RORY McILROY is odds on to win the US PGA tonight and I can't see anyone stopping him.

The Open champion, bidding for back-to-back Majors, leads by one from Austrian Bernd Weisberger with a host of big names queuing up behind them.

They include Rickie Fowler who along with McIlroy was tipped on the anteposts by myself and Ace Venturer. I got McIlroy at 6-1 while Fowler was backed at 25-1 each way.

Feel free to put up golf or any other sports tips here.

I watch the action last night and while McIlroy really struggled off the tee on the front nine he was never headed and managed to make some great escapes for pars.

He played poorly but shot 67 and I expect him to perform better tonight so someone will have to go really low to catch him.

Weisberger has made his first cut in a Major at the sixth attempt so it's fair to assume he could crumble playing with McIlroy in the final group.

Fowler, as he was at Royal Liverpool, looks the main danger two off the pace while Phil Mickelson, Jason Day and Henrik Stenson are all within striking distance.

Wouldn’t, touch mcilroy at that price, with so much talent in pursuit ,it only needs one of them to shot a low round.and no way would i have j.b homles to beat schwartzel either, the way willet is playing cant c inconsistant snedeker winning that two ball.

Charlie, don’t back McIlroy then and do your own twoballs. Twoball betting is always risky because both are players are up against the course and not each other.

Can’t really see McIlroy being caught. He has already put in 3 rounds of -4 or better, without even hitting top gear. A -3 should be enough to see him over the line.

he is 7/2 with Ladbrokes to win it

Yeah mr f i wont,i have fowler and stenson who will give me a bit of interest,i agree two balls are very risky, even more in accums.but good luck with mcilroy ,he will go one way or the other.i sure he will still b under pressure.

Charlie, having watched it last night I’m confident McIlroy will play better. He scored 67 playing badly remember. Anyway let’s hope for an exciting night. I’ll be there to the death working on the Record.

Hopefully some profit too mr f,at least it will b interesting with so many in contention,i’d be happy with a stenson win and fowler place!,but good luck with your bets.

Jabari is a polished, versatile scorer who’s built to succeed in the NBA on that end. The fact the Bucks suck helps him as he’ll be the goto guy from the offset, basically he’s the most ready NBA player among the rookies and he’s in a situation in which he should thrive.

The Bulls are getting D. Rose back from injury and has looked superb playing with the USA team, they also added Pau Gasol giving them 2 of the best passing bigs in the league, and they signed Mirotic who was the best non NBA pro in the world last year. They’ll still have that stifling D but now they have some serious offensive punch to complement it.

think i’m going for Jabari then at 7/2 with laddies

how is winner decided is it a vote of his peers or the press who pick

  11. DeAndre 10 years ago

It’s selected writers and the give out 1st place votes then 2nd etc and tally it all up

Ad, was thinking of streaming the Federer and Tsonga match tonight? will it be one sided or worth watching??

A few in play golf bets tonight based on the form of previous 3 rounds, all to win hole:

Mcilroy v Wiesenberger – Mcilroy will be favourite for most holes but may be worth having a flutter on the 12th where Wiesberger has scored -2 (2 birdies and a par) and Mcilroy has collected 2 bogeys (birdy on first round). Would advise small stakes though with Rory involved.
I’m backing Rory on the 7th though where he has 3 consecutive birdies and Wiesberger has bogeyed twice. Ill expect short odds for that though.

Just going through some of the other matches and there are a few that stick out – Mickleson to win 9th verses Fowler (2 birdies v 2 bogeys – Fowler parred it yesterday but got lucky with his 2nd shot).

    Jason Day to win 4th V Oosthaisen (-2 V +2).

Illonen has birdied the 10th on 3 occasions and would like to have backed him again but he is playing Stenson who has done the same. May back both or either under par.

Weisburger currently 16/1 ladbrokes. e/w in playcbet for me now while 5 are tied up the top. played great golf and if mcilroy does crumble hes best placed imo to get the job done being behind the rest on course.

Mcilroys meltdown didn’t take long to start ! :(

  21. Bertie 10 years ago

BOOM !!! Rory does it again class’s always rises to the top !

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Bertie, a win and a place for myself on Fowler for myself and Ace Venturer. I also advised him again today at just under evens and it was never in doubt was it? Goodnight all.

  22. Andy 10 years ago

Brilliant from Rory, poor start but got back on his feet, had him on to win outright early in the tournament at 9/2 and has come up trumps.
