TopTips_Betfred

IT wasn't a great weekend but the betting bank didn't take a huge dent with minimum stakes advised.

Aberdeen let down the Super Single as they failed to turn up against Dundee United while Monaco beat the Daily Double after conceding a late winner at home to Lorient despite equalising through sub Radamel Falcao.

Hearts saved the day for many punters and I'm glad I sided with raaljaca by predicting them not to lose at Ibrox.

The Championship battle looks a fascinating one and while Rangers were pushed out after their defeat they are still odds-on jollies with bookies.

Anyway we move on to Monday which is fairly quiet ahead of a huge weekend. The Capital One Cup kicks off with Carlisle v Derby and you to fancy the Championship aside if they put out a strong side and that's the key.

There are a couple of Conference games too and matches from around Europe including Jong Ajax v Telstar in the Jupiler League and again it's vital to find out how strong the Jong team are.

I was going to Derby and Ajax team news but the work has been done for me by the likes of Nathan and whitestar. Derby boss Steve McClaren says he'll field a strong side and while he's bound to tinker with the line-up that beat Rotherham he has plenty of firepower and at this stage of the season players will be looking to impress.

Derby were Championship top scorers last season while Carlisle have won just one in 16 so I'm taking County but they've already been cut from 5-6 to a best 4-6.

Jong Ajax have, according to whitestar and others, have several Ajax first-team players in their squad for a home match with Telstar and as we learned from last season the reserve teams in the lower league are often boosted by stars from the senior team especially if they're short of match fitness.

So for the Daily Double take Derby and Jong Ajax and both should win if the team news is close to being correct.

I'm also happy to take a chance on Derby -1 at 6-4 with bet365 and that will be my Super Single. Other bets to consider are over 2.5 goals in the game at 5-6 at boylesports or over 1.5 Derby goals at 3-4 with boylesports.

Super Single

Derby -1 (7.45pm)
(6-4, bet365)

Daily Double

Derby (7.45pm)

Jong Ajax (7pm)

    Double for Tuesday and Wednesday

Real Madrid to Lift Uefa Super cup 1/6
Bayern Munich to lift German super cup 8/13

    Total odds 1.88 at Paddypower

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Barry, I’ve read Real are planning to start Bale, Ronaldo and Rodriguez – some spectacle for the Cardiff public. Very short price on Real though but could be a few goals with that lot on show.

    • Barry Conway 10 years ago

Yes Short price for sure. Decent price on Munich to lift the super cup at 8/13 or 5/4 to win in 90 minutes. Dortmund were very bad against Liverpool today so I think Munich will beat them.

    • bad jasper 10 years ago

that wasn’t dortmunds full side today.
      last 2 super cups
      2012 Dortmund 1 Bayern 2
      2013 Dortmund 4 Bayern 2
2014 btts and overs maybe ??????

    • Barry Conway 10 years ago

In 2014 someone has to win also and I think Bayern Munich will. I suggested back to lift the cup. It could go to extra time.

A break might do us some good, Mr F. I stuck with small stakes this weekend but it was still a disaster! Good luck to anyone who has a bet today.

looking forward to Tuesdays game of mk dons v afc Wimbledon.
we all know the story behind these 2, they played here in the fa cup in December 2012 with the identity stealers beating Wimbledon 2-1 and this could be a similar story.
dons won 4-2 on Saturday and Wimbledon drew 2-2, so they are in goalscoring form.
unfortunately the stats point to a mk win as Wimbledon have not made it past round one before, and mk have played lower league teams 3 times before and won them all.

    btts 17-20 Ladbrokes
btts and win mk dons 27-10 Ladbrokes
btts and over 2.5 match goals 6-5

Mr f not betting related but do you know who has the credit for the fa cup final win against Liverpool is it mk dons or afc Wimbledon ? I can’t work out what would be fair

    • bad jasper 10 years ago

probably the identity stealers as they stole wimbledons history, but not their soul.
as far as I am concerned it should belong to Wimbledon.
I don’t think any of the fa cup winning team would like their names associated with Milton keynes

Bad jasper I agree. I remember at the time thinking it was wrong to up root a club from the local people and stick it miles away. I think the fa cup should belong to Wimbledon . I also wish dave beasant had leg that pen in but that’s my bias lol

I posted my picks earlier in yesterday’s thread but found some time for write ups. Sorry they are short, games start in less than 10 min. Best of luck if you play them.

    MLS notes for tonights picks
Found some time to write up my plays. Games start soon so good luck.

Vancouver v Kansas City over 2.5

Vancouver is slightly over 54% over 2.5 in all games this season but this is largely in part due to their home record where they have gone over 2.5 in 8 of their 10 home games (6 of them over 3.5) with their home matches averaging 3.3 gpg.  Vancouver has scored 2 or more in 6 of their 10 home games has kept only 2 home clean sheets and has conceded 2 goals in half their home matches.

Vancouver is also 10-2 over 2.5 in their last 12 v top 6 teams.

Under 2.5 is 6-2 overall in their last 8 games but again, I go back to their home form where they have played 2 straight overs, a 2-2 draw v Dallas and a 3-1 loss to Chivas.

Kansas City has played 11 road games and averaged 2.45 gpg in their matches but only has 3 clean sheets on the road this season and face a Vancouver team that has scored in all but 1 of their home games.

KC is 4-1 “over ” 2.5 in their last 5 overall, which included 4 straight 2-1 wins and a 1-1 home draw v Philadelphia in their last match. They have played 3 straight over on the road, scoring 2 goals in each.

Vancouver averages 16 attempts at goal at home, KC 13 on the road. Van concedes an average of 10.2 shots at home and KC 11.6 on road.

    Chicago v NY over 2.5

Over 2.5 is 8-2 in Chicago’s last 10 home games v top half teams with 5 of those seeing 5 or more. An interesting tidbit is that NY has conceded first in 8 of their last 9 away v bottom 6 clubs.

NY is 5-3 over 2.5 in their last 8 games overall with only 1 clean sheet in that span. NY has only 2 clean sheets in 12 road games and has scored in all but two. 2 of their last 3 on the road have seen 4 combined goals.

