TopTips_10Bet

IT was a fairly dramatic day in the Premier League with Arsenal thumping Liverpool and QPR walloping West Brom.

I know which one was the biggest surprise and for me QPR picked the wrong day to turn it on away from home to sink the Super Single.

Man United won convincingly and Chelsea kept on the title trail as it looks more likely Liverpool will miss out on a top-four position.

While I was disappointed with West Brom overall it was an OK day with the Euro Treble, 2+ goals treble and goals single all winning – with each of them featuring PSV who hammered Twente. With the shop tips I had two draws out of four and three aways out of four with a last-minute leveller for Montrose denying my four aways at 10-1.

Easter Sunday is a much quieter card but there are a few big teams in action including Real Madrid, Barcelona and the team that sit third in La Liga before the weekend's action.

That team is Valencia and I'm taking them as the Super Single to beat Villarreal at home. Valencia have won seven in a row at the Mestalla in the league and four on the bounce with Villarreal visiting including 5-1 and 4-0 romps.

Villarreal remain a decent side but have suffered setbacks recently going out of the Europa League and Spanish Cup to Sevilla. They've won just one in six but three defeats were to Sevilla and one to Barcelona.

They are also missing some key men including skipper Bruno Soriano so form and stats points to a Valencia win and I'm going with that.

For the Top Treble I'm starting with Hertha Berlin at home to Paderborn. Hertha aren't safe from the drop but two wins and two draws in the last four have moved them in the right direction. One of the points was picked up in a 2-2 with Schalke and that was a fine display.

A visit from second-bottom Paderborn gives them a great chance to bag another three points. Paderborn started the season well but in the last five they've scored none and conceded 15, losing four matches heavily.

They haven't won or scored since mid-February and Hertha should edge this one at a best 1-1 with the likes of 888sport and William Hill.

Add Bordeaux at home to a Lens side with just one win in 11 as they become doomed to the drop. Bordeaux have been pretty strong at home all season and should bounce back from defeat last time out at Toulouse to keep the heat on the top four.

Complete the treble with Barcelona at Celta Vigo. Barca suffered a shock Nou Camp defeat to Celta back in November but are imperious form just now winning their last two against Real Madrid and Man City.

Barca have won their last five away from home, scoring 20 goals, and should be boosted by Lionel Messi starting after he missed Argentina's two friendlies last week.

Brilliant info from Mr Orange on the Psv match – not for the first time either!

BigDazza if you read the write up it was obviously PSV and just a mistake. Plus for twente would not have been that price either

Anyone who believes Hearts will ease up against Rangers cannot be a Hearts supporter. We would love to humiliate them and then Hibs next week too. 14 goals from last 6 games would take us to 100 and Neilson will want that target.

Nothing that really stands out for me tomrrow in all honesty. Hearts over 1.5 team goals is probably about it.

The only other bet I am on will be the early La liga game Real Madrid vs Granada.

The referee for this match is the infamous Jesus Gil.
Now some of you will know I have flagged this particular referee a few times on here and he has always delivered on the card front…he absolutely loves reaching into his pocket for cards and isnt afraid of booking players or sending them off for that matter.

Here are his stats most recent games first: (Y) yellow (R) red

8 CARDS (inc 2 reds in match)
9 CARDS (inc 2reds in match)
11 CARDS (inc 1 red in match)
10 CARDS (inc 1 red in match)
12 CARDS (inc 2 reds in match)
    10 CARDS

As you can see he is not shy on the card front!!!

The cards issued last times these teams met reads as follows (recent first)
    3,6,6,5,5.

So we are looking around 4/5 cards per game as an avg between these pair based on previous meetings…However Jesus Gil is the referee in this meeting and thats where the difference lies.

Card line is set at 5.5 cards which is reasonable based on the above.

Over 5.5 match cards is 11/10 on B365 and because its Jesus Gil tomorrow I think this stands a good chance of landing. Jesus Gil has served me well so lets hope it continues :)

    Good luck tomorrow gents.

Yeah most here including myself have profited from Hearts/Hibs v Gers, but dont give it all back. Rangers have improved system under new manager and still some decent player.
Of course Moshni will be out so Hearts may have to work for a goal. Maybe stick safe as site system and go goals, so either way pays. What are Hearts playing for, fans want win but players are human and league and job done.

  20. Tony 9 years ago

Funny man ral of course you would love to humiliate us that’s natural cause you are still aware that rangers are have been an always will be a bigger club. Let’s face it you’s don’t really get to win the league very often. Remember even though you won the league at a canter with us in it. Hibs are your biggest rivals always will be. So enjoy this while it lasts.

