes bet. Best of luck guys as always :-)

Sorry wrong email mr f feel free to delete the one above as It doesn’t have my avatar Keep this post thank you

  148. ryan allan 10 years ago

fair enough raal, time will tell with Wilder and he definitely hits hard but it just bothers me that the man has a title shot upcoming and has done absolutely nothing whatsoever to merit one. I would not back him to beat Joshua (who has fought far stiffer opponents by comparison at this early point in his career) or even Fury who has more talent than people like to assume.

But yeah, if Wilder is anything above evens to ko Gaverne in the first round then it could be as close to free money as you might find.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

ryan, bottom line is it is good for boxing to even have somebody ‘potentially’ great at this stage.

  149. DannyT 10 years ago

Wolves should be a sound bet for tomorrow. As expected they are short at 4/9 for the win.

Jackett has already indicated that he will field a strong team for the clash against league 2 opponents Northampton.

I can see us scoring two or 3 tommorrow against Northampton so will be wolves and over 2.5mg at 1/1

    BUSINESSMAN’S BETS

    ***TREBLE***

» FOREST GREEN ROVERS – CHESTER 1 (GREGG)
    » BRISTOL CITY – OXFORD 1
» PLYMOUTH – LEYTON ORIENT | LEYTON TO WIN AT LEAST ONE HALF (UNIBET)

    PAYS 4,22 @ UNIBET

    **Crawley – Ipswich HT Draw @ 2,05 UNIBET **

I think this one will be a close game. Crawley have lost important players imo and are less strong than last season. For this match, Captain Josh Simpson is out. Matt Harrold & Gavin Tomlin, both forwards, are also out, so Izale McLeod, who scored the winning goal in the last game, is expected to start upfront.
Ipswich, as mentioned earlier, are without 10 players. They will use this game to give their youth the opportunity to make their first minutes.
Crawley vs Ipswich B. I expect a close game, because Crawley lacks goalscorers imo. McLeod knows how to score a goal, but he won’t score 15 goals in a season, neither does Harrold or Tomlin. Ipswich, without so many important players, will also struggle to find the net. Therefore, I think there won’t be a goal before halftime, and maybe, if I’m wrong, I hope there will be a goal for both sides.

*Bristol City – Oxford City » J. Emmanuel-Thomas to score*

Evening guys, I will be watching the Super cup tonight and have posted my best bet on that game last night. The Capital one cup is a minefield so I have left that alone with team news being absolutely crucial. Instead I am on two bets in the conference premier, as well as my super cup bet.

Forest Green Rovers take on Chester tonight and have a host of attacking options in James Norwood and the experienced duo of Jon Parkin and Lee Hughes, and it is the latter named I want to be with tonight. He scored the only goal in a away win at Southport at the weekend and he scored twice in this fixture last season. He is 29/20 Betvictor.

My other selection comes from the Working – Dartford game. Dartford were allowed back into the conference in June so they have not had a lot of time to get a strong squad together. They suffered a 2-1 loss to Wrexham and now travel to Working who will be full of confidence having won at Alfreton. They only lost 4 times at home last season and won this fixture 3-0. The player I want to be with here is Scott Rendell. He scored 12 in 19 last season including in this fixture and is up and running after a brace at the weekend. He is 6/5 Bet365

A double on the above pays just over 4/1 Betvictor

    HUGHES TO SCORE 29/20
    RENDELL TO SCORE 6/5

Good luck if your having a bet

Real Madrid -1 may be one of the best bets you’ll see all season. The starting XI is about as strong as they could have selected and the additions of Kroos and James makes them more formidable than last year, and without question the best club team in the world at present.

£50 DOUBLE on Halifax and Real Madrid.

Absolutely pathetic service yet again from a so called bookmaker. They bullsh*t us in the papers about accepting large wagers yet do not have the guts to take us on at small prices to decent stakes. Corals you are a joke.

    Last tip for tonight.

Have done my research for the Icelandic games tonight and think this double has a really good chance.

    Iceland 2. deild 20:00 KO

    Grotta – Aegir home win

first place against seventh place. Grotta on a 6 game win streak and have won last 3 h2h games. Aegir on a bad run, they lost to Njardvik last weekend who are in last place.