Chicago has played 12 home games and has only one clean sheet and failed to score only once, both coming in a 0-0 draw. Other than that BTTS is 11-1 in their 12 at home.

In this game, like many of their other home games I expect both to score again but I don’t see it ending at just 1-1.

The over is 5-3 in the last 8 head to head meetings with their last match featuring 9 total goals. While we won’t likely see that many we should see enough to cash this ticket.

Premier League Top Goalscorer Paddy Power Special

Wayne Rooney 12/1 EW (1,2,3,4 places)

£2 every time he scores, looks likely he’ll be named captain so should figure heavily in LVGs plans and takes PKs.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

DeAndre, of course he will figure heavily, and if he has one of his better seasons, he could well finish in the top four scorers.
However he only takes penalties when van Persie isn’t on the pitch. Although van Persie is injury prone so he could well end up taking them! :)

  11. bad jasper 10 years ago

as a regular watcher of the welsh premier league, which is crap, tns will win it for the 4th straight year.
,there is only airbus who can get near them over the season and a straight forecast if possible for the 3rd straight year will be my betting interest punt.
    corbetts bookies have
    tns 8-13
    airbus 9-2
don’t know if they do straight forecasts on crap leagues.
my team bangor are in decline so I just watch and hope things improve, because that is what supporting your local team is all about.

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

It’s okay Bad Jasper, my local team Welling United couldn’t beat 9 man AFC Telford this weekend.
We are infamous for a certain game last season though, that may have lost some of you a fair bit of money! If any of you can guess what.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Was it by losing to Hyde after Hyde hadn’t won all season

    • bad jasper 10 years ago

      WELLING 0 HYDE UTD 2.
strangely I did lose on this game.
not because hyde won their 1st game there, but I was on over 3.5, which teams usually scored themselves against hyde.

good luck this season bud, time for zzzzzzzzzzzz

Same thinking for stjarnan tonight against bottom of league

In armenia looking at goals for benants 2 and alashkert 2 games. will probably just go for 1st half goals myself.

DERBY @1.80 bald fred to beat Carlisle
McClaren saying he will play a strong side and is against making wholesale changes.

  19. daz 10 years ago

    Derby Telegraph quote :

DERBY County head coach Steve McClaren will look to avoid making changes for tonight’s Capital One Cup first-round tie against Carlisle United, if possible.

The Rams are in action again a little over 48 hours after their victory over Rotherham United in Saturday’s Championship opener.

League Two club Carlisle provide the opposition at Brunton Park and McClaren said: “We don’t really want to make changes. We want to take the cup seriously, we want to go there and win the game.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

daz, if he’s right Derby are a sound bet but remember he has to say that. Interested by his use of the word “really”.

I’m on a derby win tonight, I know its a quick turn around but they are a good squad, fitness levels seemed high on saturday and mcclaren is doing a great job, I might even go for Derby to win to nil, when I get a chance to get on 365 that is…

SANFRECCE HIROSHIMA 13/10 VS. SAGAN TOSU 2/1 11am

    SANFRECCE HIROSHIMA VS. SAGAN TOSU

The home side sit 9th in the league while the away side are In 1st.

Home side previous 5 home games
    1 win 2 draw 2 loss
Away sides previous 5 away games
    Won all 5

All pointing to a away win

Apart from the head to head stats
Last 3 games the home side has won

Looking at the last 5 games both teams has played & the sort of sides they have played . my head says away win.

    And at 2/1 it’s tempting

Any thoughts on this game are welcome !

  24. Yesevil 10 years ago

    Morning all,

No time for a write up I’m afraid, but, I spotted the following last night and all look good stats wise:

Derby over 1.5 team goals 8/11
    Fredrikstad/Mjondalen Over 2.5 8/11
    Hacken/Elfsborg Over 2.5 8/11
    Greuther Furth/Nurnberg over 2.5 19/20

Out of these I’m a little undecided on the german game, but am thinking of the Derby goals as a single and then a double of the Norweigian and Swedish overs, maybe throw all three in a speculative treble.

Greg as a man who often tips overs in Nordic leagues, have any of the above crossed your mind for today, your thoughts would be appreciated.

  25. tomekplnd 10 years ago

Harley I think btts would be a good bet in that game?

  26. nathan ufton 10 years ago

Having a little double today. Derby to win/over 2.5 match goals @ 10/3 and over 11 corners in game @ 10/11. pays £82.72 from a tenner.

The first element is very good value, maybe a super single. Can’t see us losing. I can see Mclaren tweaking the team but not heavily, we’ve taken in a few new faces in the last few weeks, but whoever he takes out of the starting 11, you know we have plenty of quality cover. The back 4, I can’t see being changed as we have injuries. Personally, I think Dawkins is due for a start on the bench – possibly with Ward. Also, its games like these where either hendrick/hughes/bryson only play part of the game. Sammon has found himself well down on the pecking order too. I would also expect Carlisle to take in a number of bookings, so maybe an over 3.5 cards in game is worth looking at. I’ll post the team news as soon as i can.

    • nathan ufton 10 years ago

      oooh, over 2.5 cards with bet 365 @ 5/6…. i’m dribbling

    • nathan ufton 10 years ago

bugger, made a mistake, over 2.5 goals and derby is 6/4, my mistake.

    • nathan ufton 10 years ago

Head Coach Steve McClaren has indicated that he will not be making wholesale changes to the side for tonight’s encounter with Carlisle.

Midfielder Will Hughes (neck) was withdrawn as a precaution in the 53rd minute during the 1-0 victory over Rotherham United, and McClaren has confirmed the England Under-21 international will be assessed before a decision is made on his inclusion.

Lee Naylor (groin), who missed out on the win over the Millers, remains doubtful, while Mark O’Brien (ankle), George Thorne (ACL) and Shaun Barker (knee) remain sidelined as they continue their rehabilitation from injury.

McClaren told Rams Player:“I’ve changed my side against lower league opponents in the past in the Cups and come unstuck.