Yes they are better than us but who cares. We are working our way through an ongoing crisis and when we do it will be back to rangers and celtic fighting it out and hearts playing for top 5. I can understand why you are so happy as you hardly get to see your side lift a cup but if you think winning this league at a canter is a springboard for future glory then im afraid your wrong and very much deluded

    Sunderland -0.5 @ 2.6

The international break couldn’t have come at a better time for Dick Advocaat and Sunderland. It has given him extra time to know his players better and also the players to understand what the new manager wants. Captain Lee Cattermore will be back. He’s the player who makes Sunderland tick both on and off the pitch.

Newcastle recent records in the derby has been rather awful. This could probably be in the minds of the Newcastle players. They come into this game missing key defensive players like Coloccini, Haidara, Taylor and Tiote. In attack, they will miss top scorer Cisse.

    Trival

Advocaat’s two immediate predecessors, Gus Poyet and Paolo Di Canio, also faced Newcastle during their second matches at the helm, both securing slightly unexpected victories.

Lookain’t for a decent bet then look no further than Christiano Ronaldo. It’s hard to find decent value though with prices as short as 2/1 for first goal scorer and 1/6 to score anytime. Anyways I fancy Ronaldo to score so best bet is to back Ronaldo to score a header anytime @ 11/2 with 888sport. He’s only 2/1 for the same bet with Skybet. I’d also advise backing Ronaldo to score anytime from outside the box @ 5/1 again with 888sport. The same bet is only 11/10 with Skybet so that’s some difference.

    Recommended Bets:

Ronaldo to score a header anytime @ 11/2
Ronaldo to score from outside the box anytime @ 5/1

    Good luck everyone

    Morning Guys, Sunday Premier League

    Sunderland v Newcastle

Big game this afternoon and it looks on paper a tough game too call. I personally fancy Sunderland to get the win. They have won the last four derbies, they are at home and even though it is a derby, Sunderland are desperate for the win. Newcastle will be without a couple of starters and three points here could boost their survival chances and a huge morale boost for the run in. I will take a punt on a home win at 13/8 Betvictor.

In the goal scorer market Jermaine Defoe was brought in to score goals and faces a Newcastle side who have conceded 11 goals in their last four games. Defoe hasn’t really hit the ground running and even though Steven Fletcher did me a turn in midweek, the opposition wasn’t up to much, I prefer to be on a rested, more prolific striker like Defoe here. He is 2/1 Betvictor

This looks a feisty game and although Chiek Tiote misses out, Lee Cattermole and Jack Colback are the most booked players in the premier league. (I haven’t seen who been booked in todays games so they may have slipped down)Mike Dean takes charge of the game and he has issued 100 yellows cards and 6 red cards in the 20 games he has been in charge of this season. If you want a punt for the whole match and cant decide who will win then Cattermole is 1/1 to be shown a card at Paddy Power and EX Mackem Jack Colback, who the crowd will be jeering his every tackle is 7/5 Paddy Power.

The Lunch time appetiser looks good for goals to me, Burnley beat Man City in their last home game and have scored in 11 of 15 home games. Both teams to score and O2.5g look good bets but at odds on I am going leave them alone. Tottenham have scored 2 and 4 goals against Burnley this season, 8 of their last 9 games have seen them score at least two goals, and they have only failed two score on the road at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford. Apart from those two games O1.5g as landed in 7 of 8 away games with only Palace going under. Tottenham O1.5g is 1/1 Coral.

    SUNDERLAND TO WIN 13/8
    DEFOE TO SCORE 2/1
CATTERMOLE TO BE SHOWN A CARD 1/1 (check teams news)
COLBACK TO BE SHOWN A CARD 7/5 (check team news)
    TOTTENHAM O1.5g 1/1

    Happy Easter!

Good luck if your having a bet

They have Spurs to beat burnley @2.15 sounds like a steal

    • PeteT 9 years ago

      @Liam – it’s 2.2 at Betfair exchange with 300k+ matched.

I’m not sure Tottenham will have a walk in the park to be honest. Burnley will be quite physical and getting in Tottenhams’s faces. Fighting for survival and at home they could be dangerous. Not saying Tottenham won’t win, but 2.1 – 2.2 is probably a fair price.

Given the last 3 games between Tottenham and Burnley have seen goals for each team and last time Tottenham played Burnley at home (in Jan) I’d be tempted to say that BTTS YES looks a better option at 1.7 as I think both teams will score at least once.

      Good Luck

guys, just be careful on the Bordeaux match.