Völsungur – Fjardabyggd away win. Fjarda won meeting earlier this season 2-0 and are unbeaten in eleven games winning eight of them. Völsungur haven’t won in four games.

    eleventh place against second place.

    Grotta win and Fjardabyggd win
    double pays 0.87/1

  262. Hamish75 10 years ago

Hi lads can anyone confirm lee wallace leaving the mighty blues for brighton

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Hamish75, the bid if it’s been made matches the valuation but raaljaca says he won’t go to Brighton. No confirmation from anyone official.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Really thought he was worth more Mr F but he has regressed lately under McCoist.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Hamish, if you check back on here, raaljaca the ‘exclusive story breaker’ posted on it earlier! £600,000 offer approx but he will not go down there simply because his Mrs will not let him. She wants him to stay at Ibrox if not play back in Edinburgh but the North of England would be the furthest he would move too. I know Lee and his family and mates and he does not wear the trousers at home ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, interesting and Gers desperate for the cash too.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

I think if you could make a player leave he would be gone Mr F but the fact a price has been banded around would probably work in Rangers favour now as no doubt others will be interested.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, yeah they can’t make him go to Brighton as you say.

  267. Monsieur Maurice 10 years ago

    **WON**

    Results:

    Angers – Nimes: 2-1
    Orleans – Auxerre: 1-1
    Nancy – Le Havre: 2-1

    Halifax v Southport

The fortunes home and away of these clubs couldn’t be more contrasting! Step forward Halifax, battled at the top end of the league last season and were terrific at home! They lost just once at home all season! Southport were towards the bottom of the legaue mainly because their away form was horrendous! They won just one of their 23 away games! I don’t see that changing tonight!

    Back Halifax 4/7

    2-1 WIN :)

    Forest Green v Chester

An absolute disaster opening game for the visitors on Saturday! They were hammered 5-0 at home to barnet and from what I’ve seen they have some problems! Fancy forest green who are decent at home to edge this!

  301. cooldude 10 years ago

Man Utd played 6 preseason and unbeaten in all. A great prep and Fellaini actually actually scored. All things considered this season should be a massive improvement on last.

  302. craigyboy 10 years ago

Apparently Wolves had 3 goals disallowed first half. How legit that is and how controversial they were will be interesting.
Only positive for us Wolves fans is that it might shake up the manager and board to get a new GK, defender and centre forward in.

    Gentlemen,

a pleasure to be on the site

Terrific results from some careful research.

Finished the evening in profit thanks to you two gents. Thank you both very much

Keep studying Danny. My double was done because Hednesford and Leamington have never failed to score against each other and Tamworth and Gloucester was simply because Gloucester score and concede in every match including friendlies. Makes 15/8 look a steal mate.

      Hey mate,

Know this wasn’t aimed for me, but I don’t want you not to get a reply and I think everyone will agree.
Mr F, Raal and Greg Browning have way more winners than they do losers.
Shaun and Frank are unbelievable if you want MLS tips.
I personally haven’t followed much other than that, but haven’t been here long.

If your still in the green then well done William but I bet most people aren’t overall. The bookies always win mate- they are the big boys. Whoever took the first wager in history is a bl**dy genius. Very few people will make money from gambling that’s my opinion, if they do they will eventually give it all back.

@ Shaun Tanner . Mate I’m undoubtedly in the red long term , my post was simply flagging up the process through which I do my betting now and how guys like Greg Mr F Raal and many others have changed how I bet and what I bet on for example goals rather than W/D/W. I doubt I’ll end up beating the old enemy however I do now feel that with the continued assistance of these guys that for once I have a fighting chance ! :)

    Drum Roll pls…….. :)

    BTTS DOUBLE @ 2/1 LOST :( :(

    WREXHAM V GATESHEAD

    RESULT DOUBLE @ 1.7 WIN :) :)

    BROMLEY TO WIN V WHITEHAWK

FOREST GREEN TO WIN V CHESTER

    GOOD LUCK & NAMASTE

Think was a tad unlucky with the btts double 5 goals in both matches would have expected wrexham to get at least 1 after fielding a strong side tonite and having good record against gateshead. Fancied barnet to get a game tonite against a decent b.r side

Delighted with the win double thats was more or less nailed on and made up for the btts loss so ONWARDS to the wknd!!

