APR 7: SCOTTISH FOOTBALL TIPS

genericfootball

THE battle to avoid the Premiership drop could be over tonight if St Mirren lose at Fir Park.

Gary Teale’s men will fall 10 points adrift of Motherwell and up to 13 points behind Ross County if they flop.

Saints have continued to stutter while Well and County have improved and there seems to be no way back for the Buddies. Well have won three out of five since bringing in Scott McDonald and they’re playing with renewed confidence.

Teale’s torment started with the sale of top scorer Kenny McLean and has gone on with five defeats out of six and I’m backing Well at 6-5 with bet365. McDonald has made a difference and is 6-1 with McBookie to hit the opener.

I tipped County to win at Dundee Utd at the weekend and can see them beating St Johnstone at home. County have won seven and drawn one of their last eight and that’s a remarkable transformation by Jim McIntyre’s men.

A home win pays 9-5 at Skybet and County are so big you can go safer with County draw no bet at 19-20 with Coral.

Michael Gardyne had netted in back-to-back games before sitting out against his parent club United at the weekend. He should return tonight and is 9-2 at Betway to net at any time.

No doubt about it MR F the goals have made the difference. Ross COunty have Gardyne, Craig Curran and now De Vita scoring three in seven matches. Big Liam Boyce is probably due one now too. He hasn’t been scoring but by all accounts has been the main link uo man and playing very well.

Speaking of Well, McDonald and Erwin have formed a decent partnership and even big J Sutton got amongst the goals last week.

St Mirren have eh, well they have… um… Stephen Thomson scored one against Hamilton about five weeks ago, right?

Fitba Tips, St Mirren have really struggles for goals since selling Kenny McLean in January. I’m aware it’s desperation time for them but they don’t look good enough to beat anyone at the moment.

It’s now or never for St Mirren. They have Ross County at the weekend to. I do expect Motherwell to win but it’s one to leave alone for me. Desperate teams are dangerous at times and this could be St Mirren’s week…

gg1a, how did Ross County +1 not win? Ross County beat Dundee Utd 2-1 so +1 means they won 3-1. In Saturday’s Daily Record my main weekend write-up was on Ross County to win with the advice to also back them +1. I feel like adding “na na na na na” but won’t.
