April 18: Champions League Betting Preview

ChampionsLeagueTrophy

LEICESTER have done well to keep their Champions League hopes alive but could rue not scoring in Spain last week.

A disputed penalty gave Atletico Madrid a 1-0 win and I’m sure they’ll progress if they score at the King Power tonight.

Atletico have conceded just two goals in nine games – to Real Madrid and Sevilla – so are unlikely to shift three to the English champions.

Leicester’s best chance will be to win 1-0 and take the tie to extra time but with the quality of Antoine Griezmann and others they’ll be hard pushed to keep a clean sheet – and remember centre-half Robert Huth is banned.

An Atletico strike will leave the Foxes needing three and Atletico have shipped three goals just once this year to Las Palmas.

Scoring will be Diego Simone’s main aim and his side are 2-7 at Coral to do so and no bigger than 1-8 at McBookie to qualify. To win tonight they are 23-20 at Coral which will tempt many.

Leicester are 21-4 at Stan James to reach the semis and 14-5 with McBookie to beat the Spaniards at home. A 1-0 success pays 6-1 with McBookie and are 8-1 at Ladbrokes to triumph by two or more.

Jamie Vardy has refound his form under Craig Shakespeare and is 2-1 at Ladbrokes to net.

But I tipped Griezmann to score first in Madrid and prefer him again. He is 4-1 at Paddy Power to break the deadlock and 6-4 to net.

Tonight’s other tie sees Bayern Munich trying to perform mission impossible by overcoming a 2-1 deficit away to Real Madrid who have won their last 10 home matches in the Champions League.

Real are 1-3 at Skybet to qualify and 6-4 with 888sport to beat Bayern again and that’s tempting as it would be dangerous to sit back. Bayern are 7-2 at McBookie for a miracle recovery.

Bayern will be minus banned Javi Martinez and could be without Mats Hummel and Jerome Boateng and if all three miss the tie they’ll struggle to contain the hosts. Robert Lewandowski will be back though after missing the first leg.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale were rested at the weekend although Bale won’t make the game.

Ronaldo’s double in Germany took his Euro tally to 100 and he is 22-23 at 888sport to net again.

Bets to Consider

I also agree with you mr F, and I also recommend Lewa to score anytime and also to score first foe low. As for the full time, we saw one time Bayern to eliminate real and it could happen again, but this real is not the same as some years ago, so I will take a low risk on btts &draw. GL