“We want to build some momentum at this early stage so that comes into our thinking.

“It’s another chance to get minutes in the players’ legs as well.

“We’ll look at who we can risk and who we can’t and name a team that we believe can win the tie.”

Jamie Ward, Leon Best and Omar Mascarell are all pushing for starts after coming off the bench during Saturday’s victory over the Millers.

Jong Ajax vs Telstar (Dutch Jupiler League, 7PM)

Today Ajax reserves and Telstar get their Jupiler league campaigns underway in the final game of the first round of fixtures and there’s some interesting news coming out of the Ajax camp. Yesterday the Ajax senior side got their campaign underway with a 4-1 thrashing of Vitesse but their were a number of big names missing from that lineup. Jasper Cillessen (dutch national keeper), Joel Veltman and Stefano Dentswil are just some players who didn’t feature in the first team against Vitesse yesterday and instead, they are expected to join Jong Ajax tonight in a reserve game to get their fitness up to scratch. A total of 5 first team players are expected to feature tonight for Jong Ajax as well as some exciting new additions to the squad. Jong Ajax are never going to get promoted from the Jupiler league, it’s not possible under Dutch FA rules, but they certainly have a high caliber feeder club who will use their young side to build on their success. As for Telstar, well they’re out on their own and over the Summer they’ve lost a number of their decent players from last season. They’re looking to improve on a 2013-14 season which saw them finish 6th from bottom and 5 points behind Jong Ajax, but that dream looks all but a fantasy given the players they have parted ways with. Daryl Van Mieghem and Kevin Brands both scored 8 goals a piece last season and both have now left the club. Calvin Macintosh who scored 4 goals from defence in 36 appearances last season has also left, as has midfielder Sjakk Lettinga who made 39 appearances for the club last season scoring 2 goals. There will be a number of debutants tonight for Telstar and I full expect Jong Ajax to take advantage of that.

I thought I’d share this write up with everyone here, use it as you wish. Personally I’m taking Jong Ajax -1 @ 1.975 and -2 @ 3.800

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Whitestar, that’s saved me a bit of work so thanks. The key with Jong Ajax is always the strength of the time and if as you say they’re playing five first-teamers they should be a good bet. Just recovered from last night’s late golf shift so going out for a walk then get some tips up and check out Derby team news.

DeAndre and others have mentioned the free bets offer from PP every time your top scorer selection nets. Agree this is generous and worth looking at, but be aware of 3 conditions in particular:

“Free bet can be placed on any sport and are valid for 7 days.

To continue qualify for free bets, customers must have staked at least GBP/EUR10 in actual, non-free bet, sportsbook stakes in the 30 days prior to each free bet being credited.

A customer will be able to claim a maximum of GBP/EUR10 in free bets per week, Monday to Sunday.”

    Therefore you need to use the free £2 bet within 7 days of it being credited;
    You need an active PP account where you are betting your own money on a regular basis-potentially costing you as much in lost stakes as you get back in free bets;
    AND
You are capped to by getting a free bet on 5 goals per week-this could be an issue if you have 2 selections in this market and there are games on Sunday/Midweek/Saturday

    Banik Ostrava vs Znojmo

Znojmo are whipping boys in this league and have lost most recent games. I feel Ostrava will score a few here but odds are poor for most markets, however I’ve found some value in Ostrava to score in both halves @5/6. Znojmo’s past 9 games have seen the opposition score in both halves and the last one they played Ostrava won 3-2 whilst scoring in both halves.

Bets: Ostrava score in both halves @5/6

For anyone on about over 1.5 goals for the Korean game. The stats add up. The two teams have played each other 7 times in the last year. All 7 have gone over 1.5. 5 of the 7 over 2.5.

I’m re-backing at 8/11 for over 1.5 goals. Hopefully an early goal in the second half will open it up. They do open up as the game goes on these women games!

  73. Stormin 10 years ago

Clear handball penalty not given in that red angels game

  74. Mr. Orange 10 years ago

Nice write up Whitestar. I think it is crazy they let Jong Ajax in this league.

Last season they used 56 different players. You can better play them on Friday then on Monday, because on Monday you will play the first team substitutes who didn’t play at the weekend. But it’s Monday so your bets look good, but have to check the line-up.

  75. tomekplnd 10 years ago

The thing about the Red Angels game, is that I just realised that it’s their last game of the season and they are top with a 10 point advantage…

  76. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

    Johnny J,

Your comment about Frank Maloney was uncalled for. This a sports/betting site.

You can’t negate your ignorance by adding the disclaimer
    ‘each to their own eh’.

Mr F. I was going to send you a message via the site, but feel that if the forum is being used to peddle ignorance then it should be used to counter act it also.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

MonLosBlancos, comments that as you claim “peddle ignorance” are never accepted. However, Johnny J’s comment was to me just an exclamation of a fairly remarkable story that’s obviously been headline news.

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

      Mr F.

Perhaps we watch different news channels, as the main headline I have noticed is the death, bombing and mayhem in Gaza.

It certainly wasn’t a exclamation of support. Most people that I have spoken to about Frank Maloney have expressed support for his courage for someone working in a male dominated industry.

Mr. F. I am sure that if Fank Maloney owned a chain of bookies you would have challenged Johnny J immediately as you often do to posts that criticise such companies.

If someone were to find an ex-footballer in Gaza would that make it a sports item, therefore permitting them to use this site to peddle their view on the conflict?

    • cooldude 10 years ago

MonLosBlancos, Utter nonsense. This is no place for views on wars or politics.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

MonLosBlancos, it was front page news in the UK yesterday and today. You can headline with more than one story. A lot of what you’re saying is now nonsense.

Mon I have to say that I wasn’t in the least offended by the OP and I am the first to be so, I just reported a person for racism on FB in fact. This comment just seemed a genuine expression of surprise though, I was surprised too and feel exactly the same way ‘each to their own’ good luck to her.

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

      Mattr,

thanks for your comment. I am not a supporter of censorship, I feel people have a right to express a view. But I equally support the right to reply.

