IT was one out of two for me in the Champions League last night and here are another two live contests to consider tonight with both home sides kicking off a goal down.
I correctly tipped Real Madrid to qualify from 2-0 down to Wolfsburg but expected PSG to beat Man City.
Tonight the big one sees Atletico Madrid take on Barcelona and it’s tough to call with the Catalans winless in their last three in La Liga to allow Atletico to close the gap to three points.
Maybe Barca are focusing on the Champions League and this season they’ve beaten Atletico 2-1 three times and are unbeaten in four visits to the Vicente Calderon.
Both teams should score here despite Atletico being without banned Fernando Torres who put them ahead in the first leg before being sent off. Antoine Griezmann is in fine form and is 7-2 at Betfred to score.
Cristiano Ronaldo took all the plaudits last night with a hat-trick and when he shines Lionel Messi often follows up with a performance. He hasn’t scored in four games – for the first time in five years – so he’s certainly overdue a goal and is 4-1 with the likes of William Hill and Ladbrokes to net first.
Bayern netted early against Benfica but that was it which was a surprise. I still expect them to qualify but Benfica are Europe’s form team with 15 wins out of 16.
Top scorer Jonas is banned and that’s a huge blow so the Germans could win but a best price of 4-6 at Coral doesn’t tempt me.
Thomas Muller is often the man for the big occasion and he is 7-4 at BetVictor to net.