Lens are a weak team and on top of that they will be without their scorer Touzghar.
But when looking at Bordeaux it may not seem that easy match. They are also without many key players including two defenders – captain Sane (red carded in previous match lost to Toulouse) and Pallois (injured) and 3 midfielders: Plasil, Chantome and Khazri. That’s half of their starting lineup. Though I agree they have quality players to win this one, I will be cautious on this match.

Agree with you on that PeteT. especially after QPR yesterday…the teams at the bottom half of the table need points to stay up now its simple as that!! QPR showed put on a strong performance to carve out a decent away win where majority of people expected a fairly comfy WBA win inc me!!

BTTS looks a good shout based on h2hs but the price reflects that at 8/13 which The Chief eluded to on his write up. Btts and Over 2.5mg is the better option at EVENS I feel.

@Interyernan – The QPR result was a shocker but, as we know, some amazing results get pulled out of the bag for survival.

Agreed on the BTTS and o2.5 goals (hadnt thought about that – too early when I typed but obvious way to sneak a bit of value. I see a 2-1 scoreline potentially in this match but, what I dont know, is who will win…..

Obviously the other good thing is that as soon as BTTS or BTTS and o2.5 comes in there no way of losing :o) I wouldn’t put a late goal past Tottenham to change the result (they seem to be the last minute goal experts!). Oh to think I used to bet on the WDW market all the time and get some annoyed when my winning bet turned into a loser in the 94th minute!

  83. InterYerNan 9 years ago

Pete T the over Btts and over 2.5mg market has served me well recently and as you quite rightly point out your not relying on any team to win.

I have minimised WDW bets now to the minimum and just concentrate on goals which seems to be working well. Most of that is down to Raal and Greg etc who have shown time and time again this way of betting is the way forward.

Obviously the wdw market does have its merits on occasion..like yesterday where Mr Orange informed us the athe Twente team were resting most of its key players for a cup match next week. Team news like this is invaluable and help us the punter make a more informed decision – like a few who took psv on the straight win and on/or the handicap.

    Good luck for today mate.

Why did I have to add hearts over 1.5 team goals to the last of my acca.

  112. InterYerNan 9 years ago

    ***lost***

Jesus must have had a speaking to during the international break about his card habits. Was worth a dabble as he has been good to me in the past. We move on.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Hearts to win the rest of the match 8/11 with rangers down to 10 men? Excellent odds

  130. raaljacas phone 9 years ago

Baldy, won’t argue as we are shocking and dropping Eckerskey from the squad wasnt expected. Sow playing out wide is also a bit daft but there you go, on the plus side it hurts Hibs even more. Might see a bit of effort next 45 with the man advantage.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

raaljacas phone, combination of Rangers being good and Hearts poor. Mohsni coming on now and I’m on Hearts at 4-7 to score against 10 men. If they’re up for it and score early can still turn this around. But that 45 was Rangers’ best season of the season and McCall deserves credit for it – but what a stupid red for McCulloch with his side cruising.

    BTTS @ 4/6 looks likely.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

I’m a Clydebank fans so I’m totally neutral. Comments from Rangers fans about Hearts are daft. Sure, Rangers have been the better side today but look at the table before claiming they’re better overall.

  139. PeteT 9 years ago

@Ross. Without wanting to state the obvious Hearts are top of the league for a reason. Even the best teams have off days but you cant deny that Hearts have performed week in, week out – something that Rangers haven’t done this season.

I’m not a Rangers hater (I feel quite sad for what happened to the club – especially as it wasn’t the fans or players fault) but, from an impartial viewpoint, you cant deny what great job the whole Hearts team (players, manager and behind the scenes) have done this year.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Alasu57, goal keeps alive my btts Scots double and inplay win on Hearts to score next but overall I called the game wrong and if Rangers keep playing like this they will finish second and very possibly be promoted when that looked unlikely a couple of weeks ago. Off to lunch – hopefully the rest of the day’s bets go well.

  144. Ross 9 years ago

I agree with you Pete, and for what its worth I don’t want to come across as a sore loser so apologies if I do. My point is that some hearts fans seem to be getting carried away with themselves on the back of what is, by my own admission an exceptional season. Hearts have strolled the league, Rangers have toiled, under better management I don’t think that would have been the case and Im sure most Hearts fans would agree. The players have copped some amount of flak, but the truth is at the end of the day, the calibre of players at Rangers should be good enough to finish 2nd/3rd in the SPL, realistically no team outwith Celtic should be able to live with Rangers over the course of the season. But footballs a funny old game :)

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Ross, you can’t turn the clock back. Hearts have been great and we know why Rangers haven’t. Still loads of stuff to sort out at Ibrox before you can talk about challenging for second. At the moment I’d back Hearts to finish above Rangers next season if both are promoted.

