THE NBA play-off push continues on Wednesday night and Boston Celtics are in a perilous position with just a week to go.
Celtics occupy the final spot in the Eastern Conference after three wins from four but face a tough run-in including tonight's trip to a Detroit Pistons side gunning for a sixth successive home victory.
Bookies expect a tight encounter and Pistons are slight favourites at 5-6 with Skybet, who make the Celtics evens.
One of the teams breathing down Boston's neck in the play-off race, Indiana Pacers, go looking for victory at New York Knicks tonight and there's plenty more action in a packed fixture list.
At the WTA tennis in Charleston top seed Eugenie Bouchard is 2-7 at Paddy Power in her second-round match against Lauren Davis, the 3-1 underdog at Betway.
There's also ATP matches throughout the day from Europe and America while other sporting highlights include IPL cricket and stage three of cycling's Vuelta a Pais Vasco.

IPL 8 TIPS – DAY 1
Hi and unfortunately for you lot I’m back with my tips. Just to give you a quick indication of how I’ll do this I will post at least one tip for the IPL each day on a points system between 1 and 5…. 1 point being a “tip” and 5 being a “solid bet”. I’ll have ups and I’ll have downs but ultimately I’m here to try and make you some money. I’m always open to discussion and hopefully Harry , wet lettuce and various others will be up for some nice gambles and some help in my direction.
Day 1 – Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians
The start of the 2015 IPL sees defending champions Kolkata take on the all round unit of the Mumbai Indians.
Kolkata would have been my last choice for winners last year and I genuinely was shocked with how well they equipt themselves to the IPL. They possess a high quality bowling unit with players such as Sunil Narine and Umesh Yadav who game by game last season bowled teams out for below par totals, allowing them to win games chasing low scores.
I really don’t rate there batting line up starring and led by Robin Uthappa and Gautum Gambhir but the bowlers simply providing them with quite nice totals to chase. Regularly the Knight riders lost easy wickets and Uthappa guided his team to the win last year.
Although Mumbai didn’t have the best of IPL’s last year they came good at the end of the season, boasting the best record for the second half of the season and remarkably made the playoffs having been bottom at the mid-way stage.
Mumbai host a number of “power batsman” including Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard and Corey Anderson. The addition of Aaron Finch has only gone and added extra power and strength to the line up which wasn’t always reliable last season. The bowlers aren’t too shabby either with Lasith Malinga leading the consistent line up.
My verdict on this nervy, opening game is that if the power batsman for Mumbai bat sensibly they could post a total which would be too hard to chase as I don’t really see the Kolkata line-up a high enough quality to chase a 160+ score on this ground. The line up for Mumbai is capable of batting well providing they play the right shots against the Kolkata bowlers and do not lose silly wickets (Narine was crucial in taking constant wickets in his spells last year)
It’s the first game and I really think that at 11/10 Mumbai are worth a punt. It’s also a good indicator for us to see whether Kolkata look a good outfit and a backable team for the rest of the season.

I’ve noticed really big shifts in the spreads the last week or so. Movement of 5 or 6 points one way, then it slides back again before tip off. Across multiple games. What’s with that?!
I only noticed it yesterday with the Heat to be honest but that was only 3 points or so.
