A COUPLE of weeks ago I said I was resurrecting the Super Single shortlist and last week it was worth doing.
These selections come from my first run through of the coupon and there may be reasons to wipe them off the list – team news, h2h, etc.
One of these bets is likely to be my Super Single but I may see something that changes my mind in the next few days.
So let's here your comments on these picks and feel free to put up your own selections. Last week four of the 10 I put up won but I chose the wrong one in Stirling Albion draw no bet.
I've included one for Sunday as Aberdeen look too big at 13-10 to beat Rangers at home. That price won't last for sure.
All my choices are close to evens or above – and all prices are from 888sport unless stated.
Super Single Shortlist
Alli (Spurs) to score (7-5, Paddy Power)
Derby at Birmingham (7-5, Marathonbet)

Leeds v Preston (5-4, McBookie)
Southend at Charlton (8-5, Betfred)

St Mirren v Dumbarton (5-6, William Hill)
Aberdeen (13-10, McBookie) v Rangers (Sun)
Tricky card Mr F but in my humble opinion Doncaster at 10/11 have to be a serious contender
Doncaster are on my homes shortlist – can’t see anything wrong with them.
Although I don’t/won’t get ahead of myself, I do agree Derby should have plenty to push Birmingham aside.
Gary Rowett grabbed a narrow 1 nil win at home to Qpr when we could of had another couple ( bad decisions in the final 1/3 ), we played well. We then backed that up with a thrilling 4-2 win against Fulham at home. Both teams were on a good roll and derby’s form was terrible. Nugent got a hatrick against Fulham, he also missed a penalty and Fulham should of spent most of the 2nd half with 10 men. It was attack after attack from the rams and with Fulham’s high defensive line, we exploited it. The manager also knew at halftime he would have to change things around going into the break 2-1 up, so Vydra ( who played just behind Nugent ) was subbed out for Butterfield who played a more midfield minded role. Fulham had to throw more at us in the last half which left them very vulnerable at the back.
Derby know they have a very narrow chance of grabbing that last 6th spot and somehow we’ve changed the momentum on a sixpence.
Gary Rowett was sacked from Birmingham by incoming new owners, Idiots brought in Gianfranco Zola – and look where they are now. Rowett had no money to spend at Birmingham and turned them around, they duly sacked him for his efforts.
I think it’s the first time back against Birmingham and with Birmingham dangerously close to the trapdoor and Derby just 7 points from that 6th spot, it should make for an interesting game. Rowett will definitely want to do one over on his old bosses.
Derby were not perfect against Fulham but we were much more positive and direct than any other game this season. 2 or 3 Fulham/Sheff Wed blips and Derby could be right back within touching distance of that elusive 6th spot. Just a shame we’ve dropped 6 points in injurytime over the last few months, damn, things could be very different with those in the bag.
Either way, 7/5 is a great price for the Rams to hand my step-dad’s beloved Birmingham another step towards the 1st division.
Rowett will be desperate for the win and he looks a good manager.
Aberdeen for me from that list ?
Yip Alves and mr f Aberdeen luk one of the bets of the wend for me aswell
Unfortunately we’re not the only ones as has price has already dropped from 13-10.
On form yes Aberdeen should do Rangers but it don’t work like that.Aberdeen can be rotten on the day too not so clean cut in my view.
Seen a few people tip St Mirren
Fleetwood look a good shout away to Oldham
Liverpool have announced MANE is out for the season and have never won a game when he is out so I fancy Stoke for my SS.