William- I doubt whether anyone bar a handful (possibly) have made any money on here since I’ve been visiting. I certainly haven’t and I’ve had a couple of big winners. I don’t believe this beat the bookies dribble- they always win in the end.

I bet you people bet a lot more than what they post on the site.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Shaun, I know for a fact bookies don’t always win but 95 per cent of people lose because they’re not disciplined enough. Come back on when you’re feeling better.

    BUSINESSMAN’S BETS

    ***TREBLE***

    » FOREST GREEN ROVERS – CHESTER 1 (GREGG) |WON|
    » BRISTOL CITY – OXFORD 1 |LOST|
» PLYMOUTH – LEYTON ORIENT | LEYTON TO WIN AT LEAST ONE HALF (Unibet) |WON|

    PAYS 4,22 @ Unibet

    **Crawley – Ipswich HT Draw @ 2,05 Unibet ** |WON|

Emmanuel-Thomas to score* |LOST|

GL with your bets all, I’m off to the gym.

  344. Alty Adam 10 years ago

I’m still waiting on Willy Hill to pay out on my Forrest Green bet. 4/5 winning bets tonight all above even so trebled my £50. It’s awful betting against your own team though, feel like Barry Backstabious.

Agree with you Shaun that bookies always win but if we take it nice and slowly and not go overboard with stakes and don’t chase loses as there’s always another day then we’ve got a chance

  345. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

  348. BusinessmanNL 10 years ago

    ABC RN – PORTUGUESA SP 1 | 2,00 @ Bet365.

“Again ABC played better than opponent but lost. I’m talking about a ABC 1×2 Vasco last saturday. Vasco’s goalkeeper was best man of the match. Vasco got 5 yellow cards and ABC just one.

ABC will repeat same line up. They have an amazing right back: Renato and its 2 forwards are good players, still not in chemistry but both improved their position inside 4 lines: João Paulo and Rodrigo Silva. And still better: best player Denis Marques must enter in second half as he did last match. Daniel Amora and Rogerinho are also regular midfield players.

On the other hand, Portuguesa’s GK was best away side man when they lost 3×1 against Luverdense last round. Portuguesa will line up a young forward of sub 20 team against ABC and Dinelson in midfield, a good player many years ago but who remained around 3 years without play football. He played second division of Sao Paulo state this year. It means: Portuguesa is trying to change as they are playing a poor football. Not chemistry at all. A mystery. Maybe at home it could work but away it seems very hard.

I’m expecting best quality of players and better chemistry of home side will be a key aspect to ABC leave pitch with 3 points.”

Should be safe as I’m not on them. I won’t bet until this weekend, so GL.

What does everyone think of Bayern Munich in German Super Cup tomorrow?

Was very surprised to see them at 6/5, was expecting odds on.

After Dortmund got humped by Liverpool at weekend (friendly or not), it makes me fancy Munich all the more.

Possible contender for the Super Single, MrF?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Roberto, I haven’t studied it yet but did notice the bigger than expected price.

  353. xA 10 years ago

Well I’ve won a lot and lost a lot from the bookies, but the loosing is down to my own stupidness going overboard, overall I’m up about £500 since the World Cup and that’s from £10 and £5 stakes, not a lot I know but slowly and surely building a pot

I won substantially more than that early on in the year by gambling in a risky way but lost it all the same way

Moral of the story, we can beat the bookies, patience, research and level stakes are key though, and a bit of luck ofcourse lol

Good win for Leeds tonight. Just want to say – yet another exceptional performance by Lewis Cook, and at only 17 he has the world at his feet. Probably abit to good & ahead of our players at times. Also Noël Hunt… Well let’s just say i have never ever been one for slagging of players but he was totally and utterly abysmal!!!!

    Alright, last one for today:

    10:30 CEST | Persik Kediri-Persita Tangerang 1 @ 5/6 WilliamHill

No special news about this…it’s more or less a “personal” bet according to how I have seen the 2 teams playing.

