IT was a dramatic night in the Champions League with hot favourites Real Madrid and PSG failing to win.
Real were stunned 2-0 away to Wolfsburg but I'm backing them to qualify either in 90 minutes or after extra time in the Bernabeu. An on-form Real should be able to win 2-0 or 3-0 against the Germans but if Wolfsburg score they'll be in serious trouble.
I'd also side with PSG but realistically they have to win in Manchester after conceding two away goals.
The CL results beat my Top Treble and Malmo and over 2.5 goals was half right but not good enough to land the
Super Single.
I did suggest Malmo to score 2+ as an alternative, safer bet and that was Jordan's main tip at 37-50. His 29-10 double also came up with 2+ Malmo goals and Norrkoping's Emir Kujovic to score.
Greg Browning didn't like the odds in the game he fancied for goals in Estonia but the advised bets came in anyway.
So we move from the Champions League to the
Europa League and I've put a preview of the four games. There are five more Swedish league matches and I'll have a look at them too before deciding what tips to post in the morning.
Having had my fingers burned by Malmo I'm reluctant to do too much with the Swedish games but Djurgarden look the best bet at home to Falkenbergs. I've seen Ostersunds backed to beat AIK and Elfsborg should see off Hammarby.
For a Super Single I'm taking a double on Villarreal to win and Shakhtar not to lose at Braga and there is reasoning on the Europa League post. I fancy Bilbao to beat Sevilla but it could be a draw and I expect Dortmund to beat Liverpool.
With everything that's going on at Aintree and Augusta that's my only football bet today.

Tough card tonight. Already have Dortmund in the Euro qualification double and not entirely sure on taking shots at the other games. Sparta have been excellent away from home in Europe this season, but Villarreal are yet to concede a goal on their patch. Braga/Shakthar could be a fiery affair and Over 4.5 Cards pays 4/6 with 365, but without seeing the ref in charge I’m leaving it alone. Djurgarden won outright winners at Orebro in their first match of the season, and will now be at home against the team who just about survived the relegation playoffs. Falkenbergs lost 2-0 at home to Goteborg in their first game and will now travel to Stockholm where they haven’t been able to pick up a point in two attempts. In fact, they’ve lost 3 out of 4 games against Djurgarden and will likely struggle here again today.
Some of you may remember a player from last season called Nyasha Mushekwi who was good for a goal or two most weeks. Sadly he is no longer with the team after a transfer to China (surprise surprise) but instead I will be taking the man who took over where he left off. Sam Johnson scored 10 goals in 24 starts last season, a goal in their win at Orebro on the weekend, and in each of his last three home games dating back to last season. He even notched one for his home nation Liberia in a 5-0 win just over a week ago, so he knows how to score.

I’m a bit fearful of the Europa matches myself. I got burnt on the CL yesterday, but made up for it on the Copa. Tonight, I’m back on the Allvenskan and mighty Elfsborg at home (where they are traditionally rock solid) against an ordinary looking Hammarby. Elfsborg outplayed Hacken in the opening round, and were only kept out by an awesome display by the Hacken goalie, whilst Hammarby squeaked out a draw (in a game in which they were utterly rubbish) against newly promoted Ostersund.

Really poor card today outwith the Europa League which in terms of the outcomes markets is too close to call today- in my view. It means trawling through matches I wouldn’t normally touch. Starting in the S-League. Last seasons runner up Tampines have made a strong start to the new season and with this game in hand will go top with a win. The visitors Balestier are the only side without a win yet after 6 attempts but have drawn half their matches- lost the last two in a row though. Having watched Ostersunds vs Hammerby on Monday it could be seen that Hammerby were on the backfoot for most of the match despite being at home against the newly promoted side. If it wasn’t for their keeper it could’ve been a rout but he kept the scoreline respectable at 1-1. Elfsborg I imagine should be able to net twice at home against them and there should be a vat of first half corners just as there has been in most of the Allsvenskan matches so far.