  145. tbone 9 years ago

There is no way hearts will finish above rangers once we buy players and if we get promoted. I hope thats not a super single tip

And well said ross nice to see a hearts fan who lives in the real world

  146. baldy45 9 years ago

The current Rangers side would be nowhere near 2nd in the SPL. The dandy Dons would maul them, and a few other sides would be too good for them. But next season is different. We all know they’ll buy a new team before August.

    • GaryEdinburgh 9 years ago

Hearts look good in championship, but in SPL be mid table if best. Lets no forget a rebuilding job also. Rangers likewise be mid table.
But as gers fan, every game be a cup final as could win/lose or draw any game v dundee united/dons etc (Celtic steam roll both teams)

Will take time both, 5th or 6th place either teams.imo. Thinking either will be pumping rest of spl week in and out. No chance

    • raaljaca 9 years ago

maxi, what is a tip? It is where you put up your selection and add the best price available and what bookie it is with. Opinions are a different thing and Hearts were, in my opinion, a decent bet not to lose and also to score 2 or more. We were shocking and every supporter I know are pissed off at the teams attitude. We never tried and still only lost by one. League is won and that was the target and that is what has made us plenty off the bookies. Rangers? a poor side who I still doubt will get promoted.

Backed Colback to be booked anytime, not researched anything today but i think I’m right in saying he’s the most booked this year with 10.. big derby Colback a big newcastle fan, knows what it means, ex sunderland player, likely to get boo’s.. could get frustrated… not to mention he’s a clever player and always willing to take the professional foul and be booked for a pull back.

    2.20 with Paddypower

Also will look inplay for another goal after 80 minutes, can’t remember who stated it from the H2H, but good spot!

    BRENTFORD VS NOTTINGHAM FOREST

I mentioned in my Friday championship picks that Brentford had the highest BTTS record in the league at 62% and my pick for their last game game in trumps with btts and over 2.5mg.

They played away superbly against Fulham and left craven cottage with a win and banging in 4 goals whilst also conceding.

That win means their last 6 games have now seen BTTS AND OVER 2.5MG land and I am happy to take some more of the same against Forest.

Forest scored against wolves In their last game in a late 90th min goal, and wolves defence has been pretty tight all season so scoring isnt too much of an issue for Forest proven by their last 6 away games where out of 5 they have scored against their opponents.

H2Hs also look promising for goals and BTTS with the last two h2h seeing this bet land (1-3, 2-4 ).

The reverse fixture Brentford won, scoring 3 past forest in November and yes you have guessed it leaking a goal in the process.

    SO what do we know….

BRENTFORD ARE SCORING FOR FUN HITTING 9 GOALS IN THEIR LAST 3 GAMES BUT ALSO CONCEDING IN ALL 3.

FOREST HAVE SCORED IN 5 OF THEIR LAST 6 AWAY GAMES AND THE H2Hs POINT TO MORE OF THE SAME.

    Picks

    BTTS AND OVER 2.5MG 21/20 B365

BRENTFORD OVER 2.5 TEAM GOALS 12/5 B365 **Small stake**

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

InterYerNan, Brentford, Wolves and Bournemouth have been tipped already and I’d add Derby to that lost at Wigan.

  192. InterYerNan 9 years ago

    Wolves vs Leeds

My hometown football club welcome Leeds to the Molineux. Wolves are in fine form with 3 wins in a row and now sitting in 8th position level on points with Ipswich and Derby with only 7 points seperating them from league leaders Middlesbrough and only goal difference keeping them out the top six.

Based on the last 8 matches Wolves actually sit 2nd in the form table ( 8 played, 5 won, 2 drawn, 1 lost), behind league leaders Middlesbrough and could realistically be in line for a chance in the play offs with the players and the manager Jackett knowing that they must continue their form and push for wins.

Wolves home form is strong winning 4 out their last 5 home games and a draw against Watford. In those last 5 home games the have also managed to score 2 or more goals and they are not lacking the firepower at the moment with man of the moment Afobe. Since Afobe moved to Wolves from Arsenal in January the youngster has been on fire, scoring 19 goals in all competitions and scoring in Wolves last game against Forest to secure a 2-1 win.

Now onto the away team Leeds who lost at home to Blackburn on Friday with midfielder Rodolph Ausitn red carded in the first half. Prior to that game Leeds were awa y to Blackpool in a game in which everyone including the Blackpool fans expected Leeds to win.
The Leeds camp itself has been the news last week with the managers expressing his concerns that he felt he was being undermined by the clubs owners after his assistant was suspended for underperforming.