Persik had a bad start of the season but managed to get 2-3 players and bounced back having 4 consecutive wins at home that has been transformed to a fortress after the first two defeats they suffered. Apart from Persijap the 3 other wins were against much stronger teams than their upcoming opponent (Persija, Barito and Sriwijaya) and they were totally deserved. The two last ones were quite emphatic as well with the hosts demolishing Barito with 4-1 and Sriwijaya with 5-1. To get an idea when Persita played against those 3 teams they didn’t manage to win any of the matches at home (1-1 with Sri, 0-4 with Persija and 1-2 with Barito).

The visitors have not been doing so well lately. Its a team with not so much money and things are not getting better not playing their matches at home (low attendance, not much money from tickets) but in a neutral venue. They had two back to back wins against Persijap but ok Persijap is the worst team in the league and has been left with half the squad so it was normal. I don’t like their new coach (that replace Iurie that went to Persepam) that demanded for transfers of experienced players but after the transfer period ended (at least then it was when his statements were shown on the press). They have issues in defense and offense so I doubt they will be able to resist the hosts that will attack from early on pushed by their fans that will be located close to the field.

Persik may be a newly promoted team but it is one of the most historic ones in the country having even won the title in the past (and played well in AFC when having Christian Gonzales as a striker) and to me they will win this match and the future one against Gresik and seal their presence in the league for next season as well. They have money in general (it is rumored that they “bought” the match against Persija that needed the money) and they have good referee decisions when at home (hitting quite a few penalties..usual phenomenon here in Indonesia). Persita has a tough schedule till the end and it is high probable that they won’t get to win a single point in the matches left. Their coach told that they don’t have a certain target for this match so not to stress his players!!!

    Now, off to bed. Goodnight!

  362. 1plus2 10 years ago

Unfortunately most people lose at gambling because they have no discipline or patience.

And i would hazard a guess that most will not be happy with betting where the outcome is only a few pounds winning per bet.

The big appeal to most that bet is getting that half decent win and they will chase it till the cows come home and then lose it and start again completing a full circle most of the time.

Gambling for most is a mugs game that’s the nature of gambling because the house mostly always wins.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

1plus2, anyone who wants to make a living from gambling can but there are terms and conditions. Here are three. 1. You need to start with a big betting bank. 2. You need to treat it as a full-time job and be willing to spend 8-10 hours research, covering, backing and laying, whatever it takes. Think of it this way – could you win £20 an hour which is equivalent to £100 on a 1-5 shot every hour? Multiply that by 10 and it’s £200 a day. Sure, you’ll lose some but you’ll mainly win. 3. Do only short-priced singles.

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

Your preaching to the converted Mr F in regards to the points above the point is most punters do not have the big betting bank or the 8-10 hours a day to do the research.

I take it working for the Record you will have access to opta stats and such things ?

Gambling is a precarious path trod by the masses and the masses have not got what you point out in your comment unfortunately.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

1plus2, yeah I have access to all sorts but anyone if they have the time can do the work. Gambling is an illness for some, it’s a job for a minority but for most it’s fun and if you can discipline yourself to having a betting bank or spending only spare cash and what you can afford to lose it’s absolutely fine.

  363. Matty p 10 years ago

Sorry Shaun I have to disagree with you, while I think it’s pretty difficult to make a living from gambling I don’t think it’s that hard to not lose to the bookies. There is so much information on this site to educate us how to gamble successfully that there’s no excuse for losing on a regular basis. The main reason we lose is lack of discipline. If we stick to what we know ie. teams and leagues we’re familiar with or have thoroughly researched, maintain a level staking plan and focus on the markets the bookies themselves find difficult to price, 6 out of 10 winners is all we need to stay ahead. Greg seems to be a very good example of this theory, he definitely posts more winners than losers and at level stakes he’ll be in profit for sure. Raal too, I can’t see him being in the red, plus as we’ve all seen he hammers the bookies with increased stakes when he’s sure he’s gonna win and we’ve seen that for ourselves with the tips he’s posted on here.
Given the amount of research you put in and considering you mainly bet on the goals markets, which are the most profitable, I’m really surprised you’re not in profit Shaun.