Jordan, I’d like to complain. I bet in part to win money, but also for entertainment. 6 minutes of tension is not enough. I also missed the goal as I logged on as they were showing the replay. Evening all, like most on here I dislike betting on the Europa league and so am laying on small stakes. I have done my research however and have found some value…
20:05PM – Braga v Shakhtar
I’ve seen a lot of talk about Shakhtar tonight, and on their day they are a very decent outfit. Brush off Braga at your peril however. At home they’re actually very impressive with Fonseca’s team undefeated at the Municipal in Europe this term. Not only that, but they’ve won 4 from their last 5 there, having drawn the other. What’s even more impressive though is they’ve only lost 2 of their last 28 games at home! These results also show in the game stats with Braga averaging 2.4 team goals at the Municipal and 7.2 corners in their Europa league ties thus far in 2016.
Shakhtar however have scored 7 goals in their last 3 Europa league games including 3 away at the Veltins Arena. They’re no pushover and they do have a chance of scoring tonight – they do average a goal for every away game in Europe this season, however there are doubts around Taison and may need to rely on Eduardo to notch tonight.

This is surely the tie of the round with Klopp visiting his beloved Dortmund. Dortmund have had a magic season both domestically and in European football. They are formidable at the Signal Iduna in 2016 with 14 wins and 2 draws, not many other teams in Europe can boast those stats. For me Dortmund will win tonight, but are too short of any value – having looked at the stats, they’ve scored an average of 3.28 home goals in European ties this season and conceded very few. I’m struggling to see any evidence Liverpool will score tonight and will be going for a small stake bet of Dortmund to win to nil – seems decent value with Bet365. I can see Dortmund grabbing at least two here and with Aubameyang on fire having scored 3 in 2 versus Spurs I like him to score again here.

I know two possible players in that game. Tevez (Boca) Arce (Bolivar). Don’t follow either team or their league so not something I’d look at mate. Too many people bet on games just because they are on.
I know boca have never lost at home to a team from bolivia and the last time they played at boca was 07 which ended 7-0 boca.
Last night river plate beat the strongest 6-0. I reckon those teams compare to boca/bolivar.

You always come out with these stats, and time and time again I see you commenting saying it lost. 07, so 9 years ago, I doubt there is a player even at Boca still from 9 years ago, or Bolivar for that matter. Tell a lie. I know two other players from Boca. Gago and Lodeiro. If you look, Boca started their domestic season terribly and have only just come into form at home. I’d side with Boca Over 2.5 but obviously I’m a goals man.

BOCA JUNIORS VS. BOLÍVAR:
Its fair to say Boca aren’t having their best domestic campaign but there’s undoubtably a gulf in class between themselves and tonight’s visitors from Bolivia.
We all know the deal with Bolivar’s home games; way up in La Paz, altitude is a critical factor and the home side invariably dominate matches.
This was the case in the March fixture with Bolivar gaining a 1-1 draw with the visiting Argentines.
Home ground coupled with Boca’s classier players and footballing style should ensure the win here and although I’ve played around with BTTS markets then Overs and Boca win, there’s too much risk versus value.
Boca have scored 3 and 2 team goals in their last two domestic home fixtures – respectively against Santa Fe and Rafaela who are both better sides than Bolivar.

Cracking shout on the Swedish game – one of the reasons I grew to like Icelandic football as it extends through the summer season.

Works well as the Scandinavian and Nordic leagues are well under way come summer so as the UK leagues come to a close, these leagues are much better to guage for form having already ‘settled in’.

No worries Kelly. Just for a bit of education, Buenos Aires is only around 25m elevated, whereas La Paz is 3,640m. ‘Slight’ difference but maybe they got it mixed up. Usually it benefits the team that plays in altitude most of the time as their respiratory system is used to working harder, so its basically a bit of freedom in lower altitude. Not that it helped The strongest last night…