H2H, wolves earnt a 2-1 against Leeds in the reverse fixture t with leon Clarke sealing a late winner, and prior to that the last H2H saw a 2-2 draw.

I cant see past a Wolves win here, taking everything into account – its worth keeping an eye on the early championship games tomorrow as teams above wolves may slip up and if so Wolves will no doubt be eager to capitalise.

    PICKS

WOLVES TO SCORE 2 or more goals – 4/5 B365
    WOLVES WIN – 4/6 B365
    AFOBE TO SCORE ANYTIME – 5/4 b365

    • craigyboy 9 years ago

Interyanan I’m all over Wolves at the minute. The team that played at Forest is our strongest 11 IMO.
Wolves were superb! Game plan of sit tight and weather the storm for the first 30 worked a treat as we grew into the game. Second half we expressed ourselves a bit more and in truth could have scored more. Wolves are very capable of scoring 2+ every game between now and the end of the season. Sako and Afobe made it look so easy at times on Friday.
I advised on here to get on Wolves to make the play offs at 3/1 a couple of weeks ago and we’re hitting top form at just the right time. I predicted a wobble from Brentford and Ipswich and I still think Brentford’s will come. The surprise for me is Derby who don’t have a win in EIGHT now! They go to Wigan tomorrow who happened to beat them at the iPro earlier on in the season.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

craigboy, Derby’s my Super Single – they have to win. Hopefully Derby fan nathan will have his say. If he backs against his own side it could be worth listening to him and take Brentford instead.

  193. PeteT 9 years ago

No Steve, a poor performance from Valencia. They’ve never had a 0-0 draw with VillaReal. Didn’t see many people (including me) doubting it before the match.

    BOURNEMOUTH VS BIRMINGHAM

Bournemouth welcome Birmingham in a game that BOURNEMOUTH need to win to keep up the pressure for promotion after their 1-1 draw to Ipswich. I stated in my preview I felt Ipswich were tough to beat at home and I reckoned they would end with at least a point and I was right.

Now Bournemouth are on home soil in a game they should win. Their home form has been fairly solid with 3 home wins in their last 3 scoring 3,4 and 2 goals respectively.

Birmingham won at home on Friday and will be boosted by that win, their away form however is not as good as their home form. IN their last 4 away games they have conceded 12 goals, with Ipswich and Brighton putting 4 past the Blues defence.

I think Bournemouth will no doubt be after Blues blood tomorrow and I am expecting them to get back to winning ways in style against Birmingham.

To reinforce this we need to look at the last 2 h2hs which read as 0-8 and 0-4 Bournemouth winning both.

The 8 nil thumping was back in oct with a early red for Birmingham opening the flodgates. obviously a lot has changed since then with Blues appointing a new manager in the form of Gary Rowett soon after.

I am however going for more goals in this fixture which leads me to my picks:

BOURNEMOUTH WIN AND OVER 2.5MG @ EVENS b365
    BOURNEMOUTH OVER 2.5 TEAM GOALS @ 11/8 b365

  211. malcolm caithness 9 years ago

    Rangers 2/1 at Coral ,

We have a descent goalkeeper back from injury, they are playing as a team now that knows what there job is and who to mark thanks to McColl,

Those Hearts players where trying alright and as I said above, McColl they know what the is required from each player he also giving the young lads a chance that’s about 5 different lads we’ve seen since he took over ,

All we need is two centre backs as the 3 that hold it 2 are slow and then there Mohsni a mistake every game off him , the good thing is McCulloch out for 3 games , I’ve been to all home games this season and what Templeton said in DR paper is right even Boyd looks as if he’s lost about 2 stone , I think he’s been off to a health farm

Was a cracking day out Tony mate but really annoyed at the attitude of nearly every player in our side. We have won the league easily but it would have been decent for them to make a bit more effort. Put 4 pts on Barcelona -2.0 AH at 2.50 with Bet365… no research into this again, just not being feeling it this weekend. However, i know a lot about La Liga… basing it on the fact Barca need to respond after Madrids 9-1 Massacre this morning and also seeing as CR7 netted 5 times and stormed back to the front for the Pichichi, Messi has a habit of responding, I’m sure he’ll be extra motivated despite being missing out midweek through injury.. suarez and neymar can help with a goal or two and i think Celta can score tonight, but Barca actually have a decent defensive record this year.

Never any shame in defeat Tony if you give your best but today that team shamed the strip by just going through the motions and it really annoys me with all we have achieved so far. Rangers are better under McCall mate but have a long way to go still. Hibs are bottling it as usual.