  364. Craig Alves 10 years ago

I had given up on the football earlier and put a film on, just checked my bet365 account and £10.50 in my account from the £2 trixie put up earlier thanks to late late goals at Reading :)

  369. Capone31 10 years ago

Jb, Sky fantasy is crap compared to the proper Premier Lge one

  370. Andy 10 years ago

    INPLAY ABC to WIN

  371. jb 10 years ago

Capone a think the premier league one is a bit to indepth there is no need to score points on some of the things they do

  372. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

I’m really being put off of a treble of
    Sheffield United
    Cardiff
    Bayern Munich
simply because 6.5/1 seems far too good to be true and actually come in :/

  373. Harpreet 10 years ago

    :-)

Raal Greg thank you all …. lol

Can’t wait for the weekend now….Best thing I suggest for people losing is simply only bet on what RAAL…MR FIX IT….& GREG suggest.

Yes you will lose however you will WIN more then you lose.

Hope we all feel happy….Christmas is here soon so cheer up guys x

  374. jb 10 years ago

Yeah know what you mean craig. I’m in three league just using the one team though couldnt look after 2 like a drink mysel

  375. jb 10 years ago

Whats penguins league ? I will join that

  376. Craig Alves 10 years ago

JB I’m already in on 1 wi SS for ££ or I would’ve joined but will join penguins one this week for bit of fun, it’s hard enough following 1 never mind 2 and if you miss weeks where you’re out for wknd etc that can totally screw the whole season not making captain changes and keeping injured players

  377. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Capone I think SS is better than the Premier League and sun ones

  378. Whitestar 10 years ago

I wish this site had diffrent format so it was easier to find things. I work daft shifts tue-fri and find it hard to keep up with anything and dont have the time to scroll through comments. What happened to the plans for new site mr fix it ?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

jb, site changes are progressing as planned.

  381. Dg 10 years ago

Mr F . Do you here from our old friends Sly and Bounty Punter?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Mr F, not Sly but I’m in touch with Bounty Punter. He’s skinning bookies as usual and when the site changes we’ll see if we can get him on board – but he won’t come cheap.

  382. Smiler 10 years ago

Good tippin again Raal and Greg, keep an eye on all arbroath league games for both teams to score our defence not brill but we will score at least once every game forcing the opposition to equalise, good luck everyone ,am off to Portugal tomorrow 6days golfing need to find one of those dodgy English bars that take a bet over the bar !

  383. Andy 10 years ago

Ghana women inplay to win get on this NOW

  384. jb 10 years ago

Whats as planned ? Not been on much lately ?

  385. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Villa Dilmine v Estudiantes Caeseros is HT but over 0.5 is paying 4/7 form and H2H suggest there’ll be at least 1 goal so I’m taking a chance on Estudiantes Caeseros to score in 2nd half at 6/4, they’ve scored 2, 3 & 1 in their last 3 away games and VD last home clean sheet came 10 games ago.

Estudiantes Caeseros to score in 2nd half 6/4

  386. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Now it’s 13/8 after no game play :(

  387. Whitestar 10 years ago

Gone for another double, North Korea women Draw No Bet and Ghana women win @ 2.40

    Good luck if you follow

Cheers craig i thought it was a ss 1 was just gonna add my team i had created. Dont think i will b making another 1 up gonna concentrate on my money team. Got a good record on these won past 2 world cup mates 1s I played in never played full season for ££ though

  390. Wato 10 years ago

    I’m on Ghana ;)

  391. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Matty p- I respect ur opinions mate and you have some good points but how many people actually follow this guide? I imagine its a small % and while that % is in the bookies favour they will always win. While i wont deny people do beat them the fact is the majority wont. The bookies are a business at the end of the day and from the figures Ive saw are turning over more and more profit each year, hence why we are getting more of these independent ones joted around, they want some of that doh! Whos giving it all to them? Mugs like me.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Shaun, you used the word “mug” and there are plenty of mug punters. But I know if you want to make a profit you can – although it can be less fun if that’s makes sense because everyone likes a daft bet now and then.

