TOP two Michael van Gerwen and Dave Chisnall are looking to secure a play-off place on Thursday night as the darts Premier League hits Cardiff.
Van Gerwen and Gary Anderson both play twice on the night and meet in the final match in which the Dutchman is 21-20 at Boylesports for victory and the Flying Scotsman is 39-19 at 888sport.
Van Gerwen earlier takes on James Wade and needs just one win on the night to guarantee a top-four finish.
Chizzy could do the same with a victory and takes on reigning champ Raymond van Barneveld who has hit a bit of form recently, winning two in a row and ending van Gerwen's unbeaten record last week. Chisnall looks tempting at 11-8 with Ladbrokes while Barney is 6-4 at Skybet.

Nishikori v Giraldo (tennnis)
Nishikori is the second favourite to win this tournament (behind Rafa) and has won 4 of his last five matches without dropping a set. He’s 1/10 to win and 1/3 to win 2-0. However last time he played Giraldo on clay was last year in the same tournament and Nish actually won the match 6-2 6-2. I fancy a similar scoreline this morning.

So far, I like two picks:
KC (Royals) to win at the White Sox ML @2.20 or -1.5 on the RL @3.10. Both have top pitchers on the mound tonight in Ventura and Sale but KC is better in all major batting categories and should win this one.
The second is the Braves at the Mets – ML @2.05 or for the adventurous, RL-1.5 @2.90. This is based on my gut saying the Mets are massively over-achieving right now (winning 10-in-a-row) and also that the Braves, with Teheran who most of the time owns the Mets, opposing an aging Bartolo Colon. This run will end soon and I think it will be tonight.

Afternoon Guys, Wakefield Wildcats v Wigan Warriors
Tonights tv game comes from the Rapid Solicitors Stadium as the Wildcats host the in form Warriors. These two met 5 weeks ago and it was Wigan who came out on top at the DW Stadium 52-10, and another convincing win looks the liekly outcome tonight.
Wigan, played out one of the games of the season last Thursday night in a 30-20 win over the Warrington Wolves and they head to Wakefield with an umchanged aquad as they unbelievably look for their first away win since last July. I think they will end that poor run against a side who they have beaten 30 times out the last 37. I will be on Wigan to score O7.5 tries at 6/5 Paddy Power.
The handicap doesnt interest me here. If that win over Warrington and a busy Easter period hasnt took it out of Wigan then they could cover, however it is a big hancicap to cover on the road. Instead I will have a punt in the try scorer market. I’m only taking one player as I am on the overs. The weather conditions will be perfect for open attacking rugby and the Warriors will use their younger more mobile pack to go up the middle before throwing the ball out wide. The Warriors right edge attack is possibly the best in Super league and Warrington had no answers last week and Wakefield could struggle. The two players who will cause havoc are centre Anthony Gelling and his wingman Dom Manfredi.
Manfredi has scored back to back hatricks since replacing the injured England winger Josh Charnley, Both he and Gelling scored in the earlier matchup and i can see both causing the Wildcats defence problems. I will be on Manfredi to score 2+ at 13/8 Ladbrokes.

There was another 170 checkout last week thanks to James Wade and when the card looks tough it is always worth having a little flutter on the specials. They give you a live bet from the first leg of the night to the last leg. A 170 checkout is 7/2 Betway, and a 9 darter is 13/2 Betway. MVG and Anderson play twice, Taylor faces Lewis and their is Barney v Chizzy so every chance we see one tonight.
The card looks pretty tough with realistically only 2 spots available. MVG and Chisnall the top two both lost last week but their was no real harm done. It is a scrap for the 3rd and 4th spot. The bet I like tonight with so many potential close games is the total 180s on the night to go over. It is 5/6 various.
The line is set at 32.5 and the past two weeks we have seen 28 total maximums. MVG didn’t hit one last week, the week before there were 3 games that a player didn’t hit a max they were Wade in both his matches and Taylor. I think this bet as a real chance as MVG & Anderson two heavy scorers play twice, they could both easily hit 10 in their two matches and with plenty of tight looking games leaning to plenty of legs, I think this bet rather than taking individuals to cover makes sense tonight. Like the specials it gives you interest throughout the evening.

Barneveld has got off the floor to keep his top 4 ambitions alive, beating MVG, Taylor twice and drawing with Anderson. He faces Chisnall who he has lost to in their last two meetings, however he is value to pick up a vital two points here. He has the throw and if he can break Chisnall early his confidence will soar, Barney is always a better front runner than chaser, and it is the same for Chisnall. The start is vital and the crowd will be behind RVB, and if he starts well then 6/4 Ladbrokes looks worth taking.

Gaz the bets at 10/11, 5/6 etc are usually on what I would call prop bets. Last night I didn’t have one so I placed £11 on the Clippers to win, but had them +6.5 in my remaining bets. Usually my prop bets are player points/assists/rebounds, so you’re relying on one player to bring up that bet rather than say a handicap of 3 or 4 with the whole team (in which basketball is very much a team sport) therefore I only place a maximum of £11 on 10/11 or £12 on 5/6 to get a round return.
The bets you see from me with say total points or handicaps will be my first bets on the list, usually I’ll state if they are my main bet, or a smaller bet like I have done tonight, as I have advised in other posts throughout the playoffs. I don’t have a points system as my bets are placed on how confident I am of that bet landing, which has far less risk than in football as it’s 50/50, they either win or lose, either cover the handicap or they don’t, and they reach the total points or fall short. Usually a stake of £100 but only have I put more on the Houston Game 1/Series Double @ EVS. The £20 Fun Bets you see are usually no bigger than 10/1 and with the 50/50 factor and a good dose of research and gut, you’re more likely you land it every now and then (16/1 last week, 59/10 last ight). Any higher and it’s usually a tenner which I’ll state.
Game 3 Saturday’s bet has a £50 because I’ve said that these next games will be difficult to gauge because its the reverse home fixtures. I think the Wizards should win because they are leading 2-0 with two road wins so I can’t see why the home can’t spur on another win, and the Rockets because of the news of a few players not being available for the next game, and think the Rockets should be able to cover the +8 with the depth of their squad and Harden and Howard playing very well having beaten the Mavericks by 10 or more in the two home games.

I am on this and the fourfold I posted. For me Fognini is the biggest risk but he was brilliant today to beat Rafa in straight sets, hopefully he builds on that. He’s met tomorrows opponent Andujar 3 times (all on clay) and won all three in straight sets, most recently in Feb of this year winning 6-3 6-2.

After the the 7th game of the series they will be playing the next round usually 2 3 days later