Hello Mr Jordan. They tend to be close games but I was impressed with RSL last time out & they have a couple of players back from internationals. Both teams have had a pretty good start to the season. GL in-play mate.

Just a quick on before tomorrow’s thread goes up.

Does anyone have any info on Rochdale? I notice they are 21/20 at home (won 4 of 4) against port vale (havent picked up a single point in 5 games).

Rochdale shouldnt be taking there foot off the gas as a playoff position is still well up for grabs. Whilst port vale are sweating as they near relegation spot.

Got to laugh or you would cry at this betting game sometimes.

Lumps on Cesar Vallejo who won there last 6 at home against a side who have lost There last 6 away and only scored once in those 6. Top against bottom and yep the fing away side win 1-2

Went to lump on Barcelona and they bloody scored just before i could get the bet through :-(

In a final fling doubled Ponte Preta (lost 1 at home in 6) with Vasco (lost 1 away in 6) form and stats looked good and yep you guessed it both losing at half time.

Unless Vasco can turn a 2-4 deficit around and Ponte preta can turn a 0-1 deficit around i will be left with around 5 point s in my bank.

I think i will enjoy the break :-)

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

David, you know I’ve mentioned your betting habits before. I think you risk too many points on the one day and if you lose you don’t need to try to recoup it the same day – wait until you see something you like. If it was as easy as backing teams on form to beat teams off form we’d win hands down. But a team on a winning run is often due a defeat and vice versa. You need to look at other things such as the quality of the opposition they’ve faced on those runs, team news and also head-to-head results. I think you should just slow down – risk losing no more than 10 per cent if your betting bank a day and if you do stop for that day.

Thanks for the top treble Mr F, nice one.

  266. James Slater 9 years ago

MR.F i need your assistance urgently with an issue i am having with William Hill..

I placed a treble earlier this evening on Novak Djokovic, Barcelona and Ibrahimovic to score anytime.

William Hill settled the bet as WON and now im seeing in my account history an Unsettled Bet and they have minus’d my account balance for the winnings of the bet?

I have money that i withdrew last night from my account than can be reversed up until 10pm tomorrow evening and i believe they will not let me withdraw this until i put it back into my account and then settle the difference.

This has never ever happened to me before with anything, can someone please tell me what to do/what is going on?

Raal, Capone etc your input would be greatly appreciated here

    • Jordan 9 years ago

James. Ibrahimovic didn’t score mate. It was an own goal.

    • PeteT 9 years ago

      @JamesSlater
I didnt watch the PSG match but according to Live Scores Ibrahimovic didnt score (or at least hasn’t been credited with a goal). I guess thats why they’ve reversed (was there some controversy here – either an own goal or initially incorrectly awarded?)

If that’s the case there’s not much you can do. Bookies can re-settle incorrect bets (in and out of your favour). Their terms and conditions allow them to do this and if there are funds in your account (even pending for withdrawal) they can use this to contra.

Depending on the circs of the Ibrahimovic you may be able to plead with WH but anything they do would be a gesture of goodwill. There have been occasions where goalscorer bets which are blatantly incorrect (the bookies use the official results from the Press Association for the UK matches or other stated authority for other regions) where the bookies have honoured the correct scorer as a gesture of goodwill but this is always done without accepting liability they are obliged to settle that bet or future bets with the same goodwill).

I appreciate this isn’t what you want to hear but it sounds like you may struggle to get the bet reversed back in your favour.

      Sorry mate.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

PeteT, went to the pub after walking the dug so first I’m hearing about it but what you say is spot on.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

James, as PeteT says they’re entitled to do it if Ibrahimovic isn’t being give the goal.

  267. George 9 years ago

David im not one to tell people what they should do but I think you need to start been more disciplined. You seem to rush into bets and “lump on” as you say because you’ve just lost. If you lose a bet it should not dictate what you do next and make you panic bet, maybe follow a few regulars on here for a bit until you get a feel of what kind of betting behaviour you feel works best, always research. Goals is always a good place to start, maybe stick to lower odds o1.5goals Etc to build the balance up a bit. Like I say never try panic and chase your losses, I was up 100pts give or take a few only the other week then had a bit of a bad run and was down to 30pts but I stuck to what I know and didn’t place a bet unless I was fully confident it would come in and now back up to +112pts.. Research, discipline and patience is key and will pay off in the long run even if it means not betting 1 day because you don’t like the days games. .. Good luck anyway

  268. overeem 9 years ago

DAVID betting doesn’t suit your personality…i suggest you stop for good before it’s too late.

