Apr 23: Scottish Betting Preview

HIBS are 6-1 to finish the season on the ultimate high by winning promotion and the Scottish Cup. It is 5-2 they will be promoted and lose the Scottish Cup Final to Rangers.

It is 11-8 Hibs fail to win promotion and Rangers lift the Scottish Cup. The Ibrox men will be presented with their second piece of silverware this season after facing relegated Alloa at home.

Title parties often fall flat but Ibrox will be jumping – helped by last week’s Old Firm win – and Alloa are likely to be hit hard by Mark Warburton’s men.

They’ve conceded four or more twice to the champions this season and at least four on three of their last six trips to Ibrox.

Warburton will want to return to winning ways after the midweek defeat at Hibs and while Gers are no bigger than 1-9 at McBookie there’s value to add if you believe those h2h stats will come to the four.

Rangers to win and over 3.5 match goals is 5-6 at Paddy Power and to score four or more the Ibrox men are 23-20 with Coral. To win 4-0 you can have 8-1 at bet365 and Rangers -3 pays 19-10 at McBookie while -2 is safer and should trap at 9-10 with Stan James.

Barrie McKay has enjoyed an outstanding week with wonder goals against Celtic and Hibs and is 7-4 at Betfred to score again while penalty taker Andy Halliday looks value at 11-4 with Coral. McKay is 2-1 with William Hill to score from outside the box.

There’s a fierce fight for second spot with Hibs three points behind Falkirk with a game in hand. Whoever loses out faces a two-legged quarter-final play-off against Raith and that’s the Bairns destination today.

Raith have lost just one in 13 but may lack motivation today so while both to score looks likely at 2-3 with Ladbrokes the visitors could edge it and are 29-20 at Coral.

Hibs’ hectic spell continues with a tough trip to Morton whose only motivation is to finish above St Mirren. Alan Stubbs’s side should have their confidence restored after beating Dundee United on penalties then seeing off Rangers.

However, Morton won the last meeting between the sides 3-0 at Easter Road so Hibs look extremely short at 8-13 with bet365. Jason Cummings wiped away the memory of his Panenka shocker with the winning penalty at Hampden followed by the opener against Rangers and is 21-10 with McBookie to net and 4-1 to score first.

At the other end of the table Livingston need a miracle to escape the relegation play-offs but could stay alive for another week by winning at managerless QoS. They are 2-1 at McBookie.

Livi need Dumbarton to flop and I like St Mirren, transformed under Alex Rae, at 6-4 with bet365 with Stevie Mallan a possible scorer at an overpriced 4-1 with bet365.

It’s split time in the Premiership with the relegation play-off place the only live issue – unless you believe Aberdeen can catch Celtic.

Today’s top-six game should be entertaining between Motherwell and Hearts. It was 2-2 at Fir Park earlier this season and I’m on another score draw

Dundee were disappointed to miss the top six and may have to settle for a point at Partick Thistle.

In the lower leagues today go against the champions. Take Airdrie to beat Dunfermline at 7-2 (McBookie) and Berwick against East Fife at 12-5.

Bets to Consider

Cummings (Hibs) to score

Mallan (St Mirren) to score

    Raith v Falkirk
I agree with the BTTS in this game but Raith will be will be fully motiated for this game and will want to keep up the momentum going into the play offs They drew 2-2 with the Bairns (away) last time they met and they will be fired up and ready for falkirk in the early evening kick off at the San Starko. Im confident we will see Over 2.5 as they are both scoring goals for fun.

    Last 8 games

    BTTS Raith 6/8
    BTTS Falkirk 6/8

    OVER2.5 Raith5/8
    OVER 2.5 Falkirk 5/8

    GOALS For Raith 20/9
    GOALS For Falkirk 17/9