If this was a social media platform & the comments were made to spark a debate, then great. But what riled me was for someone to go to the bother of posting an item, with the only opinion being ‘what the f**k & eh?’

Moreover this forum has a well respected reputation for not just posting tips but posts that have an excellent write-up accompanying tips. If it was a tip, people would say no point in just stating a tip with no follow up.

Good for you reporting a racist comment.

“Last match of 4th round of Polish Ekstraklasa where local Pogoń is a very solid favourite against visiting Piast Gliwice. Start of the season showed us that Dariusz Wdowczyk’s men can have another very good first part of the season and very likely will reach top8 earlier than they though they would. Before the season many wondered how will life look like without two most important players responsible for scoring last season. They lost playmaker Akahoski who joined Russian newcomer FK Ufa and also top scorer last season Marcin Robak who left for China. Yet the second mentioned transfer collapsed and luckily for the coach and fans he eventually stayed. Very good news as this team remains very balanced and very strong. It is not only first XI like Wisła or Ruch have, but as well solid bench with options for the coach in case of injuries or suspensions. They even made the squad wider brining of late midfielders Bruno Loureiro and Shōhei Okuno. Pogoń on paper looks good but more importantly they looked very well on the pitch. They started this season on a tough ground winning 3-2 in Bielsko against Podobeskidzie, then at home crushed Śląsk Wrocław 4-1 to tie last one in Kielce against Korona 2-2. A lot of goals but what is interesting is that Wdowczyk’s side always conceded first goal but never gave up and have 7 points now. If not silly mistakes in defense it would have been all 9 as they deserved it being better side in all three matches played. Pogoń is in form and we know already they will be very strong at home this season. The coach has all players available for the game today and there is only a small question mark over Maciej Dąbrowski who has problems with his shoulder. All in all home side is a fav, they know it and are very determined to face the pressure and collect another 3 points. Clearly doable as they are a better side.

Piast Gliwice have the toughest schedule of all teams in Ekstraklasa at the start of the season. Only facing top teams round after round that is why just 1 point out of 3 matches can not surprise anyone. For starters they lost 0-4 in Poznań against Lech, then tied 1-1 against Wisła Kraków on road in a game they were a worse side but a bunker helped them get 1 point and last time at home lost 1-3 against Lechia Gdańsk, a team that can end up high this season. 3 tough games and there is another one today, who knows, as maybe even tougher one. Spanish coach Angel Perez Garcia has a very difficult job to do. The squad is very average to say the least and Piast is a solid contender to get relegated after the season. Transfers into the club look like a total joke. Dawid Janczyk, a forward with alcohol problems, left back Piotr Brożek who is almost at the end of his career and in low form, then 35 years Spanish keeper Albero Cifuentes no one heard about apart from the coach (and he does quite badly between the posts). It looks bad and the fact that defensive formation was weakened in summer break make Piast fans even more worried. Best goalie Dariusz Trela left for Lechia, left back Krzysztof Król went to Montreal Impact, right back Mateusz Matras to Pogoń Szczecin and centre back Hebert returned to Braga. 4 out of 5 regular players in defensive formation last season out. Piast brought of late centre back from Colombia, Armando Nieves (another unknown player) but he seems not to be ready yet as played in reserves game in midweek. All in all at the moment Piast look like an average side and it is hard to expect from them any fireworks. They conceded the biggest number of goals of late and now travel to face a side that scored the most. Szczecin is a very tough ground for Piast and it just might look as bad as last season here. Once again we can expect Marcin Robak to score (a former Piast player) as last season he scored 4 goals in two matches against Gliwice side. In form Pogoń at home should have no problems claiming 3 points here and we would not be surprised to see a convincing victory.”

    Recommended bets:
Pogon Szczecin – Piast Gliwice HW @ 1,65 UNIBET (Odds are dropping, value might be gone)
    M. Robak (Pogon) to score @ 2,38 UNIBET. Topscorer last season with 22 goals, scoring 13 at home (59,1%).

    Funbet:
    M. Robak to score & Pogon to win @ 3,00.

I think the comments regarding Maloney could be seen differently. The use of ‘wtf’ and ‘I suppose` doesnt really help in shedding light on what might be a sensitive area for some. Id imagine if these comments were aimed at any other heated topic they would have been deleted by now. If these comments appeared elsewhere online they wouldnt be accepted- just my opinion.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Shaun, he actually didn’t say anything good or bad about Maloney. Everyone here is aware comments that go over the top will be deleted. Not every comment is about betting as you know but as long the majority are that’s fine.

    A HEART WARMING TALE :)

    SUNDAY.

    A guy walks into a Glasgow bookmakers Sunday lunchtime, lets call the bookies Great Barrier Reef to keep it anonymous, and wanders over to the screens. Seeing the likes of the normal Sunday fare ie Peruvian Dung Beetle Racing and the first day of the Mongolian Yak Racing Festival he decides that it will just be a football ‘top up’ bet as he already has several in place on this particular event. He wanders over to the counter and this conversation takes place with the very polite young lady working behind it;

Young lady; Hi, would you like a tea or coffee

Guy; No but thanks anyway. Could you check the price on Hearts to win or draw today, double chance?

Young lady; Certainly,……………. they are 21/20. I take it you are going to the match.

Guy; I am indeed so hopefully the rain stays off.

    The guy then proceeds to write out this bet on the slip with his free pen;

    £***.**

    HEARTS D/C

The D/C indicates double chance and was hastily written to appease his impatient mates in the car outside who are eager to get to Ibrox. The young lady at his request writes the shop ID on the receipt to enable the bet to be collected in Edinburgh should Hearts avoid defeat at Ibrox.

    MONDAY.

    After seeing the never in doubt triumph the guy is sitting with his morning coffee perusing his Racing Post when a mate comes to the door. On inviting his unwanted guest, study time, in he makes him a coffee as well, free of charge and the following conversation takes place;

Uninvited guest; What you up to today?