  269. James Slater 9 years ago

Thanks for the info Pete T you’ve been a great help. I’ll give them a ring tomorrow and see what they bave to say. Not getting my hopes up though! Just a bit of a shock to see thats all

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

James, officially the PSG goals has been given as an own goal so that’s what William Hill have to go with. The only way they’d look at it sympathetically is if there is a good argument for the goal to be given to Ibrahimovic but I’ve not seen it. Remember bookies don’t decide who to pay out on – they’re told who they must pay out on.

  270. Jordan 9 years ago

Dave if you’re losing money mate I wouldn’t go and chase it back on South American Cup games for starters. I had a bad day and did chase my losses but it was on a league and team I was familiar with (PSG goals). You seem to rush into bets if you lose, fair enough we all might do it but at least make it worth while with what you know and don’t just go by stats mate, especially in South American leagues. Standard of football is almost as poor as the conference.

  271. James Slater 9 years ago

    @Pete T, Jordan, Mr.F..

I’ve just reversed it, cannot be bothered with the hassle as by the sounds of it it’s leading down a one way street to nowhere and i’ll just have to do it anyway sooner rather than later. Been using Hills too long to kick up a fuss and as Pete T said, i highly doubt they’d do it as a gesture of goodwill as the amount was a fair few hundred.

Pretty gutting but what can you do?

I could have sworn it went down initially as an Ibra goal it flagged up everywhere at the time that Zlatan had scored it.

    What a bummer

  272. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Well the all to score 5-fold came in at 2.47/1 but nothing at all in San Jose. Slowly getting miffed with MLS at the moment as I’m losing focus on better games. Sorry all.

    • Jordan 9 years ago

It’s those Liverpool results getting you down mate haha, good stuff on the five fold.

  273. James Slater 9 years ago

Thank you for the sound advice Mr.F

I watched the game and it did appear to me that Ibra did get the final touch on the ball and he went away after the goal went in like he had scored it and looked to claim the goal itself but if the bookies have put it down as an OG then who am i to argue against that?

Have you ever known anybody Mr.F that has been sucessful in arguing a legitimate case regarding a goal being awarded before to a bookies?

Still considering ringing them up tomorrow but bookies being bookies i cant see it going anywhere

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

James, if you think Ibrahmovic got the final touch and a mistake has been made they might consider paying out as a “goodwill gesture” and it has happened in the past. If that’s the case ask if their traders will watch a tape and make a decision. Even if they agree they still don’t have to pay but may do so if they feel an injustice has been served.

    • Jordan 9 years ago

James not trying to upset you mate but I watched the game as I had a bet on the PSG goals, and it was 100% an own goal. This also clarifies it on a couple angles. Sorry boss. http://www.flashscores.co.uk/match/fZ3zoHl3/#video

    • PeteT 9 years ago

      @JamesSlater
As I mentioned earlier it’s hard to comment as I didn’t watch the game (although commentary I’ve seen on line says it was a own goal – although obviously created (dare I say, assisted?) by Ibra.

It’s still worth having a chat with William Hill. As long as you’re reasonable and polite you may get some sympathy. It probably won’t mean a bet settlement in your favour (unless, as Mr F says, it’s obviously an Ibra goal and they feel you’ve been hard done by) but you may get a free bet or similar as a gesture of goodwill. Explain your case and viewpoint calmly and reasonably with them – it goes without saying you’ll get a more sympathetic response.

You asked Mr F if he’s knows anyone who has got a legitimate goalscorer bet which is obviously wrong settled and I know he does (it’s him!). Around 18 months ago there was a case in the SPL where the first goalscorer bet was obviously incorrectly awarded by the Press Association. I think some punters tried to appeal to the bookies with no luck but Mr F got them to pay out on the correct goalscorer (they paid on the awarded goalscorer too I think too). Point is, whilst Joe Public would struggle to get a decision Mr F’s connections and position as a writer with the Daily Record clearly helps. The article that Mr F published (see https://mrfixitstips.co.uk/2013/11/19/bookie-pays-out-on-thompson/) also probably helps as the positive marketing is worth paying out some goodwill even if the bets are technically losers according to the rules.

So have a chat with them if you think you have a case – you have nothing to lose and, if you’ve been a good loyal customer, they may well give you some goodwill at least.

Good Luck if you do try and speak to them.

Crazy mate, was so tempted on the Whitecaps goals last night with their decent form and good record against Galaxy at home but decided on Seattle RT2. Yay haha

  283. David Wiseman 9 years ago

Yep seriously need to chill and slow the f down, Made some odd decisions over the last couple of weeks and spending way to much time betting. Also betting on teams and leagues I know nothing about other than stat based info.

