THERE are two big games in Scotland – one is a cup final and the other will be played like a cup final.

It’s the Championship clash between Rangers and Hearts that will overshadow the Petrofac Training Cup Final between Alloa and Livingston at McDiarmid Park.

Hearts were crowned champions a fortnight ago and followed up by beating QoS 2-0 at home. There is an argument the Jambos will take their foot of the gas – but I don’t buy into that. Not against Rangers at any rate.

Robbie Neilson’s men have lost just one league game all season and have records to break – points and goals – and the club will be keen to move into the Premier League on a high and full of confidence so losing matches won’t be on the agenda even though squad is likely to be rotated after Easter Sunday.

There’s no doubt Stuart McCall has improved Gers but I’m backing the Jambos at 6-4 with William Hill and Ladbrokes to notch their third win this season against the Ibrox men. Rangers are a best 2-1 with Coral while a draw pays 12-5 with Coral.

It should be an Easter cracker and both teams to score is on at bet365 and Ladbrokes.

For a first scorer I’d consider Osman Sow at McBookie and Ladbrokes. The big striker looks the pick of the bunch at Tynecastle and could give the Ibrox defenders a tough time.

McBookie are offering a risk-free £5 bet on the Challenge Cup Final and one to consider is 7-1 the match goes to penalties. Bookies are finding it tough to pick a winner and go 10-11 each of two of Livingston and Alloa lifting the trophy.

The sides drew 2-2 last week in the league and there is every chance it will go all the way with both scoring likely at 4-5 at bet365.

One bet I’ll look at is Alloa’s Liam Buchanan to score. He’s netted twice against Rangers at Ibrox this season – once more than Kris Boyd has in the league – so he obviously likes the big occasion.

Buchanan’s in good form with four goals in three games and is 15-8 at bet365 to net at any time. The Wasps star is 6-1 joint favourite with McBookie to be man of the match. New signing Michael Chopra is also 6s.

Recommended Bets

Hearts (12.15pm)
(6-4, William Hill)

Buchanan to score (4.05pm)
(15-8, bet365)

Both to score at Rangers-Hearts, Alloa-Livi
(2-1, bet365)

I know it’s jeasy to say after the result but I couldn’t see past Rangers today. As a gers supporter I never back Rangers or Celtic as a rule but I backed Rangers today and against hibs as well for two reasons 1 the price 2 neither of the old firm lose all games to opposition in one season