Guy; Just gonna tidy up and stick some washing on (His girlfriend or ‘partner’ for the politically correct is working so he is happy to do her chores for her) ;)

Uninvited guest; Want to go and grab something to eat?

Guy; I will make you something seen as you are hinting but do me a favour give me a lift over to ‘Great Barrier Reef’ at D*****n M****s so I can collect that bet from yesterday.

    So they have their bacon rolls and head to the afore mentioned bookies. On walking in the gentleman behind the counter grunts a morning at them and gets back to reading his paper. Then the following conversation takes place;

Guy; Can I collect this mate I put it on in Glasgow yesterday? Id is on the back

    Grumpy Guy; mumble mumble mumble,

    He scans the slip and and then says;

Grumpy Guy; Give me a minute need to get money from the safe.

    Guy; No problem mate

2 minutes later the grumpy guy begins counting out the winnings which are *** at 21/20 which equal ***, however Mr Grumpy is counting way past the aforementioned figure and eventually hands over **** not *** as was expected. It turns out the 21/20 double chance has been paid out as a 4/1 win bet!!!! As I said, a heart warming tale :)

    The final part of this tale is that whilst in the said bookmakers it turns out they are offering this;

HEARTS TO BEAT HIBS AT EVEN MONEY!!!! GET ON IT NOW :)

  131. Alex 10 years ago

Craig K- double stake as long as you are prepared to give it to the bookies temporarily ;)

  132. jimmybeee 10 years ago

I thought in the spirit of fair play you would have told this unfortunate person of their admin mistake, and asked for a recount on the grounds of sporting honour lol

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Thought about it jimmybeee as I sprinted out the door. Free envelope as well with the cash in it! Greg just text me ‘If Carlsberg did Mondays’!!!!

  133. jimmybeee 10 years ago

Raalj would you be confident of a good Scottish cup run m8 this season. Must have a squeak.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Be honest jimmybeee I don’t think the Cup will be a priority for us this season mate as we will concentrate on the league.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

jimmybeee, cup runs for sides like Hearts are always down the draw. For example they could Celtic away or Dundee Utd or Aberdeen away and you wouldn’t fancy them.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Correct Mr F, our priority will always be the league this season.

    Watford
    Wigan
    Brentford
    Reading

Longshot acca just because cup games can see plenty shocks but think there’ll be a few draws this week

    Blackpool
    Peterborough
    Accrington Stanley
    Ipswich
    Cambridge
    Cardiff 1150/1

Only Accrington Stanley & Cambridge would be real shocks plus with Blackpool too hardly any players but 85/40 a massive price

Monlosblancos, I’ve certainly noticed that the ladies have been scoring mate! My worry would be it’s a UCL match against a decent side so would probably leave it!

William, I’m sure that’s a Rod Stewart song, haha! Love you too sir! :)

    • MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Thanks for that Greg, I avoided it, although there were 4 goals I wasn’t free to follow it in-play and I couldn’t get decent anti-post odds to make it worth while.

  155. raaljaca 10 years ago

    POLISH EKSTRAKLASA

POGON SZCZECIN V PIAST GLIWICE 5.00

BOTH TO SCORE AND OVER 2.5 29/20 (HILLS) PROB 6/4 OR BETTER ELSEWHERE

Pogon are off to a decent start this season by scoring 9 in 3 games but have conceded 5. Piast are bottom but scored in 2 of their 3 matches and although they are very likely to lose the bet of around 6/4 relies basically on them scoring once. No certainty by any means but at odds against I will take the chance. The both to score is 10/11 but as I see Pogon scoring more than once then I would rather the bigger odds bet.

    • bigmick 10 years ago

raal i think hearts will win that league this year i got them at 10/3 and i know there is just one game into the season but as mr f says if rangers fall in to trouble again they will be docked points and that looks very likely.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Mick, long way to go obviously but we have a really decent committed team determined to go back up in one season. We are debt free, sold out every home game and all the youngsters have signed new contracts. For me that helps with the confidence in backing a side whereas Rangers have so much uncertainty around then. I thought we could win it before the season started and I still say we will. Without Rangers at evens is now 4/6 and really looks a steal for all of us who got it.

I’ll be looking at the games in detail tonight and tomorrow with the tips up on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. Tough looking card though – Aberdeen won’t beat Killie if they play like they did yesterday. Dundee Utd could be a shout at home to Motherwell and St Mirren at home to Hamilton.

Raal mate, regarding your bet on the polish match, willy hill are going 11/4 on Pogon winning with both teams to score. Your write up seems to hint that this is the most likely probability! Just thought id point that out.

Ive backed it anyway. Good luck.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

jasper, that looks a great bet mate. I took the 29/20 btts and overs as I like the option of winning before a game ends although that doesn’t always happen!

    • jasper 10 years ago

Haha mate I know that feeling. Good luck with what your on, and cheers for the heads up.

By the way, regarding your story from earlier- I assume the price for the DC wasn’t market down? If I have a bet in the shops I always take the price. That way you can avoid any potential scams with a winning bet!!

    A HEART WARMING TALE :)

    SUNDAY.

    A guy walks into a Glasgow bookmakers Sunday lunchtime, lets call the bookies Great Barrier Reef to keep it anonymous, and wanders over to the screens. Seeing the likes of the normal Sunday fare ie Peruvian Dung Beetle Racing and the first day of the Mongolian Yak Racing Festival he decides that it will just be a football ‘top up’ bet as he already has several in place on this particular event. He wanders over to the counter and this conversation takes place with the very polite young lady working behind it;

    The guy then proceeds to write out this bet on the slip with his free pen;

    £***.**

    HEARTS D/C

The D/C indicates double chance and was hastily written to appease his impatient mates in the car outside who are eager to get to Ibrox. The young lady at his request writes the shop ID on the receipt to enable the bet to be collected in Edinburgh should Hearts avoid defeat at Ibrox.

    MONDAY.

    After seeing the never in doubt triumph the guy is sitting with his morning coffee perusing his Racing Post when a mate comes to the door. On inviting his unwanted guest, study time, in he makes him a coffee as well, free of charge and the following conversation takes place;

Uninvited guest; What you up to today?