  392. PA 10 years ago

MrF if you have plans to sign up more good tipsters make sure you get Raal on the payroll! (If he already isn’t). His winners today alone speak for itself. And i would happily pay a decent subscription if you had to pay for these people

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Im going to ask 365 to pay it as part of my loyalty bonus! :-D

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

PA, no plans to put anyone else on the payroll at the moment – developing the site’s costing a bomb. However, we may do a mutually beneficial deal with Bounty Punter and there will be incentives for the likes of raaljaca and Greg Browning to stay involved.

  393. Skippy 10 years ago

Discipline and research whether your betting for fun or trying to make a living is deffo the name of the game, it’s so easy to have a good win and give it all back to the bookies but from coming on this site for so long now the penny has finally dropped and from picking and choosing my own bets and picking and choosing which of Greg and Raals bets to follow (which is most of them) I am finally starting to win a lot more than I loose. Also big shout to raal with your 25/1 to winner been staying of the racing thread so missed tht one :(

  394. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

I think from all my time here Brazilian football has got to be one of the hardest countries to bet on.

    • Yugo 10 years ago

      Good shout Craig!
Yeah Shaun the stats don’t seem to count for much at times!

  395. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

The bookies will always be one step ahead and will beat the majority. How else would they make their money otherwise?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Shaun, that’s correct but we don’t need to be in the majority do we? Goodnight.

WINNER :) scored in 65th min and just missed a pen too

  397. Wato 10 years ago

Just watched the first half highlights of the Ghana women’s game and it’s amazing how they are not winning and probably by at least a couple of goals. Finland’s keeper looks to have no clue. If Ghana dont score and win the second half I may have to throw my new HTC through the tv lol

Oh plus one of the lineswomen is very hot lol

  398. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Cheers Yugo, crazy odds for over 0.5 at ht giving previous games that’s why I was wary of going for that but glad EC got the goal :)

  399. Wato 10 years ago

And of course Finland go and score 4 mins into the 2nd half :(

  400. Craig Alves 10 years ago

Small stake on Ghana RT5 15/2 1-3 down but big price as they’ll ve pressing for equaliser

  401. Craig Alves 10 years ago

    Ghana RT5 15 / 2 WINS :) Only £2 on it but still a decent winner

  402. cooldude 10 years ago

Shaun, surprised at your comments today. Ok the majority of punters are losers but quote “those who make money will eventually give it all back”? I can never see Greg, Raal, Mr F, John b, and a few others ever giving back their betting banks. And with all the winners you normally post I thought you would be minted :)

  403. Wato 10 years ago

The girls did it scoring the winner 5 mins from time I’m off to dream about the lineswoman lol

Looking forward to more no doubt successful tips tomorrow gents

  408. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

I’m going to put my opinion here, because I doubt anyone wants to see it all going over to the next thread.
Shaun is correct, the majority do lose to the bookies through lack of discipline or whatever other means.
However, I was slightly in the red when I came here, my problem being, for me there is an element of fun in gambling and I can’t keep off the odd ‘bored bet’ even if there is a tiny bit of research. I’ve learnt so much from everyone on this site, and with the great tips that do come from everyone regardless if some are a lot more consistent, I’m back on level terms. Just because the majority lose, we don’t have to. We should hope it’s the case, because as long as the majority are backing losers, we get better odds.

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Jack- just read your post mate. I’m very pleased for you if that’s the case, I really am. Everyone seems to be doing so well I’m just wondering where I’m going wrong? The only bets I take I put up every time so I’m not doing anything extra… I just don’t know bud. :(

  417. pspud 10 years ago

Ohhaye dallas.wat would b the best way to cover shaun think btts no will b short

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Hi mate. Real Salt Lake BTTS NO is 1/6. Best thing you could hope for is Tijuana to score first and early. Being the away team and under dogs it may make the price slightly bigger.

  418. pspud 10 years ago

Btts no is 1/6 yes 4/1 just under 20%cashout

  419. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Its always worth thinking about the cash out. There looks like there’s been shots for both sides but more to Real. I’m not sure what side Real have out but they are pretty good in the MLS at home. Obviously it’s a totally game. If your in profit anyway you could always put some of that on a BTTS single or leave it altogether. Profits profit as they say.

  420. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Dallas match- Dallas to qualify 4/6 & Dallas 1st goal in extra time 6/4- smaller bet.

  421. Shaun tanner 10 years ago