Going to have 4.65 points left (-95.35 points)

I will try and build this back up slowly but will not be putting any more into the pot.

Overeem you could be right bud as I do have an addictive personality and chuck myself into things 100 per cent often at the sacrifice of other more important things in my life.

I have built up from this point before and hope to do so again, that was just betting on premiership and the main European leagues at 0.5 and 1 point bets.

Not sure why I started betting bigger and bigger?

Challenge to turn 4.65 into 100 points, not likely but you never know :-)

  284. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Haha well as you probably know I went for Seattle & LA team goals, silly me! Ha.

Vancouver first half was tight from what I saw but they totally owned LA second half. The red card for Seattle was the show stopper, they were happy just to take the 3 points in the end.

Slight consolation was Portland romped their team goals + Urruti scored! Yay!

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Shaun I didn’t check this thread last night mate but we were in the same boat then haha

Dave mate honestly I used to have my fair share of joy in South America (betting, not women wise, although I wish that could have been the case) but stick to the big leagues in Europe with the big players as it’s all well going by stats but doesn’t always work out. Stay closer to home mate and like Shaun says take a couple weeks out if you need to.

  285. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

David my advice would be to withdraw everything in your accounts, take 1-2 weeks out from betting & either come back refreshed or don’t bother with it.

Bettings never worth getting stressed, betting= hobbie not a chore! :)

  286. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Kansas & Cerro both to score in the 2nd half DOUBLE 1.75/1

    Small stake- Dwyer 4th goal 11/2 & Mandrada 4th goal 18/1

  287. David Wiseman 9 years ago

Jordan and Shaun, will be taking in easy for a bit. Have got a bit obsessed with bet after bet. Just looked back over my betting history and roughly 10k spent with just over 9k back in about three months, shocking figures.

Some place down the line it stopped being fun and has become a habit, such as checking the phone first thing in the morning to see if that overnight bet won or every time it buzzes checking if the result is going your way.

I could quite easily chuck another grand in and go again but I think I an going to chill and see if I can build up slowly.

  288. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

FFS no goals in Cerro, shocking!

All in-plays involving Cerro down + Belen in-play earlier. So 0/4 in-play bets.

Quilmes BTTS pre-match comes in at 11/8.

  289. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Bit of joy here. The BTTS pre-match bet in San Martin comes in at 11/10. BTTS double at 3.98/1 & I’ve just covered the over 2.5 mg DOUBLE by going UNDER at 11/4.

    Pleased with that.

  290. Richard 9 years ago

Quilmes team goals over 3.5 goals if you’re quick. They scored 2 in first half against 11 men and now score again against 10 men and am sure they will again. Great price at 2/1 with 13 mins left

  291. Jordan 9 years ago

It can get bad mate. No point just chucking in another grand for the sake of it. Try and limit yourself mate. I know its hard with so many bets on here, I’ve learnt the hard way too, but honestly mate you’re better off sticking to the bigger leagues/games and spending an hour a day and if you’re unsure then just leave it.

  292. Richard 9 years ago

Well they had plenty more shots but just couldn’t get another in the goal!

  293. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Will go over 1.5 FHG in the Tolima match 11/10 with BTTS in 1st half 7/4

  294. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

What ever you do David, don’t chuck a grand on utd to win the title! Haha.

  295. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

No worried Richard, I could see where you were coming from with the away team on the back foot with 10 men.

I’m just in shock someone is still reading the end off this thread! Ha.

  296. Richard 9 years ago

  302. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Will go over 3.5 mg in Tolima 6/5 & BTTS in 2nd half 3/1.

  303. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

There’s one goal for you Richard! :)

VP- I used to but it kind of clogged the thread for people I think. This way the thread finishes when I’ve done and no one need look at it again! Ha. I do post a lot some nights though to be fair.

  304. V P 9 years ago

True but when you have wins like today I don’t think anyone would mind and a lot more will see them.

  305. V P 9 years ago

And I won’t clog it up that much there’s already 30 comments on the new one today and if you put your bets on if you’d be the only one who’s putting current stuff on

  306. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Yeah I see what you mean mate. I might just pop my bets up on both & leave any other posts for the older thread. My main aim these days on here is just to try & do what I do without upsetting anyone as I go, which is easier said than done at times. :)

  307. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

There won’t be 2 more goals in Tolima now, so 2nd half bets down, worth a shot though I thought. Night all.

  308. V P 9 years ago

That would work keeping everything on the new one concise to appease the ones who hate too much much space being used up.

  309. V P 9 years ago

Maybe try next time anyway, night