Guy; Just gonna tidy up and stick some washing on (His BOYFRIEND or ‘partner’ for the politically correct is working so he is happy to do HIS chores for HIM) ;)

Uninvited guest; Want to go and grab something to eat?

Guy; I will make you something seen as you are hinting but do me a favour give me a lift over to ‘Great Barrier Reef’ at D*****n M****s so I can collect that bet from yesterday.

    So they have their bacon rolls and head to the afore mentioned bookies. On walking in the gentleman behind the counter grunts a morning at them and gets back to reading his paper. Then the following conversation takes place;

Guy; Can I collect this mate I put it on in Glasgow yesterday? Id is on the back

    Grumpy Guy; mumble mumble mumble,

    He scans the slip and and then says;

    The final part of this tale is that whilst in the said bookmakers it turns out they are offering this;

HEARTS TO BEAT HIBS AT EVEN MONEY!!!! GET ON IT NOW :)

    A JAMMY JAMBO INDEED ;-)

Quiet card tonight so been looking to Wednesday’s SPFL card.

Dundee 3/1 to beat Inverness on Wednesday looks good IMO. Dundee have bought well and I’m still not convinced by John Hughes at Inverness.

Dundee United could be worth a shout on the handicap against Motherwell. Motherwell are struggling with injuries and they couldn’t cope with Dundee United’s pace last year. Could be the same again on Wednesday.

Carlisle lost 0-1 at home to Luton at the wknd and it ended 7-4 on corners.

Derby won 1-0 at home v Rotherham and 8-3 on corners.

Bookies can’t separate them on RT markets, Derby just slight favs so I’m not touching them or the asian corner line as it’s too high at 11.0 corners. Hopefully being the better team shows tonight and I’m on these 2 singles.

    POLISH EKSTRAKLASA

POGON SZCZECIN V PIAST GLIWICE 5.00

BOTH TO SCORE AND OVER 2.5 29/20 (William Hill) PROB 6/4 OR BETTER ELSEWHERE

Pogon are off to a decent start this season by scoring 9 in 3 games but have conceded 5. Piast are bottom but scored in 2 of their 3 matches and although they are very likely to lose the bet of around 6/4 relies basically on them scoring once. No certainty by any means but at odds against I will take the chance. The both to score is 10/11 but as I see Pogon scoring more than once then I would rather the bigger odds bet.

** LOST ** WILL LEAVE MONDAYS TO GREG IN FUTURE ;) **

    1. Puuma >3.5 goals lost. Final score 2-1.

    2. Tractors match in Latvia >3.5 goals. 4-0 after 30 mins win.

I was surprised that the latter was set at 3.5 and not 4.5. Hope some of you got on earlier as not available in play.

  256. Danny T 10 years ago

Chris Martin anytime tonight for derby he has 5 goals in his 10 league cup appearances including 3 in his last 2 in the league cup. I am going with him anytime at 11/10 and maybe a small stake on him to score first at 4/1. It might be worth checking if he has a price boost on sky bet . Best of luck

  257. thechief 10 years ago

Evening guys, just the one bet for me tonight and it is in the Capital one cup. A strong looking Derby side travel to face Carlisle and it should be a win for the home team. The player I want to be on here is Chris Martin who scored 20 goals in 44 games last season at Championship level. He is available at 11/8 Betfred.

    MARTIN TO SCORE 11/8

Good luck if your having a bet

  265. Frank 10 years ago

Bad day for my tips yesterday gents but I hope to make it back today.

    Argentina

    Tigre v Velez over 2.5 @2.74 (Pinnacle)

As you may or may not know, Argentina football is in a transition season which is why they are naming this season the Torneo Transiciónal (Transition Tournament).

NO Teams will be relegated this season because the league is expanding to 30 teams for the new 2015 Primera season. As of the the 2015 season, a unique tournament with 30 teams will be played. Ten teams from the Primera B Nacional will be promoted to take part of this new tournament. This championship was named “Torneo de Transición ” (Transition Tournament) with no relegations at the end of the season.

The Primera B will be where all the action and tight games will occur. Ten teams will battle it out to see who gets to be among the 10 promoted to the new league. The Transitional Tournament will only run until November.

With the Torneo Transisional being a shorter and more compact season, (No inicial or final seasons, just one) I expected more games be played with more open style as teams don’t run the risk of relegation and are guaranteed to be part of the new tournmanet next season. I still don’t think the books have fully adjusted for this and as a result there is some value to be had. No games will see teams play for the scoreless draw to avoid dropping into the relegation zone etc.

Then in February the new 30 team league with each team playing each other twice, spanning a year will kick off. Yes, a year long season.

This brings me to this selection for today. Tigres v Velez.

Tigre played a ton of unders to start last season’s competition. They had significant trouble scoring but were fairly competent at the back. Under 2.5 went 9-0 in their first nine games of the Torneo Final last season. 3 of their last 5 games however went over 2.5 goals as did 3 of their last 5 games played at home. The last meeting between these two at this pitch was a 2-1 Velez win.

As for Velez Sarsfield, almost won the Torneo Inicial last season but they suffered a drop off in the Torneo Final. Last season their games overall averaged 3.16 per match. This was a half goal more than any other team in the league which shows you how significant it is noting Argentina can be a low scoring league. 12 of their 19 games had more than 3 or more goals and only once did they fail to score on the road with only one clean sheet.

This will be the first match of the season for both teams and one that they will want to start with lots of energy.

The fact that Velez is involved in this game is why I am taking the over 2.5 at significant odds. If you feel more comfortable taking the asian line of 2 then that is your choice and right.

However given the nature of this season’s tournament, the fact that Velez are known to provide entertaining games PLUS Tigre’s better offense of late puts me on the over 2.5 at +274 in this match.

  266. hoppo123 10 years ago

Without the risk of sounding daft, if i were to have derby -1 as the super single, does this just mean i have them to win by just 1 goal difference ?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

hoppo123, Derby -1 means Derby have to win by two unfortunately. Just take one off Derby’s total at the end.

