IT was a day of near misses on the top tips although when it came to Crystal Palace they were well beaten.
Form went out of the window as they crashed at home to West Brom but later Chelsea, as I predicted, beat Man United to just about wrap up the Premier League title.
Biggest disappointment for me was Bournemouth conceding a last-gasp equaliser to down the Top Treble but there will be plenty of surprises before the end of the season.
The cup semi-final favourites didn't fare well on Saturday with Arsenal needing extra time to see off Reading in England and Hibs losing to Falkirk north of the border.
I expect Sunday's favoured sides to progress but both will have to battle. Liverpool face an improving Aston Villa at Wembley and at Hampden Celtic take on an Inverness side who have troubled them this season.
In the Premier League Spurs look sound bets at struggling Newcastle while Man City should take care of West Ham as they try to firm up a top-four slot.
There are big matches all over the continent and in Italy best bets are Napoli at Cagliari and Roma at home to Atalanta.
Werder Bremen should see off Hamburg in the Bundesliga and Wolfsburg v Schalke has a history of goals.
Sevilla can win at Granada in La Liga and Villarreal are expected to beat basement boys Cordoba at home.
I thought about Spurs for the Super Single but with Rafael Benitez saying his side will concentrate fully on their trip to Sardinia before the Europa League second leg with Wolfsburg I'm taking them.
Napoli bounced back from defeats to Roma and Lazio with a 3-0 home triumph over Fiorentina last weekend then stunned the Germans with a 4-1 success in the VW Arena.
The Naples outfit are fourth in the league, eight points adrift of Roma with a game in hand, but of course have two chances of a Champions League spot.
Cagliari last won on January 24 and have lost six of their last seven, including last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Genoa. They are eight points adrift of safety and have the worst defence line in the league and there's not much a new boss can do to improve things.
I'm starting the Top Treble with Sevilla who have won four of five at Granada and beat their rivals 5-1 at home earlier in the season. Barcelona loan signing Denis Suarez has made a great impact with six goals and last week's Europa League win over Zenit extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 games.
Granada's hopes of surviving the drop suffered a serious blow last weekend when they slumped 3-0 away to fellow strugglers Almeria. The defeat left Granada four points from safety with seven games to play and the display was so poor the club issued an apology to fans on their official website.
Add Roma at home to Atalanta. The home men have won the last six meetings at the Olympic Stadium – five by at least two goals – so h2h and form gives it to the favourites.
Complete the treble with both to score in the Milan derby. AC's last five have brought up this market as have four of the last six meetings.

Morning Guys, FA Cup Semi Final Villa v Liverpool
The FA Cup semi final to me looks closer than the bookies think, they have Villa as 11/2 outsiders at Coral. I think it could be a close game. The pressure is all on Liverpool to win this and they haven’t been in great form this past few weeks. A win over Newcastle on Monday night, but prior to that they were poor in both games against Blackburn to get here, Arsenal ripped them apart in a 4-1 win and they loss to Man Utd 2-1, and that flattered them as United dominated the first half of that game.
Both teams to score looks likely with Villa having scored six in their last seven matches and they are less than solid at the back. It pays 19/20 William Hill. In the goal scorer market Daniel Sturridge could get the nod although he could start on the bench. I do think Villa will have a go, with no league pressure on them and I want to be with Christian Benteke who as 8 goals in his last 6 matches and at 11/4 looks great value

It’s been a good season at Carrow Road since Alex Neil arrived. His target must have been the playoffs but he’s delivered us to a place where we can still challenge for a top 2 finish (although the loss on Friday probably makes that tough now). Still he’s over delivered and really got the best out of players especially defensively as we let in some howlers at the start of the season.
Whilst I’d love to go up automatically being promoted at Wembley would be amazing! I still remember the play off finals at Cardiff back in 2002 – albeit it didn’t go our way.
I’m just thankful we have a great team, a great manager, a great board and that we’re in good financial health. It would (and will) be great to see Norwich back in the Prem League though.

Hi everyone – I’ve followed this thread since Jan and have stayed in profit every month partly thanks to Bet 365‘s free bet offers, but mainly due to the tips on here. I tend to follow MrF but follow gut instinct too. I don’t have any great knowledge to offer, but in the spirit of sharing I thought I’d say that I’ve put a few pennies (literally) on the outsiders today.
As Reading showed yesterday, cup matches are great levellers and I think the prices for Inverness and Villa (8.0 and 6.0) are worth putting small stakes on. Add West Ham (at a huge 12.0)at a City side who are all over the place and Newcastle (3.3) against a similarly inconsistent Spurs and you get odds of 1900. I’ve permed singles (25p), doubles (15p), trebles (10p) and the fourfold (10p). Around £365 for all 4 off a £2.40 stake but healthy profits on any double, and even a single of W Ham puts me up.
Fed up with short priced favourites bets losing (Palace, B’mouth – W Brom last week) so going against the flow today to see what happens!

My thoughts on Liverpool today are I wouldn’t put a penny on them . I hope we win but hope and facts are often a different thing. Tim sherwood has given villa confidence and Benteke has remembered that the big netty object at the end of the pitch is what he should be hitting . I think villas setup is very much a difficult one to play against when you play with Liverpools system . Villa can counter attack well with pace and my head is siding towards a draw or villa win inside the 90 mins. I don’t think its a game for wild stakes and I am siding towards the card market . I am going to wait for line ups and formations of both teams before I commit to small stakes bet but at first glance Lucas and emre can look strong booking possibilities both over evens. Raal on your tips as always and I will clarify if the booking bets fit in with my predicted line ups closer to 3pm

Matt – I have my own method of analysing these games I choose. I don’t follow stats most of the time – I look at how a team may attack and there opposition. Yes I agree stats don’t lie…But for myself I have a list of all the games a team plays and how they match up on an individual basis. This is what makes me choose games that I feel BTTS will land. Tonight has been proof of how I put this into practice.
