THE only online bookie that lists SPFL and cup first-scorer prices for every game are McBookie.
McBookie‘s Damian Walker is back with his first-scorer tips and he’s also challenging punters to pick their own. Every week one person with a correct prediction will be chosen at random to win a £10 bet. Last week there were no winners.
You can comment with your pick here and give any reasoning but to enter the contest you have to email [email protected] Bonus excluders don’t qualify for the prize.
Quote player’s club and first-scorer price with McBookie – Scottish league games only – for a chance to win.
You can choose this weekend from Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two. One correct entry will be picked at random to win the prize. Quote player, team, his odds and a reason if you like.
Meanwhile, here is McBookie.com’s Damian Walker with his Saturday selections.
Damian says: “One good winner last week with Adam Rooney and one of my other selections just missed out by scoring the second goal.
“I am starting this week in League One and rather than basing the first selection on hard facts and form this will be more of a finger in the air one.
“For almost three years Albion Rovers have performed wonders for boss Darren Young under a tight budget and yet this week Young was informed by letter his services will not be needed next season and that goes for his assistant Billy Stark and goalkeeping coach Lindsay Hamilton.
“This must be galling for Young as earlier this season he was denied a move when an approach was made for him by another club. Morale must now be rock bottom at Rovers and you wouldn’t be surprised to see a seriously below-par effort this weekend away to Brechin.
“The Hedgemen will be desperate for the points as they sit on 46 points along with three other clubs all hoping to make the play-offs.
“Brechin’s Andy Jackson has nine goals from his last 13 matches and McBookie make him 4-1 to score the opening goal.
“In the Championship we have a real do-or-die game between second-bottom St Mirren and Raith who are just one place higher.
“St Mirren look to be on the verge of staging a Houdini-like escape from relegation and a win would go a long way to maintaining their Championship status for next season following a great recent run of form.
“Raith came so close to taking a point from a weakened Hibs side in midweek and I expect that game will have taken a lot out of them.
“A fresh Budddies side with home advantage should have too much for Raith and on-loan Dundee striker Rory Loy can grab the opener for St Mirren at 9-2 with McBookie.
“Finally in a rare jaunt into the Premiership I just have to be against Dundee who are 85-40 to win away at Motherwell.
“I couldn’t back that price even with stolen money as Dundee have lost seven on the bounce and scored just two goals in 10-and-a-half hours of football – even if they have a new boss in Neil McCann.
“Motherwell scored as many goals in just nine minutes last Saturday when they took an early 2-0 lead at home to bottom-side Inverness Caley Thistle. Well went on to win that game 4-2 and I’d be surprised if they don’t beat Dundee.
“Striker Louis Moult has 16 goals in all competitions for Motherwell this season and has been linked with a summer move to Rangers and several English clubs. He’ll want to keep his stock rising with some late-season goals and must be rubbing his hands at the prospect of a visit from Dundee. Back him at 4-1 to score first.”
“Can you find a winner this weekend!”
Jackson (Brechin) 4-1
Loy (St Mirren) 9-2
Moult (Motherwell) 4-1