    REAL BETIS V FIORENTINA 20.00

My main tip is over 2.5 goals @ 1.91
    Real Betis /BTTS @ 4.40 for a small stake.

Real Betis, although relegated to the segunda division play some decent football, has had a decent pre-season, losing to Stoke 2-0, Betis wasn’t disgraced and put up a decent performance. Surprisingly it has so far been able to keep most of its best players. Players like Ruben Castro and Jorge Molina. Castro having scored 16/18 and 10 goals in la liga’s primera division in the last 3 seasons.

Fiorentina played Malaga LAST NIGHT, winning 2-0. Tonight’s game is also in Andalucia therefore no travel issues, but surely there will be players tonight playing a second game on consecutive days.
Also as I stated in previous Beti posts, Beti has one of the most promising managers and certain players are putting themselves in the shop window to stay playing in the top division. Real Betis leak goals but also has an attack more than capable of scoring.
Good luck to anyone betting this game.

P.S. sadly for Betis with no games against Real Madrid or Barca, this is the height of its season.

Can I just say, thank you Whitestar! It is, as MrF has said, why this site is so good. Im sure our regulars will agree that Ajax reserves, although I watched out for them alot last season, were not on my shortlist earlier today.

I took them -1 purely on the advise on here, the sort of squad news you supplied is invaluable.

To all the other posters on here, have a great season ans i will start posting more once I have the time.

MrF, You are a credit to the thousands of punters that frequent this site, a place which knowledgeable individuals get the chance to share tips to, hopefully, make the bookies worry a bit! Keep up the good work friends, the new season is here!

    Carlisle v Derby

Carlisle lost 0-1 at home to Luton at the wknd and it ended 7-4 on corners.

Derby won 1-0 at home v Rotherham and 8-3 on corners.

Bookies can’t separate them on RT markets, Derby just slight favs so I’m not touching them or the asian corner line as it’s too high at 11.0 corners. Hopefully being the better team shows tonight and I’m on these 2 singles.

Derby over 5.5 corners 4/5 ( Carlisle only 10/11 for same bet ) WIN :)
    Derby asian corner handicap 0.0 @1.800 ( draw no bet at 4/5 ) WIN :) ( NEARLY )

All the work everyone did for the team news made it a good bet.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

daz, it was a good team effort for sure. You can’t get better info than that from fans. I’d have done the research last night if it wasn’t for the US PGA so thanks again to the likes of whitestar and Nathan who confirmed team news on Derby and Jong Ajax. All we need now is fans from the likes of Blackburn, Charlton, Leeds, Millwall, Middlesbrough, Blackpool, etc, etc give us thoughts on the mountain of cup games on Tuesday.

Chris Martin anytime tonight for derby he has 5 goals in his 10 league cup appearances including 3 in his last 2 in the league cup. I am going with him anytime at 11/10 and maybe a small stake on him to score first at 4/1. It might be worth checking if he has a price boost on Skybet . Best of luck

  347. RennersLUFC 10 years ago

Raaljaca – what’s your young lad Holt like? Few rumours down here that we (Leeds) may be in for him

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Great prospect Renners. All our youngsters will move on eventually but they are committed to the club for a couple of seasons. We dont need to sell anybody at present which is excellent and their values will only increase as they improve throughout the season. MOT

  348. Alan 10 years ago

I have a BTTS double which I think has a good chance of landing. Current form suggest all four teams should score. Both games are from Sweden.

    Hacken v Elfsborg (18.05)

Osters IF v IFK Varnamo (18.20)

    The double pays 6/4

    *********************************

I’ll also be on Ajax and derby to win.

That double pays 7/4 @ Coral

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

One up, one down. But with my level stakes, showed a bit of profit. Of all the four teams I had to score, I thought Hacken would be the last team to let the bet down. They had the lions share of possession, and and had scored in all their home games this season.

Also, thanks to the guy who give us the heads up on the possible Ajax team (can’t remember who you were) but it convinced me to double them with Derby.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Alan, it was whitestar with the Jong Ajax team news.

  349. Danny T 10 years ago

Stjarnem v Thor btts 11/10 last 3 h2hs have seen btts and all of thors last 5 away games have also seen btts . The concede is only 2 of the last 5 stajarnem home games have seen btts but over evens full half to go I will have a little play on that :-)

Well done again tonight, MrF as usual and, in special, Whitestar, once again this is why we all need to pool info and get one up on the bookies.

I look in-depth to my bets but rarely get the chance to post, it feels selfish in a way, if i win but it purely comes down to time.

Keep up up the good work!

MrF, once again credit for not only your tips and insight but for the platform for others to chat, give opinions/insight and, ultimately, great tips!

  356. JC14 10 years ago

MrF. – Good tipping, grazi. Btw those goals in Belgium were insane…..

  357. InterYerNan 10 years ago

Alan Wolves should be a sound bet for tomorrow. As expected they are short at 4/9 for the win.

Jackett has already indicated that he will field a strong team for the clash against league 2 opponents Northampton.

I can see us scoring two or 3 tommorrow against Northampton so will be wolves and over 2.5mg at 1/1.

    Daz,

Thanks for easing my stress level with your confidence in Derby scoring a second. Mr F. I hadn’t realised you tipped (-1). I see now, you went the sensible way tipping a straight double.

A workmate and I both had the same bet on as Whitestar, Derby (-1). Ajax (R) (-1) double. I couldn’t cash-out but he could and sent a text saying he had cashed out for more or less double his stake. I won x 6 my stake. Sorry to mention figures, but I am now £400 better of than him.

    SUPER CUP

I am going put this up early as the price may change, Gareth Bale returns home for the Super Cup and I am sure he will be popular choice in the morning. He has scored in the big games for Madrid and his odds on in with quite a few firms, but is available at 6/5 Coral. I will add any other bets tomorrow.

    BALE TO SCORE 6/5

Good luck if your having a bet

Real Cartengena v Depor FC 0.00

Real won their first home game of the season 2-0. They are unbeaten in their last 6 at home stretching back to last season, scoring over 1.5 team goals in 4 of them.

Depor won their first away game of the season 1-0 but lost 14 out of 18 away games last season and conceded over 1.5 team goals in 13 out of 18.

Real have won this same fixture in the last 2 meetings with scores of 2-1 and 4-0.

I will be on Real Cartengara over 1.5 team goals in-play and over 2.5 mg at 17/20.

  369. craigyboy 10 years ago

With regards to the Wolves game. Jackett has come out and said he’ll play a strong side but at 4/9 I wouldn’t touch us. Yes we should win purely on the basis that Northampton are in League Two but the amount of times I’ve gone down for a cup game on a cold Tuesday night and had to sit through a borefest of 90mins and then see games go to extra time and penalties against lower league opposition is ridiculous. With no incentive to get a ticket for STH’s who would have to pay the same as any other Joe Bloggs is another issue. Can see it being a 12-14k attendance and no doubts has affected the players before. I’ll do my best to avoid the cup games tomorrow.

    REAL BETIS V FIORENTINA 20.00

My main tip is over 2.5 goals @ 1.91 *WINNER*
Real Betis /BTTS @ 4.40 for a small stake. *LOST*

    ———–

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Blancos- thanks mate. It’s hard to know what people think of you or how successful your seen as so nice to get some positive feedback.

I’m not a great loser at the best of times but games like that really annoy me because it shouldn’t have finished 1-1. Oh well there’s always another day! haha.

  395. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

    Shaun,

can you help me please, I am trying to find odds for Sevilla to score after 70+ mins in the Super Cup, where do you get he odds for similar MLS games?

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Blancos- I can see goal before 72 minutes if that’s any good?

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Sorry meant to put no goal before 72 mins. Or you can bet for a goal to be scored by either team after 77.59 mins. Both bets are 5/6.

I can’t see one for a Sevilla goal after 70 mins however.

  396. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

YES!!! There you go pspud. Well done mate 10/1 double. :)

    365. Click on the game, then click on goals section at the top of the screen.

  400. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Win or lose I can see Sevilla scoring late on, before 70 is too early to bet last team to score, against Madrid

  401. pspud 10 years ago

You can get time of first Sevilla goal from 76 mins until F/T at 7/1 with W Hill.

  403. Yesevil 10 years ago

Cheers Shaun, took over 0.5 in the Tigre game @ 13/8, plus some of your other tips earlier. Great end to a bad weekend

  404. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

No worries Yesevil mate. Sorry if you took the Columbian match earlier. Going on stats alone I’m not sure how it finished 1-1 but it’s hard to know for sure without watching the game for yourself. Glad to have helped though. :)

  405. MonLosBlancos 10 years ago

Seeing as the sensible people are in bed, that leaves Shaun, pspud and myself.

    REAL MADRID Vs SEVILLA 19.45

    Sevilla DC @ 3.10

    Draw @ 5.25

DC is always a good bet to place with bet.364 as you can get a good cash-out with an early goal.
I am uncertain of the odds, trust me Sevilla to score after 70+ minutes is highly possible.

    1st scorer Benzema @ 6.00.

I am duty bound to elect Benzema as I made a pretty penny from his exploits in Brazil

I have been to over 20 Sevilla games, and no matter what the media says, If playing, Banega, will be an asset and worthy replacement for Rakitic but unfortunately equally likely to get a card as man of the match. Again I have no time to search for odds until after I post this.

*Real Madrid had no fewer than 12 players at Brazil ’14.*

P.S.G/Monaco + let a lot of people down at the weekend.
    ———-
No one mentioned the World Cup hangover that always has this slow start influence post World Cup/Euros.
A slow start only to the major teams not to the opponents of such teams. There are rich pickings to be sought!
    ———–

I suggest members of the forum avoid or better still research big teams that are likely to start badly due to World Cup and commercial interests.

Since then for contractual reasons, played 3 games in U.S.A’s International Champions Cup. Scoring 2 goals and losing all 3 games. With so many players at the World Cup Madrid can’t be assessed on the 3 friendlies. What can be judged is the lack of playing time for the main Galacticos.

Sevilla has played 5 friendlies, winning 4, losing 1. Sevilla has previous in this cup, having won it after winning the Champions League in Glasgow 2006. Sevilla has taken the pre-season serious, easing its players into fitness, with this game in mind. This is Sevilla’s biggest game of the season. Even without Rakitic, is more than capable of getting something from this game.

This the one and only LOS BLANCOS ’ that Sevilla is going to face. Madrid before summer signings was capable of destroying any team that wanted to beat them. But even the great Ancelotti can’t have worked out his best team and formation to suit new signings, odriguez, Toni Kroos and Navas. All 3 worth easily over £100m.

Sure Madrid is capable of scoring 3 or 4 rapidly. But Sevilla is primed for this game. In my opinion the longer the game goes on the more dangerous and confident Sevilla will become.

This is sacrilege that I utter, I will be ecstatic to be proven wrong.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

MonLosBlancos, it’s a good write-up but the players at the World Cup should have recovered now and I reckon Real are ready for this one.

  406. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Blancos- best thing might be to watch out for in-play markets as well. From what I can remember there’s a few goal-time bets available usually. GL with it all though. :)

  407. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Who would you go for as a Sevilla scorer?

  408. pspud 10 years ago

Come on cordoba btts now 13/8 not many shots on goal

  409. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Looking a bit ahead- Sturrige to score anytime 11/10 seems a massive price at 365 compared to anywhere else, at home v a much changed Southampton team. Has been in good form pre-season and is the main man up front now.

Rooney 11/10 at betbright or 10/11 elsewhere.

    Sturridge/Rooney anytime DOUBLE 3/1

Lovren to score v his old club- 15/2 at 365 again. If he plays he will a threat from set pieces.

I’ve took them all, I’m a pool fan and it’s the first game of the season I know but couldn’t resist a go on them.

  410. Yesevil 10 years ago

No need to apologise Shaun, I always do a quick bit of research myself before placing a bet. That way I can only blame myself if a bet loses
